'Mogambo khush hua' Uddhav Thackrey taunts Amit Shah after losing party name and symbol

After the Election Commission stripped Shiv Sena faction chief Uddhav Thackeray of the party name and its election symbol he attacked BJP and its chief strategist Amit Shah using the popular lines from the movie "Mr. India" -- 'Mogambo khush hua". He also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that it was Shiv Sainiks who did themarvelouss job of saving Mumbai from the serial blasts of 1993, "Those talking of Hindutva now, where were they? Address is not known. Now they brag about a 56-inch chest. Where was that 56-inch chest then? He was sweating," he said.  

He further talked about people wearing masks and said that once people wore "Modi masks at rallies, now it is PM Modi, who is after the mask of Balasaheb Thackeray," he added. On Friday, the month-long battle over the legacy of Bal Thackrey, father of Uddhav Thackrey settled in the favour of Eknath Shinde by the Election Commission.

"Yesterday, someone (Amit Shah) came to Pune. He asked how things are going in Maharashtra. Then someone said it was a very good day, because the name and symbol of Shiv Sena were given to the slaves who came with us. So he (Mr. Shah) said very well, 'Mogambo khush hua'," he said while attending a Public meeting in Andheri, Mumbai.

Citing the supervillains of Bollywood, Uddhav said, "These are the Mogambos of today. Like the original Mogambo, they want people to fight among each other, so they can enjoy power."

"They turned me out of my own house and the verdict went in the favour of thieves," he said as he warned other parties about BJP claiming that they are allowed to get away with anything and others must be on alert.

Narayan Rane said Bal Thackeray plotted to kill Sonu Nigam

Mumbai : Son of former Chief Minister Narayan Tatu Rane and former MP of Congress Nilesh Narayan Rane leveled serious charges against the Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. In a press conference in Ratnagiri, Nilesh said that Balasaheb had conspired the murder of Bollywood Singer Sonu Nigam.

It was also alleged that Bal Thackeray was also responsible for the murder of Shiv Sena’s popular leader Anand Dighe from Thane.

Nilesh Rane gave no evidence in support of his claims, said, on the order of Balasaheb, Shiv Sainiks tried to murder Sonu Nigam. Sonu also knows about this. Do not force me to tell what kind of relationship was between the Thackeray family and Sonu Nigam.

Nilesh also questioned the death of Anand Dighe, saying that two Shivs were very sad about what happened with Dighe. Balasaheb had ordered his men to kill them.

Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray is an Indian politician who is the 19th and current Chief Minister of Maharashtra since 2019. He is also the president of Shiv Sena.

Early life

Uddhav Thackeray was born on 27 July 1960 as the youngest of politician Bal Thackeray and his wife Meena Thackeray's three sons. He did his schooling from Balmohan Vidyamandir and graduated from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art with photography as his main subject.

Political career

In 2002, Thackeray started his political career as campaign incharge of Shiv Sena in the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections where the party performed well. In 2003, he was appointed as working president of Shiv Sena. Uddhav took over as chief editor of party mouthpiece Saamana (a daily Marathi-language newspaper published by Shiv Sena) in 2006 and resigned in 2019 before becoming chief minister of Maharashtra.

A split in Shiv Sena happened when his cousin Raj Thackeray left the party in 2006 to form his own party named Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. After the death of his father Bal Thackeray in 2012, he led the party and was elected as Shiv Sena president in 2013, and under his leadership Shiv Sena joined the NDA government in Maharashtra in 2014.

In 2019, Shiv Sena broke away with NDA and joined UPA. It formed a sub alliance called Maha Vikas Aghadi to form the government in Maharashtra with Uddhav Thackeray leading the ministry.

In 2022, during a party meeting, Uddhav Thackeray explained his move to pull out of NDA to join UPA. "We supported the BJP wholeheartedly to enable them to fulfill their national ambitions. The understanding was they will go national while we will lead in Maharashtra. But we were betrayed and attempts were made to destroy us in our home. So we had to hit back". Thackeray accused BJP of dumping its allies according to its political convenience. He said, "BJP doesn't mean Hindutva. I stand by my comment that Shiv Sena had wasted 25 years in alliance with BJP"
