Falling For a Dwarf King
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 3,175 Chapters: 7/? Summary/Author’s Note: - I'm having to change a few things in this chapter because for the sake of it being a bit more original. This chapter drags along a bit, because it has some important things that kinda matter for later on in the story (Bilbo finding the ring). I'm not super 100% happy with the chapter because it seems a bit boring and kind of rushed at the end ;-; The next chapter will probably still be a bit draggy, but I promise in the next NEXT chapter, things will be back up to speed - As The Company leaves the warmth of Rivendell without Gandalf the Grey, who has other matters to attend to, they start on their way across The Misty Mountains. However, they are surprised with rather unwelcome visitors. Read the story on ao3!

Falling For a Dwarf King
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 2,533 Chapter: 6/? Summary/Authors Note: Kinda steamy in this one, haha. WARNING if you don’t like intimate shirtless wound-cleaning stuff. So, kinda nsfw? Ori’s gone missing and The Company, along with the help of the elves, search the grounds for the young dwarf. Mr.Bilbo gets himself another wound, and to Bilbo’s surprise (and delight), it’s Thorin who helps him clean it up. Read the story on ao3!

Falling For A Dwarf King
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 2,213 Authors Note: This story is to be a multi-chaptered fic, so yey! Bilbo Baggins is a simple hobbit living in The Shire, and Thorin Oakenshield is a noble king on a journey to reclaim homeland with the company of 12 other dwarves and a wizard. After a “little shove out the door”, Bilbo embarks on the journey with the dwarves across the land. As Bilbo learns more things about Thorin each day, he starts to fall for the brooding king. Along their way to Erebor, they run into all sorts of mishaps: orcs, trolls, elves and a surprise kidnapping of Bilbo himself. Before long, Thorin soon finds himself caring a little more for Bilbo than he originally planned for. Chapter: 1/? ~x~ Bilbo Baggins adjusted his seat in the bench in which he was seated on, trying to find a comfortable sitting position on the wooden bench. He had his eyes closed, trying to block out the bright sun that beamed down on the town of Hobbiton, bringing with it good weather and a light breeze that continuously blew over the hills and across the farms. He was a humming a soft tune to himself as he sat, stopping every now and then to take a puff of his pipe, then blowing a large smoke-ring into the air. The hobbit would open an eye to see how far it would go until the wind would eventually carry it away, which would make him close his eye again until he puffed another one. Bilbo would do this most days, relaxing in his own space outside of Bag End, listening to the distant laughter and chatter of the other hobbits in the market area. Bees buzzed by and the flowers that spotted The Shire in all sorts of colors brought with them the sweet smell of spring, which usually included pollen and honey. It was a relatively warm day and as the breeze blew against Bilbo’s face, he would exhale in relief. Today seemed to be no different from other days, with familiar smells and sounds danced in the air. Nothing strange came across to the hobbit. Well, of course that would be a lie, for something quite strange had happened to him just a few hours back. That “strangeness” was the doing of Gandalf The Grey, a wizard who had made a visit to Bilbo’s home while he was doing the same as he was doing now. The company of the wizard had soon made him anxious, for Gandalf talked to him of adventures. You see, Bilbo used to be quite fond of the idea of an adventure. Gandalf had pointed out to him that when Bilbo had been a small, young hobbit, he was always in seek of elves and would often journey into the woods. Of course, now, the hobbit had changed entirely. He thought of adventures as uncomfortable and disturbing things, as they also brought danger and unfamiliarity with them. Mr.Baggins had simply shook his head at the offer and had closed his rounded-door on the wizard as soon as he could, dismissing himself of the conversation before Gandalf said it was over. Unbeknownst to our hobbit, you see, the grey-cloaked wizard had left a mark on his door. What that would eventually bring, was far out of Bilbo’s mind. The hobbit opened his eyes once more, puffing a final ring into the air and standing up as he noticed the sun dipping down behind the hills, signalling that supper was soon to be eaten- which of course meant that it had to be made, first. Dusting his pants with a few, quick flicks, Bilbo swung open his rounded door and closed it behind him. ~x~ Read the rest of the story on AO3!

It’s Always You
Fandom: The Hobbit Paring: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 1,542 Authors Note: Had this idea while watching bagginshield videos (honestly, what am I doing to myself?) Thorin’s about to head out to face a huge group of orcs that they ran into on their journey to Erebor. Before the dwarf king leaves, however, Bilbo catches his attention and it takes him by surprise. ~x~ Bilbo’s eyes flicked quickly to Thorin’s back, watching his muscles move as he walked in front of him. Bilbo’s small body shaking as a sharp wind blew into the valley in which they now stood. They were damp with rain, their clothes sticking to their skin. It was around midday, as Bilbo guessed by the way the sun beat down on them, high in the sky. They had been wading through a shallow stream that ran down the slim valley, slipping on wet stones and tripping over holes in the sand-bed that lay underneath. It was more exhausting that one would’ve original thought and the hobbits’ calves burned and ached as they treaded through the water. Blasted dwarves, he thought bitterly, kicking the water in front of him angrily. And to think that he would be back in his hole in Hobbiton if it weren’t for Gandalf. Of course, these were usual things for such a hobbit as Bilbo Baggins to be thinking, for it was quite unusual for a Baggins to run out in the blue. But a small part of him was enjoying this journey beyond belief. Whether it was the merry company of the dwarves, the wide and beautiful landscapes or just merely being on the road that made it attractive, it was hard to say. I guess you could also say that Mr.Baggins was taking a particular interest into a certain dwarf. The hobbit slowly switched his gaze to Thorin Oakenshield, who was trudging through the cold water without a word, his fists clenched at his sides. His hair was flopped lazily down his back, darker than its’ usual color due to the previous rain that day. Bilbo bit down on his lip as his ears caught the sound of a twig snapping under-foot amongst the trees on the right side of the bank. The Company instantly stopped as Thorin quickly raised his hand to silence their heavy breathing. All was silent for a moment, and Bilbo silently wished for it to be nothing more than a doe or a bird.
They had been on the run from the foul beasts known as orcs. The hobbit merely thought of such things as fairytales, nothing of reality. But they had spotted a large pack hunting them down a few days back, and Bilbo often dreamt of the foul faces of the orcs and the sharp, bared fangs of the wargs which they rode on. And as the twig had snapped, all minds had instantly gone to orcs. When there was to be a situation where they thought they heard or saw an orc, Thorin would usually volunteer himself to go and see it out, sometimes alone even. This would leave the poor hobbit silently worrying himself to death, for he would not be able to bare not seeing the dwarf again. Yes, it was true. For no matter how many times he simply denied it to himself, he had become truly smitten with the dwarf king. He would be on his toes worrying about Thorin when he wasn’t with them, and tried to avoid being alone with Thorin, for Bilbo knew that he could not hide his feelings forever. There would be a day to come in which he would have the words accidentally leave his mouth. And he had it in his head that Thorin Oakenshield could not possibly love such a being as he, for he was such a useless, weak hobbit from The Shire. Compared to a dwarf king, there was a good amount of difference between the two. The dwarves and hobbit stood still in their tracks, their eyes fixed on the area in which they had heard the twig snap. Thorins’ voice broke the silence first, rough and low. “I’ll go see what it is” He said in a calm tone, lowering his hand to reach for his sword and began to take a step forward. Balin waded quickly through the water in front of Thorin, pressing a hand to his chest to stop him from moving forward. “It’s unlikely that it’s anythin’, Thorin” He said, furrowing his white, bushy eyebrows together. “I shall not take that chance” He snapped quickly, before gathering up Dwalin, Fili and Kili with him to set off to scout. Balin, in defeat, rounded up the other dwarves and let them rest on the bank of the river, landing with cracks and thuds as they fell down onto pebbles and sand. Bilbo’s jaw clenched as he watched Dwalin, pulling Kili with him, up the slope that lead into the forest on the other side of the stream. Fili followed close behind them, with Thorin trailing behind. Something snapped in Bilbo’s mind, for before he knew it, he had run up behind Thorin and pulled him by the end of his sleeve to face the hobbit. “What is it?” Thorin asked calmly as his eyes rested on Bilbo’s with an unknown expression, his mouth set in it’s usual straight-line. The hobbit chewed on the inside of his cheek nervously, fumbling his thumbs in front of his hips. “P-Please” He stuttered, desperately searching for the correct words. Mr.Baggins didn’t seem the best for talking to someone whom he had feelings for. This had proven itself to him many times before. The dwarf ticked his head slowly to the side, raising a brow in confusion. Bilbo breathed in a shaky breath, before exhaling and looking into Thorin’s eyes. “Please do not go again. I-I couldn’t… I wouldn’t know what to do if you didn’t return” He admitted quickly, pausing between every couple of words, his voice cracking. He blinked quickly, trying to keep back the blush appearing on his cheeks, nose and ears. Thorin gazed down at Bilbo in surprise, his lips parted as he struggled to make words escape his lips. “Bilbo, I-“ “Please. N-No matter how many times I try to ignore it.. I- I can’t… it’s..” He shook his head, raising a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose as he tried to articulate his words correctly. They stood silent for a brief moment, with the only sounds around them being the water and dwarves. Suddenly, Bilbo looked back up at Thorin’s face, his eyebrows furrowed together as he spoke. “It’s always you” The dwarf didn’t flinch or make any sign of surprise. Instead, he stood still and looked down at the hobbit with furrowed brows and eyes full of something that Bilbo couldn’t quite put his finger on. But it suddenly hit the hobbit that he had just admitted to Thorin of his feelings, and his heart felt as if it was about to burst out of his chest. How could he have been so foolish to tell Thorin his feelings? “I’m sorry..” Bilbo whispered lowly, almost inaudible. As he began to step slowly backwards, his attention turned back to Thorin once he heard a soft laugh in his direction. When the hobbit looked back at him, the dwarf king was in fact laughing with a warm blush on his face. Bilbo looked up at him in a confused expression. “Oh, Mahal..” Thorin shook his head with a loving smile as he looked at Bilbo. Without saying anything, the dwarf slowly walked towards him and suddenly leaned forward so that his lips were only just hovering over Bilbo’s. The hobbit’s breath hitched in the back of his throat, his eyes wide. “I am sorry to have caused you such worry” Thorin whispered softly, his breath warm against Bilbo’s cheek. As the hobbit looked down to his lips, the dwarf leaned to the left slightly and rested his chin on top of Mr.Baggins’s shoulder. His strong, wide arms slowly wrapped around Bilbo’s sides, pulling his smaller frame to his broader one. Bilbo stood speechless and still into Thorin’s hug, before nuzzling his face closer into Thorin’s fur-rimmed coat, breathing in the smell of wilderness and sweat. They stood like that for what felt like hours for Bilbo, but was merely a couple of minutes, until Thorin pulled back slowly, looking lovingly into the hobbits’ eyes. “Please, do not worry about me. I will come back to you. You have my word” He said slowly and deeply, pressing his forehead briefly against Bilbo’s before turning on his heel and jogging after Fili who stood at the edge of the forest, his face red as to what he just saw. Bilbo blinked a few times, trying to take in what Thorin had just done. Something in Mr.Baggins’s mind told him that Thorin would keep his promise, no matter what were to happen. Bilbo smiled to himself knowingly, shuffling his feet against the pebble-scattered ground. As he watched Fili disappear beneath the shadow of the trees, he spotted Thorin turning around quickly to glance back at him. Bilbo’s eyes turned to Thorin’s lips as he mouthed something, which made the blush return once more to his face, before running off after his nephew. Bilbo giggled softly to himself, rubbing his neck with a shaky hand. Shyly, he glanced back at Balin, who was grinning knowingly behind him, before turning back to the forest in which the four dwarves had disappeared in. … “I love you too” ~x~

You could've been killed
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 1,354 Note From Author: Ayyy! Finally managed to think of a fic idea :D Woop woop! The Company are being hunted down by an orc pack, who’s not so far behind when they decide to make camp. Fili and Kili decide that they’ve had enough of running, so they bring Bilbo along to take care of the pack. After a short battle, Thorin is furious to find out that the hobbit was apart of it. ~x~ Bilbo took one last swing at the foul body of an orc, whose face looked like it had been trampled over by several horses. It hissed and growled as it charged forward towards the hobbit, some type of axe in his hand, but stopping as Bilbo Baggins swiped his sword across his throat, swiping the orcs’ head clean off. The beast gurgled, writhing on the ground, headless. Feeling bile rising in his throat, he took a step back and bit his hand, attempting to keep his supper down where it belongs. Fili and Kili, with their tunics matted with blood and dirt, ran over with mischievous grins on their faces. Bilbo turned to the two princes and furrowed his eyebrows together. The hobbit would not have been fighting, if it weren’t for the persuasive skills of these two. The Company had been on the run for days on end by an orc pack, who always seemed to be hot on their tail. While the dwarves were making camp, the younger dwarves had decided that they would like to smash a few heads together quietly. Two members couldn’t take the orcs alone, and most of the dwarves in The Company would just tell Thorin of their schemes. So, naturally, they convinced Bilbo to help them kill off the disgusting beasts. The hobbit would not have gone if it wasn’t for the mention of Thorin, the great dwarf king who seemed to despise his company. Perhaps if he were to prove himself, things would be different. “Aye, master burglar! You’re a pretty good fighter, right Kee?” Fili began, interrupting Bilbo’s thoughts and raising his eyebrows before turning to his brother, patting him roughly on the back. Kili nodded enthusiastically, wiping an arm across his forehead to get rid of sweat beads or blood that was splattered all over his face. “Imagine what Thorin will think when he sees that we took care of the orc pack! Maybe he’ll give us an extra bowl of supper, Fee!” The brunette-dwarf raised both large hands on either side of his face, making an “oh my goodness” expression. “How about two extra bowls?” The golden prince hopped on the balls of his feet slightly as the two gasped over having extra food. The hobbit simply shook his head, frustration building up. Bilbo simply stood in his place quietly, before he heard the slight snap of twigs under-foot. His ears twitched and he spun around, raising his sword to the direction he heard the noise. “What do you think you were doing?” A low, familiar voice growled in front of them. The two princes instantly closed their mouths when they heard the sound of disapproval in Thorin’s voice as he walked forward out of the shadows, his eyes in flames as he stared at the two.
"Uncle!" They both called out in unison, their lips parted in surprise. “You two should know better than to run off to kill an orc pack alone” He spat, glaring at his nephews with such rage. But then his gaze drifted down to Bilbo, who stood in front of him. “But you.. I expected better” Thorin hissed at the hobbit, causing his heart to break. Why should the hobbit feel sad? Of course nothing would change how the dwarf acted towards him. Thorin was the most stubborn being he’s met, and when he has his mind set on something, he keeps it that way. The dwarf king turned back to his nephews. “Dwalin was looking all over for you! Do you not know of the panic you’ve caused?” “We’re sorry, Uncle” Fili said in a hushed tone, shuffling his feet nervously. “Go back to the camp!” He ordered them, turning around on his heel, facing his back to the three. Fili and Kili ran back without hesitation, brushing past bushes and stepping heavily on leaves that had fallen from the trees. Bilbo stopped and looked at the dwarf for a moment, watching his chest rise and fall calmly. For some reason, the young hobbit had hoped that Thorin could see something else in him. Worth or, perhaps, friendship. Even though the two had their obvious differences, Bilbo Baggins admired the dwarf greatly. Without a word, the burglar began to quietly walk back to the camp, when Thorin cleared his throat, making him stop in his place. “Not you, Master Burglar” He said with a dangerous tone, making Bilbo wince, not daring to turn around. “How am I to trust such a.. hobbit, with the deed of helping us on this journey if he does not know the difference between bravery and stupidity” Thorin spat in a hushed tone, taking a step towards Bilbo with each passing second. Every word that he said stung Bilbo in his head, making his chest shake as he tried not to cry out. “You.. You could’ve..” The tone in the dwarf’s voice changed instantly, almost shaking as he spoke. It took Bilbo by surprise, when he turned around, finding dwarf pulled the hobbit to his fur-coated chest, embracing him tightly, nuzzling his head against his shoulder. Bilbo instantly stiffened when Thorin did so, for he was not used to anyone showing such affection towards him. “You could’ve been killed” He whispered against his ear, his hot breath tickling Bilbo’s cheek. “T-Thorin?” The hobbit asked in a confused tone, not daring to move his arms. “Bilbo.. you could’ve been killed” He repeated, shaking his head against Bilbo’s shoulder. His voice was full of pain and thought, and even though the hobbit did not feel it himself, it stung his heart the same. Slowly, Bilbo pressed a hand over Thorin’s chest, before slinging the other one over his waist softly. The kings’ breath hitched in his throat as Bilbo touched him, before pulling the young burglar closer. “Your heart is beating so fast..” He whispered, almost inaudible as he felt Thorin’s heart thumping under his chest. “Please be careful. I do not know what would be of me if you had suffered such a fate as death. You are not to go running into the blue when danger is in front of you without the company of your friends” Thorin nodded, before pulling back, looking down at the hobbits face with adoration. Bilbo blushed under his gaze, looking down at his feet nervously. “Promise me” He said quickly, raising a hand under Bilbo’s chin, pulling his face up to look at his. “Promise me you will not do that again” Thorin sighed, stroking Bilbo’s bottom lip as he held his chin. The hobbit flinched at his rough, calloused hand touching his skin, for it was an alien feeling. However, it was a feeling that Bilbo relished greatly, for he had longed for Thorin to do so. Even though the thought came to him now, he always felt some sort of connection with the brooding dwarf. Wether it was love or friendship, Bilbo could not tell back then. For how could he love someone so great? But as the dwarf stroked his lip soothingly, his eyes planted where his thumb stroked, Bilbo felt something in his heart that made him make a promise to Thorin. For he found that it was love that had bloomed within him, making him smile like a fool whenever the dwarf was in his presence. Mr.Baggins did not wish for this moment to end in a hurry. “I promise” With this, Thorins’ smile reached his eyes as he leaned forward to press a warm kiss on Bilbo’s nose, his beard and hair tickling his face as he did so. “I can not bare the thought of loosing you” Thorin whispered against his ear as he snaked an arm around his waist, before walking back into the camp. Bilbo leaned against his strong shoulder as their walked, feeling his muscles moving as they did. His mind spun as he thought of what the two were to become when their journey came to an end. For he knew, in his heart, that he belonged with the dwarf, no matter where his home stood. … “I’m not going anywhere” ~x~

You are my home
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 1,636 Note From Author: Before Bilbo Baggins leaves Erebor to go home to The Shire, his heart tells him that he must say a private goodbye to Thorin before he probably never sees him again. As Bilbo begins to leave, he dreads every step. ~x~ Bilbo Baggins exhaled a large sigh as he stood outside of the royal door that separated the hallway from Thorin’s room in Erebor. The hobbit had been staying over at the great dwarf kingdom for weeks now, for the conditions for travelling back to The Shire were not suitable for Bilbo and Gandalf to travel in, so they had waited until it had cleared up. And today was a fine day. The sun hung high in the sky, gleaming down on the mountain and the city of Dale, which was being rebuilt at that very moment. The air was crisp and clean, with a light breeze blowing into the valley. A fine day to travel, indeed. In fact, Bilbo thought that he ought to be happy about the good weather. But a part of him died inside when he noticed the sunshine and clear skies. It was time for his journey to end. Bilbo did not wish for it to end, for this journey had changed his life. For the better, who could say? But he had made great friendships and had found something within The Company that he had not felt for another being ever since his parents passed away. And that was love. With most of them, it was a sort of family-love, filled with merry laughter and jokes and hugs. But for one particular dwarf to Bilbo, it had bloomed into something much more intimate. Bilbo Baggins knew not the feeling of falling in love, for he had never felt it before. But he had read about it in great stories of kings and queens, and he somehow knew what it was when he felt it. He was completely smitten with the dwarf king. And now, as he had found something so beautiful and rare as love, he now had to leave it.
With a heavy heart, the quiet hobbit softly knocked on the golden-framed door, before pausing to wait for an answer. It was silent for a moment, the only sound that Bilbo could hear were the distant chatter of dwarves in other parts of the mountain. Finally, he heard a low voice call from behind the door, permitting him to enter. With a deep breath, the young hobbit pushed down on the handle and swung open the door, revealing a well-decorated room. There was royal chairs and sofas of red and blue velvety-materials, with silver rims and legs. A bed stood at the back of the room, it’s frame completely wooden and the drapes tied around the posts of the bed. The covers were white, and the pillows were splayed across the mattress, some spilt on the ground. The walls were plain, except for a few dwarvish painting that Bilbo found himself staring at for longer then he should. Across from Bilbo was two doors, revealing a balcony that overlooked the land in front of them and Dale. Thorin sat in one of the chairs next to a fire in the fireplace that cracked. The dwarf slowly turned his face to Bilbo’s, closing a book that he seemed to be reading. Funny. Bilbo didn’t picture Thorin being one to read. As soon as the king’s eyes rested apon Bilbo’s, his eyes softened and a warm smile crept across his face as he walked over to the hobbit. “Bilbo?” Thorin titled his head slightly to the side when he noticed Bilbo’s mouth dipped down in a sorrowful frown. “Thorin, I… I-I’m leaving.. uh- today” The hobbit whispered lowly, in an almost inaudible volume. The dwarf’s lips parted as he took a sharp intake of breath, his face full of confusion and hurt. Bilbo winced as he saw hurt swell in Thorin’s blue eyes, so he turned his gaze to his feet.
“You’re what?” Thorin managed to croak, his voice hoarse as he felt the tears prick at the corners of his eyes. “Bilbo?” A rough, shaky voice called out from within the halls of Erebor, a voice that belonged to Gandalf the Grey. To Bilbo’s relief, the wizard had volunteered to accompany the hobbit on his journey back to The Shire and had been waiting for the small fellow to start his trip back home a few minutes ago. “One second!” Bilbo called out, his hands shaking as he wrapped his left hand around his right elbow, wanting nothing more than to shrink and disappear. “I have to return home, T-Thorin..” Bilbo stuttered, his heart aching with every word he spoke. “I belong back in The Shire”. I belong with you. He thought, biting down on his lip to stop him from tearing up as he looked back up to Thorin. The dwarf said no words and did nothing, except stand in place and gaze down at the hobbit as if he was imagining this conversation. They stood there for a while, the overwhelming silence driving Bilbo’s mind mad. Why did he make this decision? It would’ve been oh so much more simpler to leave without a goodbye, for Bilbo dreaded farewells. “Bilbo!” The voice called again, shaking Mr.Baggins from his thoughts quickly. “Gandalf is waiting.. I should..” He stumbled over his vocabulary, searching frantically for the right words. But he could not find any. Bilbo could not leave Thorin like this, without telling the dwarf how much he truly meant for him. That he longed to stay by his side, but that a hobbit belonged in his home. The king only nodded, a solemn expression plastered on his face, his eyes growing cold and his lips dipping down in a frown. But what seemed to hurt Bilbo the most, was to watch a tear roll from Thorin’s glassy eyes and hit with a soft tap on the wooden-planked floor below them, leaving a dark spot where the tear had landed. The hobbit cried inside, his heart feeling as if it were being torn to shreds. Walk away, Bilbo. He told himself, slowly turning on his heel, prepared to leave the room. But something snapped within his head, and before he had time to think it through, he whirled around and placed a long, warm kiss on the tip of Thorin’s nose, before scattering off down the hall, leaving a speechless Thorin alone in his room. As the hobbit ran through the hallways and around the corners of Erebor, grunting as the heavy bag that was strapped around his back thumped against his shoulders with each step, tears slid across his face, falling off his chin, landing on the floor behind him. Bilbo coughed and heaved as he began to sob, his pace quickening as he spotted the light coming from an arch, which stood as the exit. Outside of the arch, waited a tall, slightly-annoyed Gandalf with a horse and a pony by his side. When his eyes fell on Bilbo, his busy eyebrows furrowed together. “My dear lad. What ever is the matter?” He asked as Bilbo regained his breath, staggering to the side as he tried to stop his head from spinning. “Never mind it” He dismissed quickly, flicking his hand as if it were no big deal. But love has it’s ways of standing out to those who have a keen eye. With a brief nod, the great, tall wizard began to stride forwards, leading the ponies by ropes, tugging them behind him. His cloak was almost completely stained black and deep-red at the bottom, as the effect of the battle that had gone on weeks before. Obviously, the wizard seemed to either have forgotten about the filthiness of his clothing or he was too lazy to wash up. Either way, the thought left Bilbo’s mind when he stepped one step forward, his heart thumping faster as he thought about never seeing his dwarf again. For such a thing was to be too hard to bare. Another step he took, his pace quickening with every few seconds. “Come on, Bilbo. We should use our daylight well if we are ever to get back to The Shire” Gandalf called up from ahead, keeping his back to the young hobbit. “You have to let go of him” Mr.Baggins whispered aloud to himself, shutting his eyes as he began to set a slow, steady pace away from the mountain. And with each step he took, the further away Thorin would be. Thorin was king of Erebor, and his life would soon be busy as Dale would begin to flourish back into the rich town it once was. It was quite likely that the two would never meet again, had Bilbo managed to get a few meters away from the mountain when he heard his name being called by a familiar, low voice, followed by heavy footsteps stomping on the ground. Gandalf stopped in his tracks, turning around with an annoyed expression. Before Bilbo had the chance to look at who called his name, a large hand gripped his shoulder tightly, spinning him around. “Wh-“ And that was when Thorin Oakenshield kissed Bilbo Baggins. It took the hobbit completely by surprise, for he thought that he saw the last of his dwarf back in his room, when he had left him alone, crying. And as Bilbo began to kiss him back, Thorin pulled away, keeping their faces close. Quickly, he raised both of his hands and placed them on either side, looking deeply into his eyes with a soft smile. “You cannot leave me” He croaked, his eyes red from the tears he had previously shed. Bilbo smiled into his touch, raising a smaller hand and placing it over Thorin’s. “Please… you are my home, Master Burglar. And I wish that I am yours” He hummed, placing his forehead against Bilbo’s affectionately. The hobbit smiled, his face beet-red as he relished the feeling of Thorin’s skin on his. … “Thorin-” ~x~

It is settled
Fandom: The Hobbit Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield Words: 1,205 Note From Author: Sorry, this one's super short ;~; I'll try to get two more up before I head off tonight! After Bilbo returns back to The Shire, Thorin made the decision to stay in Erebor. However, this evening, Bilbo finds that the king has come over for a visit. And during his stay, Thorin makes an important decision. ~x~ A knock on the door brought Bilbo’s attention from his book. It was around evening, for the sun had set hours ago. Of course, the hobbit hadn’t known until now that it was dark, for he had spent hours with his face in his book. This was no surprise to him, for Bilbo Baggins would usually now spend his quiet evenings reading with a cup of tea and a light snack by the fire on his favourite chair, which was with a red velvety sort of material. The hobbit stood up, placing his book on a small wooden table with a rounded-top, which had books splayed out across its surface. He grabbed his tea and took it with him, sipping the warm liquid slowly, tasting the sweet flavour. After he had returned back home to The Shire, which was months ago, Bilbo Baggins felt quite lonely without the familiar company of the dwarves with him. For soon during his journey, he had gotten quite used to the yelling, laughter and chatter that the dwarves had brought with them, along with all the dwarvish merry songs that they sometime sung. He dearly longed for the familiar voices and faces of The Company, for they had soon became something of family to him. He even missed the mischief of Fili and Kili, which had proved the journey to be slightly more difficult with their practical jokes and pranks that they would pull, but it would always end in a good laugh. But since Bilbo had been home, he had no visitors. He soon came to the conclusion that they had forgotten about him. And who was he to blame them? Bilbo was only such a small fellow, and they had their whole lives full of exciting adventures ahead of them.
As he approached his green door, curiosity took over him. It could not possibly be any dwarf, for they would’ve wrote to him if they were to visit him. Perhaps it was Gandalf, or Lobelia Sackville-Baggins, who would constantly knock on his door demanding a necklace or a golden ring of the sort, whom he would always deny. If he were to see her knock on his door at this time of night, hah, he would be beyond frustrated. Quickly, he swung open his door, almost knocking over his tea and began to tell Lobelia that she would not receive any of the treasures that he had gotten as his 14th share from the journey. But as the first letter spilled out of his mouth, he stopped and froze. As his eyes looked into the once cold, now warm, blue color of another pair, Bilbo’s hands began to shake. The tea rippled as he shook, struggling to keep back the tears that pricked at the hobbits’ eyes. Oh, how this must be his mind making things up. But, it was not, for the dwarf in front of him began to speak. “Bilbo” Thorin sighed out, his deep voice sending shivers down Bilbo’s neck. Without a word, the hobbit quickly set the teacup on the floor and leaped into Thorin’s arms, which outstretched as he saw the hobbit run towards him. Mr.Baggins snuggled his face into the familiar warmth of his fur-coat, his chest shaking as warm tears trailed down from his eyes, past his nose, lips and patted softly on Thorin’s coat. “T-Thorin..” Bilbo whispered into his shoulder, his voice hoarse. The hobbit managed to squeeze his arms around the dwarf tighter, his mind spinning. “Oh, how I’ve missed you” He sighed once he pulled away, wiping the tears from his face, his face flushed from crying. The dwarf smiled a sincere smile, raising a large hand to rest on Bilbo’s shoulder. “As have I, Master Burglar” Mr.Baggins closed his eyes as he heard his once-familiar title that he had gotten over the journey, and quickly ushered Thorin inside, insisting that he would catch a cold if he were to stay outside any longer. The night went by quickly, for they caught up with each other during a late-dinner of fish and a wide mix of vegetables. Thorin’s life in Erebor sounded like it was everything he wanted, for he had his friends, family and kingdom with him. He talked of the long dinner-nights with dwarves of many titles, whom were more than often drunk messes. Thorin spoke of Dale being rebuilt. And with the help of the riches in Erebor, the town of Dale began to thrive and was now a well-known place for clothing, jewellery, smiths and talented craftsmen. And as he spoke, sometimes chuckling, Bilbo Baggins began to realise how much he had missed this dwarf. They had grown close over the journey to reclaim Erebor, and Bilbo felt more at home with Thorin here than any other time before. However, the dwarf’s face fell into grief once Bilbo began to explain his quiet life in Hobbiton. “You are lonely?” Thorin asked slowly, his eyebrows furrowed as if he were conflicted with himself. “.. In some way, I suppose” It took a moment for Bilbo to reply, for the question took him by surprise. Bilbo Baggins looked at the dwarf softly, his breathing slowing as he took in ever detail of his face. As his journey was soon to come to an end, the hobbit had discovered some type of feeling for Thorin Oakenshield. He did not know what it was in the beginning, for it was an unfamiliar emotion and he would always feel it warm his heart whenever he looked at the dwarf king. But as he had left Erebor to journey back home with Gandalf, he had looked back and had seen the same emotion in Thorin’s eyes. For from that moment on, Bilbo knew it was love. It had started growing earlier into their adventure, but it bloomed like a flower oh so quickly. And when realisation had hit Bilbo, he was on his way home. It crushed him to leave Thorin, but his head knew he had to go back to The Shire, with people of his own kind, where he belonged. But his heart told him that he belonged with Thorin, and Thorin with he. “That’s settled, then” Thorin interrupted Bilbo’s thoughts, as minutes had passed by quickly without the hobbit even noticing. The dwarf stood up and walked around the table, before standing beside Bilbo and looking down at him with a small, gentle smile. “What’s settled?” He asked quickly, tilting his chin so that he could look up at the dwarf. And suddenly, Thorin swooped down and placed his rough lips against Bilbo’s. The hobbit froze for a moment, his heart racing faster then the wind, feeling as if it were about to burst out of his chest. And when Thorin’s lips began to move slowly against his, the hobbit replied back, pushing closer against the dwarf as he stood up slowly, placing two hands on his broad shoulders. When the king pulled away, Bilbo made a small sound of protest, before looking into his eyes, his face beet-red. Thorin raised a hand to Bilbo’s cheek, caressing it gently, before trailing his thumb to the hobbit’s soft lip. ... “I must stay with you, Master Baggins”
