Bardia is one of the Nepalese National Parks. It is located in the south, near to the Indian border, and it’s a little bit inconvenient to reach if you do not want to rely on the local taxi drivers (actually I should say drivers belonging to the local lodges). Bardia is famous for its tigers, which we - unfortunately - did not see. Luckily some deers, crocodiles, rhinos and otters showed up. It’ home time! Local villagers carrying home gras and straw for their livestock. They collect the material within or close to the national park area and are thus always prone to attacks from tigers, rhinos or wild elephants. For that reason the normally only walk in groups and making lots of noise.

Lost.

Sandro watching out for wild elephants.  That was actually quite adrenalin boosting: we heard them moving very close from us but were not able to spot them through the dense jungle vegetation. Fly or fight? ;)
