why don’t you dance badly in front of your bedroom mirror wearing flowy black clothing to feel like something between a dancer and a ninja and realise at heart you’re still the same kid who used to do the exact same thing and that little kid isn’t gone you’ve just changed (maybe not always for the better but that’s just the way life is) and. well maybe you won’t calm down but perhaps you’ll feel something inside you click and you’ll feel simultaneously more at peace & filled with a strange sort of melancholy homesickness for the past (which you can never return to no matter how hard you try)
#elli rambles#also slightly off topic maybe but I’ve been taking jiu-jitsu classes for over three years now and I haven’t had any dance ones for the same#amount of time but I did have those for the bigger part of my childhood#(I wasn’t good at it but neither am I at jiu-jitsu. I often feel like a clumsy toddler both when dancing and at practice but I do it for the#fun of it so whatever)#and it’s fun to see traces of those sports in the way I do the other#like I’ll make an arm movement while dancing and recognise it as a shuto uchi#(it’s one of the first strikes I learned and at training I use it more often than any of the other atemi without realising it)#or I’ll evade with a turn that’s slightly too elegant to be fully practical#but I’ll do it unconsciously bc it’s familiar (I learned it in ballet class when I was nine)#idk. having feelings about stuff#m

Some Common Challenges Faced with Ballet Costumes
Ballet costumes are an integral part of the performance, adding to the beauty, emotion, and storytelling of the dance. However, these costumes also bring a set of challenges that dancers, costume designers, and dance studios frequently need to navigate. From the dance studios bustling with young enthusiasts in Alexandria to professional stages worldwide, managing ballet costumes requires attention to detail, care, and creativity. This blog explores the common hurdles faced with ballet costumes, particularly focusing on issues pertinent to dance studios in Alexandria and their classes for young kids and toddlers.
1. Fit and Comfort
One of the primary concerns with ballet costumes is ensuring they fit well and allow dancers the freedom to move without restriction. Poorly fitted costumes can restrict movement or cause discomfort, which is particularly problematic in dance classes for young kids in Alexandria, where comfort can significantly impact a child's ability to learn and enjoy dance.
2. Durability vs. Delicacy
Ballet costumes are often made from delicate materials that contribute to their aesthetic appeal. However, these materials can be prone to tearing, staining, or wearing out quickly, especially when used frequently in classes like a ballet class for toddlers in Alexandria. Balancing durability with delicacy is a significant challenge for costume designers.
3. Maintenance
Keeping ballet costumes clean and in good repair is another ongoing challenge. Costumes need to be washed carefully to avoid damage, and some may require special cleaning techniques or professional services, adding to the upkeep costs for dance studios.
4. Quick Changes
During performances, dancers often have very little time to change costumes between pieces. This necessitates costumes that are not only easy to move in but also quick to put on and take off. Designing costumes that meet these functional requirements without compromising on the visual appeal is a challenge.
5. Cost
High-quality ballet costumes can be expensive due to the materials and craftsmanship involved. For dance studios in Alexandria, managing the cost while maintaining a wardrobe of beautiful, functional costumes for students can be particularly challenging.
6. Size Variability
With dance classes for young kids in Alexandria, there is a significant variability in sizes and growth rates. Studios must frequently update their costume inventories to accommodate growing children, which can be costly and logistically challenging.
7. Allergies and Skin Sensitivities
The materials used in some ballet costumes can cause allergic reactions or irritate sensitive skin. This is especially a concern in ballet classes for toddlers in Alexandria, where young skin is more vulnerable. Selecting hypoallergenic and skin-friendly fabrics becomes crucial.
Conclusion
At Just Dance, we understand the joy and the challenges that come with ballet costumes. We strive to provide our dancers with costumes that are not only beautiful and representative of the art of ballet but also practical for both training and performance. Our commitment extends beyond the dance floor as we aim to enhance the experience of each dancer, ensuring that they can perform their best while dressed in attire that supports their artistry. Whether you are a parent looking for ballet classes for young kids in Alexandria or a seasoned dancer, remember that the right costume does more than just dress a dancer—it enhances, empowers, and exemplifies the beauty of dance.
Here is an image of a variety of ballet costumes hanging in a dance studio, depicting the elegance and complexity these garments bring to the world of dance:

⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆
Xavier:
Your husband is always sleepy but the big day for your daughter's performance he was up and early. He would try to help with your daughter's hair but eventually it got tangled and messy so you had to excuse him and let you do all the work. Before you went to recital area, he would take you both to your daughter's favorite restaurant before she performs so she's full.
Your daughter would be really nervous performing but Xavier was always there to reassure her. His gentle words and encouragements helped calm any nerves and made the moment and their bond extra special. He would also bring her favorite plushie since birth to help calm her down before they went to the stage. He would also remind her that if they truly didn't want to perform then she didn't have too.
When your daughter does perform, he would have the biggest smile ever as he watches her gracefully dance across the stage. He would have his camera ready and only zoomed in on her.
After the performance, when your child runs to you both, he’ll lift them up into a warm, celebratory hug, showering them with compliments and expressing how incredibly proud he is of them for performing so bravely, despite their nerves.
Zayne:
He would cancel and move any appointments with his patients on the following day of his child's performance. Any checkups or surgeries would have to wait so he could be watch his little baby perform.
He would settle into the seat right next to you and chat while waiting for the curtains to open. When your child steps onto the stage, she'll scan the audience. When she sees you and Zayne, she'll be beaming with a smile. You and your child know how often Zayne would be busy due to his schedule but he always tries to find the time for you and your child. If he couldn't, he would always try to make up for it.
As he watches your child performs, he would be flooded with so much nostalgic memories. From the early days of ultrasound pictures to their first steps, first words, and now performing on a stage, each milestone has been a cherished memory for you both. His pride in your child is so profound that his usually stoic expression melts into a wide smile.
When the performance is over, your child would run up to you both giving you each a big hug. He would shower compliments to your daughter telling them they did so well and the outfit that you made for them is amazing. Would also have a bouquet of flowers ready for your child after the performance. When you guys get home, you both would prepare a dinner that your child's favorite to celebrate their beautiful performance.
Rafayel:
He could not be more excited to watch your little baby perform on the stage. He was the type of dad that would go to their practice and watch them perform. If he didn't get a chance to attend their practice then he would ask what new moves or what they learned at home. He would also learn the new moves with them just in case they forgot or so they don't feel embarrassed.
You and Rafayel would design their outfits and your daughter would literally have the most prettiest outfits compared to all the other girls.
You both would be front row and center so your child can see you both. He would have the biggest smile as you both watched your child dance across the stage. He would enthusiastically dance along in his seat, ready to offer a reassuring nod or subtle guidance if his child happened to forget any moves during their recital.
When the performance ended and your child ran to you both, he would scoop them up, spin them around, and shower them with kisses, all while expressing how incredibly proud he was of them. He would also take a million photos and videos before, during, and after the show.
Sylus:
The feared Onychinus leader appearing at his children's recital. He wouldn't dare to miss it! Yes he may be a leader but that can all be put aside for now because he will try to be there for his child whenever he can.
You and Sylus would be wearing matching outfits that your daughter has chosen for the both of you as a 'good luck' charm. Obviously how can he say no to you or your little baby? Whether that outfit is ridiculous or not, he'll still proudly show it off.
He would bring his daughter's uncles, Luke and Kieran to the recital. Luke, Kieran, and your daughter begged you both if they could come. They're the second biggest fans of your child, you and Sylus being the first. They both would cheer and clap the loudest to let them know that your child was the best one there.
When your child was finished performing, your child would run up to you both giving you a big hug and then her uncles a big hug. He would twirl your child around telling them how wonderful they look and how wonderful they performed before giving them a bouquet of flowers.
You all would go to your child's favorite restaurant, letting them order whatever they wanted. When you all go home you all watch the recorded videos that Sylus recorded so they can see how well they did and maybe they'll even perform an encore.

“Maman?” Your two year old daughter babbled, her hands moving up and down and fingers balled up to a fist—creating a grabby hand like gesture.
Motioning for Charles to carry her to which he gladly obliges.
“Yes, mon bébé, we are going to see maman” Charles said in a toddler like voice and then proceeds to twirl her in the air earning a cutesy giggle from their daughter.
“Stop, papa” she laughed, gripping tightly onto charles’ shirt to avoid slipping off his embrace. “Okay, okay, i’ll stop in one condition.”
Charlotte cocked her head to the side curiously; waiting for her dad to continue.
“With a kiss” Charles added, grinning mischievously as he stared at their daughter’s expression. Her once curious gaze turned into happy ones after hearing his “condition.”
“No papa, kisses are only for maman” she shook her head a ‘no’ and rested both her hands on her tiny hips.
She was trying to look intimidating but with her doey face she just looked like a bunny trying to act tough.
With that Charles erupted into a fit of laughter at their daughter’s movements. Making charlotte lean her head to the side and looked at her dad confusingly— thinking what made him laugh like that.
“What are you guys doing? Have you even finished getting ready?”
Charles freezes, hearing a familiar voice that came from the corner of the room to where the door was— and let me tell you; that voice does not sound happy. At all.
“Ah mon amour, yes we’ve finished” he chucked dryly.
“But papa, we haven’t put in my bows” she whispered, well she was trying to at least.
“I heard that” Max said, his brows knitted to a frown and hands rested in his hip. Wow like father like daughter.
Charles widened his eyes and scratched the back of his neck, mumbling a low ‘oh hehe’.
Max rolled his eyes, not in a mean way though more like a ‘i am going to kick your ass later’ kind of way. “We’re going to be late” he muttered and carefully took charlotte out of charles’ arms.
“Come on Mijn liefste (my sweet), let’s get you ready”
“Do you need any help, Mon cœur?.” Charles asked, wanting to ease his lover’s anger. He smiled from ear to ear showing of his dimples and of course max can’t resist that look.
He shook his head and playfully rolled his eyes this time, “sure darling”— Charles’ heart then swelled with love at the nickname.
Without a moment to spear the two of them started to fix Charlotte’s bow.
…
Finally, after what felt like forever they had arrive at the theater to where your recital was happening.
They walked along the crowded floor; looking for their reserved seat, and once they spotted their names they soon sat down and waited patiently for the show to start.
…
“Curtains up in five people,” the assistant director yelled, loud enough for only the people in backstage can hear.
You sighed nervously— shaking off the nerves with a few practice Battement tendu. You do that every performance you do, just to let out some of the pre show jitters. It somehow calms your nerves down.
After five minutes was up, the spoke person started to announce the performance and tiny little information about the recital; along with it was the curtains being pulled up to reveal all the ballet dancers including yourself.
The First song was then played and all of you started dance gracefully to the beat of the sound— who ever watched it, will be amazed on how Synchronized you guys were. As if you all were one person that’s playing tricks on their mind making them think that you’re plenty.
Amidst the crowd, there charlotte was. Her eyes fixated on your dancing figure; she was at awe on how beautiful and elegant you look just by dancing alone.
She mindlessly tugged Max’s tux without breaking her eyes off yours.
“Maman is so pretty papa” she mumbled.
Her heart full of adoration for her mom. She wishes she could be there at stage with you and hug you like crazy.
Max smiled, looking at their daughter as she gazed at you; eyes filled with proudness and love. He then tapped Charles on the shoulder and whispered what charlotte said to him.
Now the three of them were smiling brightly.
…
After the show ended, the three of them made their way backstage to your dressing room.
Charles was holding charlotte in his arm but she was quick to go down as soon, as you guys stepped in-front of your door.
She knocked frantically, waiting for you to open the door, when you did she ran as fast as she can and hugged you tightly down your waist.
“Maman, you looked so amazing back there” she yelled, her hug only getting tighter with excitement.
“Merci mon bébé” you smiled, stroking the roof of her head soothingly.
Both Charles and Max went towards you two and kissed the both sides of your cheeks.
“If you were there, you could see how adorable she looked” charles chuckled, making charlotte pout.
“You’re not supposed to say that papa” she grumbled and broke from your embrace and softly hit Charles’ leg.
Max and you giggled at the two; seeing them ‘fight’ was the cutest thing ever. At that moment you were so happy to have them, if you were to choose to replay one memory it would be this— the laughter from both your husbands and the pouty face of your daughter. Everything was just so perfect.

aaron helping out with little ellie’s ballet class shows whether it’s behind the stage, helping coach them, helping with lighting or stage props
he’s such stage dad material and as jack isn’t interested in it he gets to experience it with ellie for the first time as she does her ballet classes as a toddler
he’d so try to learn how to make and sew costumes for the shows or how to direct or help with music
and he’d invite the whole of the bau, his entire family & friends too and jack & haley’s side of the family as ellie has been raised around them too and they consider her family too
and afterwards, aaron always greets his baby girl with a huge hug, huge smile & kiss and a big bouquet of pink roses & giant teddy before taking her and jack out to their fave kid friendly restaurant
aaron being equally involved with ellie in dance as he is for jack and soccer <333
i can see him being a bit worried about ellie feeling overlooked, like he's jack's soccer coach, so they spend a lot of time together, and he wants to show up for ellie just as much. it starts off with him just simply taking her to dance class, but then he finds more ways to be involved the longer she's at the studio - applicable with his tight schedule of course. plus he never realized how much he would love being a dance dad 😭 it's a whole new experience and he loves seeing ellie shine in something she loves to do.
aaron's totally the behind the stage dad 😭 he has a headset for cues; he's making sure every dancer is ready to go, gets on stage at the right moment, stays hydrated, gives them little pep talks if they're nervous 🥺🥹 he's just everyone's dance dad and everyone simply adores him 😭 but also, since there's multiple recitals, he does set aside one to be in the audience with you and jack, to actually watch the show and to see his ellie bellie dance her little heart out 🥹 and he's 100% filming too 🥹💓💞💓
making costumes!!! he stitches and sequins and sews on the jet, using the downtime to his advantage 😭 just as he does when he's figuring out soccer plays for jack's team. hehe the team clowns him a bit for it🤭, because who would they be if they didn't ??? but as everyone's getting sleep or doing their own thing, aaron's sat in the corner with the overhead light on, sewing ellie's costumes <3🥰
and omg you can bet the bau is front row at the performances. sean comes!! and haley's family too 🥹 they love her just as much as they love jack, they have even before she was born. and again with jessica having kids of her own, ellie LOVES her cousins. hehe after the recital she sees them and her whole little face lights up, running towards them to give soo many hugs <3
aaron's just the most proud dad ever, he can't stop smiling 🥹 for every single performance, he'll get ellie a bouquet of flowers, one that'll sit proudly in her room next to all the pictures of her in her dance costumes 🥰 speaking of, her whole room is themed to ballet too 🥹 and sticking to ellie's love for her chucky doll LOL, he has that in hand waiting for her too (it's mainly brought to soothe any nerves she may have prior to her performance) 🥰🥰 hehe he scoops her up in his arms and tells her how amazing she did, and how proud he, you and jack are of her 🥹💞💓💞💓 after too, he sticks around for clean up, makes sure every kid is accounted for and has found their family amidst the crowd, and then you'll all go out for a treat or dinner and a treat 🥰💓💞

You should write about how the greasers would be as fathers
Summary: The greasers as fathers
Warnings: none
Authors Note: none
PONYBOY would be a great father, a little absent-minded and dreamy, but still, a great father. He's always there for the kids, he's got those crazy spider reflexes that kick in when something happens. He'll need a little help getting used to parenthood, but everyone does and he's quite a quick learner. He also loves loves the idea of dressing up his kid, he thinks baby clothes are sooo cute and funny because they're tiny.
JOHNNY wouldn't be as great of a dad as Pony. He deals with a lot of trauma, especially surrounding the topic of family. He tries really hard, but sometimes, he slips up. He gets the hang of it but he's always thinking about how he could be better. He adores his kids, always trying to put them first. He has also gotten really adept at doing hair, from mowhawks to braids he knows how to do it.
SODAPOP would be a great dad. He would have such a carelessness but attentiveness that makes him seem like a pro. He's always tries to interact with his kids for a couple hours a day, but his work is constantly making it hard for him. He's constantly trying to take the kids out of school early when it's a special occasion. He loves to pull up in his beaten up pickup and take them out for drives.
STEVE would also be a great dad. He would be more strict however. He tries to make sure they have a childhood that is nothing like his, steering them far away from bad influences. He and Sodapop often take their kids out for playdates or hangouts and they just chat about their lives. He loves doing sports with the kids, even if she does ballet he'll definitely do one of those daddy daughter ballet dances.
TWO BIT would be the funniest dad. He'd always have jokes to brighten the mood and teaches a lot of it to his kids. People always remark about how his family is always so bright and cheery. He would be an amazing girl dad too. He's always doing things with the kids behind your back, buying them toys they shouldn't have, getting them gum when they're told no more sweets etc.
DARRY would be good at raising kids. But only preteens and above. He's had little to no experience with babies because his mother always took care of it. He's so never when his kid is a baby/toddler. He always thinks that he's going to break them or mess up and he's a total mess. However, as he starts to get the hang of it he relaxes completely. He's a perfect balance of strict and fun that stemmed from him raising his own brothers.
DALLAS would be an unbearable dad. He probably would be a dead beat, unless you got him to shape up. He wouldn't be a good dad then either. He relies solely on you doing things for the kids and would rather lounge around and complain. His kid would stop him from cheating though. Dallas seriously loves you and his kid, but only a MAJOR wakeup call would get him to snap out of his weird idea of a family.

Natasha gently fixed your tiny pink tutu, making sure your hair was all neat. Natasha and Bucky wanted to get you started in ballet early, you loved watching Natasha do it and would always try and copy her.
Natasha grinned and stepped back, taking a second to look at you in your adorable ballet outfit. “Look at you, my little love! You look just like Mama!”
Bucky smiled widely and picked you up, spinning you around. “Look at my little ballerina! You ready for your first class?”
You nodded eagerly and sucked your pacifier, giggling softly as both Natasha and Bucky complimented you. “Ballerina.”
Natasha nodded and kissed your little cheek, grabbing your tiny ballet shoes. “That’s right, Y/N! You are a ballerina! You’re so adorable.”
You sat down on the floor as Natasha crouched down in front of you, helping you put your ballet shoes on your tiny feet. You were so impatient, you just wanted to start dancing already. “Dance like Mama.”
Natasha chuckled, tying your ballet shoes. “You definitely are going to dance just like Mama! You’re going to be a natural just like me.”
Eventually, you were ready to go, Natasha and Bucky obviously stayed to watch your class. You toddled over to your parents and smiled. “Mama, Daddy, watch.”
Natasha chuckled and nodded, kissing your forehead. “We’re watching, sweetheart!”
Bucky nodded in agreement and tickled you slightly, causing you to let out a giggle. “We are going to be watching the whole time, baby doll.”
You giggled again and toddled back over to the ballet teachers and other little toddlers who were in the class. You were eagerly showing your teacher your pointed toes, you had been practising them a lot with Natasha.
The teacher smiled and gave you a fairy clap. “Look at your pointed toes, Y/N! You must have been practising before you got here.”
You nodded and grinned, pointing your tiny toes again. “With Mama. Ballerina.”
The teacher chuckled, nodding her head in amusement. She was actually pretty impressed with your pointed toes. “Your Mama must be a very good teacher then because those are some of the most perfect pointed toes I’ve seen!”
You were having tons of fun in your class, even chatting with the other little girls there. You were currently sitting on the floor with a girl, showing her your pointed toes. “See, point.”
The girl nodded slowly and arched her foot. “Point.”
You nodded in agreement, although you knew your pointed toes were better. “Practise.”
There was a point in the class where the other mums were able to join in with the class, helping their daughters with ballet. Natasha had your tiny hands in hers, putting them over your little head. “Step… step… good girl! You’re doing such a good job, N/N!”
Your giggles were contagious, you were having the time of your life. You kept your tiny arms over your head and took small steps like Natasha said. “Ballerina.”
Natasha nodded and smiled, continuing to guide you with the dancing. “Such a perfect little ballerina.”
Bucky was busy trying to take videos from the side, it was your first ballet lesson so he was trying to capture as much as possible. He wanted to keep this mother-daughter moment forever.
The ballet lesson was just as exciting as you had made it out to be, you were finally learning to be a ballerina just like her mama and Natasha couldn’t have been more proud. You were the light of her life, she loved that you wanted to do ballet just like she did. You’d always be her little ballerina.

Since we're posting our Spider-Verse headcanons, Gwen most certainly grew up watching old Barbie movies and now refuses to admit it
It was the only stereotypically girly thing she was into from a young age, and watching 12 Dancing Princesses aged three years old was the push her father needed to get her into ballet
When she and Miles sit with the toddler Billie Mariana watching Life In The Dreamhouse, Gwen can't hide her distaste for this newfangled modern adaptation.
One day she decides that it's time to introduce Billie to the classics, and pulls up at the Morales household with her perfectly preserved VHS tapes.
Billie is delighted, laughing at the creepy animals with their glassy stares and goofy songs, twirling her pink skirts with the princesses on-screen.
At first, Miles laughs at the corniness of it all. But later on he finds himself invested in the simple stories (and Gwen finds his impressions of the melodramatic princes oddly romantic)
Gwen is sure that the animation was not this bad when she was younger? But she enjoys herself anyway, reliving the childhood a life as Spider-Woman tore from her too early.
So much warmth between them... it's here she learns what a family should be like; leaning on Miles's shoulder, Billie plonked at their feet and not a gun in sight.

✧Love Lies✧
BEBE! Kim Taeyoung, aka Tatter x BEBE! F Reader: When finding freedom in dance, your career takes off when being a dancer under SM Entertainment. After a while, you finally joined Bebe as their second oldest member but didn't expect to fall for one of the girls on your team.
✧ Love Lies revolves around the intimate connection between two persons, but these two individuals question the boundaries and feelings for one another throughout the song (mainly seen in the chorus).
Word Count: 4.9k
Note: LOOK HOW PRETTY SHE IS. That's all I had to say😌. Atp, you should just expect this to not be proofread as well.
Character Vision Board
You had danced your way through life from the earliest days you could remember. Even as a toddler, when most kids were taking their wobbly first steps, you were already entranced by the rhythm and movement that surrounded you. Your parents often recounted the story of how, as soon as you could stand, your head would bob and your tiny feet would shuffle in perfect sync with any catchy tune that caught your ear.
It was as if music and dance were etched into your very DNA, despite your parents not being the most agile of dancers themselves. The sound of a drumbeat or the melodies from a radio could always send you into a whirlwind of joyful motions. As you grew older, your passion for dance manifested in various forms. You explored ballet classes, where your grace and poise quickly caught the attention of your instructors. Tap dance, too, was a realm where your feet seemed to possess an innate understanding of intricate rhythms.
It wasn't until your teenage years that you truly recognized your desire to take dance seriously in life. That's when you found your way to hip-hop and street dance, discovering a completely different universe within the realm of movement. The urban beats, the freedom of expression, and the raw energy of these dance forms resonated with your very soul.
However, the years spent in tap and ballet had felt like a trap. While you became a quick favorite among your instructors, it came with a demand for excellence that weighed heavily on your shoulders. You were talented and skilled, which every teacher loved, but it meant you were representing more than just yourself; you were carrying the expectations of your mentors as well. This pressure transformed you into someone reserved, cold, and quiet – the complete opposite of your former self.
You threw yourself back into the world of dance with dedication, spending hours in front of a mirror perfecting your moves and crafting your own unique style. The exploration of new dance styles came as a relief.
It was during this phase that you crossed paths with your best friend, Noze. You both attended the same dance class in Seoul, a class so popular that you had been waitlisted multiple times before finally securing a spot. Throughout the class, you and the now-trendy dancer bonded, and your dance journeys began to intertwine. Noze wasn't the only one renowned for her grace; your own visual appeal started to make waves in the world of K-pop.
Both you and Noze were chosen as backup dancers for Kai's debut, a move you readily accepted to gain recognition for your skills. Little did you expect your striking beauty to catapult you to social media stardom.
Instantly recognizable in public and gaining around 1 million Instagram followers, your presence alongside Kai further solidified your popularity among fans.
While Noze gained more fame through her participation in SWF Season 1, you continued to rise in prominence by consistently accompanying Kai in his performances. During HallyuPopFest, you made a new friend who would once again alter the course of your life.
The Bada Lee.
You and Bada hit it off almost instantly despite the enigmatic connection between the lovable, extroverted Bada and your reserved, introverted persona. You slowly became a prime example of opposites attracting in the dance world. As your friendship blossomed, someone else watched from the sidelines.
Your intimidating demeanor made it challenging to approach you, and Tatter was perplexed by your growing friendship with Bada. Tatter had met you around the same time as Bada, automatically finding you cool. You carried yourself with sophistication, and your laid-back, magnetic aura left an impression.
Your ethereal beauty, in particular, captivated Tatter's attention. She felt a surge of excitement every time you crossed paths in person, even though she had never been prepared for the real thing.
Thus began Tatter's little crush on you. Like Bada, you possessed leader-like qualities, likely owing to your experience and age. Tatter couldn't help but ponder various questions about you.
Were you and Bada close because of your similar ages?
Did your shared dance styles play a role?
Despite having contrasting personalities, how had Bada developed such a strong bond with you?
These questions swirled through Tatter's mind, and she never felt the urge to get closer to you, believing that these events were the only times she'd see you. But she was wrong.
When Bada announced the formation of Bebe and revealed its starting members, Tatter hadn't expected to hear your name. In those moments, she wasn't sure whether to feel happy or anxious, as her emotions were always whirlwind around you.
As someone who often kept to yourself, you never really noticed Tatter's presence until you both began working in Bebe. While working on the crew performance video for "What It Is, " you truly observed her. Witnessing her free-spirited, youthful, yet mature personality during the filming occasionally brought a smile to your face. You were gradually developing a fondness for your younger teammates and their personalities.
However, just as Tatter thought this was her opportunity to become closer to you, someone else beat her to it again. Lusher, the third-oldest member of the team, possessed an outgoing personality that made it easy for you to get comfortable and connect with her.
Tatter had assumed you wouldn't appreciate this dynamic, but she was taken aback when she saw you closely listening to Lusher's stories. Your caring eyes, which she had never seen from you before, were locked onto the younger dancer. For Tatter, it was a heart-wrenching sight.
Why couldn't you look at her like that?
This was only a brief moment because Tatter soon noticed that you were becoming caring with everyone, including her. "Taeyoung-ah? You okay?" Bada inquired, her presence jolting Tatter from her inner musings as she observed the tall dancers before them. "Yes, unnie. Just a bit tired," Tatter replied, offering an explanation for her distracted state.
You, noticing her fatigue, pulled out an energy powder pack from your pocket. "Mix it with your water," you suggested, extending the pack towards her. Bada served as an unspoken translator for you giving the smaller girl a smile, and she accepted the pack with a sense of gratitude. "Thank you."
That marked the first full sentence you had ever uttered to the girl, allowing her to experience your voice up close. The sound of your voice was unexpectedly deep, smooth as velvet.
For the most part, Tatter's interactions with you were limited to these moments, even when you were joining the show with them.
Many of the crews were taken by surprise to see both you and Bada on the same team, considering you were currently among the trendiest figures in the Korean dance scene. Some even speculated that you might be a sub-leader, but during a one-on-one meeting with the taller girl, you politely declined the offer.
"I don't think I fit the sub-leader role," you expressed, taking a sip of your iced tea. Bada began to object, but you stopped her.
"Not with these girls specifically, unnie," you elaborated sincerely. "Lusher is the better pick. Her strong bond with the girls and her caring personality make her the right choice, in this case at least." As a dance teacher, you had experience leading others, but you felt uncertain about your fit within this particular team.
Moreover, the limited chemistry you had with the other members compared to Lusher played a role in your decision.
Bada sighed and sipped her drink, partly saddened by your choice but understanding it based on the explanation. "Fine, I'll tell them tomorrow during class," she conceded, and the two of you continued to chat the night away.
Now, all eight of you sat in the fight zone, the first crew to arrive. Your crew's performance video played on the large screen, and the rest of the girls were astounded by what they saw. Comments from other crews began to pour in, and your emotions were a mix of uncertainty and pride.
The praise initially focused on Bada, acknowledging her as a highly trendy and popular dancer. Then, it shifted to you.
"Y/n is one of the dancers who rose to fame with Kai, right? At the same time as Noze?" Nob from Lady Bounce pointed out, with her team members nodding in agreement. "I'm pretty sure the two are best friends," Biggy added. "So, we have two of the trendiest dancers in Korea on the same team? Do we stand a chance here?" "Clearly not."
"As much as Bada is experienced, Y/n is by far the most versatile on this team," Lia Kim observed, while Harimu couldn't hide her excitement about being on the same show as you. "She's really cool and knows how to capture fans' hearts," 1Million's youngest member said enthusiastically.
Then, the DeepNDap segment returned to the screen, and you braced yourself for what was to come. "She just appeals to the audience because of her pretty face," Mina Myoung commented, a hint of cockiness in her tone. "It's true, though. If she weren't pretty, no one would pay attention to her," Gooseul added, further fueling the critique. You weren't surprised; you had seen how your best friend was treated during the first season, and you had discussed it with her multiple times. So you were well-prepared for the same kind of treatment.
Noze had warned you about it when she found out you'd be on the show. "She doesn't seem to carry herself as a dancer," Yoonji from Mannequeen commented, prompting your annoyance. "All you can really see is her face when she dances." You scoffed at the comment, feeling it was more of a button-pushing tactic. After all, you typically styled yourself similarly to Bada, wearing hats every time you danced.
Bada and you were expected to carry the team, given the comments from some of the other crews. On the other hand, Tatter was affected by the comments about you, as she knew how dedicated and hardworking you were. You couldn't help but notice her change in behavior, assuming it was due to being labeled as "weak students," although it wasn’t the comments of them she was bothered by, it was the comments about you.
"Chin up. Don't let it get to you," you whispered in Tatter's ear, surprising her with the warmth of your breath against her skin. Her face flushed with embarrassment, and she nodded fervently, attempting to conceal her emotions. This worked to her advantage as you patted her back before returning to your seat beside Bada.
The time for no-respect battles had arrived, leaving you with just one sticker and a sense of curiosity about who you'd choose as your opponent. The prospect of engaging in two battles hardly fazed you; in fact, you wished for more challenges. The fact that you only had one sticker, despite some teams undermining your crew, brought a smirk to Bada's lips.
"They're probably afraid of you," Bada commented, rubbing your shoulder, to which you responded with a confident smirk. "If they aren't, I can give them something to be afraid of," you declared, eliciting a laugh from Bada, who was clearly amused by your boldness.
Sitting beside you, Tatter observed the exchange, her emotions in a whirlwind as she witnessed your self-assured demeanor. Your smirk seemed to exude a predatory hunger, and it left her feeling a certain kind of way.
Bada had been the first to battle on your team against 1Million's Ready, setting a victorious tone for the day. The win was a source of motivation for the rest of the crew.
After several more battles, Cera was called onto the stage. She grinned and confidently made her way toward your crew, singling you out. "Y/n, let's dance."
Your crew started hyping you up, and you nodded at Mannequeen's youngest. Your heart raced, aware that Cera excelled in battles and unsure why she had chosen you. Your skill sets were entirely different, creating a buzz of anticipation throughout the studio.
"Cera, why have you picked Bebe's Y/n as your no-respect dancer?" someone from the audience inquired. "I wanna see something new from her," Cera replied with a hint of challenge. "Feels like her style's a bit stale now."
You chuckled lightly. "Let me show you how I dance," you responded nonchalantly, earning admiration from those watching. "I should've bought wedding rings today, one for Bada and one for Y/n," JJ quipped, eliciting laughter from her team. "I'm kind of excited to see what she's gonna show," Minny whispered, pointing at you.
Cera initiated her performance with her iconic slow walk, incorporating her well-known movements. Her impeccable balance on one leg, expressive facial gestures, and powerful arm movements were all familiar, but the audience never grew tired of witnessing her art. As she drew nearer, her perfectly manicured finger traced your jawline, provoking a smirk in response to her gentle touch. Tatter watched, her blood boiling at the sight of this coquettish connection between you and Cera, despite this being your first time performing together.
Tatter couldn't decide if it was the way you stood there, captivating the crowd, or if it was all thanks to Cera's charm that made her uncomfortable.
Regardless, she didn't like it one bit.
"Chill out," Bada whispered to Tatter, noticing her clenched fist and reddening knuckles. She had been aware of Tatter's crush on you, but this level of jealousy was a new and concerning development. Bada wasn't sure if these feelings could potentially interfere with Tatter's mindset during the competition. “I am, unnie. Don’t worry.”
As they chatted, your turn was about to begin, and they heard ‘Run the World (Girls)’ by Beyonce blaring on the speakers. The song begins at the pre-chorus, and a sly grin takes over as you sway your body to the music.
My persuasion can build a nation
Endless power
You begin by pointing at yourself and slowly raise your leg, mimicking Cera’s move perfectly. You follow up with a double Tour en l'Air and hit a fan kick right before the chorus hits. Tatter’s jaw drops at your insane flexibility since she had only seen you do kpop.
Who run the world? Girls! (Girls!)
Your style switches to step dance as the drums become faster, and everyone's eyes widen.
The loud stomps, claps, and shuffles were heard even with the loud music, proving your strength on the stage. Everyone stares at you, never looking away, as you end the dance by mimicking the lyrics, ‘Who run the world? G-G-Girls!’ with a harsh salute thrown nonchalantly. Screams are heard from around, and you bow with tense shoulders, waiting for the judge's deliberation.
As soon as you spot the three light blue cards, you release the most relieved sigh you've had in a while, drowning in the ecstatic cheers from your Bebe crew members. Amid the celebration, Tatter rushes to you, wrapping you in a bone-crushing hug, her face nestled against your upper back, evoking a smile from you.
"We were well aware of Cera's battling prowess, but Y/n, you surprised us all," Mike Song remarks, seamlessly switching to English, earning nods from the other two judges. "Step dance is a rarity in Korea even if it is a competitive dance style, and witnessing it today felt like a breath of fresh air," Shownu adds, reflecting the unanimous sentiment in the studio.
"Y/n, you've shown that your style is anything but stale. It was like a revitalizing force on that stage, powerful and heavy yet refreshing," Monika praises you, prompting multiple bows from you and applause from the audience. "You totally killed it, unnie!" the sub-leader exclaims, her excitement evident as she shakes your arm. You respond with a grateful laugh, and Tatter, standing by your side, can't help but smile, recognizing the new side of yourself you've revealed to them.
You looked like you truly loved dancing.
"You were a monster out there, unnie," Tatter whispers in your ear, her voice filled with awe. You turn to her, taken aback by her bold action and compliment. Your warm smile never fades, and you casually drape your arm over her shoulders, pulling her closer. "Thanks, Tata," you reply, giving her a squeeze on the shoulder. Her face lights up with a blush, pleasantly surprised to hear her nickname from you for the first time.
In the days that followed, your focus shifted to preparing for the kpop mission. Inspired by Bada's triumph in the class mission, the crew's momentum felt unstoppable. On this particular day, the team was hard at work, rehearsing without Bada, who had laid out the dance's framework but left a few details for you to fill in. It appeared that Lusher wasn't at her best today, so you stepped up to assist her in leading the practice.
"Lush, we've got to maintain the pacing and smooth out the transition," you assert, addressing her while also ensuring the rest of the girls hear your guidance. The group makes another attempt, but the coordination is still off. Dancers collide, and a sigh escapes your lips, wearied by the struggle.
"Should I step in for Bada unnie's position while we work through this?" you suggest to the sub-leader, who nods, visibly relieved to have your guidance in this moment of uncertainty.
You counted everyone in and did the Maniac portion of the dance, nailing it more with the sound of the numbers leaving your lips. As you end, you clap, feeling happy once you all have it down. So when Bada came in, and you showed her the dance, she was grateful to see the amazing progress.
“Y/n-ah, can you watch over here with me? I want to see what you think of the first part of Not Shy,” you nod, immediately standing beside her. Bada counts the girls in, and as you try to watch everyone, you find yourself staring at the blond dancer, her confidence never hesitating as she did each move. “So what do you think?” Bada snaps you out of your thoughts.
“We should go a bit harder here,” you say, demonstrating what you’d like to see. “I agree. Let’s fix it up then?” Everyone nods at their leader, as you all kept practicing.
As the moment to showcase the 30-second choreography arrived, a wave of nervousness washed over the younger members. Tsubakill's performance had just concluded, and its strength was undeniable. You couldn't help but acknowledge that it would be a formidable challenge.
When it was Bebe’s turn, everyone was pleased to see the movement, even in awe at the imitation of double doors. It was safe to say you guys secured your place for the JYP battle, but that wasn’t the most frustrating part to come.
During each team’s copy section presentation, you were worried. As your crew added a flip, Tsubakill did as well, and Yumeri was surely confident when doing so. You knew you could’ve done the stunts yourself if needed, but you wanted the other girls to shine. So Tatter was given the hard challenge.
Practice seemed to be going well for you all, but everything began to crumble when it was time to film. As Tatter tries hitting the first flip, she stumbles, even kicking Lusher a little, and it takes every fiber in your body to keep going. Then the second flip comes, and she fails again, her depressed face more evident. Other crews did their best to cheer the girl on, which worked, as you could all finish.
From across the stage, you hurried to reach the girl, gently placing your hands on her shoulders. "Are you okay?" you inquired, concern lacing your voice. She nodded, determined to hold back her tears, and you pulled her into a comforting hug. Having experienced self-disappointment yourself, you knew how painful it could be. "It's okay. You did great, Tata," you assured her, rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her, and it seemed to work, at least momentarily.
As you all took your seats, Tatter sat beside you, head bowed in dejection. Your heart ached at the sight, and you couldn't resist holding her hand, offering silent support. Another hug followed, no words spoken, just the comforting warmth of your embrace and the reassuring patting of her head. She relaxed in response to your touch, leaning in to wrap her arms around your waist and bury her face in your neck.
Your heart raced at the intimacy of the moment, feeling her breath brush against your neck. You tried to push aside the swirling thoughts, knowing that now wasn't the right time, but the connection between you and Tatter had become impossible to ignore.
You never thought of her this way before, so why was it happening now?
Throughout the day, Tatter remained close by your side, clutching your hand like a lost puppy. As the night drew to a close and everyone began packing their bags, you couldn't help but notice Tatter's hesitation to leave the practice room.
Bada, too, seemed to pick up on her reluctance and expressed her concern. Tatter had struggled with her stunts, and although you wanted to assist, you were already occupied, helping the two youngest members of the crew. "Do you plan to stay?" Bada inquired gently, directing your attention to Tatter, who nodded in response.
"Don't overexert yourself, Taeyoung. You'll do good on stage," Bada assured her, patting her back as if suggesting she should head home instead.
"I'll stay with her, unnie," you asserted, placing your belongings back on the floor. Tatter looked at you, a touch of confusion in her eyes, while Bada regarded you with a questioning gaze. "Are you sure? It's already 1 a.m., Y/n."
"I'll make sure she doesn't push herself too hard. I've got it," you reassured the older dancer, and she nodded, placing her trust in you. Once Bada left the room, a quiet atmosphere enveloped the two of you. Tatter appeared somewhat reluctant to begin, but you gently encouraged her, saying, "Come on, let me assist you so I can get you home for some much-needed rest."
You laid out a soft mat in the center for a cushion, patting your hand down on it. "Give it a shot and show me what you've got at the moment," you encouraged. Tatter reluctantly accepted her current limitations and made another attempt at the stunt, but her balance wavered, causing her to fall.
"Try putting more energy into the initial walk. The momentum will carry you through the flip," you suggested. She followed your advice, managing to execute the move, although it appeared somewhat messy at this stage. Without a word, you stepped in, gently taking her arms and guiding her back into the headstand, using your hands to steady her at the waist.
Tatter's cheeks flushed a deep shade of crimson, and it wasn't solely due to the strenuous stunts she had been attempting. No, it was your gentle touch on her exposed skin that sent her heart racing. "You should focus on maintaining a better balance on your head and engaging your core muscles more," you advised her, your fingertips lightly tracing the contours of her abdomen.
She made an effort to follow your guidance, and for a moment, it appeared as though she had improved. However, when you attempted to release your support, she stumbled once more, this time toppling directly onto you.
In an attempt to prevent her from further harm, you swiftly maneuvered your right arm beneath her head. Tatter had her eyes tightly shut, bracing herself for potential pain. But when it didn't come, she cautiously opened her eyes to the sight of you, hovering protectively above her. Your gaze bore a deep concern as you leaned closer, gently moving her blonde strands out of the way.
The room was shrouded in silence, and you couldn't help but wonder why the girl couldn't meet your eyes. Then, the realization struck you—your current position left you both in a somewhat awkward situation, causing a momentary freeze. Tatter, however, slowly fluttered her eyes open, doing her best to appear composed, and you couldn't help but find her stunning. Her golden hair sprawled across the floor, a delicate blush gracing her cheeks, and her lips parted slightly as she caught her breath. You found it difficult to maintain eye contact at that moment, only regaining some semblance of composure when she whispered your name, "Unnie?"
You could almost hear yourself gulping at the whispered tone, meeting her gaze again. “Yes?”
“Thanks for staying with me.” She says, delicately pulling you into a hug, which causes your body to weigh down on hers.
Your mind was now in a frenzy at the close contact, feeling her body on yours. Trying to recover, you stand up quickly, shaking away the feelings. Your arm reaches down, and Tatter gladly accepts the help with a smile, “Come on, you’ll get this down.”
Tatter then does the part again, taking your advice, and lands the headstand and follows it up with the next move. Your eyes widened as she got it down quickly, excitedly clapping for her. She goes in for another hug, which you gladly reciprocate with a chuckle, “I’m proud of you,” you mumble, and Tatter hears the pure, genuine feeling in your voice. “Let’s go now?” You ask her, and she nods.
It had been two days after that night, finally being performance day, but you couldn’t shake away the thoughts of Tatter in your mind. It got you anxious to even step up on stage, but luckily, Tsubakill was first, so you had time to gather yourself together.
You had decided to make a bold choice. Always being known for your long-sleeved shirts, you tried something different, sporting a white sleeveless crop top instead. Specifically choosing it for one particular scene – when Lusher was in front, and we had to lift her shirt with our mouths.
Your eyes meet Tatter’s figure as she stretches and you make your way over to her. “Feeling good today?” You ask, but when she looks up, her jaw almost drops seeing you in the unfamiliar attire. You always opted to wear anything that hid your tattoos as they were a bit large, so when she sees you, her face goes red as usual. Tatter’s vision falls to the flower tattoo you had, that seems to settle on your underboob and it cascaded down to your hip. then and there, she just found you ten times hotter in the moment. “Um, Y- yeah. I feel good today.”
Definitely more than good, but moving on.
The crew watched Tsubakill go first backstage, and it made you all nervous to see them do so well, getting insane reactions from the crowd as well. You had to shake the feeling away when it was your turn to head up.
As the performance began, the crowd was electrified. The dance was fierce and dynamic, and our chemistry was palpable. You took the center position with Minah by your side as you two laughed manically, the acting being on point, as you can see Monika being thoroughly impressed. The moment of truth came when Lusher took center stage, and the crew began to lift her shirt. You watch everyone’s eyes widen when sheathing the large ink on your chest, and with Tatter behind you, she also sees the spinal tattoo.
Were you just planning on hiding your tatted self from the world? That was all she could think of, but she had to continue the dance.
Tatter's surprise had deepened, and you couldn't help but smile during the performance. The dance was a revelation, not just for the audience but for Tatter as well.
As we stood on the stage after your electrifying performance, you realized that Tatter's perception of you had shifted slightly. Her eyes became more daring every time you made eye contact, making you smirk. After the last few days, you realized that you maybe liked the girl, but this truly confirmed it for you. It was a realization that went beyond the dance floor. Tatter was seeing you in a new light, and it was a powerful connection unfolding before the both of you.
After the stage and the shooting were done, you decided to wait for her outside the building after changing into more comfortable clothing. You needed some fresh air, a moment to process the cyclone of emotions that had swept through the night. Tatter emerged from the building, her eyes still filled with the magic of the performance.
You looked at her, a sense of nervousness settling in your chest. The air was charged with the hype of the night, and it felt like the perfect moment. You took a deep breath and finally said the words that had been on your mind for a while.
"Tatter, would you like to go on a date with me?" You asked, voice a little uncertain, but eyes filled with sincerity. Tatter's surprise was evident, and her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue. But then, her eyes sparkled with joy, and a radiant smile spread across her face. "Of course, unnie. I’d love to," she replied, her voice filled with excitement and happiness.
At that moment, under the starry night sky, it felt like the universe had aligned to create a connection that was as intricate and beautiful. The journey with Bebe had brought you together, and your shared passion for dance had set the stage for a new chapter in our lives.
As you walked away from the building, hand in hand, you couldn't help but feel a sense of destiny in the air. Now, it felt like you truly fit in with the team.
A/n: this took so long to write... has little to no motivation whatsoever😭

Saturday Mornings
MASTERLIST
🤸♀️ Well , well, well, didn't take long to get me back on my bullshit, did it? 🤣 I bring you a Roy Kent smutty one shot. Enjoy the gorgeousness of this man 🥵
Roy doesn't have a thing for Phoebe's dance teacher. Until he does. 👀
For @littleesilvia 😘
Saturday Mornings
Saturday morning had always been for Phoebe. From the day she was born, Roy had dedicated every Saturday morning to her. In the first weeks of her birth, he'd let himself into his sister's house and picked up a squawking Phoebe from the moses basket and taken care of her from 6-10 am so his sister could get more sleep. In those early days, he'd spoken to her in his deep, gruff voice while she drifted in and out of sleep. Then they'd go for a walk to the shop, the neighbours peeping into the buggy until Roy had growled at them to "Fuck off and stop gawping at her, she's trying to fucking sleep." As she got a little older, it became cartoons and cereal - devoured together on the sofa, and then a trip to the park. He'd arranged everything for 9 years around his Saturday mornings with Phoebe. Even away matches with a midday kick off didn't stop him, it didn't matter if it was an hour, or five hours - match day or no match day, rain or shine, if he was single or not, Uncle Roy would be there. Their time alone together moved through her swimming lessons phase, gymnastics phase, and morphed into his coaching her kids team. He wanted to be on board with this next phase - really, he did.
After 8 weeks of lessons, he'd finally put his finger on what the problem was. The dancing was nothing new, Phoebe had tried ballet, tap, some weird toddler baby dance shit. 16 weeks ago, she'd switched to some kind of pop/tween dance class with a lovely older woman who mostly sat to one side and pointed to each move, each music transition. It had been great, 8.30-9.30am every Saturday, fucking wonderful. Then 8 weeks ago, that woman had switched classes and you had taken over. You, with your tight Tik Tok leggings and your cropped t-shirt. You who showed the kids each move over and over again. The number of dad's attending the class had suddenly gone up. It had been 6 months since he thought that he and Keeley could try again, but she'd made it clear that that was not the case. He'd been single for longer than 6 months before, sure, but not for a long time. Back then in his younger days, he'd thought nothing of a mutually convenient resolution with a friend until he met his next significant other. He’d come to the conclusion now that he was too fucking old for a friends with benefits situation.
If it was just Saturday mornings that were the problem, he could live with that. He started out by taking a book and ignoring the class completely, but Phoebe did not like that at all. So he switched to audiobooks, brought a pair of fucking ear buds so he could drown out the sound of your voice, your gentle encouragement and the giggles. If it wasn’t the leggings going to tip him over the edge, it was going to be the giggles. Or the praise. Weird, he didn’t realise he had a bit of a praise kink before. Then he heard you in a breathy voice saying something that definitely could apply to situations other than a 9 year olds dance class and nearly had to leave the room. No, it wasn’t just Saturday mornings anymore. You came to mind now at the most inconvenient times. Sitting on the bike while Jamie pulled him along at 5am when shouting at Jamie in the street would have been frowned upon and they instead trained quietly, whenever one of the kids dance routine songs came on the radio and he was forced to relive watching you teach them, at night in the dark when he was alone, in the shower… He absolutely had to stop thinking about you like this. Like you’d see it in his eyes when you waved good morning, or when he held his bank card over your little hand held machine to pay for the classes. He also couldn’t stand the very much married men who flirted so openly with you. Clearly telling their wives at home, no love, I’ll take little… Mabel to dance class, you stay here and have a lie in and a cup of tea.
It was funny how they’d migrated from the later morning class which was run by a woman who had the body shape of a fucking pencil. Beautiful, yeah she wasn’t bad. But she didn’t have the strong thighs you did, the sweeping curve of your hip into a cute little waist. He couldn’t go another week like this. Had to stop now, stop being so pervy. He was no better than the other blokes who came to watch their kids' class. Except he was slightly better, because he was actually single.
“Uncle Roy, we’re here, come on!” Phoebe was already half out of the car. He braced himself for another week of torture.
“Good morning guys! Come in, I’m just getting set up.” You called out from across the room. He was a bit too early really. Not intentionally, of course not. You were still in your hoodie, still setting up the portable speaker and drinking a Costa coffee. You put a song on in the background and he had to hold his breath while you pulled off the warm grey sweater. As it came off, it pulled the baggy cropped t-shirt up as well, exposing your sports bra underneath, the soft skin of your stomach. It was definitely soft whenever he thought about it anyway. You straightened yourself out and sat on the floor, stretching your legs out in front of you and reaching forward to your toes. Phoebe lept out of her seat, threw her coat at Roy and plonked herself down in front of you, mirroring your pose. “Joining me for a warm up Phoebs?”
“It’s important to warm up. My Uncle Roy is a football coach and he says it’s the most important part.”
“He’s not wrong.” You smiled, moving through some other poses and stretches. He was a dead man. This was it. The end, this was how it was going to go. You stretch your arms up as far as you can reach them, stretching out your back with a little pop. He tried to ignore the fucking Grecian vase shape your body made, truly. Until you’d made a noise a little too close to a moan for his liking, followed by, “Holy shit that feels good.”
Fucking hell. Fucking hell .
“Sorry Phebs, didn’t mean to swear.”
“It’s ok. I’ll let you off the first time, but you owe me a pound next time.”
“Aww thanks.” The class soon filled up, he wished he’d taken a seat way at the back, out of the way so he could either look at you without it being so noticeable, or ignore you completely. He totally respected your classes, he really did. It was a tricky thing, conducting an age appropriate class for 9 year olds which avoided sexualising dance moves but also made them feel like they were able to move their bodies how they wanted to. Of course, it’s not always the dance moves themselves which could be seen as sexual, more often it’s the person watching who makes that connotation. And he tried so, so hard not to do that. Tried desperately to not think about how your body would move underneath his, on top of his, the beautiful sounds he could draw from you. He needed to get out, feigned a phone call, holding up his phone as he got to the door so you knew he’d be right outside if Phoebe needed anything. He didn’t think you’d even seen him until you gave him a little thumbs up.
At the end of the class, you encourage the kids to just sit for a minute. You all usually end up sprawled on your backs, not having to make eye contact makes it easier for some of the kids to talk openly if they wanted help or an opinion on something. It was somewhat of an eye opener for the parents as well. This week, you had the kids sit up so they could see you,
“I thought I might take you on a little trip, if you guys fancy it? I was going to go and see the new Barbie film after class next week. If any of you want to come with me, with your grown up - of course - then we could have a really exciting morning! I’m not allowed to take any of you without another grown up though, ok? So you’ll have to check with them first.” You handed each of them a little pink party invite. He already knew before Phoebe asked. Their match next week was on Sunday so he was free all of Saturday morning. He had no excuse to not take her, he also didn’t think he wanted one.
He hoped you were a little bit dumb. It was a horrible thought, he knew that, to wish stupidity on someone. But if there was any chance of him making a full recovery and banishing you to the depths of his mind, never to turn up again - especially not when he was in the shower with his hand around himself, he really fucking hoped that you were dumber than a box of rocks. You weren’t. He already had an inkling of that, but he could still live in hope.
“Fancy the Barbie movie next week?” You’d asked brightly as he’d held out his card to pay, he wasn’t sure if it was the physical and mental turmoil of having to watch you for the last hour, but he thought he could detect a sliver of hope in your voice.
“Fucking probably, she won’t let me say no.” Phoebe held out a hand for her pound. “Add it to my tab.”
And of course, that’s how he found himself in a dark cinema the following week with a gaggle of kids around him. He was still trying to work out if it was a blessing or a curse that he’d ended up sitting next to you - it had certainly earned him glares from one or two of the other grown ups. As you laughed again at another joke aimed to sail just over pre-teen heads, he knew it was a curse. It had to be. Forced to listen to that laugh for two hours? Fucking torture. When you cried, he knew he was done for. He reached over, just a little and patted the back of your hand in comfort. Just a little there, there gesture. You’d only fucking gripped his hand and squeezed it, he stole a glance at you and you’d given him a watery smile and a little lopsided shrug. Then you’d let go of his hand, and turned back to the movie. He had to spend the remaining 45 minutes of the film trying not to think about your warm hands carefully exploring his body.
The following week, he did it.
“Would you like to go for a coffee sometime?” He asked quietly as his card payment went through. He didn’t think you’d heard him until you looked up sharply.
"Aren't you like way out of my league?"
"What league is that then?”
“Well, you're in the ridiculously fit footballer league? Y’know for people who date supermodels and influencers?”
“I wouldn't fucking know about that.”
“I'm sure you would, I'm sure they don’t kick you out once you retire. Once a fit footballer, always a fit footballer? Is that the name of it? The… F. I. T? Or is it just the R.F.F.L?”
“What's that stand for?”
“No idea, it's your league, you tell me. Footballers Into Tits?”
“That’s a shit acronym”
“I know. I can do better, promise. Give me a minute.”
“I'm sure you'd be alright in that league” He said quietly,
“Excuse me? That was very cheeky. Ohh, maybe it could stand for ‘Filthy rich but Impossibly Tedious’?”
“That’s pretty good, definitely suits some footballers I know. Alright, fine. What fucking league are you in, then?”
“Whatever the Conference equivalent of the F.I.T is.”
“Now that can’t be true.”
“Oh yeah? How do you know?”
“I just fucking do. Is it a yes to coffee?”
“I mean, I still think you’re way too high up the F.I.T for me, but sure.”
“It’s the R.F.F.L actually.” He smirks as you hand him a flyer for the class.
“My number is on there.” You tell him, then you’d walked away without taking his number, which meant he was going to have to be the one to contact you first. No, you definitely weren’t dumb. Shit .
This wasn’t supposed to happen. It was a combination of factors really, a busy week at work meant though he’d messaged you quickly, he wasn’t actually able to meet for coffee until the end of the week. So you’d spent all week in a message exchange which had ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous.
“Would you rather fight 100 tiny Jamie Tartt’s or 1 giant one?”
“100 tiny ones. I’d fucking stamp on them all.”
“Figured out what league you’re in.”
“Enlighten me.”
“Champions League.”
“Fuck off am I. I’ve wikipedia’d your dating history mate. Gina Gershon? I think I should cancel coffee now…”
“Fuck, please don’t.”
“Do you always try so hard to look like you’re not looking at dance class?”
“No idea what you’re talking about.”
“Uhuh. Ok.”
“Yes, I do. Every week is torture.”
“Jamie says I’m too old for the R.F.F.L.”
“Maybe that works in my favour. If I’m up against Gina fucking Gershon, I’d have no chance.”
“You’re not up against anyone.”
“I've been thinking about you all morning.”
“Was that flirting? Were you just flirting with me?”
“Shut up. See you later.”
And now… well. Coffee at 3pm on a Friday turned into dinner at 6pm, dessert at 8pm and a nightcap at 10pm in his kitchen. You tapped the edge of your empty tumbler,
“Another?” He asked, leaning against the counter just across from you.
“No, thank you. I should… go.” The lift at the end meant it could have been a statement, could have been a question. He nodded,
“Early class.”
“Yep. I think we lost track of time.”
“Or not,” he offered,
“Or not,” you bit your lip and he felt indecision fluttering in his chest. He pushed off the counter and closed the gap between you both in only one step.
“If I kissed you now, would you be mad?” He asked softly, he could see your body tremble with the breath you took.
“Think I’d be more mad if you didn’t.” He watched you hold his gaze for as long as you could before looking at his mouth. He took the tumbler from you and put it on the counter before placing a careful hand on your hip and leaning down to kiss you. The warm whisky taste of vanilla and honey mingled with the chocolate from your dessert and Roy realised that no, he hadn’t been tortured before, watching you teach a bunch of kids how to dance wasn’t the way he was going to go. This was. Right here in his kitchen with your arms winding around his neck and bringing him as close as you could possibly get him. Your fingers scratching through his hair. He pressed you into the counter,
“I’ve thought about doing this for a long time,” he whispered, kissing down your neck, making you gasp. He pulled away quickly, worried that it was too much too soon, “Shit, sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” He went to move further back to give you space but your hands gripped his shirt to pull him back in,
“Please, I don’t want to stop,” you breathed heavily, “I don’t want you to stop.” You said, more firmly. He was against you again in an instant,
“Sure?” He asked, “You’re sure?” You stepped up to kiss him, making your feelings very clear,
“I’m sure.” Your fingers flew to the buttons of his shirt, undoing the first couple. He pulled you away from the counter, strong arms wrapped around your back and lifted you enough to move you both to the sofa. You stumbled against the cushions, falling backwards and pulling him with you so that he landed heavily on top of you.
"Oof."
“Fuck, sorry. You ok?” He sits back up on his knees, allowing you to automatically move your legs to either side of his and sit up,
“Never better,” his smile catches you off guard, “fuck, you’re gorgeous.” You mumble, reaching for him. The feeling is more than mutual. He needs to feel your kiss again, desperate to feel your skin on his. It’s better than anything he’d spent the last 8 weeks dreaming of. And the sounds you made as his hands and kisses explored your body were enough to drive him insane. He moves further down your body, pulling your skirt down with him and immediately turns to trail kisses and little bites along your inner thigh while his hand reaches up to link fingers with yours.
“Look at me,” he whispered, his breath hot against your hip. The simple request alone made your body turn to liquid against him. He’d spent so long thinking about (denying, debating, ignoring) the effect you had on him, he hadn’t actually considered that you would be just as affected by him. He wasn’t stupid, he knew he looked y’know, alright , for an older bloke. But still, seeing it first hand… seeing it first hand, hearing it first hand, from you was really something else entirely. You tugged his hand to bring up back up to you but he shook his head, his beard catching the sensitive skin of your inner thighs, “busy,” he said, his voice muffled. He focused on nothing but you, losing himself in each gasp, moan and clutch of your hand still holding his. He worked you through one bone-shaking orgasm without stopping, leaving you a shuddering mess as he went straight for another. Looking up at you, he could see the hand that wasn’t clinging onto him had covered your eyes. This time when you squeezed his hand, he made his way back up your body and settled between your legs. “You ok?” he asked, leaving soft kisses on your jaw before finally capturing your mouth in a filthy kiss. You didn’t speak, just shook your head. “You taste fucking incredible.” He kissed you again and you whimpered, finally moving your hand away from your eyes.
“I’ve got a problem.”
“Oh yeah?” He said, moving back to your neck, a hand slipping behind you to unclip your bra.
“Yeah I thought you’d only want a one night thing but that’s impossible now.”
“It was fucking impossible anyway. One night is definitely not enough time.”
“Oh,” you whispered weakly. “Good. Please-, oh fuck,” he caught a nipple lightly between his teeth, “please don’t stop.” So he didn’t, and he never would again if it was up to him. When he’d been (much) younger, he fully grasped the importance and concept of consent. He was a professional footballer - it wasn’t just important, it was crucial. But as he’d gotten older, he finally realised just how much better saying, and hearing, the words made everything. Being able to ask, “may I?” and “I need to hear you say it” and waiting, waiting, waiting, for the breathy response had never left him so wrecked before. He pushed into you in long, slow strokes while you met him with each roll of your hips. When you hold his jaw tightly to bring his gaze to yours, he nearly falls apart but he's determined to get you there first and he knows you're so close. "You feel so good-," you whisper, "So good."
"Fuck, I need-"
"I know, I'm right with you." His name is on you lips as you come and he thinks it's the most beautiful thing he's ever heard. When he joins you, he kisses you with such depth it's like you were made for him. You lay still together for a while as you catch your breath. He keeps his nose in the crook of your neck while his hand softly smooths across your ribs and the side of your breasts. Your legs no longer lock around him, you stretch out and enjoy the weight of his body covering you.
"'M crushing you," he mumbles. His voice so low in your ear makes you shiver and despite you not being ready for another round quite so soon, your hips buck, "Fucking hell, give me a minute," he laughs.
"You're not crushing me, and I'm not ready yet either," you grin into his hairline and kiss his temple.
"Hmm if you say so." He rocks against you, half hard again already, needing to hear the broken little moan that ghosts over his head. "Come on, I want you in a bed this time."
He wasn't happy when you had to tear yourself from his bed at 7am to go home. He wasn't happy when he picked Phoebe up at 8am. He wasn't happy in the drive thru Costa queue at 8.10am. He was happy at 8.20am when he finally got to hand you your coffee and see your smile as you stretched out on the floor of the dance studio. He was perfectly happy knowing that you'd be torturing his Saturday mornings for a while longer.
