Bonnie is leaning over him. She flaps a hand in the air above his head. “Damon. Damon! Open your eyes.”

He squints into the sun. “Where am I?”

“The pavement.”

He swivels his head to survey the surroundings, and his brow deepens. “Is this…Mystic Falls? Do I... know you?”

Bonnie crosses her arms over her chest. “Not funny, Damon. Get up.”

“Excuse me?”

“Elena,” Bonnie calls over her shoulder, “Speak some sense into him please.”

Elena, followed by Caroline, walk the few paces across the town square to the man’s outstretched form. His eyes widen. “Katherine?”

“What!?”

He tries, and fails, to push himself up. “Why are you wearing such a garment?”

Elena stares down at him, dumbstruck. “Uh. Bon? Did the spell do something weird?”

“Maybe!? I touched his hand and there was a shock.” She scrunches her nose. “Then he fell backwards but I assumed he was being a dramatic asshole.”

Bright eyes stretch to an obscene size. “A dramatic…what?”

“Damon,” Bonnie begins, slowly, as though he is testing every inch of her patience, “If this is a joke, cut it out now.”

“I am not in jest, I assure you. Would somebody please be so kind as to tell me what is happening?” He twists his head, focusing the intensity of his gaze on Elena. “Katherine. Why do they address you as ‘Elena?’”

Elena looks at Bonnie. Bonnie looks at Elena. It’s Caroline who says, “Oh fuck.”

I never seen vampire diaries. But I love Kat Graham. And she and damon look beautiful together. Are they really canon in the books? I heard the actress got a lot of shit in the show.

Yes, Bamon are canon in the books. They are soul sisters, like Stelena. Unfortunately, the books have still not been finished by L.J Smith (who despite being fired, wrote part of the TVD sequel unofficially as fanfiction). I hope one day she will finish the story, like she did with Nightworld. And yes, Kat Graham apparently endured a lot of shit on set. In any case, what is certain is that her character was treated like shit. It's very annoying. I recommend @lady-corrine blog, she talks very well about books and bamon !
