💕Oc Valentines Day Challenge 2024 💕 Day Four: Friends to Lovers

My personal favorite, when they go from friends to lovers. Their enemies know their worst sides, and the heroes know their best, but their friends know both and fall in love with them anyway. Show off an oc ship that was friends before lovers.

Lilith was lost. Literally and figuratively, she somehow survived the crash of a mind-flayer ship. Now she was lost and alone, in the middle of a forest she knew nothing about. Not only that but she had also been infected with a mind flayer's tadpole. But then everything changed when she stumbled upon a fiery tiefling woman named Karlach. As the two adventure together, they become fast friends. Then they get even closer, wanting to be more than just close friends, lovers are what they wanted to be. But the two had to wait until they could find a way to cool Karlach down first and when it happened...the wait had been worth it.

Luna Dungardio is a noble high half elf who was born to a human female bard and a high elf druid male. Her father, Apolis and more commonly known as "Blackwood", was a dark archdruid that had a created his own circle from the teachings of the Circle of Spores, granting him a large following. They believed death and decay brings new life to all things, and to keep nature pure from contagion. When he met Serena, and fell in love, that's when it became dangerous. Around the age of five, Luna and her mother were found out by her father's grove and been attacked. The faction considered the child of their beloved Blackwood to be the rot in the roots due to their own demented interpretation of their circle's rule. Blackwood had fought back with animated death at his side, calling a sheltering spell on Luna. In the middle of casting a rather sadistic and torturous, Blackwood was stabbed which caused him to lose concentration on the sheltering spell and release his newest incantation. All were struck dead with vitality slipping from their bones and blood seeping out of every orifice; Luna was not spared. As her life began slipping away Blackwood called on Jergal, the Lord of the Dead, to save his daughter's life and to take his in place. Instead, Bhaal had come to him and made him an offer that he could not refuse. To save Luna, Bhaal bestowed his own blood within her body to make her a spawn and in return, he wanted Luna to be his Chosen. Blackwood accepted, not knowing the true outcome of this deal. As the years progressed and Luna got older, Blackwood noticed that she would hesitate for periods at a time, speaking with someone he could not see. It gotten to a point that he tried to make deals with devils to help out his daughter but before any progress could be made, he was met with a knife's edge that been plunged into his skin by his own daughter. Luna found her way to the Temple of Bhaal and became a leader, devoting herself and her life to her newest 'father'. In the 15th century, at the age of twenty-nine, Luna was betrayed by fellow Bhaalspawn Orin the Red at Moonrise Towers. She had her skull pierced and opened with a dagger, and was infected with a mindflayer tadpole that began to eat her brain, resulting in amnesia, as well as her becoming the first True Soul. Found by Kressa, who been impressed with her willpower and resistance to the elder brain, began to study her by cutting her up and sewing her back together over several days as she couldn't speak or do anything. Luna was then sent on the Nautiloid Ship, where she would soon wake up with no memories of herself or their past. There, she meets a githyanki warrior named Lae'Zel and a half elf cleric named Shadowheart, beginning her journey of self discovery and a path to redemption.

Name: Asha Rhyl

Fandom: Baldurs Gate 3

Significant Other: Gale of Waterdeep

Race: Seldarine Drow

Class: Sorcerer, draconic bloodline

Mini Summary: Asha remembers living in constant darkness and fighting between kin and others. She grew to despise the war and the despair it brought to many. So, she sought help from others to try and help her bring peace to her kin, learning and getting stronger in her magical abilities to protect herself and others who were caught in the fray. But Asha doesn't remember any of that or the reason why she woke up on a mind flayer ship covered in blood. Seeing all that blood on herself made her sick, it felt wrong. The only thing she knew was of her name and in her heart, yearning for peace.

So there are two specific BG3 characters of all my saves that I headcannon to interact in the whole story. They are both there in the story; while different versions can go depending on choices each take.

Evette and Estrella.

More details under cut because it is a lot of words and spoilers of the Dark Urge path, regular game spoilers and possible easter eggs(?).

Evette = Tav

Estrella = Dark Urge

In the game driven story, the reason why Tav does not appear is because the Dark Urge killed them before the game started if playing the Dark Urge origin and the reason why the Dark Urge does not appear(living) in the game if playing Tav is because they are killed by Orin, then displayed within the Bhaal Temple (you can find the corpse of an unnamed bhaalspawn and default dark urge origin).

In my headcanon version, you can play either or of them and gain the other as a companion and it is important that it is these two particularly. Estrella "meets" Evette during the raid of the adventurers that would originally kill Evette(Tav), but she is spared by Estrella(The Dark Urge). Estrella makes sure she is spared and keeps personal tabs on the girl.

During the whole time, the plot is going on and one thing leads to another, Estrella is betrayed by Orin like usual, but the truth of the matter- she planned that. Estrella played Orin's betrayal and truly, antagonized her blood kin to do it for a long time.

The elder brain and Estrella spoke to each other quite a bit, discussing matters and plans, but Estrella decided to gamble. Estrella made a bet with the elder brain that if somehow it fell apart, why not give another portion a chance? The brain gets to decided what it meant. That was all that was discussed - a very vague gamble.

We know what the brain ended up doing, a fall back plan when Estrella was out of the picture (that she planned mind you). Evette was Estrella's gamble. Why though? It was a random adventurer that Estrella came across by chance.... right?

Who knows. Either way, Estrella made a gamble about Evette, for Evette to go to the brain to unravel all her hard work. Why? Only Estrella really knows, but how can she when she wakes not knowing anything but her name?

And a strange obsession with watching this random adventurer she meets on this ship.

Perfect hugging size; talll enough to hug the tall races (at the waist), small enough to hug the small races (normal hug). Cleric of Ilmater; extremely comforting. Firm, steady, not very expressive, but will share the emotion that prompted you to ask for a hug. Will, however, never initiate unless she needs a hug. 9/10

Archibald "Archie" Elridge

Awkward. Bit stiff, gives you a couple pats on the back, doesn't really know where to put his arms. This mall goth likes to flaunt his immaculate sense of fashion, so his outfit might be spiky and poke you. Or be slightly greasy to the touch. But at least he's genuine! 3.5/10. Go get some new clothes, Archie.

Guida

She will hug you. That is a threat. Extreme enthusiasm, extreme squeeze, will try to lift you up but has a strength score of 8. Will excitedly squeal in your ear. Will not let go. Congratulation, you now have a very tall 18-year-old who clearly wasn't given enough attention as a child hanging from you. 6/10. Bonus because she is the cutest (charisma of 20).

A big man. A strong man. He's 24 and starting to get full grey streaks. Tall enough that the tusks won't hurt anybody and wide enough to engulf most people. That said, he's clearly had little practice and is a little wary of his own strength. Non-orcs are so breakable! 7/10

I guess the heavy rain traditionally brought me inspiration after all, even though it's now really hard to not read all sound of thunder as explosions. Unfortunately russian attacks on our homes happen more often than thunderstorms. Wonder if this will ever go back to normal.
