Manhwa Rec: Inso’s Law
Tumblr media
My obsession of about a year now, Inso’s Law is a manhwa I stumbled on accidentally on mangahere and I’m here for the ride. Unfortunately, I’m literally the only person in my group of friends that reads it. And since I’m desperate to try and convince people to check it out one way or another, I’ve decided the only thing I can do is make a long post about it because I suck at making slideshows.
So please, sit back and relax, and enjoy my manhwa recommendation of
Why You Definitely Should (only if you want to but please I need someone to talk to) Read
인소의 법칙: Inso’s Law
The plot as it goes follows:
One day, without any explanation or strange phenomenon, Ham Dan-i wakes up to find her life has turned upside down.
Her new uniform her mother bought only days prior is a completely different design that neither of her parents are questioning. The neighbor next door is a beautiful girl she’s never met claiming to be her best friend since birth.
Even more odd? The school she enrolled in no longer exists, replaced by a complete different one altogether. And just when she thinks this day can’t get any crazier, Dan-i stumbles onto what can only be described an episode 1 exposition dump about the school’s hottest boys everyone calls The Four Heavenly Kings.
With no other explanation, Dan-i is forced to accept her new reality. Somehow, Dan-i’s been isekai’d into a universe that runs on the rules of a manhwaー complete with all the ridiculous and dangerous tropes that come along with it. But the cherry on top of this unwanted sundae?
Dan-i quickly learns that her role in this novel is that of the Side Character. Specifically, the female lead’s childhood best friend. And no matter what she does to distance herself from her new fate of being the third wheel to her new best friend Yeoryeong’s love life, it’s a ride Dan-i is going to have to take. Willingly or otherwise.
But if the plot alone isn’t enough to grab you, I do have several other reasons for you to consider.
1) Comedic genius
Tumblr media
From the extreme lengths Ji-ho will go to present himself as the perfect boy in front of Dan-i’s friends only to laugh his ass off at her misery the moment they turn around to Dan-i’s deadpan reaction to Yeoryeong complaining about someone potentially having dyed blonde hair when the vast majority of their friends have red or silver hair.
Inso’s Law is comedic gold.
While a good chunk of the comedy stems from poking fun at genre-specific tropes (ex. the male lead telling the crying protagonist that he’ll give her ten seconds to cry), the vast majority comes from the casts’ chemistry and banter with one another.
2) The characters
Tumblr media
Whether it’s a manhwa or old shoujo anime/manga, we all know the tropes associated with them.
Over-the-top bullying,
Blackmailing plots,
Full-blooded Koreans with hair straight out of an anime,
Kidnapping or bribery in extreme casesー
regardless of the trope, Dan-i’s seen it all in the many manhwas she’s read over the years.
As such, when our story begins, she is all too happy to try and distance herself from our central five characters to avoid being mixed up the whole mess. In spite of her efforts, however, Dan-i unwittingly finds herself wrapped right up tight in the friend group of that is our Female Lead and Four Heavenly Kings. All of which represent some sort of trope you’ve all likely seen if you’re a fan of these types of series.
And while there are lots of great characters in this series, I’ll limit myself to talking about our leads.
Tumblr media
Ham Dan-i ・함단이: Female Lead’s Best Friend
Our isekai’d protagonist who has been tossed into the position of ‘side character’. But like most isekai protags, Dan-i would rather not be in the world she’s found herself in because as she words it ‘I have common sense and can take care of myself’. Keeping the facts of this reality to herself, Dan-i struggles with genuinely caring for her new group of friends and the fact she doesn’t belong in this world. That aside, she’s often tired by the shenanigans she now gets involved in because of said friends.
Tumblr media
Ban Yeoryeong・반여령: The Female Lead
Exceedingly beautiful, athletic, intelligent, and takes shit from no man- Yeoryeong is the web novel’s female lead and Dan-i’s apparent childhood friend. Unaware of this merge of realities, Yeoryeong adores Dan-i endlessly and in her eyes, Dan-i can do no wrong. Honestly, if the genre of this manhwa was changed to wlw, Yeoryeong would have no problem and would happily propose.
Tumblr media
Eun Ji-ho ・은지호: The Snobby Love Interest
A much more turned down version of characters like Tsukasa from Boys Over Flower/Hana Yori Dango, Ji-ho is still the snobby rich kid love interest. His first interaction with Yeoryeong where he found out she beat his score on an exam, he told her he’d best her the next time. He’s snarky, competitive, but even if he’s a tease he has his friends’ collective back and doesn’t cross their boundaries.
Tumblr media
Yoo Chun-young ・유천영: The Stoic & Quiet Love Interest
That guy who never talks to anyone and keeps to himself trope. His smile? Only reserved for the heroine or even small animals. Bonus: he’s a model, one with sweet abs that even Dan-i appreciates. But in reality, Chun-young dislikes the expectations set on him by his classmates due to their preconceived notions of him and would rather nap in the back of class while listening to Linkin Park.
Tumblr media
Kwon Eun-hyung ・권은형: The Calm & Mature Love Interest
The designated mom friend guy, who is all calm smiles and is the one everyone goes to for advice. Honestly, he’s as patient as a saint and he cares deeply about the people he loves. Give him one reason though and he won’t hesitate to swing whether he’s going up against one guy or five. Eun-hyung’s a brawler underneath his Makoto Tachibana-esque smile and he’s a master of the death stare.
Tumblr media
Woo Ju-in ・우주인: The Cutesy & Smiley Love Interest
Nagisa Hazuki but if he dyed his hair to a light brown and got some contacts. Ju-in is the energetic oddball of the group who dances to the beat of his own drum. A genius with a photographic memory who’ll fail tests on purpose sometimes just for shits and giggles. But underneath that smile belies a more observant nature than he lets on. He’s also Ji-ho’s childhood pal.
In spite of the tropes they all represent, the main cast of Inso’s Law feel like real people and a real group of friends at that. If you’re a fan of tropey manhwas or romance anime, you’ll be right there with Dan-i going ‘oh shit, it’s that trope’. See Ji-ho laughing his ass off at Dan-i’s superficial suffering but coming through when he knows he’s seriously upset, you’ll definitely nod to yourself ‘now this is friendship’.
The dynamic they all have as the leads to the story is definitely one of the best things about it. Speaking of dynamics, Inso’s Law also has,
3) A healthy balance of romance and platonic relationships
A romance-comedy Inso’s Law may be, but it doesn’t neglect the platonic opposite gender friendships for it. Dan-i forms friendships with many male characters and the majority of them are completely platonic.
Even characters with romantic feelings for another will put their friendship first. There’s no ulterior motives in their interactions thinking ‘oh if I do this, they’ll like me’ guiding their actions, they’re doing it because they’re friends first and foremost and want the best for them.
Honest conversations about things that make them uncomfortable or a talk on how no matter how many fakes you come across your true friends will stick with you no matter what. Within and out of our main group of characters, you’ll see this across the board and it’s pretty refreshing since most of the time platonic relationships are barely shown if romance is the main aspect of the show.
So there’s something for everybody, not just diehard romance fans.
4) I am desperate
It’s the way I need someone to talk to about everything that’s happened thus far whether it be in the DMs or ask box. Help a sister out.
That’s all I got in terms of reasons to check this series out. It’s a fun read with a lot to keep you reading and currently ongoing! And with Attack on Titan going on break until part 87 comes out in 2045 and waiting for the return of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 (or if you are a manga reader like me constantly in pain because X just died. Great), maybe some people who follow me can check out Inso’s Law as a light and fun series to perk them up in the midst of all their favorite characters dying.
Just definitely let me know if you check it out, I’d love to talk about it!

Yandere Ban Yeo-dan and Lee Ruda w a Yandere S/O - Inso’s Law
Tumblr media
i was thinking about inso’s law again tbh :3c
Tumblr media
[yandere Ban Yeo-dan x reader]
-Yeo-dan is already an oblivious person, so if you were sneaking around and threatening any of his fan girls he probably wouldn’t notice at all
-he does show great attention and care to you, however, and is extremely worried about you
-he notices how agitated you seem to be when he walks you home from school which of course is you just getting extremely angry at people who are staring at him
-but he can’t put two and two together on his own
-Yeo-dan greatly enjoys any gifts you give him
-he may be startled if you give them to him by sneaking into his home and leaving them, but he’ll still love the gesture
-he likes little gifts and will keep them on his person at all times, but he loves little messages and letters even more
-he doesn’t mind the obsessive ramblings or creepy comments on his personal schedule, he just loves that you wrote such nice things about him
-he cherishes them, putting them in his room where he can see them everyday
-he makes sure they’re out of the way, though, so you have room to put more little surprises in his home
-honestly, most of your yandere tendencies really go under his nose until he realizes that he’s a little too obsessed with you
-this is the point where he’ll try to only watch you from afar just in case he’s been hurting you with his own obsessiveness
-when you stop him from ignoring him, cornering him and getting overemotional when you ask why he’s been avoiding you
-he’s very confused when you get so giddy over his confession
-you’d really ruin this boy, now his whole moral compass is shot and he sees no problem with anything he’s doing
-because you like it! and you’ve been doing the same thing as him! this must be normal, right?
-but it’s not and everyone around him knows it
-poor Yeo-dan is confused why the people he’s close with are so concerned, even saying he should stay away from you
-but he doesn’t want that, not now!
-he’s allowed to be as close as he wants, as protective as he wants, as obsessive as he wants...
-he hardly even notices it; hardly notices when everyone keeps his distance from him, when he’s no longer just cold but aggressive towards others, when you are just so happy with it all
-even if he did notice, it wouldn’t matter
-Yeo-dan really only cares about whether you’re close and safe, he doesn’t need to care about anything else
Tumblr media
[yandere Lee Ruda x reader]
-Lee Ruda loves this and feels no guilt or shame over it
-he already so deeply desired to be the only one you talk to, so why would he not like you like this?
-he gets jealous so easily, but every time someone else tries to talk with you, you ignore them and prefer to just spend time with Ruda
-he’s ecstatic, he can’t help it!
-every time you show your undying loyalty to him, he just wants to squeeze you so tight that you can’t breathe
-Ruda really loves a possessive s/o
-he knows how much people adore and crush on him, and he truly doesn’t care about anyone else
-but he can’t deny how giddy he gets when you make sure others know that he’s yours
-he doesn’t really care if you pull him close, kiss him, intimidate his fan girls
-but this is a sure sign to him that you love him more than anyone else, that you don’t care about your reputation enough to do something so bold
-(besides, he wouldn’t mind a s/o with such a low rep that nobody wants to talk to them)
-and if you get angry at him, he can take it
-he won’t be a big cry baby, but he will try to make it up to you however he can
-he loves being just as possessive back, especially when his s/o isn’t trying to push him away or saying that he’s being too clingy
-unfortunately, he usually can’t spend all of his time with you like he wants to since he’s always busy after school
-so, you might get clingy, jealous, and/or possessive of him
-and while he usually would be upset but still stress that he can’t do anything about it, when you corner him and say that he has to spend time with you, he’s putty in your hands
-he just can’t say no to you, and why would he want to
-you’re all Lee Ruda is looking for; someone who hates others and only cares about your relationship with him
-he knows how much you’re obsessed with him, and will do anything to keep it that way

In the Moonlight (pt 2)
Tumblr media
You stood at the door of the Hwarang house, scared of not knowing what happened.
All the guys, except Han Sung went to the King on the other side to create piece and still nothing was heard of them. The only friend besides A-ro you had was Han Sung, and you adored him more than anything in the world.
He was like the brother you never had, the brother you've always wanted.
Finally one of the Hwarang men yelled they have returned causing you to drop everything you were busy with, as you made your way to the entrance of the building.
Once you saw all of the men alive, a smile crept onto your face as you felt relieved.
Soo Ho: Y/n. Soo Ho yelled, as he ran over to you.
You ran over to all of them, not just Soo Ho. But he got a different message, once you were close enough he grabbed you and pulled you to his chest.
Soo Ho: I'm so glad to see you. He whispered, into your hair as he hugged you tightly.
Y/n: I was so worried. You replied, as you wrapped your arms around him.
Ban Ryu: Y/n, you might want to check Soo Ho's wound. I did my best to close it up, but we still need to make sure everything is fine.
Y/n: You got hurt? Where? You asked frantically, as you searched him up and down.
Soo Ho: My arm, but I'm fine...really I am.
Y/n: Go wait in the pidiatrician room, I'll be in there soon.
Soo Ho: But-
Y/n: Please, just do it. I...i need to say hi to everyone. You, replied as you looked at the others.
Soo Ho nodded his head, as he walked off. Turning to find Sun Woo with facial wounds, you ran into his arms hugging close as you could.
Sun Woo: I'm fine, y/n...promise. He laughed, as he patted your back.
A-ro: We are all fine promise. I took care of them. She said, with a bright smile.
Ban Ryu: Don't you care about us? Ban Ryu, questioned with a raised brow.
Y/n: Of course I do...i just want to hug everyone. I missed you guys so much...and you worried me.
Ji Dwi: Sorry, that wasn't our intention. Ji Dwi, said, as he walked into view.
You didn't say anything, as you stood there for a second completely shocked. There he was, the man you truly loved and wanted to make a life with. He hadn't had a scratch on him, his facial features were perfect like always. A smile crept onto your face, as you ran over to him almost knocking him down to the floor as you inculfed him in a hug.
Tears started running down your face, as you burried your face in his chest. You held in those tears for so long, you held them in for Ji Dwi, Soo Ho, Sun Woo, Ban Ryu, Yeo Wool and A-ro. But none of them made you worry like Ji Dwi did.
Yes, Soo Ho was your boyfriend but that didn't make any change.
You felt Ji Dwi's arms wrap around you as he pulled you even closer, he brushed his hand down your hair as he soothed you while calming you down.
Ji Dwi always had this effect on you, he always knew what to do or say to make everything okay. He was, and has always been your best friend.
Pulling away, you looked into his eyes, his soft brown eyes as he smiled while cupping your cheeks as he brushed away the tears.
Ji Dwi: It's okay.
Y/n: Don't ever leave me like that again, p...please.
Ji Dwi: I won't...i promise. He replied, as he hugged you again.
Little did you know, Soo Ho saw the entire thing. He knew you and Ji Dwi were best friends, but he didn't know that there was something more. You were his girlfriend, did that mean anything?
To him it meant the world, but to you? Did it mean anything to you? Or were you just using him, to get to Ji Dwi?
Shaking his head, Soo Ho turned to go back to the pediatrician room where he'd be waiting for you.
He sat down, thinking as a million different thoughts ran through his head. As you entered the room, he straightened himself up and smiled as you approached him with some warm water.
Y/n: Soo Ho, could you please take off your shirt? I...i need to clean it.
Soo Ho nodded, as he took off the shirt. The wound was clear to see, and it looked like it hurt a lot. Swallowing you took some medicine and applied it to the wound, causing Soo Ho to grunt of the pain.
Y/n: Sorry. Are you okay? You questioned, as you wrapped up his wound.
Soo Ho: Yes. I'll be fine. He answered quick, as he smiled at you.
Y/n: I was so worried about you. You smiled, as you traced his jaw with your hand.
Soo Ho: All I thought about while in that prison, was if I'd ever be able to see your beautiful face again. Seeing you again, was the thing that kept me saine. You kept me alive.
Y/n: I kept you alive? How?
Soo Ho: By waiting for me. He replied, as he took your hands in his.
Soo Ho leaned in, ever so slowly as he brushed some loose hair from your face. He placed a soft kiss on your forehead, then he kissed each cheek, moving to your nose where he gave you a small peck on it and from there kissed your lips.
Tumblr media
Soo Ho: I care deeply for, y/n. Please, forgive me for being negligent with my life and the others.
Y/n: Soo Ho...i have nothing to forgive. If you are back safe and the others are too, that's all that matters to me. I couldn't want anything more.
Soo Ho: Really? So, we're fine?
Y/n: We're fine. We've barely dated Soo Ho, I believe it's all good still.
Soo Ho: So, we're still in the lovey dovey, enchanted with one another stage?
Y/n: Yes. I believe we are. You replied, as you placed your hand on his cheek.
Soo Ho: I want nothing more than to be here with you. But...
Y/n: But what?
Soo Ho: I can't help thinking...that your heart is not in this. He said, letting gobofbyour hands.
Y/n: What do you mean?
Soo Ho: Y/n...do you in love Ji Dwi? He asked, as he looked into your y/e/c eyes.
Y/n: What? Why are you asking me that?
Soo Ho: I saw how you acted towards him, when we arrived back. It was different...you acted more scared of loosing him then you were for me-
Y/n: Soo Ho-
Soo Ho: Y/n...i don't want to be the second choice. I want to be the first choice, the one that you choose because you love me not for other reasons. I can't be the one that's chosen because it the simple and easy way out. Soo Ho said, as he got up. I won't do it y/n.
Y/n: Wait, Soo Ho...please-
Soo Ho: Y/n, I think we should break up-
Y/n: No...please Soo Ho. You begged, as you grabbed onto his hand. I don't want tot loose you.
Soo Ho: Y/n, do you know what you want? I believe you care for me, and Ji Dwi but you need to take time to think who you want to be with. You can't have us both, or be unhappy with the choice you make. Please, take this time apart to make your decision. I'll be waiting for your answer.
Soo Ho said, as he kissed your forehead. Taking in your scent, a single tear left his eyes as he walked out of the pediatrician room and off to his room where he could rest.
As he left, you stood there dump founded. Completely confused, as to what just happened. You thought that you and Soo Ho were strong, but to your dismay it wasn't what you expected. Yes, you knew he was right about the situation, and you needed to make the right decision but the queen wasn't fond of the idea of the prince soon to be king wanted to choose his own bride.
Ji Dwi already confessed his love to you, so if you chose him you knew he'd still feel the same way about you...right?
Soo Ho, gave you the option to choose again which might not be the best choice for him to have made but he did it to make you happy. You knew that you had to make a decision, the right one, even if it took forever to make it.
One week later
You sat outside by the river, when the guys arrived to wash their clothes. Once Soo Ho saw you, he swirved away and headed into another direction.
Ji Dwi saw this, and came over taking a seat next to you.
Ji Dwi: Trouble in paradise?
Y/n: Sort of. He broke up with me.
Ji Dwi: He what? Why would he do that?
Y/n: To be entirely honest...Ji Dwi...i have feelings for you too.
Ji Dwi: I-
Y/n: Soo Ho knows, I have feelings for you and that's why he left me. Yes it's true, I have feelings for you but j also have for Soo Ho...i need to choose one of you t...thats what he said. But when I do, I need to choose the right one, the one that I'll be happy with for the rest of my life. I want a one love, forever love.
Ji Dwi: Whichever one you choose, I know it'll be the right choice for you y/n. No matter what, or whom you choose I'll still be here...I'll still be your best friend. He said, as he hugged you before getting up and leaving you to think.
Who were you going to choose? Yes, you could have a happy life with Soo Ho, and Ji Dwi but each of them held complications.

hiiii so i loved your one about Kwon Eun-hyung. Could i request a Yandere Ban Yeo-dan from Inso’s Law, maybe some type of scenario where reader is like Dan-i’s older sister? or something else i don’t mind. Please and Thank you ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ also i’ve never made a request before so i hope this is how i do it
HIDDEN SIDE
❲ yandere! ban yeodan x female reader! ❳
summary : no one expected that the quiet and stoic ban yeodan had a side that was hidden from everyone even from his childhood friend.
tw : yandere behavior, toxic behavior, unhealthy obsession, delusions, manipulation (?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
even though your families are close with each other. you and yeodan don't get along with each other at first. your parents and your little sisters are friends, so why did you guys need to get along in the first place?
well, if it wasn't for yeoryeong and dan-i setting you guys up. and to be honest, it was awkward at first! i mean, unlike yeoryeong and your little sister, dan-i you are not close with each other!
but it's a good thing that you finally manage to get along. and when yours and yeodan's family seen you and yeodan talking happily— boy! they are so happy! especially yeoryeong and dan-i!
let's just say that yeoryeong is happy for another reason. you see, this girl is kinda obsessed with you. she really wants to call you sister, it was one of her dreams. and seeing you getting along with yeodan is great! if you and yeodan end up with each other, then, it'll be great. since for her, the only person who's suited for you, the kind and beautiful you, is her older brother, yeodan.
as you become close with yeodan. you realized that you guys share the same hobby and something that you both didn't like. you guys started to understand each other and you become relaxed when you're with him.
and at those times, yeodan realizes something's odd with him. he might be smart but he had no idea what's happening to him. when you're not with him, he started to miss your presence. he started blushing whenever you touches him. and you were always on his mind.
everyone (even the internet) was saying that he was in love. but he knows that he's not. because every time he sees you talking to other guys, he doesn't know but his mood will suddenly turn sour. he knows that jealous, but planning other those guys' deaths just because they talked to you, is that even normal?
that's why yeodan decided to ask his little sister about it. and when yeoryeong heard about it, she was excited and kept saying that he was indeed in love with you.
and after knowing that her brother was in love with you, yeoryeong decided to give yeodan a little gift.
what's that gift you asked?
it was your pictures! some of those pictures were pictures that she took when you are hanging out with her and dan-i. and many of those pictures were candid photos.
and yeoryeong saw how her big brother's face brightened up and blushed after seeing those pictures. i mean, you can't blame yeodan since you were really beautiful in those photos!
there were also some times that he and yeoryeong will spend most of their time talking about you. and sometimes, dan-i joins them. why do you ask? because dan-i wants to share with yeodan and yeoryeong how great her big sister is!
and remember that time when dan-i and yeoryeong's family along with the four heavenly kings ( eun-hyung, chun-young, ji-ho, and ju-in) celebrated something in ji-ho's house? that time when your father forced yeodan to drink?
that time, you tried to help yeodan by drinking the alcohol that your father was offering to him. but you aren't aware that your alcohol tolerance is reaalllyy low. and you got knocked out after drinking one glass. that's why yeodan decided to drink the other glass that your father offered to him.
when you are drunk, you are really clingy. and yeodan loves that. he loves how you hug and how you praise him.
and when he brought you home. being a drunk person you are, you suddenly told him that you really love him.
and yeodan was surprised. though, he knows that you don't mean it since you are drunk. but hearing those words from your mouth is quite nice.
that day, yeodan made up his mind that was nothing wrong with him. since you said that you love him, it means that you don't mind his behavior, right?
“ hey, (first name), tell me. is love supposed to be this passionate? ”

dodanru university oneshot
@bookishserendipity03 requested a platonic dodanru university fic so here it is! i’m sorry for taking so long, but this went in a direction i wasn’t really expecting and it ended up longer than originally planned. it’s around 3k words and mostly fluff + a lot of lee do hwa (because i love him). thanks for reading!!
When Eun Dan Oh finally found Haru amongst the seemingly endless crowd of familiar faces at Seuli University, it felt like a miracle. She’d searched for him ever since she’d been reborn, even if she hadn’t quite known what (or who) she was looking for at first. They spent hours walking around campus in circles, recounting the events of their previous lives and catching each other up to speed on their current character setups. Eun Dan Oh was relatively the same in this story. She was the sole daughter of a wealthy businessman and engaged to a fiance who would never love her back— the author really hadn’t put much effort into that one. The main difference now was that instead of a heart disease, Dan Oh’s conflict revolved around taking over the family business. She was cutthroat, goal oriented, and constantly focused on how to get ahead in the world. In contrast, Haru was a psychology major and Oh Nam Joo’s stoic but sweet best friend. He was always in the library and spent most of his time tutoring other students. Compared to the eccentric and naive Oh Nam Joo, he was the “mature” friend who kept both their heads on straight. It wasn’t lost on Dan Oh how suspiciously close Haru’s setup was to his actual personality.
The author’s newest comic was an attempt at more mature storytelling, following the lives of various university students as they made their way through the trials and tribulations of adulthood. To put it simply, it was drama bait. But the dramatic tone of “These Fragile Hearts” gave the characters way more freedom than the predictably cheesy plot of “Secret”. Not only were there multiple protagonists this time, but a much larger cast of named supporting characters meaning…they were safe. Eun Dan Oh’s days were no longer numbered due to a heart condition and Haru wasn’t unnamed Student 13. Outside of Dan Oh’s ongoing family theatrics and Haru’s chemistry void romance with Yeo Joo Da (now a biology major and nothing more than an extra herself) they had all the time in the world to meet up in the shadows. Even on stage, they had a lot of scenes together— sometimes entire conversations. They were fine with playing their parts. In comparison to before, they practically had all the alone time in the world.
Eun Dan Oh became a regular visitor of Oh Nam Joo and Haru’s cramped studio apartment. They only had one pullout couch, a coffee table, and a few foldable chairs, but that was more than enough furniture for three people. Oh Nam Joo was surprisingly chill with Dan Oh’s presence after she was introduced as Haru’s “friend from middle school” and eventually just gave her the extra key so she could let herself in. If she got off first, Dan Oh usually hung around and cleaned up to keep herself busy until Haru got home. After inevitably helping him lead his overly emotional (and sometimes drunk) roommate to bed, they would head out every night without fail. Some nights they went on roadtrips in an attempt to map out just how far their small, fictional world went. Others, they sat in front of their tree and stared up at the stars. Whether their time together was full of conversation or entirely silent, Eun Dan Oh appreciated all of it. Haru was the one to finally put into words how it felt to be in such a fortunate situation, how lucky the two of them were to have one another after going through so much: extraordinary.
It felt greedy to ask for more. But something was missing. Something that felt like it should have been obvious given the fact that Eun Dan Oh remembered almost everything about both “Secret” and “Trumpet Flower”. The small gaps in her memory mocked her, just specific enough to feel significant. After she found Haru, most of her memories came back in waves. There were only a few things that didn’t click and Dan Oh hated it. What could she still be missing? Sometimes she encountered a new, vaguely familiar face and wondered if they were the key to unlocking everything. She’d stomp over to the large library near her apartment and scour the shelves for an explanation. Maybe it was another lifetime she’d lost. Maybe it was something even scarier. Whatever it was, Eun Dan Oh didn’t want to be caught by surprise ever again. Even finding the hardcover copy of “These Fragile Hearts” hidden deep within the psychology department’s library didn’t help much. For days and then weeks, Dan Oh kept an eye out for something strange. She all but gave up…and then one day an extra ran past her, the angle of the sun’s rays just bright enough to shield his face. Someone who was probably not only nameless but also faceless. Without knowing who he was she knew. This was the person she’d been looking for.
After that day Eun Dan Oh kept her eyes out for any and every extra that walked by. She could recognize almost all of them after a week of people watching. There was one girl who had a very obvious (and unrequited) crush on Oh Nam Joo, another student who loved to feed the pigeons every morning, a man who held the door for the main characters during almost every scene without ever being acknowledged otherwise, and many more. None of them had names. Dan Oh went out of her way to speak to them but of course none of the extras she befriended were ever the extra she was looking for. When Eun Dan Oh did finally find him, it was entirely by chance.
“Watch out!” A student carrying a large pile of books and loose leaf paper flew down the library hallway and directly into Eun Dan Oh’s line of sight.
The man scurried out of the way just in time to not knock her over, but his stack of books wobbled precariously. Dan Oh couldn’t even see his face behind the comically tall barrier of reading material. In a single moment, her curiosity got the better of her and she made the decision to try something dumb. Moving one finger closer, Eun Dan Oh poked the stack of books. It immediately toppled to the ground and into a pile beside them.
The man sighed and stared at his books dejectedly. “I can’t believe this…I’m gonna be late to my nine thirty.”
He ran his fingers through his fluffy blondish-brown hair and glared at the pile through huge, circular glasses. He was…pouting? His facial expression could only be described as similar to that of a kicked puppy. Eun Dan Oh almost felt bad. He quickly looked back up at her with panicked eyes.
“None of those hit you, right? Are you okay?” Both his hands were in his hair and he looked like the picture book definition of “stressed college student”.
Eun Dan Oh stopped staring and crouched down, handing him the book closest to her with a smile. “No, I’m fine. What’s your name?”
“I’m—uh, why do you ask?” he replied meekly. So he didn’t have a name. Eun Dan Oh looked him up and down once again.
This wasn’t one of the extras she often saw around campus. The pastel pink button up and grey jeans he wore both seemed to be in pristine condition, as if he hadn’t worn them for even a day. He wrung his hands together awkwardly and refused to look Eun Dan Oh in the eyes. Just based upon their first meeting, she could tell this character didn’t have many friends. He was probably a studious type, only around to ensure that the main characters were conveniently partnered with a genius during group projects. Nothing particularly interesting stood out about him until Dan Oh glanced at the papers scattered around them. Was that sheet music?
“Do you play the violin?” Eun Dan Oh asked suddenly.
“Yes…?”
“Do you have an older brother?” She picked up another book, some manhua with a smiling couple and cherry blossoms on the cover. “And do you read cheesy comics like this often?”
The boy scoffed. “Cheesy? I’ll have you know these ‘cheesy’ comics actually give really good pointers on how to navigate young love, and you sure weren’t complaining when I let Haru borrow one back in high sc— wait. Who’s Haru?”
Eun Dan Oh covered her mouth with both hands and gasped. Everything fell back into place.
“Lee Do Hwa?!”
Her shout rang throughout the halls and several students looked up in annoyance. She didn’t care. How could she have forgotten him? Lee Do Hwa, the second male lead of “Secret”, one third of A3, and most importantly, one of her best friends. She threw herself into the taller man and hugged tight.
“I finally found you! I can’t believe it took this long!” Her words were high pitched and brimming with joy.
“Wait,” Lee Do Hwa briefly pushed her away to get a better look and his eyes widened in recognition. “Eun Dan Oh?!”
She bobbed her head excitedly. “In the flesh!”
Lee Do Hwa looked around the room with heightened awareness, slowly putting the pieces of his past back together. “Shit. Does this mean I’m not the main character?”
- - -
Haru was just as excited to meet the freshly reborn Lee Do Hwa— almost enough to forgive him and Eun Dan Oh for getting banned from the library for excessive noise. Dan Oh could hear him fussing through the phone the moment she announced the good news, undoubtedly rushing to clean his flat and cook a meal big enough for four people. When they arrived the once unnavigable space was spotless and a military sized pot of spaghetti was cooking on the stove. Dan Oh didn’t even remember them owning any dishes that big. Haru wasn’t one to be underestimated on a regular day, but a worried, nagging Haru? The author themself probably feared him.
Lee Do Hwa immediately made himself at home, plopping down next to Eun Dan Oh on the tiny couch and sighing dramatically.
“Haruuu!” He whined. “I haven’t seen you in ages and this is the greeting I get?”
A light turned off in the bathroom and Haru’s head of wavy black hair peeked through the doorway. He wore neon green rubber gloves and had probably just finished deep cleaning every corner of the room.
“Dan Oh, is that you?” Haru dusted off his baby blue hoodie and looked up, mouth gaping. “Lee Do Hwa?!”
“Are you that shocked? I know I’m not the adorable second male lead anymore but can’t a man wear glasses every once in a while?” He started pouting again. Eun Dan Oh rolled her eyes.
“No, it’s nothing bad,” Haru smiled reassuringly. “You just look…different.”
Do Hwa fell into Dan Oh as if he’d been shot in the chest. “That’s even worse! Just say I look like a nerd, it’ll hurt less!”
Haru sauntered into the living room and squoze his way into the middle of the couch, immediately putting distance between Eun Dan Oh and Lee Do Hwa. Do Hwa's pout only widened.
“You look like a nerd.” He stared at his friend’s face for a few seconds. “And your hair’s brighter now. It’s basically blonde.”
“It’s chestnut brown…” Do Hwa replied heavily as if the words pained him.
“No, it’s blonde.” Eun Dan Oh said, reaching over to pat his hand with a smile. “And you do look like a nerd—”
“First you tell me I’m an extra and now this? Is nothing sacred?”
“That being said, I think it looks cute! And we missed you! So who cares if you look like a labradoodle.” She reached her arms around Haru for a group hug. Do Hwa hummed annoyedly.
“I guess I missed you guys too. Even though you keep rubbing your happy relationship in my face.” Do Hwa said, completing the hug. Haru squirmed in place and patted his friend’s head awkwardly.
- - -
In the days following their reunion, Lee Do Hwa had somehow weaseled his way out of a two year lease to, in his words, “the shittiest apartment known to man” and made preparations to move in with Haru and Oh Nam Joo. Eun Dan Oh couldn’t begin to explain how he managed something like that. Oh Nam Joo shouldn’t have even remembered him in the first place? But they’d hit it off immediately and under a week later Do Hwa was sleeping on the pullout couch. He claimed it was his natural charm, but Dan Oh was pretty sure it had something to do with the fact that they were lifelong friends in a past life. No other character really remembered anything past Do Hwa’s name, but that didn’t stop him from giving a running commentary before and after every scene.
Eun Dan Oh’s fiance in “These Fragile Hearts” was, of course, Baek Gyeong. As always he didn’t like her back, but unlike before her character was almost entirely to blame for it. Where he was kind and vulnerable, Eun Dan Oh was cold and constantly toeing the line between oblivious and downright cruel. There were more scenes than Dan Oh could count where Baek Gyeong planned a lovely dinner or picnic for the two of them only for her to stand him up for work. It wasn’t surprising that his character arc revolved around a secret romance between him and the much more affectionate Shin Sae Mi (and yes, they were the main couple). Eun Dan Oh had absolutely no interest in dating Baek Gyeong, but every time the two leads exchanged knowing glances right in front of her she wanted to gag. They could at least flirt in private! Why was infidelity okay just because it was the main characters sneaking around?! When Lee Do Hwa found out her predicament, he laughed so hard he got a stitch in his side.
“Oh my god, stop talking. Please, I’m gonna fucking choke,” Do Hwa wheezed out in between his laughter.
“Is my life a game to you?! I have to watch Baek Gyeong and Sae Mi make googly eyes at each other everyday. Everyday!” Eun Dan Oh exclaimed, throwing a fluffy pillow at the taller man’s head. “My character’s too cool to get cheated on, I made my own uncle step down from Eun Enterprises with one threat and a glare. But somehow I’m too blind to see the extremely blatant PDA going on right in front of me? What kind of writing is that!”
“Maybe you just don’t mind it? Your character’s kind of in a metaphorical love affair with work so—“
“Please don’t ever call it that, I’ll actually gag.”
“And in their defense…” Do Hwa started, clearing his throat. “Aren’t you kind of in the same boat? You and Haru are like, fated soulmates. And you go on secret journeys every night. And basically live together.” He smiled knowingly and Dan Oh shoved him to the other side of the couch.
“Me and Haru have tried breaking up with our canon counterparts a billion times. We used to do it every other day in hopes they’d remember somehow. Baek Gyeong and Yeo Joo Da just aren’t self aware yet so until then we have to wait.”
Lee Do Hwa nodded and opened his mouth to reply before shutting it. He suddenly looked up to stare at Eun Dan Oh.
“Yeo Joo Da?” Do Hwa’s eyes were wide and Dan Oh was sure that if he were a puppy his ears would be raised in attention right about now.
“Yes, Yeo Joo Da. Her and Haru are the second most important couple in the entire comic.” Eun Dan said, frowning sympathetically. Do Hwa forced a laugh to relieve the tension.
“That sounds…boring.”
“You know I can hear you, right?” Haru’s muffled shout came through the bedroom door where he was studying. Lee Do Hwa shrugged.
“I mean you’re not wrong.” Dan Oh agreed. “They’re super vanilla, who wants to read about a couple with no conflict?”
“Do you think—“ Do Hwa looked down. “Do you think I should talk to her? Introduce myself?” Eun Dan Oh scooted closer and pat his shoulder. She honestly felt for him. At least in ”Secret” Yeo Joo Da was aware that Lee Do Hwa existed. There was no telling how much she knew of their past life or if she’d even be able to remember Lee Do Hwa between scenes. But if Do Hwa was anything, he was likeable. Dan Oh knew that if he put his mind to it he’d make himself known soon enough.
Lost in thought, Dan Oh didn’t hear the telltale sound of Haru opening his bedroom door and coming out to the living area. He gently moved Eun Dan Oh to the side and inserted himself firmly in the middle of the couch once again.
“I think you should do it.” Haru said, opening his notebook and getting right back to studying. “You have a name now. That’s a start, right?”
Haru was smiling brightly at Lee Do Hwa and Eun Dan Oh could tell he was trying to convey his approval and other unsaid emotions in just that look. How thankful he was to have Do Hwa around even if he didn’t say much, how well he personally understood such a tragic situation. And just like Haru had Do Hwa and Dan Oh back then, Do Hwa had them now. They were the Three Musketeers and even if Yeo Joo Da didn’t recognize him at first they’d help him through it. Just the three of them had done things way more difficult. They’d changed fate multiple times, in comparison this was nothing.
“Thank you, Haru. It’s not that I still like her but…She’s important to me, you know? I still feel kind of responsible to make sure she’s okay. I know that’s selfish of me.” Do Hwa sighed and stared at the ceiling. “Why are feelings so complicated. I wish I could just have an affair like everybody else.”
Eun Dan Oh grabbed the pillow and reached across Haru to whack Do Hwa again.
“Asshole.”
“But you guys love me!” He pouted.
Haru hummed but didn’t make a single move to stop Eun Dan Oh’s onslaught of pillow attacks. “I guess you’re right about that.”
Eun Dan Oh finally put her weapon down and glared. “If not for the fact that I love you and it would make Haru sad, I would smite you where you stand.”
Lee Do Hwa stuck out his tongue, only to hop off the couch and dash away when Dan Oh grabbed one of Haru’s three inch thck textbooks. They chased each other around the cramped apartment and Haru closed his notebook in defeat. His studying would have to wait until another time.

What are your most favorite/recommended dramas? I've honestly only have watched 4 cause never know where to start once I finish one. Thank you!! 💕
Sorry of the late reply ❤
Here’s a “few” dramas that I enjoyed. Some of them fall into more than one category so I’ve written what categories I feel they fall into for each one. I’m going to write the amount of episodes for each show, but I’ll only be counting by (approx.) hour, so if the drama has 32 episodes where each “episode” is half an hour, I’ll write it as 16 episodes. Also some of these have several names, so I’ve just used the one they use on mydramalist. I’ve bolded my favourites.
This list might seem a bit daunting (as it is quite long) but I recommend looking at the specific genres you know you enjoy and just pick one you think seems interesting (there’s no shame in dropping a drama if it doesn’t grip you). If you can’t decide which one to start first, send me a message with the ones you’re trying to choose between and I’ll help you decide ^^
Action/suspense/Crime:
Bad Guys: 11 episodes, Action, Thriller, Psychological. A police detective gathers a team of criminals to combat crime in exchange for reducing their sentence. Throughout the drama, secrets are revealed.

A man who was wrongfully sentenced to death when he was younger escapes from prison and fakes his identity as a police officer to help prove his innocence.  (Just a heads up: I don’t think a lot of people liked this drama (it gets a bit draggy in the middle). I liked it, but I think that’s an unpopular opinion)
Kill It: 12 episodes, Action, Thriller. Kim Soo Hyun is a veterinarian who is also a professional killer. One day he is hired in exchange for information about his past. At the same time a detective is trying to find Kim Soo Hyun. They both uncover a mystery regarding their shared past.

Conversation
Ban Ryu: Who broke it? I’m not mad, I just want to know.
Ah Ro: I did. I broke it -
Ban Ryu: No. No, you didn’t. Soo Ho?
Soo Ho: Don’t look at me, look at Yeo Wool!
Yeo Wool: What?! I didn’t break it!
Soo Ho: Huh, that’s weird. How’d you even know it was broken?
Yeo Wool: Because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken!
Soo Ho: Suspicious.
Yeo Wool: No, it’s not!
Hansung: If it matters, probably not but… Ji Dwi was the last one to use it.
Ji Dwi: Liar! I don’t even drink that crap!
Hansung: Oh really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
Ji Dwi: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles. Everyone knows that, Hansung!
Ah Ro: Let’s not fight, I broke it. Let me pay for it.
Ban Ryu: No. Who broke it?
Dan Se: Sun Woo's been awfully quiet…
Sun Woo: Really?!
Dan Se: Yeah, really!
Ban Ryu: I broke it. It burned my hand so I punched it. I predict ten minutes from now they’ll be at each other’s throats with warpaint on their faces and a pig head on a stick. Good. Its was getting a little chummy around here.
