Today's a special day for me, it's the 10th anniversary of the day I bought my first doll, the Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2 Beach Merliah Doll. These are some of the only few photos I have of her right around the time I got her, and I didn't have any other dolls or clothes for a while so she had a Sock Top in addition to her bikini).
I remember the weekend I got her was the same weekend Iron Man 3 released, and my folks went out of town. At some point I realized since no one was home that I could just go and buy the doll I wanted (saw her at the store the night before), so I did, and I never looked back.
10 years and 400 Dolls Later a lot as happened and changed, but she's still one of my faves. I still have my original, who's hair had been cut in an attempt at bangs (and also has no face and needs a repaint). I've gotten 2 more of her since, one new in box from amazon with a slightly different/worse face, and another I got from thrift that is suffering from glue head (though treated with corn starch so she's fine for now). Here's to 10 years of doll collecting and here's to another 10 more!

Merliah dump lol
This is such a random-ass fixation but here we go lol While I was looking for older Mattel Ariel dolls for my collection on Facebook marketplace a few months back, I somehow managed to stumble across a used Mermaid Tale 2 Mini Merliah doll-one of my most random doll grails- for the very very low price of 5$ which began a renewed interest in Barbie in a Mermaid Tale dolls lol
I've always been a huge fan of the Mini Kingdom line but dissatisfied with the body they used (and the massive balloon hobbit-era head sculpt they switched to in 2008-ish), so I was pretty excited when the Mermaid Tale 2 mini dolls came out with not only a teeny tiny Belly Button body, but also a new miniaturized GG head sculpt! Sadly they were Wal-mart exclusive dolls and were sold in very limited quantities so I never had a chance to get them when they came out, and they have been nearly impossible to find secondhand since then so I have been searching for them for years to no avail lol
(photos from google, pls let me know if they belong to you) this is also my obligatory plea for anyone to let me know if they have these for sale or find them anywhere because I still desperately want the Kylie doll and an NIB set of both lol After getting the mini doll, I thought it would be a good time to repurchase the deluxe Transforming Merliah doll I had when I was a teenager- one of my favorite dolls back in the OG doll Flickr days! I've always loved her face and the general aesthetic of the line (but not necessarily the construction..we'll get to that later) so she's always been a favorite of mine.
(the time stamp is killing me lmao)
At first I decided to just get my hands on a singular used Merliah doll to reroot and a collection of all of her outfits from previous movies, but upon her arrival I was pretty shocked to open up the padded envelope and discover a completely squishy head with no glue!
(I also rooted extra hair into her head for thickness but that's beside the point lol) Turns out the earliest batches of the original Merliah doll (Including international versions) are glue-free, while later ones have gluehead. This is probably a result of Mattel not fully integrating the glue-head method for every single doll until about the middle of Monster High's original run, which is why certain batches of Mattel dolls from between 2008-2012 still have squishy heads despite glue head already being a thing. At this point I decided to start hunting for more glue-free Merliah dolls (going by vibes and prayers alone to figure out which ones had no glue) one for each outfit. Next up was an NIB Merliah that came in the international package (luckily also with no glue, especially because I paid an egregious amount of money to get her NRFB):
I also started working on a set of two Merliah mermaid dolls, using multiple parts combined together and a set of rerooted Merliah dolls with solid pink streaks (instead of the color change ones that she comes with). The original deluxe Merliah dolls are pretty infamous for having some of the worst looking tail construction, so if I wanted a set of good mermaid dolls I would have to get creative lol
(Mermaid Tale 1's tail turns into a beach coverup and MT2's tail turns into a literal surfboard...bye) They also made a set of 'budget' mermaid dolls with more traditional fabric tails, which serve as the primary base parts for my versions:
MUCH nicer tails, but their fins are really dinky and flimsy and they could both use some more details, and the dolls are ofc way too basic lol
Mermaid Tale 2 Merliah was the first to get going because I found the pieces I needed at a lower price than the ones I need for the original Merliah, but she's also still unfinished while I wait for her rerooted head to come lol First I made a mockup, using the budget tail with the deluxe doll fin just to make sure the parts would fit together :
Then my finished tail, with some added detail around the fin to look a bit more deluxe lol:
Gorg! And very headless (for now) I also switched out her legs with the standard hollow plastic beach feet legs that the budget Merliah dolls have, because I hate the legs she came with lol Original Merliah is definitely my favorite though, and the one who cost the most for me to put together (and also got the most love lol) and also got finished the soonest. My mockup for her:
Originally I planned to add a Fountain Mermaid Barbie fin to her tail in order to make it larger, but eventually decided on Secret Door Romy's fins for the bottom layer instead, because they look more cohesive to the rest of her tail/fin and look more 'official' instead of looking like...well a 1993 tail slapped on a 2009 doll lol Ofc she needed a reroot to start with (commissioned from 292millimeters on Instagram!):
And then I (very reluctantly, because it was like 80$ lol) purchased the budget mermaid Merliah doll, a used Secret Door Romy outfit for the fabric fins and a bag of fuschia hotfix gemstones and put her together!
I also switched the tiaras between the Original and MT2 doll because the pink tiara matches her better, and I think it makes more sense for the original mermaid form to be more muted and for the "upgraded" sequel form to be more colorful. The extra fin on the bottom really gives the tail that little bit of extra length it needed to look like an actual, legitimate Deluxe Merliah doll tail imo, as does the longer hair and the gem on her top! And if you don't think this is a vast improvement from the original Deluxe doll's outfit....well
It was lowkey a little painful to put my stock Merliah back into her mermaid form for this comparison but it had to be done, it's just so ugly!!! This was a really random project resulting from a very spur of the moment purchase of a 5$ doll, but I really love these dolls and this line, and it felt good to fulfill the wishes of 15-year old me-and all of the other collectors on Flickr bitd who were absolutely livid about Merliah's original tail being so incredibly bad lol I've been having a lot of fun with these "what if" projects I've been doing recently, it's only further proven to me that I am a much happier collector when I actually take my own time working on whatever interests me in that moment and put everything I have into fully realizing my vision to the smallest detail (even if it's for something as niche as this, and even if it costs more money than it should) instead of putting so much emphasis on dealing with the hell that is trying to keep up with and purchase every new doll, even at the expensive of my financial and mental health and even if it personally does absolutely nothing to enrich my collection or my creativity to be constantly worried about missing out on whatever new RH doll is out lol

My doll collection - A doll a day
1.5 Barbies
Day five: 2012 Barbie in a mermaid tale 2 Merliah beach doll
aaaaarrrrrg her head got cut off in the first picture. Anyway, she's my only movie doll, and I haven't actually seen mermaid tale 2! But the first one has always been one of my favourites. I really like her necklace, and her hair is super cute too. Unfortunately it has hardened, but at least it hardened in a cute swoopy hairstyle! The saddest thing though, is that her neck is cracking. You can't see it in the photos, but if I move her head back, ber neck will snap and her head will come off. So I've kept her very safe in a box, which is quite sad...

Common Mermaid Movie Tropes (With Examples)
I’ve noticed with a lot of mermaid movies that a lot of them tend to share common tropes. I mention common mermaid tropes a lot on the Mermaid Movie Club, but thought, hey, maybe I need to come up with a handy list that’s easy to follow? Hey, that’s what blogs are for. Without further ado, a list of Common Mermaid Movie Tropes, and examples for each one. Since these are going to be part of the Mermaid Movie Club going forward, I thought I'd compile them neatly into a little list. Of course, this will be updated as I go through more movies. 😉
These are not taken from TVTropes, these are just things that I have found from watching these films/TV shows, so I just kinda made stuff up. Perhaps in due time I could make a list of tropes taken from TVTropes but that’s a loooooooooot to sift through.
(Also, this is not necessarily negative. Understand a lot of these will be interpreted differently from film to film. It's all about looking at something from a different angle, which a lot of these filmmakers do in their own way.)
1. The Only Way To Get What You Want is to Become Human Yourself
Literally what it says on the tin. The mermaid has to become human to achieve some kind of goal. Usually a romantic objective.
Examples: The Little Mermaid and most adaptations of it, Splash (1989), Aquamarine (2006)
Subverted in: The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea (2000), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010)
2. Teenagers Scare the Living Fish Outta Me
Mermaid as a coming-of-age metaphor. For me it comes across as a kind of "fish out of water" metaphor but in the case of one film I have to rethink that.
Examples: The Thirteenth Year (1999), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017), Blue My Mind (2017), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010)
3. You Can Take Your Mermaid on Land Adventures, When She Dries Off, She Gets Legs
Again, what it says on the tin. The mermaid can achieve a human form but only when dry. When she touches water again she reverts back to her mermaid form.
Examples: Splash (1989), H2O and all of its spin-offs, Aquamarine (2006)
Splash: Obviously there’s the iconic scene with Madison unfolding her fins in the bathtub, and rushing to dry off when Allen calls for her. There’s also the scene where Walter Kornbluth sprays her down with a hose as she and Allen leave their dinner, effectively revealing her tail to the public.
H2O: This is revealed in the first episode where Cleo gets stuck in the bathtub after her tail develops, Emma transforms while swimming in the ocean, and perhaps the most telling of all is Rikki transforming after getting hit with a sprinkler. There are many more examples as the show goes on.
Aquamarine: Had an additional stipulation that she would have to be a mermaid at night, so it was almost like a werewolf-mermaid situation.
4. Born Yesterday
Mermaid is a bit naive to human things.
Seen in: The Little Mermaid (especially the Disney one), Splash (1989), Aquamarine (2006), Siren (2018-present)
5. Human Stuff
Mermaid falls in love with a human.
Examples: The Little Mermaid and all of its adaptations, Splash (1989), Aquamarine (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), Siren (2018-present)
6. For Science
Mermaid is pursued by scientists for science.
Examples: Splash (1989), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017), The 3 Tails Movie: A Mermaid Adventure (2015), Siren (2018-present)
7. Hush Hush
The mermaid has to keep her mermaid identity a secret, potentially as a result of For Science, as well as You Can Take Your Mermaid on Land Adventures, When She Dries Off, She Gets Legs. The mermaid might have to avoid water to avoid being exposed.
Examples: H2O and all its spin-offs, Aquamarine (2006), Splash (1989), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017), The Thirteenth Year (1999), nearly all of them except for some older pre-Splash ones.
H2O: Just Add Water: The mermaids even have to drink water through straws to prevent the water from touching their skin.
8. The Power of Three
There's likely a trio of mermaids. Mostly common in H2O copycat shows on YouTube.
Examples: H2O and all its spin-offs, Mermaids (2003), as I said, a lot of H2O copycats on YouTube. Aquamarine includes a main cast of three, but Hailey and Claire are not mermaids.
9. Power Up
They have superpowers. That's it that's the trope
Examples: H2O and all its spin-offs, The Thirteenth Year (1999), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010)
H2O: The core mermaids (Rikki, Cleo, Emma, later Bella) all have some kind of different water-based superpower.
Scales: Siren's powers in this movie are pretty similar to those in H2O, particularly, the ability to move water. At the end she kills a hunter by dehydrating him to death.
The Thirteenth Year: Cody Palpatine Griffin emits force lightning--I mean, static electricity
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale: Royals of Oceana are capable of producing Merillia, a sort of oceanic life force.
10. I'm In the Sea, and I'm SINGING
Mermaid can sing, which checks out given the mythology honestly
Examples: The Little Mermaid and nearly all of its adaptations (especially Disney), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), Siren (2018-present)
11. You Should See Me In a Crown
Mermaid is part of a royal family, most likely a princess. Her father is likely Neptune or Triton or Poseidon, or some non-specific King of the Sea. (Notice that the Queen of the Sea is rarely mentioned? That's weird, right?)
Examples: The Little Mermaid and all its adaptations, Aquamarine (2006), The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2001), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010), implied in Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017)
The Little Mermaid: It's kind of the basis for the story itself. In Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989), Ariel is the daughter of King Triton and has six sisters. Her mother, Queen Athena, is not revealed until 2008 in The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, but it's revealed that she was killed when Ariel was very young, so she doesn't exist by the time the original film takes place.
Aquamarine: Aqua's father is a non-specific king
SpongeBob: Mindy's father is King Neptune
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale: Merliah’s mother is Calissa, Queen of Oceana, overthrown by her sister Eris
Scales: Siren's birth mother is referred to as "the leader of the mermaids," and it is later revealed that they are both pureblood mermaids, which implies that Siren and Emerald are some kind of royalty. The film uses the word “leader” which is fairly vague, however.
12. Kids' Show
(I read this in my mind like the Will Ferrell/Molly Shannon “Dog Show” sketch from SNL.)
A character from a kids' franchise becomes a merperson themselves, most often to help other merfolk. This might also be reflected in a corresponding toy line.
Examples: Barbie (numerous titles), Dora the Explorer, Paw Patrol, Monster High, Sofia the First, Shimmer and Shine.
Barbie: Numerous mermaid characters exist in the Barbie Cinematic Universe (if that isn’t already a thing it is now), but at least five mermaid-centric Barbie films exist: Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia (2006), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010), Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2 (2012), Barbie the Pearl Princess (2014), and Barbie Dolphin Magic (2017). There have also been multiple Barbie mermaid lines throughout the years, the most recent being part of the Dreamtopia line. A number of lines corresponded to the films, such as the Mermaidia and Barbie in a Mermaid Tale lines. (I’ve got one of Kayla from the first one somewhere)
Dora the Explorer: In the 2007 TV movie Dora Saves the Mermaids, Dora became a mermaid to help the crown of mermaid princess Mariana. Dora later reunited with Mariana in the Dora and Friends episode “Magical Mermaid Adventure” (1x13) in 2015. Dora once again became a mermaid in the 2012 episode “Dora’s Rescue in Mermaid Kingdom” (7x01). I remember there being dolls for Dora Saves the Mermaids but not for the other two.
Paw Patrol: The six main pups of the Paw Patrol become merpups (it’s exactly what it sounds like) in the 2016 episode “Merpups Save the Turbots” (3x21B). Initially it’s just Marshall after he is turned by a mother merpup but later all the pups have a merpup form. I don’t remember a ton of toys for this one, but I often run into the merpup bath squirters, namely Skye.
Monster High: Lagoona Blue, daughter of a sea monster, is a part of the core team of monsters, but she’s more Mermaid-Adjacent. The first true mermaid character to be introduced to the franchise was Sirena von Boo, the daughter of a mermaid and a ghost, in the 2014 Freaky Fusion movie and doll line of the same name. Later on, the 2016 Great Scarrier Reef movie coincided with a corresponding doll line of the main monsters as mermaid-like creatures, with the addition of some new aquatic characters such as Posea Reef, Kala Mer’ri, and the two-headed Peri and Pearl Serpentine. (Mattel had a similar line called Ever After High that featured Meeshell Mermaid as the daughter of the Little Mermaid, but there was never any kind of mermaid line or movie made for it, which, come on, I wanted mermaid Raven Queen.)
Sofia the First: 2013′s “The Floating Palace” was a special episode that aired toward the end of the show’s first season. In it, Sofia meets mermaid princess Oona and Queen Emmaline, and helps them stop Cedric from taking the magical Mermaid Comb of Merroway Cove. Of course, in order to do that, she has to become a mermaid herself. Along the way, her magical amulet summons Ariel because this is a Disney Princess show and her amulet just magically summons Disney Princesses when she needs a pep talk because of course it does.
Shimmer and Shine: In the 2016 episode “Mermaid Mayhem” (2x06), Leah wishes she and her genies, Shimmer and Shine, were mermaids. If only it were that easy. Yep. There were toys. Just expect it at this point.
Subverted in: Elena of Avalor: Song of the Sirenas
13. Looks Like a Seannamon Roll But Could Actually Kill You
This is really just a trope for sirens or "darker" mermaids
Examples: Siren (2018-present), She Creature (2001), Killer Mermaid/Nymph (2014), Mermaid's Song (2018), Night Tide (1961)
14. Mermaid-Adjacent
Not quite a mermaid but similar human-fish hybrid.
Examples: The Shape of Water (2017), Creature from the Black Lagoon (1953), also the Zora race from the Legend of Zelda games even though that’s not a movie, shut up it counts
15. Gadgets and Gizmos Aplenty
There is some kind of magical trinket used by the mermaids, typically a piece of jewelry with magical properties.
Examples: The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea (2000), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2010), H2O: Just Add Water (2006-2010), Mako Mermaids/Mako: Island of Secrets (2013-2016), both Barbie in a Mermaid Tale movies (2010 and 2012)
TLM2: Melody's locket, a gift to her from King Triton, projected an image of Atlantica when opened, but otherwise didn't do a lot.
Mako Mermaids: The mermaids possessed blue moon rings, which store moonlight and can be used to perform different magical functions dependent on the situation.
H2O: The necklaces worn by Rikki, Cleo, and Bella in the third season serve a similar function to the Moon Rings of Mako.
Scales: Siren Phillips was given a special necklace by Crystal which seems to serve as a kind of homing device. It's not explained in depth what it does exactly, but it performs a similar function to the Wailing Stick if I remember correctly, which was a sort of mermaid distress signal.
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale: When Queen Calissa gave baby Merliah Summers to Break, she gave Merliah a magical necklace that, years later, revealed to her and Zuma that Queen Calissa was still alive after Eris overthrew her from the throne of Oceana. Merliah is later given a necklace by Calissa that allows her to alternate between human and mermaid forms at will. In Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2, Kylie Morgan steals the necklace out of Merliah’s hoodie when Hadley is distracted and uses it to become a mermaid herself, so it’s clearly not specifically made for Merliah to use.
If it counts, Ursula’s soul-stealing necklace in The Little Mermaid (1989) is one of these as well.
16. You Want Thingamabobs? I've Got Twenty
Girl is a hoarder, or fascinated by human trinkets.
Examples: The Little Mermaid and nearly all of its adaptations (especially the Disney one)
17. The Mermaid Elder
An old woman that’s sort of a mermaid wise woman.
Examples: The Mermaid (2016), most interpretations of The Little Mermaid apart from the Disney one
18. Foreshadowing Name
Very very very obvious mermaid name.
Examples: Barbie in a Mermaid Tale/2 (2010/2012), Scales: Mermaids are Real (2017), Aquamarine (2006), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale/2: You really expect me to think a girl named Merliah isn’t gonna be a mermaid? Come on.
Scales: I feel like naming your kid Siren in a town full of mermaids AND where there are known mermaid hunters is just a great example of not thinking things through.
Aquamarine: Self-explanatory.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: Astrid Berges-Frisbey played main merm Syrena in this movie. There were other named mermaids in this, I think, but Syrena was the most prominent, obviously.

Random Barbie movie Q's: top 5 favorite hairstyles and top 5 favorite transformation scenes?
I feel like you should know that when I saw this, I said, “Ooh, a fun question!” out loud lol
This is tricky, bc they technically reuse hairstyles several times… but I think certain characters wear them better.
Sal-Lee’s curls in Star Light Adventure. I love that we got to see her with natural hair! I’m disappointed that she doesn’t keep that hairstyle for the whole movie, but I guess they had to match the doll. Altho they could have made the doll have natural hair…
Rapunzel’s hair for the masquerade ball/her wedding. I love all the little braids in it! Special mention goes to the shortened version, which is cute AF.
Clara’s Sugarplum Princess hair. I mean, come on, she’s the OG! I gotta give her some love! Her curls always look so soft. They used this hairstyle (or pretty similar) for a long time, but Clara’s looks the best to me.
Chelsea’s space buns in Perfect Christmas and Maia’s in Video Game Hero. They’re so cute! I’m putting these together bc I think they’re the only 2 with space buns, and I don’t want to use up another space.
Princess Alexa’s bun in Secret Door. She looks so soft, and I love her bangs. I’m always sad at the end of the movie when they’re swept back.
And this is even harder, bc it’s hard to even remember all of the transformation scenes. I’m sure I’m going to forget something I love and kick myself. But to the best of my recollection:
Barbie singing with the star in Star Light Adventure. That scene makes me so emotional… Her running through the air, laughing, having the time of her life and healing the galaxy at the same time… The MUSIC in that scene… It’s beautiful!
Alexa absorbing all the magic in Secret Door. Okay, so technically my favorite parts about this are just before (when she says “You want it all? Take it!”) and just after (leading seamlessly into the “I’ve Got Magic” Reprise) the actual transformation part, but I still count it bc it all makes me tear up.
Mariposa and Catania reviving the Heartstone in Fairy Princess. I love the sound design when the magic washes over Shimmervale, and I love how Mariposa’s wings get a new color in them! I love the orange! Poor Catania’s wings don’t end up looking all that different, but at least she gets a cute new dress.
Mermaid Tale 2. Not just Merliah’s queen glow up but also two smaller moments from Kylie: 1) When she hands the necklace back right after being saved from the whirlpool, and immediately starts to drown, bc she wasn’t even thinking about being thousands of feet underwater. 2) When she takes off the necklace again, intentionally, and throws it to Merliah so she can take the merillia. She didn’t know if she would be saved at that point, just that Eris couldn’t be allowed to win. That takes so much courage.
Brietta turning back into a human. She waited so long, and it finally happened! It’s such a sweet moment.
Honorable mention goes to the scene of Odile and Daniel dancing in Swan Lake, which isn’t technically a transformation scene, but it is probably my favorite scene in any Barbie movie. (Okay, that’s really tough to say, but definitely top 3.) I’ve spoken about it a bit recently but I LOVE the artistry there and how Odile switches from shot to shot, it’s very beautifully done.
Thanks for asking me, it was really fun to think about this!

This week, we revisit the Queen of the Wave, Merliah, as she embarks on her second underwhelming journey to defeat another magic beam lady in Barbie: A Mermaid's Tale 2; a movie with gay fishies, flagrant disrespect of Polynesian cuisine, and a total lack of development.

I have 2 Merliah Barbie dolls in the first Mermaid Tale movie and I love her
Day 8: Barbie as Merliah from a Mermaid Tale(1 and 2) I like the second movie better, in my opinion, but I like it when they did original stories.

I recal seeing people recommend LA Totally Awesome for Gluehead, but I did some light googling and apparently Talcum powder might work as well? I saw a few YT videos and an old Tumblr post from like 6 years ago on this and it worked for them but I wanna get a 2nd opinion on this.
Because I CAN'T DEAL with her glue hair. I love her to death but her glue hair is such an issue. It's really really bad towards the top/scalp but gets not as bad the further you go down.

These are the Last of My Barbies, and they’re all the dolls I need to Clean up, Rebody, Reroot, etc. After this, either tomorrow or possibly tonight, is my box of Frozen dolls.
- 1st row Left side is my original 2013 Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2 Merliah Doll. She’s Seen Better days. She’s actually on a different body, though her left leg came from her original body (it’s a long story). Also She currently has no face paint as I wiped it all off after a botched repaint attempt.
- 1st row Right side is One of the First barbies I ever Thrifted. IDK who she is, but I think I cut her hair at some point.
- 2nd row left side is a Fashionistas Ken doll I got back in 2018. I thought his face looked too plain and a little feminine, so I decided to draw some eyeliner and eye shadow on him to see how it would look. For whatever reason I only had a pen in time and didn’t wipe it off in time. He’s on the List of Dolls I need to destain.
- 2nd row Right side is an 80s ken doll, possibly Western Ken from 1980. He’s not really a fixer upper, I just happened to keep my ken dolls in the same backpack as my fixer upper dolls for a while, and since ie’s super wobbly and loose I just keep him in there.
-3rd row Left side is 2009 Birthday Barbie. I got her at a thrift shop, while missing her shoes and tiara she still had her original dress, currently being worn by another doll. She had her hair in a big elsa braid, which I eventually un did and later on cut. I cut it too short so I wanna eventually re root her.
- 3rd row Right side is a 2009 Barbie Fashionistas, possibly Glam but i’m not sure. Her hair was already cut and missing plugs when I got her. I decided I wanted to try to give her a short on one side long on the other side with bangs type of hair cut but it didn’t come out well. I also wanna re root her.
- 4th row Left Side my 2nd ever barbie I bought, or rather he head. She was a Ballerina Barbie with molded on clothes, had a cloth tutu, and a tiara, The Later 2 I still have. Her Leg eventually broke off at the peg one day for whatever reason. And when I did some house cleaning on all my barbie stuff in 2017 (another long story), I decided to ditch her body. I did cut her hair short and tried to give her bangs (I tried to give bangs to a lot of my dolls back in the day to mixed results), and honestly looking at it now It looks decent. I just need to style it a little
- 4th row Right side is my 4th Ever Barbie I ever got, a Barbie Fashionistas Swappin’ Styles Glam. I still have her body, it’s just being used by someone else in my main doll box who I felt needed it more. Long story short back in 2014 I decided I wanted this doll to be a brunette with short hair. I was initially (and stupidly) using a fine point sharpie Pen but got annoyed with how long it was taking and stupidly grabbed a regular sharpie. Her hair did look alright, but it horrible stained her face, except around her eyes, lips, and behind her ears. It’s been slowly going away over the years due to attempting to wash it off every once in a while. Her hair is starting to return to it’s natural color, and now she looks like she just has a bad sun burn. A definite improvement, so maybe she’ll be looking normal again sooner than later
- 5th row Left Side is a California Fun Midge who came with my junker Barbie Ferrari. She didn’t have a neck Knob and her legs were all spotty, and her body eventually broke so I got rid of it. I plan to rebody her at some point.
- 5th row rRght side was another thrift barbie I got right when I started doll thrifting. She had a body with a lever on the back that raised her arms, which I eventually got rid of. I was kinda indifferent on her face, and I recall her being a bit of a glue head so I eventually cut her hair. On the reroot list
- 6th row Left side is an 80s Barbie who’s hair I ended up cutting too short and eventually decided to reroot. When I finish the current yarn hair reroot she’s next in line for a reroot.
- 6th row Right side is another Doll who’s hair I cur, not too short, but rather a botched Bangs Job if I remember right. She’s currently in the process of a yarn hair reroot, but it’s taking forever (She has SO MANY Holes!)

Doll Inventory Part 15: My Main Doll Box
This is The Last of My Dolls in my Main Doll box as of today, 4-6-2020. After this I have the Dolls outside of my doll box, the one’s in their own little boxes next to my main doll box and the backpack of dolls I need to fix, clean up and reroot, Which I will try to get to tomorrow. Then I have my Box of Frozen Dolls, Might try to do Wednesday or Thursday, and lastly all my Action dolls that I keep in a box under my bed, which i’ll do a day after my frozen dolls.
- 1st row Left side is a Princess Rebecca Doll from the early to mid 90s. She’s more or less an indie doll that you had to get mailed to you. I think there was even a website for her too. The idea and story behind her (not the lore on the back of the box about princess rebecca) are more interesting than the doll herself, her body is kinda cheap, but her face is cute
- 1st row Right side is my 90s Esmeralda Doll who needs serious Work on her neck (still haven’t gotten around to it yet)
- 4th row Left side is a Kenner Darci Doll with a weirdly colored Face (Sun Damage?), who I really like a lot.
- 4th row Right side is a Hasbro Jem and the Holograms Kimber Doll, who I REALLY really like a lot, she’s a big fave of mine. She also Has Pretty Much the same body and proportions as Darci so they can share clothes. Also Shoes made for the dolls using Mattel WWE Superstars Body Fit Jem and Darci Dolls perfectly (Kimber is wearing some Aquaman Mera shoes)
