okay but wyll being extra cautious about relationships in part because mizora's literally spying on his life through the sending stone that is his prosthetic eye.
who wants to expose their lover to that, or risk being vulnerable when you know your abuser is watching your every move? and wyll with his admitted dreamer's heart, getting misty-eyed over mermaids as a boy, brave and generous and warm as a man, seven years under mizora's yoke but still aching for a fairytale romance.... esjfjsk;

Article: 'Legendary Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect veterans team up for a "high challenge" D&D book that sends you straight to hell'
Excerpt:
"The designer of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, James Ohlen, has written a new D&D adventure with Children of Time author Adrian Tchaikovsky. Called 'Chains of Asmodeus,' this official 286-page sourcebook (which is available on Dungeon Master's Guild) sends your characters into the Nine Hells to save a soul – theirs, or that of a loved one. It also serves as something of a reunion for ex-Bioware staffers. Alongside Baldur's Gate designer James Ohlen, Drew Karpyshyn (who was involved with Mass Effect and many of its tie-in novels) is listed as a writer on the project. While it's primarily available as a PDF download, Chains of Asmodeus will be given the print-on-demand treatment 'soon.' Either way, all proceeds go directly to Extra Life, the charity that provides medical care for children. Designed for players levelled between 11 and 20, this will be more of a challenge than most Dungeons and Dragons books; alongside more than 50 'High Challenge' monsters that would very much like to kill you, adventurers will have to battle through a new item corruption mechanic as well as the Archdevil Asmodeus himself, Lord of the Nine. As those lofty titles would suggest, he's bad news. Such bad news, in fact, that he spends most of his time plotting to entrap major figures like politicians, rulers, and adventurers. That's where you come in - he's either caught your soul in a pact or has captured the soul of a loved one to coerce you. (An average Tuesday for characters in the best tabletop RPGs, in other words.) If the Nine Hells sound familiar, that's because they're the setting of the Baldur's Gate 3 opening. They also feature heavily in the game's D&D prequel, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, so Chains of Asmodeus could serve as a good add-on for that adventure. If you want to check it out for yourself, you can grab Chains of Asmodeus for $29.99 here."

You know what's wild about Gale becoming a god? His mother is still alive.
Imagine being one of her friends and asking, "Say, how is your boy doing?" "Gale is doing quite well, thank you. He recently became the newest member of the Faerunian pantheon and is now accepting sacrifices in the form of books and cooking ingredients. How is your Sean doing?" "Very well, thank you. He was recently promoted to wait what?"

"Do you really love me as I am?" It was not an easy task getting through the journey with the wizard but we managed~~ Avi, my character and Gale in the astral seas as usual because Gale just cannot have a normal date at a normal place *Sails away to work on other art later on*

The way Wyll says these words to Astarion......
"Deep shadows have long haunted Baldur's Gate - and few loom so large as Cazador's. But I also know you can find light if you know where to look. And this I promise: you can always look to me."
AND THEN HITS HIM WITH THIS??! AFTER A COURTLY DANCE AND GENTLE KISS!?
"So much shadow around us. To think, I almost missed the light."

Gale: Massacre. A spectacle of slaughter. And I participated. Gale: You led me down this path. Gale: I don't know myself anymore. All this... It's not who I am. Around you, I'm not who I want to be.

Sebastian's Curse Headcanon
If you don't convince Sebastian that you will free him (whether by omission, failed rolls, or outright saying you won't), he will curse Astarion. He points to Astarion, declares that this is all his fault, and says, "I damn you to the Hells! I damn you to misery! I damn you..." as his voice breaks. Astarion is then afflicted with Curse of the Sired, which gives him disadvantage on saving throws. It's an excellent scene in a game full of them.
It didn't seem to me that Sebastian was literally casting a curse. It seemed more like his words cut so deep into Astarion that they hurt to hear, no magic required. There's no glowy magical effects, and he doesn't touch Astarion, which is normally required for Bestow Curse. And yet you can use Remove Curse to fix it.
So my theory is that Sebastian is a bard. Not a powerful one, but his voice has magic, and his bitter words have just enough magic to become a curse.
To be clear, his words don't need to be magical to hurt. It's the most painful thing Astarion could hear, that someone he loved hates him, and it was entirely his fault. The conversation already rattles him; all the magic does is turn into a tangible curse.
It's a lot like how Vicious Mockery deals psychic damage by insulting the target. Except where Vicious Mockery generally uses one-size-fits-all insults (except for Auntie Ethel, who has an impressive range of personalized ones) as a vehicle for the magic, Sebastian cuts straight into Astarion's heart with words and lets the magic seep in.

I am friendly and kind and happy to listen to you and even to help you solve your problems, if you'd like that (please try to ignore the elf rolling his eyes behind me) and I will even try to talk you down if you get shouty or aggressive, but so help me if weapons get drawn I am going to murder you and all your friends and loot your corpses and all nearby containers of every last thing you own or might have been existing near, because I know what Dungeons&Dragons is like and the wizard is not the only one in my party who is eternally slavering for magic items
I am a multi-classed monk/vacuum cleaner and you would do well to remember that

I got to the climax of Baldur's Gate III.
I'm annoyed at the way the Emperor frames the big choice about freeing vs killing Prince Orpheus. He's all like, "wah, I've kept you safe throughout this whole thing, I told you everything, and you still don't trust me?!" My dude, this isn't a question of trust. You're talking about killing what might be my companion's entire species last, best hope for freedom. I am not on board with that. If you could just use the stones without killing Orpheus and leaving him safely in stasis until after we deal with the Absolute, I'd hand them over. Or hell, get him out of stasis and get the two of you to put your shit aside so we can save the fucking world! A little perspective, please!
It might be ironic but his insistence on framing this issue as a question of trust is making me trust him a lot less.
