"He's growing so fast. He's already got five teeth. That's more than Rin and Gou put together." Smiling at the fond exasperation, she reached down to stroke a finger over the velvet softness of her son's hot cheek. He smacked his lips and a little frown appeared before he lost himself in dreams again. Little Makoto Granger was six months old going on four, racing through the mile stones most babies took their time with. If he rushing out of the starting gate already, she knew the next eighteen years were going to be interesting at least. "He takes after you," she mused. "Or you," Tyson retorted softly with a laugh, his fingers lacing with hers over the firm plain of his abdomen, "the consummate overachiever. I swear today he was trying to take his first step." She chuckled and nuzzled his shoulder. "We'll have to get him a beyblade soon." "He'll be a world champ before Kai's son even learns to walk." He grinned, pressing a kiss to her hair. "We made a good looking baby, Hilary."

HYBRID: Mayblade 2024, day 2 - As a bit-beast.
Series: Sweet Dreams Fandom: Bakuten Shoot Beyblade Genre: Fantasy/Humor Setting: Takao's dream Characters: Takao Kinomiya, Max Mizuhara, Rei Kon, Kai Hiwatari Rating: K Summary: Takao finds himself in a new realm, but as a hybrid.
[header by @/saradika]
FFN | AO3
A beam of light flickered the teen’s eyes. His eyelids parted immediately to the stimulus. But, he didn’t wake up as a human being. He found himself in a supernatural realm, unbound and unfathomed. He was bewildered to see himself, a mixed breed of a human being and a Dragon. He had no mirror to look at his face, yet he could touch and infer from the feeling. His body turned cold, his limbs trembled and his heart accelerated with intolerable fear. He was able to fly, further aggravating his assumptions.
“No… it can’t be… It seems like I’m a hybrid now. I can talk, but I share the Anatomy of a Dragon now. What?!”
The last time, he remembered he was going to bed at night. Is it his dream?
“This can’t be! I don’t belong to this world!”
Takao wandered for a while. He saw if there was some door or a portal to his world. He finds it bizarre and unbearable to have transformed into a hybrid. After a couple of minutes of searching, his frustration knew no end. He spotted another strange creature after moving a few miles away from his initial spot. He was a hybrid of a human and a turtle. Takao gasped jaw dropping.
“Max! You too?” Takao asked him.
“Uh? Seiryu-sama!”
“What?! Am I blended with my bit-beast now?” Takao gasped.
“What are you blabbering, Seiryu-sama?”
“Are you Genbu-sama?”
“That is my name.”
Takao understood that he was in a different universe. Something had happened to the original world. He assumed most of his friends were hybrids with their bit-beasts. He can’t afford to live a life like this. Takao was itching to find a solution.
“We have to meet Byakko-sama and Suzaku-sama in a few minutes. We have to secure our realm. We’ve heard rumors of aliens attempting to invade this with supernatural powers. They are probably human beings. We are the most powerful beings in this realm. The strength and integrity of the realm rely on us.”
Takao was confused, but when he looked at the pond where Genbu lived, he saw his reflection with sparkling silver and blue speckles near the corners of his eyes, causing him to panic. He was awestruck to see himself in a new Avatar.
"I've become a fictional character from a world champion, good riddance," Takao sighed.
Genbu was unable to fly. He is in the habitat most of the time.
'How did he know my name? This sounds so strange. Has this Universe existed for all these centuries or is it my dream?'
Takao and Genbu saw two more creatures approaching. Undoubtedly, they were Rei and Kai as hybrids with their bit-beasts.
"Seiryu-sama, the barrier of this realm is seemingly unstable. Our friends are trying to seal the barrier, but it consumes so much time," the tiger creature said.
"B-Byakko-sama? Is that your name?"
The tiger creature chuckled, "Seiryu-sama, you act differently today. Do you need help?"
"I'm good, Rei! Oop," Takao blurted.
"Rei? Who is that?" The tiger creature was confused.
“Apologies, B-By-Byakko-sama!” Takao stammered and bit his tongue. The others were able to read him like a book.
“Seriyu, your power is the most important to have the barrier sealed. There has been disruption. Everyone needs your help. We need to hurry up and reach the broken barrier. This is a paradise for creatures like us,” Suzaku added.
‘So, Kai doesn’t call me with respect even in this world, huh?’
“You guys delay everything here!” an old man’s voice was audible. The four mythical creatures turned back.
“Gramps! Dammit!”
“Gramps?” his friends turned to him. The word was way out of league for a mythological world.
A human male celestial was seen, with a greyish-white-long beard and mustache. His hands were tied. He had his legs crossed. He was floating in the air.
“Ryu-sama!” the creatures knelt. Takao was alarmed to see the sight.
“Seiryu, kneel!” Suzaku yelled.
“Seiryu! Because of your incompetency, our barrier has become very unstable. You need to make an effort to stabilize it! But, you eat and sleep most of the time!”
“Gramps! I have no idea why I entered this realm. I don’t belong here!”
Ryu’s ears turned red. He gritted his teeth and slapped his head.
“Get to work! You should not get a wink of sleep until you finish the work!” He splashed a gush of water on his face.
…
“No!” Takao woke up, panting hard. He found himself in his room. He glanced at the surroundings for once, and his grandfather was standing with an empty bucket. He sighed with relief.
“Thank god, I am out of the nightmare, finally.”
“Now you’ll have the worst nightmare ever! It’s ten in the morning, and you have to run errands! Get to work!”
Takao was frustrated and sighed, “After all, it’s the same fate at the end, regardless of where I am.”

Headcanons: Team Psykick
I find the team very underrated and it appears to be the least appreciated out of all the major teams in the series. Potentially, I was able to create a couple of headcanons for them and yes, they deserve some!
→ Meeting and team formation
The Psykicks met four years before the cyber incident. Kane was on a trip to Tokyo, and met Salima in the park where she was Beyblading with some bladers. Kane challenged her for a battle, and it ended in a tie. They become friends.
Kane had already known Jim by that time. He met him in a similar fashion, but with science and mechanics involved in it. They both are the brainy brats of the soon to be formed team, and discussed long about repairing beyblades and so on.
Salima and Kane together met Goki the next day in the same place in the same way. Kane introduced Jim to them and that's how they decided to form a Beyblading team with the four. Despite living in different regions in and across Japan, every year they meet to travel.
→ Post-cyber incident
They wanted to embark on a new journey since the battle tower incident altered a small part in their peaceful life. They'd want to start everything afresh and forget the bad things. However, Kane suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and couldn't get over the misery by the time world championships ended. He felt that he didn't deserve his teammates. He didn't get enough opportunities to excel in Beyblading that particular year and went on a couple of counselling sessions to the psychiatrist dealing with his case.
Jim felt incredibly ridiculed and lost his hope. He is considered to be the weakest by none other than himself. Goki is the most sane about it and Salima is the comforting hen. Yet, she is feeling very bad for them, especially for Kane. She never thought that a mentally strong person like Kane is feeling extremely down.
Nevertheless, they get over their misery soon enough.
→ Personal space
Goki and Kane often take the responsibility to take the lead, especially the latter but Goki tends to guide him during certain occasions. Jim is the youngest and he needs to be taken care of for most of the time. Salima is the one who often acts like the mother Hen to the team and controls them whenever fights and arguments ensue. However, Kane also takes turns to stop such things.
Goki and Jim are often together, and similarly the case for Kane with Salima. Goki and Jim gel well with each other and they often beybattle. However, Jim ends up losing most of the time but he is not angry with him every time. They are cool and fun bros.
Kane and Salima share common grounds, loyal and have immense trust on each other. Overall they have a mutually healthy and good relationship. He taught her to not worry about winning or losing, but just enjoy battling. She has feelings for him and loves his company. She is emotionally dependent on him and often finds him her comfort person.
They have a relationship which is a bit above friendship, marking the possibility of them getting romantic overtime.
Goki and Jim quarrel during some occasions, and it becomes a hard time for the other two. Regardless, they remain
→ Travels
All the four contribute an equal amount of shares but however, Kane often takes the responsibility for bookings - be it train tickets, flight tickets, bus tickets, cabs, rooms, dorms, tables, etc. Jim looks for points of interest. Goki and even Kane do both. Salima doesn't contribute much in this but invests her time on shopping complexes during their tours.
Jim has the lightest baggage, whereas it is heavier for Salima and Goki. Kane stays in the neutral good.
They book two rooms - one for the guys and one for Salima. However, Kane sometimes stays with Salima and she doesn't mind it either.
Jim loves to click photos of everything and literally everywhere they go, he doesn't get satisfied without this hobby. Kane is more invested in the informational aspect and he loves museums the most. He won't leave the place without gaining knowledge. Jim loves the same too but sometimes, he likes places associated with sceneries (for photos and shit). Goki doesn't have specific preferences. Salima likes botanical gardens, coffee and tea estates, and places with street shops and others.
Salima often cooks if they are staying in tents or cottages. Goki helps her at times.
During their travels, they encounter several beybladers. Kane usually fights them and Jim analyses the battles. The others fight when they feel like.
Kane maintains a book to record all their travelling days. Sometimes, Salima wants to sneak into it but Kane doesn't allow that, as it's his personal diary.
#beyblade#bakuten shoot beyblade#beyblade v force#kane yamashita#goki#jim#salima#beyblade headcanons#team psykick#psykicks#fr people don't draw art or even write fics for them#and like some of them portray kane as a jerk to ray or a bad boy in general#without even understanding whst the HECK he went through in this series#the guys are cast out by the fans for every FUCKING time and include salima only with the other characters#my lord my kane had more development and screentime than her#haters gonna hate#but who cares? there is nobody to compete me for liking them the most 🥱#just the matter of lacking taste#// uruttu

god actually i'm thinking abt rei again. on one hand he definitely comes off as the most stable (aside from g-rev where everyone's kinda going through it) but also i feel like he probably has a lot of shit to unpack. like overall i feel like he's probably the most ''responsible'' of the group but that has its drawbacks too y'know? he's probably willing to hear the others out on their issues but i don't know how often he talks to someone about his own issues.
i mentioned how everyone's kinda going through it in g-rev too and viewed from this perspective it def gives a different angle on rei's behavior there. like obviously everyone's kinda fed up with takao but you also have that one ep where iirc he was REALLY shitty towards rai which i feel points towards a more general issue? this is also kind of why i like his dynamic with salima i think and why i hc them as still being in contact with eachother, it's a friendship where both of them can be upfront about what they've been dealing with.
and of course, there's his... complicated feelings towards daitenji. because on one hand, that's the man who took him in and got him out of homelessness, but also since being told about the actual purpose of the world tournament there's this feeling of "was i being used the whole time?", which tbh i don't know if rei or kai would be the first member of the team to bring that question up, in regards to the entire team i mean but especially rei- and then there's rei's semi-reluctance to re-join the bba team in the latter half of g-rev even if he obviously wasn't on the side of bega either, which, on one hand does very much seem to moreso be about his frustration with takao, but also.. idk, i just think him having not really being sure how to feel about daitenji is an interesting concept.
#sidenote but in regards to the question of ''is his sub name rai or lai'' i will always be team rai#bc i really like the idea of there being these two guys named rei and rai. that's really neat i think#anyway god i should write a fic or smth abt rei (needs to write 30 million other fics aswell)#rat chat#beyblade#bakuten shoot beyblade#rei kon#it's been a while since i've written a long post like this. into the main tags it goes

Echoing Memories
-By BlazingDracy
Empty halls,
Seem so dark.
The door creaks loudly,
As I slide it.
Old wooden walls,
Bear the scars of
Memories.
Through blinds cracks and gaps,
The sunlight sneaks in.
Sounds of laughter;
Of a family.
Echoing
I see the syadows
Still; her smile-
With me in her arms;
Not to happen ever again.
Can't help but blame
Myself,
But there's this twisted sense
Of bittersweet comfort
In seeing her planted flowers
Bloom in the garden.

A Fine Day for Curry [Mayblade 2024 entry for Card, Apron, Doughnut and Secret]
Summary: Before anything else, Kai would like you to know that he's not a picky eater, he is just very particular. Rei might wholeheartedly disagree, but he's not getting off the hook so easily. [Crackfic, No plot only vibes]
Characters: Kai, Rei (Other BBA Team Members mentioned)
Word Count: 2649
Note: The idea came to me when I found out that National Curry Day in Japan is also celebrated as KaixRei day by the Japanese fandom since the first letters of their name spell curry (Ka-Re) in Japanese. I thought it was really cute and funny and wanted to post something silly featuring the two and of course, Curry. I'm usually very happy with my 'no plot only vibes' kind of writing style, but this is the first time I'm posting something like this for Beyblade without Tyson and Hilary leading the story so I'm very nervous. I don't think I did a good job with this fic and I'm sorry in advance if you read and it feels like a complete waste lol. Feel free to send in constructive criticism, I won't mind at all!
[post divider by @/cafekitsune]
Resting his hands on top of his knees under the table, Kai resisted the urge to push the plate placed in front of him away. He was not a picky eater, or so he liked to believe, but he was set in his preferences, never taking the chance of trying something he didn’t like. He had worked hard on developing and maintaining his taste palette and didn’t really enjoy it when it was disturbed out of the blue. But still, he was an adult so most of the time if he was served something he didn’t enjoy eating, he would gulp it all down with a passive face, compromising on his beliefs to keep up appearances.
Today, however, was different because he was under the impression that when Rei invited him over for lunch, the two would get Thai takeout as they usually did, instead he was taken by surprise when his friend served up a plate of freshly made curry and rice.
Japanese-style curry was one dish that Kai found hard to make compromises on. If it wasn’t cooked with the specific recipe that his mother followed, he would rather not go anywhere near it. When he raised his eyes from the plate and watched as Rei happily folded his apron to keep it aside before taking a seat opposite him, Kai found it hard to voice out his thoughts about the dish. Rei fixed him with an eager smile and rested his folded arms on top of the table with a nod towards the food, signalling him to go ahead and take a bite.
He swallowed a gulp, raising one hand from under the table to pick up the spoon before he changed his mind and looked at Rei with a raised eyebrow, “I assumed we would be getting takeout.”
“It’s nice to switch things up once in a while, don’t you think so?” Rei shrugged, if he was bothered by how Kai had still not taken a bite of his food, he didn’t let it show on his face.
No, was what he wanted to respond with, you should know that by now.
“Aren’t you going to join me?” Kai sent a pointed look towards the lack of a plate with food in front of Rei. It was when the latter chuckled lightly at his observation that he realised, today he would not be able to get away by just inhaling the food without tasting it and pretending he liked it.
“In a bit, I need to know what you think of the dish first,” Rei said.
“Why?”
Rei considered his question for a moment, possibly debating whether it was worth telling the truth right now or to save the explanation for later. After a while he sighed, raising one hand to rest his chin comfortably in it, he addressed Kai with an excited look in his eyes, “I’m thinking of adding a new menu on my food truck.”
“Is that feasible? For the business model, I mean,” Kai asked, letting his gaze drop back towards the curry. If it were up to him, he would rather eat a month’s worth of Rei’s baozi in one sitting over trying out the Japanese curry offered to him.
“People love buying steamed buns on their way to office or school in the morning, or while heading back home in the evening. But business slows down during the day quite a bit so I thought having a popular lunch item might help.” Rei explained, surprisingly still not annoyed that Kai was spending so much time delaying taste testing a dish clearly very important to him currently.
“That makes sense,” Kai muttered, eyeing the food in front of him with a somewhat renewed interest, “But wouldn’t Tyson be a better choice for something like this?”
Rei laughed loudly, waving his free hand dismissively, “Tyson only enjoys finding fault in Hilary’s cooking. He never judges my food harshly.”
“Max?”
“On the off chance that Max wouldn’t like the dish, he would just empty a bottle of mayo on top of it and I’d rather not watch him butcher my cooking like that.”
Kai felt defeated, he didn’t know whether telling Rei that his opinion would not be as unbiased as he assumed was the right thing to do. His chest did swell with pride, however, at the thought of being the more reliable friend within their circle.
Then he decided that since eating the curry would end up helping Rei, there was no point in trying to push the task any further. He picked up the spoon once again, and while attempting to fight off the disgust from showing on his face, he scooped up a small portion of the curry and rice. As he lifted the spoonful close to his mouth, Kai closed his eyes with the hope that not being able to see the curry would make it easier to swallow.
He had intentionally put more rice on the spoon, diluting the taste of the curry slightly but when it finally hit his senses, he was taken by surprise for a second time that day. He frowned as he chewed on the carrot piece that had landed in his bite, admitting to himself that it didn’t taste as bad as he thought it would. The sweetness of the curry wasn’t overpowering, as was the case in most Japanese roux mixes, but was a much subtle presence at first easily subdued by the rice, allowing the spicy aftertaste to flourish in all its glory making Kai conclude that the taste was actually quiet-
“Decent.”
Uncharacteristically, he ended up voicing his last thought out loud, biting his tongue in regret he sneaked a careful glance at Rei. Assuming that no chef ever wanted to hear their new dish described so blandly, Kai was expecting him to look offended or annoyed even but instead, he had the biggest smile plastered on his face, his amber eyes shining bright with accomplished pride as if he’d just won first prize at a cooking competition.
“That is a huge compliment,” Rei said, his voice now loud with excitement but still retaining the gentle, teasing tone as he added, “Considering how much you hate curry.”
“Wait, you knew I hate curry?” Kai quickly dropped the spoon back onto the plate, pushing the dish towards Rei as he scowled at him, “Why did you make me taste it then?”
“Because-” Rei paused to shake his head, the way he pursed his lips made it obvious that he was trying to hold back a laugh before he spoke, “As I implied earlier, you are the only one I can trust when it comes to objective feedback.” He leaned forward to bring the dish closer to him, picking up the spoon Kai had dropped to serve himself a bite, gathering more curry on it than rice, unlike Kai. He let out a gasp of satisfied approval after tasting it and passed a grin in Kai’s direction, “Decent enough for you to want seconds?”
“Sorry, that privilege is reserved for my Mom’s curry alone,” Kai muttered grumpily, a little relieved to see Rei nodding in understanding. While he wasn’t happy about being manipulated into sharing his opinion on something he didn’t like, he still thought it best to let Rei know that he shouldn’t put his review on a pedestal, “You should get a second opinion. About the taste.”
“I plan to. The others should be here in a while.”
Kai rolled his eyes at the obvious set-up he had walked into, Rei laughing at his reaction only soured his mood further, “I suppose I am more surprised by the fact that you do know what I don’t like.”
“Of course I do, how long have we known each other? Don’t hurt my feelings with accusations like that,” Rei clicked his tongue as he shook his head disapprovingly, “Do you know how much trouble yours and Max’s picky eating habits have given us over the years?”
“I am not a picky eater.” Kai defended himself quickly, “I’m just particular about my likes and dislikes.”
“That is the definition of being a picky eater, Kai.” Rei chuckled, going back to take a few more bites of the curry, he did not bother to explain his own statement of accusation against Kai any further.
“What did you mean, when you said Max and I have caused problems over the years?” Not that Kai was one to give up easily, he fixed Rei with his best intimidating stare and folded his arms across his chest in a gesture to show he wouldn’t budge till he got his answer.
“You know when we used to travel extensively for tournaments and stuff,” Rei said, expecting it to be a sufficient hint but sighed when he noticed that Kai was still looking at him with confusion, “The amount of effort Hilary put into finding hotels and restaurants that would match all our tastes so we wouldn’t have reason to complain.”
Kai leaned back in his chair, relaxing his arms slightly. If he was being honest, this thought had never crossed his mind. After all, whichever hotel they stayed in or wherever they stopped by for meals after matches, the menu always had some option that he enjoyed eating, there was no reason for him to go beyond and think how that always worked out. But now when he revisited those memories, little things seemed to pop up. Like how if he ever lost a match, he never joined the others for a meal afterwards, opting to go for a long walk to clear his head instead. When he’d get back a package of his comfort food would always be waiting in his hotel room, which he had always taken for granted, but now understood was something that wouldn’t be possible without Hilary.
“We had a secret group chat too, Chief, Hilary and I.” Rei continued, his eyes softened as memories of their beyblading days probably came rushing back, but it was quickly replaced with a mischievous glint, “We still do actually, do you think it’s a coincidence that all our get-togethers and reunions always have a perfect menu to boast?”
“So the three of you have just been gossiping about our eating habits behind our backs?” Kai scoffed, the moment of guilt he’d felt about not appreciating Hilary’s efforts as a manager was immediately doused by Rei’s extended explanation.
“Can you blame us?” Rei responded in amusement, but seeing Kai refusing to take this lightly only made him laugh more.
Kai found it hard to fight back with denial because the truth was just that obvious.
If he ever had to spend time with his former teammates over a meal, he preferred to have Rei or Hilary tag along, since he’d always assumed their tastes were quite similar. Now he knew it was just because they understood his habits so well, and were being considerate towards him by accepting his invitations. That didn't leave him much to argue with so he kept quiet even as Rei looked at him expectantly, deciding to instead focus on how to get back at Rei for first, making him eat curry manipulatively and second, implying that Kai was a fussy eater.
Because he really wasn’t, he was just particular. There was a difference, even if Rei refused to acknowledge it.
After seething and brainstorming in silence for a while, just when he thought he was at a loss for ideas, the sound of the doorbell ringing loudly across the apartment reminded Kai that there was still one very good card left to play. Rei quickly got up from his seat and began to rummage through the kitchen, pulling out more plates, and turning the stove on to reheat the food.
“Kai, can you get that please?” He called out as he moved around.
Kai reluctantly got up from his seat and walked to the door, though not before he caught Rei pulling out a plate of egg sandwiches, one of Kai’s favourites, from his fridge and setting them on the table along with the pot of curry. He couldn’t tell if knowing that Rei had already prepared a backup dish for him as per his tastes made him feel happy because at least his friend knew him well, or even more annoyed because it only served to strengthen the trap he’d fallen in today. When he pressed the button on the intercom and saw Tyson, Hilary and Max wave through the tiny screen, he settled on feeling annoyed for the sake of it.
“Rei! We got doughnuts!”
Tyson’s voice cracked through the speaker as he lifted the bag in his hands up towards the camera. Kai didn’t respond obviously, only pressed the button to open the door that would let them in.
“Rei? Are you there?”
Tyson asked again, making Kai roll his eyes at his actions. He could just come up and talk to Rei in person, why did he feel the need to speak through the doorbell was beyond him, Kai thought as he shook his head.
“It’s probably Kai who answered, Tyson. Let’s go.”
He saw Hilary dragging Tyson away, and the plan became quite clear in his head at that moment.
“Would it kill him to greet back once in a while-”
Tyson’s muffled complaint was completely cut off as the display went black, indicating that all three of his friends had successfully entered the building. It would take them a while to come up as Rei lived on the tenth floor, so Kai decided to saunter back to the kitchen, a smirk playing on his lips as he leaned against the door frame with the confidence of a beyblader about to land the winning strike.
“This secret group chat of yours,” Kai spoke, pausing to check if he had Rei’s attention and when his friend passed him a confused look, he continued, “Does Tyson know about it?”
Rei stopped setting up the table and looked up at Kai, eyes wide with fear and horror, “Kai, don’t.”
“Because I just think that, it’s the kind of thing he should know about.”
“Kai, please! If he throws a fit, Hilary will strangle me without a second thought, you know she’s capable of it.”
Rei's scared yet pleading voice did make him feel better about all the manipulation, and just for a second, he thought he would forgive his friend and play nice. After all, Rei did prove that he knew him better than most people, and valued his opinion more than the others, so there really was no need for Kai to exact his revenge.
A knock on the door announced the arrival of their friends and the tension on Rei's face deepened as Kai promptly turned on his heels to open the door.
"Kai, I will owe you big time if you keep this secret for me!" Rei called out in a squeaky voice from the kitchen, making Kai laugh out loud for a change.
“It’s been so long since we saw a real Tyson and Hilary fight, you know" Kai turned his head just once to smirk in triumph, "They just don’t do them like that anymore.”
As he turned the doorknob, he heard Rei shuffling behind him in the kitchen at twice the speed from before, possibly hiding any sharp objects out of Hilary's reach. He suppressed another laugh before swinging the door open. In the end, Kai decided to let Rei off the hook just this once. But there was no reason for Rei to know that, instead he would enjoy keeping him guessing about when Kai would drop the bomb for the rest of the day. When he finally came face to face with Tyson, Kai made sure that Rei could hear him as he announced loudly, “Tyson, guess what-”

There wasn't any judgment in his expression, but there was a little bit of amusement as the same memory came to both of their minds. "Rule number one: don't launch in a moving vehicle." Hilary's blush deepened. She hid her face in her hands. "Let's not talk about that." It came out muffled, but she knew he heard her, even as the battle intensified again. Tyson chuckled and pried her hands away. Just when Hilary thought he might say something nice, he responded with, "Max's dad almost drove us off the road." "Shut up, Tyson!" She shoved him back and crossed her arms, determinedly facing the battle instead of him. "You know, this isn't the way to talk me into being your tag team partner."

And when I found the first Rick/Michael fic in FF.net?
Warning: Very sad
And I wonder if there is a japanese fic from them too...
Maybe I'll write something for the ship based on Teddy Bears, but something more happier, I think

FFN | AO3
The Bladebreakers were on a trip to India. All except Kai were in their rooms, sleeping peacefully. The dual-haired wandered in the streets of the subcontinent's capital. It was Winter in Delhi. The chill air flirted with his scarf, which fluttered wildly against the breeze. He bought some coffee and sipped on it slowly. His glances showered the vast sky that was infinite and beautiful. The mist blinded some parts of the city, but Kai was able to manage and walk past them. The culture was rich, yet some states had a poor economy. He stood in front of the Indian gate and saw the surroundings. Long walks were a hassle for Takao, but not for Kai. He felt relaxed and content after a couple of months.
"Hmm." Kai closed his eyes and enjoyed the peace coming from inside. He braced his scarf further to protect himself from the cold.
He turned and saw someone familiar. He knew her but never talked to her for once. She is none other than Julia, the captain of F-sangre. She was wearing a trenchcoat with her messy hair fluttering in the wind. Kai was never into girls, yet he found her pretty. Of course, he doesn't have anything romantic for her. Julie gave a side-eye and her jaw dropped. Kai quickly turned back, pretending not to see her.
"I know it was you, Kai. I never expected to see you here," she remarked and walked to him.
"I clarified if it was you, nothing more," Kai walked away from her. Julia was stunned by his attitude. She seethed and said, "You have no manners for sure."
Kai stopped along his trance and turned back. He gave a 'hnn' before he started again. "You do know about me, after all. But, there is so much you still aren't aware of," he smirked and walked off. She can never understand guys like Kai, or even guys in general.
Julia walked back to the hotel she was staying in. Coincidentally, it was the same place where the Bladebreakers were staying. She saw Kai reporting to the reception before he walked to the room. His room was somewhere on the second floor. Hers was on the fourth floor.
Kai knocked on the door several times, but Takao was fast asleep. Kai facepalmed. He informed Takao that he would be out. It was his fault too, he should've thought twice before roaming out. He gave up. He decided to sleep on the corridors until Takao would show up.
"Your roomie is not opening the door, pathetic," Julia mocked. She smirked and leaned against the wall.
"I can sleep here, I don't need your help."
Julia sighed and walked to him, "I knew you wanted to sleep on a cozy blanket this winter. Don't lie. I can give you room. Come with me."
Kai blushed at the thought of sleeping next to a girl. He couldn't help but accept her offer. She chuckled. Kai felt dreamy. She was beautiful. He smirked and followed her to the room.
It was the same as his's, except the aspect was different. They removed their coats and scarves and hung them. Julia grabbed her nightgown and went inside the restroom. She returned a few minutes later.
"Make yourself comfortable," Julia assured him. He sat on the sofa.
"Come to the bed!" she exclaimed. Kai blushed.
Julia's cheeks turned beet. She gasped, 'Wait, did he assume that I…'
"No, I didn't think like that. I-uhh… just… um… don't sleep beside girls… you know. I hate sleeping with Takao too, he is a loud, snorty kid. I hate his snoring, ugh."
Julia burst out laughing at Kai's remarks.
"Alright, I'm going to turn the lights off. Have a good night's sleep."
Julia shared the blanket with him.
"Am I troubling you, girl?" he asked.
"I've been feeling lonely since my brother is not here. He's on a date with his new girlfriend. It's nice to have you as my companion. Just get some sleep."
"Well, promise me one thing. Don't tell Takao or anyone that I stayed with you this night. He'll never get enough of me once he learns about that. I will have a tough time dealing with that doofus," Kai mumbled.
"Sure, I'll take care of it, but by the time I wake up, you will not be there," Julia mocked. Kai sighed and was frustrated with her remarks.
She turned the lights off and lit a candle. Kai felt the illuminating presence and turned to see her. She kept that on the thick yet flat headboard of the bed.
"Do you love candles?" Kai asked her.
"I do, they are beautiful. I'm going to purchase some of them tomorrow in the market. The Indian candles seem to be lovely. I'd love to have some."
"Nice," he gently smiled.
In a few minutes, Julia was fast asleep. Kai struggled since he was with a girl, all alone. He brought the candle towards her to see the breathtaking face. He laid the strands of her hair on her ear. "You are beautiful, of course. I hope you get more candles like these. They'll make your face glow."
Kai placed the candle aside and drifted off. He dreamed of Julia in a beautiful Indian outfit and makeover, with the room decorated with beautiful curtains, rose petals, and cushions. Red shawls were hung along the corners covering the bed. She held a big candle, waiting for Kai to lie by her side. The dark room was illuminated with beautiful candles around the confines of the room. Her smile was radiant the moment Kai came to her.
"Come close, Kai. I need you by my side this night."
Kai climbed on the bed and faced the beautiful girl. His fingers crawled on her cheek and drew her closer.
"I will never leave this radiant beauty," his amethyst eyes were interlocked with her emerald ones. His hands slowly crawled down to grab her by the waist.
"I will make this night memorable for you," he whispered into her ears.
...
The next morning, Julia woke up to see Kai still fast asleep. She didn't expect to see him by her side. He was cute. The candle was gone, but the glow and radiance were still on his face.
