123 days and counting on hunger strike to free Sikh political prisoners, Bapu Surat Singh Ji is a U.S. citizen and California resident who has no biological relation to any of the prisoners, yet he continues to fight for their freedom because their freedom is our freedom. He has recently lost the ability to walk and talk, but he's still fighting. This is not just an issue for the Sikh community in California or the U.S., but a global human rights issue. Please come out to the rally in Sacramento and join the struggle for justice, remembering that it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to break the silence and raise awareness. If you can't make it or you aren't in California, the very least that you can do to join the movement is raise awareness about the issue on social media. We have access to social media at our very fingertips, literally. This hits home for every one of us, young or old, Sikh or non-Sikh.
