Fight for the People

A femslash fic I wrote for KH femslash month. It’s the pirate girl and black girl from the Sewer Squad. The former I named “Seraphina” as a nod to Final Fantasy? I think? Since there are often Sarahs there. And I named the latter “Skully” because it sounds like “scholarly”, and she certainly looks that way to me.

Also, the coronavirus somehow found its way into this plot. Oops.

"I... I really like you, Skully" Seraphina said. Currently, they were in her room of blue and white polka-dots, recovering from a mission and trying to do the whole “social distancing thing” on their own terms. "…And not just because you told everyone to use bandanas to fight against this outbreak."

But even though that wasn’t the main reason Seraphina fancied Skully—no, it was because of the first quests they’d shared together a few months ago—she was also glad for what Skully had done, because otherwise even more people would have died.

"I know," said Skully, as she pulled Seraphina down onto the bed with her and kissed her lips. “And I feel the same… but we have to focus on the matter at hand here. Because bandanas aren’t completely effective, but still better than nothing, and more could get sick in thinking they’re safe with them, when they’re not. Let’s try and brainstorm and see if we can’t come up with a solution for all of this.” And Seraphina didn't have to be asked twice. She thought that if they could convince the Foretellers to let a majority of wielders use light magic from the clock tower, that everyone might be healed!

And so, the girls snuck into the Foretellers’ tower—using the way their newest friend had shown them—and they were completely taken aback, when they saw that the Foretellers weren't there, but rather kids about their own age? Right away, Seraphina knew this didn’t bode well. And so, she didn’t mind at all, when Skully unintentionally dug her nails into her arm—as she held onto it for comfort—at the shock of it all.

"Have you replaced the Foretellers and commandeered their home?" Seraphina asked, in trying to sound like the pirate she dressed like... but also not fully knowing what a pirate was. "O-of course not!" answered a girl with black hair and golden eyes, who Seraphina may or may not have seen around their strongest friend in their squad. "And in any case, you two shouldn't be up here, exposing yourselves! You could get sick!" "But we think we may have an idea for a cure,” said Skully in such an uncertain way—even though she was a genius, and knew it—that one couldn’t help but to want to follow her suggestion, to prove to the poor girl that she was worth something.

And proving that sentiment entirely—was a kid who was sipping tea and reading a book, as his sharply dressed Chirithy sat upon his shoulder."And what is that cure?" the boy asked Skully, as he sent her a small smile. And if Seraphina hadn’t been certain of her place in Skully’s life now, she may have been jealous of it. Perhaps. "To have many of us stand atop this tower here, and send a Curaga spell out towards everyone,” Skully explained. And the boy from before was seemingly so proud of what Skully had just said, that he stood up and pinned some sort of medal to her shirt. But Seraphina couldn’t help feeling that it was wrong somehow… because was that darkness she was seeing being cast from it? No. It couldn’t be. "But if any of us are sick… don't we have a better chance of passing it on to others, if we're all grouped together in a confined space?" squeaked a small-looking blond boy. And Seraphina couldn’t help smiling at him, because it was somehow clear to her that the only one who really cared about her and Skully’s safety here… was him.

"You're right, Ven. But if these two want to do it by themselves, I so no reason why they can't try. It's clear they haven't infected each other, And Chirithy says there's a special power to find in lov-" said the clear leader of the group—as he entered the room with a clipboard in hand and looked at them all pleasantly, even despite the horrible situation at the moment. "Whoa there!" Skully protested the notion that she and Seraphina were in love, just as Seraphina had been about to. She sighed gravely and put her hands on her hips, as she looked at the five Dandelions in a very distrusting manner. And later, Seraphina would find out why. "I like Seraphina. Yes! But I don't know if we’ve moved even further than that yet.”

“But what we should really be focusing on here, is that you’ve at least given us the go-ahead to use your tower. We’re going to do that now, then,” Seraphina drew Skully’s back to the matter-at-hand, as she took both of her hands into her own and began leading her away. And as she did so, Seraphina didn’t think that Skully had ever looked at her with such love. And so the girls acted to save the world, as they held hands and used their Keyblades… even though neither of them knew if it was really a place worth saving, since through talking things out together as they’d cast magic after magic, they realized the Foretellers must have already died in the Keyblade War—and yes, that must have happened—and these five were trying to replace them. "What do we do, if we know that they’re lying to us?" Skully asked, as she looked at the sprawling ground beneath them. And was it Seraphina, or was Skully imagining that it looked a tempting place to try and jump to. She could only pray that her girlfriend wouldn’t try and take her own life here!

But perhaps prayers and hope in general were the answer to Skully’s question and this predicament, then. That, and love. Like that white-haired boy had spoken of earlier. "We believe in each other—and in our friends—and fight for the people."

“Fight for the people…” Skully echoed.

And when Skully ended up kissing Seraphina with much passion after saying that, she couldn’t help feeling that what the other girl was fighting for was the chance to feel their lips on each other’s. And Seraphina was much the same, and melted into this embrace and wished for the best.

I know this is a random ask, but what do you think the names of the sewer squad are? The most we've ever gotten is just "Keyblade Wielder" (with the exception of Moogle head being called Mog a few times) . I like to think the pink girl's name is Rosa (which is Spanish for pink), the purple girl's name is Claire (I don't know why I just like it), and since it's a big headcannon of mine that he's Demyx, Moogle head's name is Emyd, Myde, etc. What do you think?

MMO AU Concept: The Missing Keykids

So... I just gotta come up with names for those Keykids. You know, the five Keykids introduced alongside the Sewer Squad in the third anniversary event of the original browser game? @keykidpilipili made a post about them here?

Yeah, anyway, I’m gonna try and come up with names for them. Like, NPC names since they’d all play the role of quest-giving NPC’s.

Anyway, Pirate Hat girl is Cap’s older sister, and her name is Carina (after the name @levi657 calls bandana girl). She was the original leader of Cap’s/Skipper’s party, with Skipper being her second in command. The two joined the Dandelions together, (with Carina begging Ava to let her sister join), but Carina ultimately left when Ava disappeared. One day she left to collect Lux, and never came home. A few weeks later, Skipper found her hat in the claws of a Darkling. From that day on, she was the new Captain.

The kitty-ear hairdo girl is either Nekko or Kitty (because puns). She was never a Dandelion, but, much like Ribbi, was an inexperienced wielder who had a bad habbit of getting into trouble. After just barely dragging her dying body away from an encounter with some enemy wielders, she made a desperate deal with Nightmare Chirithy to obtain the powers of darkness to save herself. She very quickly became a Darkling afterwards.

The bear-hat girl in fluffy gloves is either Teddy or Ursa (what’s the Japanese word for bear?). She looks cute, but has a somewhat short fuse, like an actual bear. She’s one of the oldest Keykids, and had a bit of a rebellious streak. She became a Darkling after she wound up killing a bunch of Keykids from other Unions in an attempt to collect their Lux for her own.

The vampire cosplayer with the eyepatch is not wearing a fake wing. That wing is very much a part of him. His name is... I don’t wanna say Vlad because that seems too easy. Anyone got any ideas? Anyway, he’s not a vampire, but is part Black Mage, and part something else (not gonna say demon because he’s not an inherently evil person). Having secretly been part of a religion that advocated for a balance between Light and Darkness, and secretly began directly absorbing Guilt in an attempt to keep the darkness from being completely extinguished. Unfortunately for him, he failed to account for the balance in his own heart, drove himself mad, and became a Darkling, eating his own Chirithy before it could vanish.

The red suit kid is actually one of Brain’s four friends. His name is Crimson. He, Brain, and two other Keykids were friends for years before their Keyblades manifested, and continued their friendship long afterwards. After Aced’s and Invi’s clash, however, a lot of pressure was put on him from his party members to prove his loyalty to his Union. He was given an ultimatum, kill his four out-of-Union friends, or be killed himself. Ultimately, he sabotaged the experiment. Though Brain survived, the result was good enough, and he became both fanatically devoted to his own Union, moreso than the other members. Eventually, he and Brain met again, and he tried to finish the job in front of his party members so they wouldn’t see him as weak. This backfired when Brain defeated him. Brain ultimately decided that sparring him to live with the humiliation of losing to a blind kid would be far better revenge than killing him, and his party ultimately ditched him. Overcome with despair at having lost both his out-of-Union and in-Union friends, he fell to the Darkness and became a Darkling.

... This is gonna be real awkward with the black girl, because having a black person become a creature called a “Darkling” just feels wrong on multiple levels...

That and I still don’t have a name for her... Or even know if she’s still alive in canon... This would be easier if she had an over-the-top design.

... @disneydreamlights do you have any ideas?

Chapter 2 Inspirations

Hey-yo let’s go Sewer Squad! xD

I knew that I needed to include those nameless Keyblade Wielders that befriend the Player after Mission 635! Unfortunately, I didn’t really spend much time thinking of more meaningful names for them.

Pyra is the bandana/pirate kid (https://www.khwiki.com/File:Party_Member_1_KHX.png). Her name was derived from ‘pirate.’ Pira = Pyra. I tried to give her ‘mom friend’ vibes. The funniest thing I think I’ve done to her so far is pair her with Brain (which occurs after chapter 12 and persists into chapter 31).

Affie is the afro kid (https://www.khwiki.com/File:Party_Member_3_KHX.png). His name is derived from ‘afro,’ legit just kinda made ‘affie’ a pet name variant for ‘afro.’ No shame.

Nin is the ninja/hippo hat kid (https://www.khwiki.com/File:Party_Member_2_KHX.png). Her name was derived from ‘ninja.’ Later on we learn that her full name is Ninjitsa Edo. Her last name is a reference to the Edo period in Japanese history. Over the course of the story, Nin became a bit of an ice queen- naturally cold/distant to others for little to no reason.

Mog is... well, Mog (https://www.khwiki.com/File:Mog_KHX.png) He’s the only Sewer Squad kid to have a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ canon name. Writing his dialog is hilarious because he tends to fly off the handle a lot.

When I was first writing, this was the chapter where I was sure of what couples I wanted to hint and tease at. At the time, this was a slowburn Ephemer/Anora, one sided Strelitzia/Anora, implied Gula/Ava, and a Ventus/OC ship later down the road. I’ve included other couples since then (like the before mentioned Brain/Pyra), and honestly, I think I need to be stopped. x_x

Trainer Daybreak... from Daybreak Town ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Okay, I admit for a terrible naming sense from me, especially this is from my obsession of KHUX. But there are several things I'd like to do on this (re)play:

Catching more pokemon (mostly Dandelions related)

I've been thinking to catch a pokemon with the name Bandana, Frog girl, Mog, Afro and Glasses which are based on those Keyblade Wielders from KHUX. But idk what pokemon fits each of them.

I'm not sure Strelitzia would be either Marill or Lilligant (or Cherrim).

Gonna get that Mukrow and evolve it for him.

Idk what Skuld's gonna be. Maybe Xatu, because it can foresee the future? I'm not sure. Or an Eeveelution.

Can't decide whether Ephemera be Whimsicott or Musharna.

Maybe I should have named the Cosplay Pikachu... Elrena because the Pikachu's characteristic fits Larxene. But nah.

Me to myself: I'm not sorry.

Here is me with my party members/friends from Kingdom Hearts Union X. The guy wearing the Moogle mask is Mog, but the three other Keyblade Wielders don't have names, so I will give them names. The guy with the pink suit and goofy glasses and nose and poofy hair is Bonzo. The girl with the pink frog hat and wearing pink ninja clothes is Tsukumo, and yes, I know I didn't draw the jetpack on her back. And the girl with the purple hair, pirate bandana, and a loosely white dress is Nerina.

So the Daybreak Town Party (aka: the Sewer Squad). The MMO AU does give them a bit more focus and character.

Mog is an actual Moogle in the MMO AU (as was previously established during my time as an anon sending asks to @disneydreamlights), and has some self-worth issues due to people in-universe thinking that a Moogle can’t be a competent Keyblade Wielder, which is part of his motivation for his canon trait of constantly wanting to prove himself. He also tends to get dragged into his party-members’ antics against his will. And yes, he does run a lemonade stand with his party.

The girl in pink with a frog-hat and jetpack is named Ribbi in this AU, and is obsessed with two things: Frogs and Space. She started out with just two pet frogs, but now there are frogs all over her apartment, and heaven help you if you hurt any of her squishy babies. She knows them all by name. Post KH4, she’d forge a friendship with Strelitzia.

And... uh... @disneydreamlights, do you have any ideas for the other two?

I mean, aside from bandana girl dating Sherry, and the kid with the afro and clown glasses maybe having a disorder or being the male equivalent to Luna Lovegood I genuinely have no idea.
