Marvel added Web of Spider-Man to the Spider-Man line of titles that already included The Amazing Spider-Man and Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man. The first issue had a cover date of April, 1985. The issue introduced the Vulturians (Honcho, Gripes, Pigeon, and Sugar Face) created by Louise Simonson and Greg LaRocque. This issue played into the symbiote lore as Spider-Man was saved by the symbiote that appeared to die. However, in later issues we learn that the symbiote had survived and it bonded with Eddie Brock.
