Customer Service: Where Character A works Customer Service at a restaurant/business and Character B and their child are customers. Character A first notices a really cute kid only to notice that, hey, the parent is actually very beautiful too. What the hell?
So this is actually my first Dungeon Meshi fic and the fact that it's a modern AU is a nice little callback to my first Bagginshield fic being a modern AU oneshot. So I hope you guys enjoy and I did these characters justice.
Cooking is Better with Company
Ship: Pots n' Picks (Chilchuck/Senshi)
Rating: G
Warning(s): N/A
Words: 2534
Senshi’s dream had always been to own his own restaurant. Nothing too fancy. Just a small place full of comfort food for families to come and gather. It had taken a long time. Lots of clawing and fighting in his youth to get here, but finally The Golem’s Garden Bistro came to be. Senshi had a few hired hands to wait on the customer, but as for making the food? That pleasure belonged solely to him. Because of it, there wasn’t often a chance to go out and greet a customer personally. So when one found him, he was more than a little caught off-guard.
“Whatcha doing?”
Senshi turned around, eyebrows jumping high on his head at the sight of the adorable little blonde girl with a wide grin.
“Making bread.” He answered.
Somehow her grin grew even wider. “Can I help?”
Senshi hesitated. Clearly she belonged to someone in the dining room, and he would imagine they were looking everywhere for her. However, it has always been hard to resist a sweet little one.
“Okay, but then you need to go back to your family. Alright?”
“Kay!” She squealed before running over to where Senshi stood.
Senshi looked around for something for her to stand on before finding a footstool Falin had to use sometimes to reach the top shelf in the storage room. She still stood a bit shorter than the countertop, but at least she was able to peer over it to see what Senshi was doing. They made sure to wash her hands clean, as all good cooks do, he explained. Then he would pull off bits of dough to have her squish into a ball and put in the pan. They continued on in this way, finding their own little rhythm as Senshi put the rolls in the oven to cook.
“Now while we wait, why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself?”
She took a deep breath before launching into the longest spew of words in the shortest amount of time that Senshi had ever heard. Apparently her name was Puckpatti, and she had a mom, a dad, and two sisters. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite animal was dragons. Senshi smiled and hummed or agreed in the appropriate place as he took the rolls out of the oven, and listened to her tell him about her favorite class at school and why. That’s when the kitchen door opened once more. Senshi looked over expecting to see Laios or Marcille back for their orders, but instead it was another little girl with red braids staring back at them before turning and shouting into the dining room.
“I FOUND HER, PAPA! SHE’S COOKING IN THE KITCHEN!”
It wasn’t seconds later that the door banged open again and a small red headed man came running in. Senshi blinked in surprise. He had one of those boyish faces that belied his age if the strands of gray in his hair was anything to go off. His eyes were dark and soul-sucking, even caught in a panic like he was now. Senshi didn’t know if he had ever seen a more beautiful man in his life.
“Patti! Where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” He cried, gripping the young girl by her arms.
“But Papa, I was making rolls with Mr. Senshi.” She cooed.
“And you!” The man turned towards Senshi. “What do you think you’re doing? I’ve been half scared out of my mind and you’re back here keeping my daughter from me!”
“But I…” Senshi began before he was cut off.
“No!” The man snapped, holding his hand out in front of him. “Don’t even bother making excuses. If this is the kind of business you’re running, you’ve seen the last of us! Come on Patti.”
“But Papa, you haven’t tried one of our rolls.” Patti pouted.
The man hesitated at seeing her hurt expression before grabbing one of the finished rolls off the counter. He took a large angry bite only to melt a moment later in bliss. Senshi felt himself blush having never gotten to experience someone’s reaction to his food firsthand. The man finished off the roll, licking the butter off his fingers, when he realized Senshi was watching him. His face turned a delightful shade of red before he grabbed both his daughters by their hands.
“Say goodbye, Patti.” He grumbled.
Not the least bit put out by her father’s mood, the little blonde turned back to Senshi with a wide grin.
“Bye, Mr. Senshi! See you next time!”
With that the door closed behind the family, and for a moment Senshi just stood there utterly bewildered by the whirlwind that he experienced. It was a shame he never caught the man’s name, but he figured he was probably never going to see him again anyways. No use lamenting over something he would never get to have anyways. Senshi finished up the bread and moved on to making potstickers. For the first time, he found himself actually aware of the silence closing in around him. Perhaps it would be good for him to interact more with the customers. He didn’t realize how starved he was for chatter until Patti burst into his life. Resolved to make more of an effort to get out of the kitchen every once in a while, Senshi went back to pouring his all into his food.
***
The next day came and went, and Senshi never left the kitchen. Nor the day after that, nor the day after that. Turns out it was hard to break the habit now that he had it, and the temporary loneliness he had felt had now passed. It had been nice getting to know Patti, but he was fine. Everything about his life was fine. It was almost exactly one week later as Senshi was frying up some tempura when he was greeted by another little voice.
“Hello, Mr. Senshi! Can I help?”
He turned, expecting to see Patti, but this was a different little girl with dark hair and a soft, shy smile. Senshi had learned his lesson though.
“Why don’t you run back to your parents?” He offered instead.
Suddenly, her smile turned into a pout with puffed out cheeks.
“Patti got to cook with you!” The little girl complained.
Senshi blinked. “You’re Patti’s sister?”
“Yeah! My name’s Flertom.” She introduced, her smile returning for only a moment before she looked up at him with big pleading eyes. “Please, Mr. Senshi. I just want to help for a little bit.”
Senshi really should say no. There was no way he would let the little girl around the fryer anyways. Besides that, he didn’t want to give her father any more reason to come back here, puffed up and irritated…Of course, now that he thought about it, it would be a great way to see him again. Senshi finally relented, catching Laios to have him give the ‘small red headed man’ a message that his daughter was back here.
Senshi knew that would buy him at least twenty minutes as Laios could get very distracted, so he had Flertom help him dip the tempura in its batter, and then he carefully put it in the fryer for her. Her eyes grew big when they came out all nice and golden brown, and he praised her work on making sure the coating was even. Sure enough they had just finished when the door flew open.
“Flertom! What are you doing?! You said you were just going to the bathroom.” The man demanded.
“I did.” She explained, hopping off her stool. “And then I came in to help Mr. Senshi. Try a bite, Papa! It’s so good.”
Senshi held out a section of the tempura to the man who’s dark eyes seemed to be trying to glare holes into him. Finally, he snatched the piece and popped it into his mouth. His expression all but melted as he turned his head away from Senshi.
“It’s very good.” He grumbled.
“I’m glad you like it!” He stated happily. “And I’m glad you came back.”
The man turned and opened his mouth like he was going to say something, before shaking his head and grabbing Flertom’s hand. She waved goodbye to him all the way until the door shut behind them. Senshi let out a small laugh. He was starting to get used to these little visits. He wondered what the man’s favorite dish was? Maybe he could have it ready for him next time.
***
Senshi waited the next week for some adorable little girl to poke her head in his kitchen, only to be disappointed. He even poked his head out into the dining room a couple of times, but couldn’t catch sight of the family. Maybe he really did scare him off for good that time. Senshi tried to find his rhythm again around his disappointment, but he was reminded again of the loneliness of his situation. Even Marcille was asking after him to make sure everything was okay. Senshi’s food still was amazing, he would never sink so low to serve a subpar meal, but he started to realize he didn’t have a life outside of this restaurant. Perhaps he should take Laios up on his offer to play tabletop with them at some point?
In any case, Senshi didn’t have much hope for the next week until he turned to see three beaming faces staring up at him.
“Hello, Mr. Senshi!” The girls greeted in unison.
Senshi chuckled in relief. “Welcome back! Does your father know where you are?”
“He is aware.” A voice sighed.
Senshi turned to see the red haired man enter the kitchen, rubbing the back of his head as he refused to make eye contact.
“Don’t suppose you could use some helping hands? They were rather insistent.”
Senshi beamed brightly before assuring him he would love to have the company. Senshi and the other man helped the girls wash their hands before Senshi set them up with making rolls, asking Patti if she remembered how. She assured him she did, and Senshi watched for a little bit before feeling confident that the girls would be able to shape the rolls with no problem. He handed over his knife to the father.
“How handy are you at chopping vegetables?”
“Less than I care to admit, but yeah. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
Senshi watched him for a moment before coming up behind him and moving his hand into a more optimal position. The man tensed t before allowing Senshi to manipulate his movements.
“You won’t wear yourself out this way.” Senshi explained, moving away.
“Yeah, thanks.” The man stated, his cheeks reddened.
Strange. Senshi didn’t think it was that warm in here. Of course, he’s certainly gotten used to it over the years.
“I’m Senshi, by the way.” He introduced as he molded the dumplings.
“Chilchuck.” The man responded.
Chilchuck. It suited him.
“You weren’t here last week.” Senshi remarked as casually as he could.
“Yeah, their mother wanted to take them on a trip last weekend so we switched around my weeks with them.”
Senshi blinked as he zoned in on the placement of his words. Their mother. Switched weeks. He had a better idea as to Chilchuck’s relationship status at least. Something that certainly settled nicely within him.
“And you come here every time you have the girls?” Senshi asked in genuine awe.
Chilchuck seemed to take it as more of a criticism as his hand tightened around the knife in his hand.
“It’s good food in decent quantities at an affordable price.” He snapped. “It’s not like I take them out for fast food all the time.”
Senshi tried to repress a shudder and failed. Oh no, he certainly couldn’t do that. Nutrition was important for the little ones, and it was something Senshi always prided himself in his food. Good tasting and good for you. Senshi spared a glance towards Chilchuck who still seemed to be bitter over the conversation. He felt a small smile grace his lips. He was clearly a good father, he just didn’t seem to know how to ask for help.
“I could teach you.” Senshi offered.
“Teach me?” Chilchuck repeated, his brows furrowed.
“To cook.”
Chilchuck smirked. “You mean my superb chopping skills haven’t wowed you yet.”
Senshi kindly pushed him aside as he took the knife out of his hand and had the vegetables chopped within seconds. The smaller man blinked in surprise as Senshi dumped the ingredients into his stir fry without spilling a single onion.
“You’re getting there.” He encouraged.
The corner of Chilchuck’s mouth curled. “Show-off.” He accused.
“Mr. Senshi! Mr. Senshi!” The girls cheered. “We finished!”
Senshi put the slightly protesting Chilchuck in charge of the stir-fry despite his exclamations of it being hot as he checked on the girls’ work. He held his thumb up.
“Well done! Now it just needs a brush of butter and to go into the oven.”
They cheered and giggled and promised to watch the oven closely and let him know the minute the rolls developed a nice brown top. Senshi slid in beside Chilchuck, gently extracting the pan and spoon from him as he tossed everything into the air and caught it again before plating it up. He called out for Laios, Fallin, and Marcille to take the dishes out to the customers, which they did only after giving the family in Senshi’s kitchen an odd look.
“I noticed you’re not open on Mondays.”
Senshi spun around to see Chilchuck had his hands crossed behind the back of his head, his eyes staring off into the distance.
“Got to go home at some point.” Senshi responded.
Chilchuck smirked at him before he averted his gaze again. “I was thinking…it might be a good time to take you up on your offer.”
“What offer?” Senshi replied automatically as he began steaming the dumplings he made.
He could feel the annoyance rolling off Chilchuck’s tongue without even turning around to look.
“The offer to help me learn how to cook.”
Senshi blinked in surprise, his movements stilling. Oh.
“I would like to be able to make something for when the girls aren’t around and it would probably be easier on my wallet in the long run.”
Senshi spun around catching sight of the fetching pink spreading out across Chilchuck’s cheeks. He grinned happily as that feeling of loneliness evaporated completely.
“I would truly enjoy that.”
Chilchuck smiled for a small moment, his eyes bright and shining, when the girls declared the bread to be done. Senshi rushed over to take it out of the oven, and as the smell of freshly baked bread wafted through the air, he found himself with four identical gazes of near-drooling reverence. Considering orders had slowed down, Senshi set them up a little spot out of the way where they were able to enjoy the bread and dumplings they helped make. As the family made little pleased noises with every bite, Senshi vowed to determine what their favorite foods were and make it for them as long as he was able.

20 Questions for Writers
I was tagged by @elvain! Thank you so much! 💖
1. How many works do you have on AO3? We're currently sitting at 29 (28 for Tolkien, and 1 for OFMD)
2. What's your total AO3 word count? Based on everything I've POSTED on ao3, we're at 659,963 words, but I have plenty of things that I've yet to post!
3. What fandoms do you write for? Tolkien (Bagginshield), mostly. Though I've written for OFMD once, and wouldn't mind revisiting that fandom!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? May Your Forge Burn Bright / (Take Me Back To) The Night We Met / Dragonhearted / An Ink-Stained Vow / Concerning Dwobbits
5. Do you respond to comments? I always try to, anyway. There may be some that I just don't get to (I'm sorry!)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I am predominantly a "happy ending" fic writer, I don't actually think I've written something that has a sad or angsty ending?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of them are happy endings, if I can help it! I think my favorite happy ending so far is from When Darkness Shines Brightest - the fic overall is so angsty, and for it to have a happily ever after, it makes it worth it.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I have, yeah, and it's not a fun feeling.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do write smut for Bagginshield, so m/m, and nothing too crazy I don't think? Very simple, very vanilla lol
10. Do you write crossovers? I don't. I DO have an idea for one, though, it just may never actually happen.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have, yep!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Bagginshield, hands down!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? This is a hard one, I have so many IDEAS that have yet to reach WIP stage, so I don't know. I am pretty hell-bent on finishing everything that's actively in progress, currently.
16. What are your writing strengths? Descriptions, maybe? I am wordy...and like establishing every single little detail if possible. I also like to think the dialogue I put out is pretty decent!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Definitely angsty content/dark themes, battle scenes, but also just overall self-confidence? I think I struggle with maybe being a little TOO wordy sometimes.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I'm definitely okay with it! Khuzdul, for the win!
19. First fandom you wrote for? For actual fanfic, Tolkien!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? I love all of my fics for various reasons, but I think my absolute favorite right now has to be Bookbinder//Songwriter, which is still ongoing. But Dragonhearted is a close second - a mashup of The Hobbit and Beauty & The Beast? Yes!!
Tagging: @myeaglesong @i-did-not-mean-to @scyllas-revenge @blueberryrock @perkynurples @ahufflepuffhobbit @blairsanne @cilil @niennawept @fishing4stars and anyone else who wants to play tbh

Ten Questions for Writers
Tagged by the lovely @mintedwitcher - Thank you!
Q1. how many works do you have on ao3?
Seven on this account, but there are a fair amount of orphaned works by me floating about, too!
Q2. what's your total ao3 word count?
274,610
Q3. what fandoms do you write for?
Only bagginshield just now.
Q4. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I do! I've probably missed one or two recently, but I do my best to answer everyone! I think it's so important to respond to people who take the time to leave comments, I've made some amazing friends that way and it's always so fun to chat about fics I've read or written!
Q5. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Sadly, yes!
Q6. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
I haven't, I've never really had the opportunity. I can't work on multiple projects, so the timing has never been right!
Q7. what's your all-time favorite ship?
Bagginshield! I can't help myself, and I don't want to!
Q8. what are your writing strengths?
Oh lordy, I have no idea! I guess I'm good at zeroing in on small details and expanding them into a story?
Q9. what are your writing weaknesses?
Pfft haha, well. We'd be here all day! Thing is, I always say I'm actually not a "good writer" - I'm a good storyteller. The actual technical part of writing isn't my strength at all!
Q10. first fandom you wrote for?
I started with Redwall, then Utena, then Sailor Moon, then Yami No Matsuei, then Jane Eyre, then Rurouni Kenshin, then I wrote some original fiction, then I came back to fanfic with TESO, and now The Hobbit!
Non-obligatory tags for the following: @fantasyinallforms @lordoftherazzles @sunnyrosewritesstuff @domesticgoddesswriter @filiswingman @thatfancygirlinblack and anyone else who'd like to take part!

Look, I know the Hobbit films aren’t considered amazing by many folks, and I get it. They have a lot of flaws. But see, I fell for Bagginshield before even watching the films. I watched the Hobbit movies because I shipped Bagginshield, not the other way around.
It’s a ship that literally sells it’self based solely on fanart and gif sets and size difference and grumpy one/sunshine one/enemies to lovers. PLUS Richard Armitage (take me, Richard Armitage), PLUS PLUS Martin Freeman (just always have Martin Freeman around, gazing up at a hot, obnoxious twat in a special coat. It works so well with him). Come on! What’s not to ship! It’s like someone drew a pentagram on the floor, lit some candles, and summoned me with irresistible Sally catnip. So, in addition to the fact that I ship the fuck out of Kiliel, and the fact that those dwarves are all amazing characters, I really was in it for the 8 hour, 700 million dollar budgeted slow burn fanfiction movie extravaganza of my new favorite ship. It ends with Bilbo sobbing, and clinging to Thorin, begging him not to die, as Thorin confesses his love for Bilbo in the most devastatingly romantic way possible.
So I’m a big fan.

I've seen many posts about people missing how common asks used to be so I have been trying to send about an ask a week. Now I send this ask first anytime I follow someone as I really don't want to bother anyone, so I'd love to know if you enjoy receiving asks and if so what kind of asks. Not having energy for asks or being comfortable with them is perfectly okay.
The categories I have in my ask notebook that I file under are in colour. Please feel free to make your response as long as you want or private (the asker cannot directly respond to private responses).
Self, Job/Work: please let me know what you are comfortable with from eh idk just ask it to nothing personal at all.
Baggishield/Tolkien, Dragon Age, Johnlock/Sherlock, ineffable spouses, other fandom: Please let me know what fandoms. I think my main fandoms and ships are Bagginshield/The Hobbit, Sherlock/Johnlock, Dragon Age Inquisition, {Pippin/Faramir Merry/Eowyn}/The Lord of the Rings and I dip my toes in a few that I currently can't remember but ships I don't engage with the canon of at all are: Good Omens but only for Crowley/Azirapheal, Stranger Things but only for Steve/Eddie , The Witcher but only for Geralt/Jaskier.
OC's, art/drawing, their writing, blog specific only
Story snippets ideas and prompts: Do you like receiving them?
Pets: I'd love to know all about them
Garden and Hobbies: What type of gardening and/or hobbies?
Like being tagged in things: If so what kinds of things?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
Oh, hi!! Well, firstly, thanks for the follow!!! Secondly, I love asks! I (unfortunately) don't always get to certain things (because life and,,,life lmao!) but I do love getting them, and I really want to make the effort to get back to engaging so! Here's the info for your notebook!
Self, Job/Work: Just ask! I usually prefer to keep vague on some things, mostly because I like to keep "professional" socials separate from my fandom ones lol and would prefer there not being a direct connection. But for the most part, I'm flexible on talking about myself :)
Bagginshield/Tolkien YES YES YES UGHHHH I adore all of that. I peeped your profile and saw some Gimli and Legolas I think which is also mi amor <3 Elsewise, I'm all over the place, but do post Supernatural, Good Omens, and Baldur's Gate (i've bought all the Dragon Ages and that's next on my list) with hyperfixations sorting as often as they can. (You can check out my AO3 to see some of my favorites [CBlue], or most often I try tagging fandoms if you need to block anything or want to hunt for something specific. (I'm also stumbling back into some Geraskier too on ocassion!)
I don't have OCs that I post here (they tend to be more on my professional one lol), and my art tag changed because tumblr ate the previous one I'd been using (sometimes its #my art and sometimes its #C Draws or #C Arts), so that's a bit everywhere and not often. I more often post my fandom writings [CBlue on AO3, which if I may pimp out a writing of mine, I wrote Compression, a Bagginshield fic (though, apologies as due to recent AI scalping all of my works are now locked to registered-users exclusively]. This is my everything blog, so everything goes here lol.
Oh my god please send me snippet ideas and prompts. That's one of my favorite ways of engage---spinning with people! That's why I LOVE participating in fandom! I get some of that outlet on a few of the (more intimate) fandom Discords that I'm in, but I'm always open to some of those from asks and such too!!
Pets: I have 6 cats, all of whom are rescues. To the point that the last three were actually rescued out of my wood pile from a storm that was going to hit last year. I don't post pictures of them (mostly to keep that fandom life separation like I mentioned), but I talk about them! People who know me probably also might remember my old man, Tucker, who was the loveliest of puppers. I had to say goodbye to him earlier this year (back in April, and it's just been...a time since then. I miss him often, but every memory is nothing but fondness.) They're all so lovely, and I love talking pets! (If, you know, six cats wasn't an indication ;))
I don't have a garden at the moment, but I do love talking about it!! Hobbies tend to be my fandom hobbies, but I'm also trying to get back into reading more often and I have a few crafts planned. And I love doing a gamer when I can in my free time.
I loved being tagged in things!! I don't always get to them because I am the toxic person (/j) who sees a notification and goes "I will respond when I'm able to," but when the notification is gone I forget all about it. Actually, you've just reminded me that I was tagged in a tag game that I wanted to do, so I'm going to go do that now lol!!
But yeah! I think that's everything and hope it's in any way that makes sense lol. I definitely appreciate you asking!!!

Trying to organize my ask notebook better since I've run out of space under general fandom asks and I would like to know what fandoms you are in so I can ask the correct people about the correct fandoms.
I think my main ones are Bagginshield/The Hobbit, Sherlock/Johnlock, Dragon Age Inquisition, {Pippin/Faramir Merry/Eowyn}/The Lord of the Rings and I dip my toes in a few that I currently can't remember but ones I don't engage in canon at all are Good Omens but only for Crowley/Azirapheal ship, Stranger Things but only for Steve/Eddie ship, The Witcher but only for Geralt/Jaskier things and Ladybug and Cat Noir but only for Adrinette .
Also do you like getting asks that are or include story ideas or snippets?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer within a certain amount of time or at all.
Hey there!
One of the big fandoms for me is the Batfamily, but I also really love the Flash and DC in general. Marvel as well though I tend to prefer DC nowadays. I enjoy the Hobbit and Lotr, but also The old guard, the Witcher (though I have yet to read the books and have only recently started playing the game, I stopped watching the show after 3 episodes, but I know what's going on). I love BBC's Merlin, StarTrek, Hannibal,...
I'm also really into animated shows and movies, my favorite anime is probably Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, but I also watched Inuyasha, Ouran High School Host Club and Fairytail when I was younger (believe me there is a looooot more, but this post is already so long). Ghibli Movies are pure comfort.
Bookwise I've been in love with Lockwood & Co since it came out and it's one of those stories I just love to reread. Rick Riordans books practical raised me. I love classics like Pride and Prejudice or Treasure Island (Disneys Treasure Planet is so good), and I am not normal about Bram Stokers Dracula. SciFi is also good, my favorite is The Illuminae Files (great book, great presentation, absolute pleasure to read).
And well since I am studying ancient history, can't leave it out: Mythology. Especially Greek and Egyptian mythology but I love myths in general. Or ancient texts.
My favorite manga is actually a history manga with time travel and romance thrown in. Red River by Chie Shinohara has been my obsession since I've been twelve. To this day I am not over my favourite characters death. But it is historically accurate so I guess that's that.
Videogame wise I really enjoy stuff like Assassins Creed, Hades from Supergiant, Devil may Cry V, Phoenix rising, Zelda Breath of the Wild. Detroit Become Human is my favourite to this day.
This is only a small part of it , if you're wondering if I know something that's not on the list and want to talk about it, don't hesitate to ask!
AND I would absolutely love getting asks that are or include story ideas and or snippets! I love bouncing story ideas around!

20 questions for fic writers
alright i've been tagged on this a few times so guess it's time to do it....i mean i do luv tag games :)
thanks for the tags @taste-thewaste @agostobuwan @tailsbeth-writes
How many works do you have on ao3?
13- one of which is 25 fics i posted as chapters for a holiday/seasonal themed december thing - most my early work is elsewhere and i didn't do any writing for a good chunk of years lolz
What's your total ao3 word count?
76,771 (most of this was written since nov '23)
What fandoms do you write for?
RWRB currently may dip my toes into 911 at some point (my only non-rwrb fic on ao3 is marvel lol)
Top five fics by kudos:
Ring on His Finger, Putty in HIs Hands (firstprince)
Third Times a Charm? (Darcy Lewis/Clint Barton)
i've got you acting like you want more (firstprince)
- like the way you work it - (firstprince)
gotta sign 'em all (firstprince)
Do you respond to comments?
yes
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
the only thing i can think of that would be angsty towards the end would be Santa Tell Me from my Holiday Bits and Bobs - it was pretty much 1800 words of angst
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably the second hand unwinds - it was one of my hey sweetheart fics and is pretty much just shy of 3700 words of alex being a sap (and the boys being cute girl!dads)
Do you get hate on fics?
um not hate - but recently a weird 'that couldn't have happened cuz of yada yada' kind of comment
Do you write smut?
LOLZ - that's like most of what i write *gigglesnorts*
Craziest crossover:
don't have any of these
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i don't think so
Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not yet! but i'm super excited to work on the one with @agostobuwan💚
All time favorite ship?
omg - i don't know that's too hard - i can tell you current fave is firstprince but my all time fave might actually be HP/CharlieW - maybe? or if we're going off amount i've read for it hp/dm or kirk/mccoy oh or bagginshield
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
i had always planned go back and do more for my darcy/clint fic and make it into a series, but those ideas that got written down lamented away in a doc and are gone now lol
What are your writing strengths?
um....i don't know do i have these - i can write smut fairly well
What are your writing weaknesses?
i usually hafta go back and make sure i didn't just get uber prose-y and included enough dialogue - unless i'm doing it on purpose
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
cool if it works for the character - i really like when there's a translation somewhere - unless it's obvious what it means
First fandom you wrote in?
wrote in and posted somewhere - HP - followed closely by Idol RPF - i dabbled in other things that never got posted tho b4 that (the usuals for any 'lil geeky girl - star wars, star trek, angel, buffy
Favorite fic you've written?
idk - maybe something in your mouth cuz it just came togther so quickly and was fun to write (even if i intially thought it was gonna be smuttier lolz) or maybe my silly lil fairytale baby just say yes that topped out over 20k it's my first RWRB actual AU posted that wasn't just a small ficlet
alright so few quick tags to: @typicalopposite @adreamareads @inexplicablymine @stellarm

Ten Questions for Writers
Thank you for the tag @conkers-thecosy! ❤️
Q1. how many works do you have on ao3?
Currently 29, but that will go up soon
Q2. what's your total ao3 word count?
269,126
Q3. what fandoms do you write for?
I have one good omens fic, but I mostly write Bagginshield, and I see myself doing that for the foreseeable future.
Q4. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I absolutely do. I like to show my appreciation to everyone who has taken the time to read my work! I don't always respond super fast, but I do respond.
Q5. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes.
Q6. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, but I want to! I actually have an idea for one that I think would be fun.
Q7. what's your all-time favorite ship?
Bagginshield. All day, every day. Tattooed to my body.
Q8. what are your writing strengths?
I like to think I have good pacing and characterization.
Q9. what are your writing weaknesses?
My beta reader has full edit access to all my docs because I refuse to post something unless she edits it first. My dyslexic arse misses far too many things.
Q10. first fandom you wrote for?
I have read so much fan fiction, but the Hobbit fandom was the first time I actually felt inspired to write something. I couldn't be more happy about that.

Ten Questions for Writers
I was tagged by @conkers-thecosy and now that I'm not rushing to get out updates I thought I would come back to do this! 🤩
Q1. how many works do you have on ao3?
Beneath the Oak Tree was my 58th work!
Q2. what's your total ao3 word count?
486,261
Q3. what fandoms do you write for?
Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and Tintin is all that I've posted to AO3, but I'm looking to add a few more here come October.
Q4. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I do! I try to anyways. 😅 I'm a bit slow, but honestly I do enjoy getting a chance to thank people for reading my work and my favorite is when I get to spew all these behind-the-scenes facts.
Q5. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
Q6. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yes! I've done writer collabs with @thotinshield for our fics: What Happened in 30C and Secrets in the Blue Mountain Apartment. And another with @lordoftherazzles for our fic: They Stole My Heart (Along with the Rest of Him).
I actually love writer collabs! Looking forward to another this upcoming fall with the Hobbit: An Unexpected Collab event.
Q7. what's your all-time favorite ship?
I think anyone who has seen my AO3 page would understand it's Bagginshield. 😂
Q8. what are your writing strengths?
You know, I would have to say my sense of humor with my writing. I get compliments on it all the time, and seeing as there's literally not a single thing I write that doesn't have a smidge of humor (yes even smut and angst), that's what I'm going to have to go with. 😆
Q9. what are your writing weaknesses?
Bleh. These questions. Uhhhh, I don't feel like I do a good job of fleshing out a scene. I think sometimes I get very action driven or dialogue heavy and it's not until I go back later and read it that I realize it's very bare bones. So that's something I always have to work on.
Q10. first fandom you wrote for?
...Mario fandom, Daisy/Luigi. 🫣😂 Ah, yes. The early days of ff.net...🤣
Alright, let's see who to tag...@lucigoo @thotinshield @middleearthpixie @middleearthmama and @mordellestories but feel free to do it for yourself even if I didn't tag you! I love reading other people's answers.

Ten Questions for Writers
Tagged by @conkers-thecosy! Thank you so much!
Q1. how many works do you have on ao3?
Currently sitting at 30, though hoping to change that very soon with new stories!
Q2. what's your total ao3 word count?
714,567
Q3. what fandoms do you write for?
Just Tolkien, atm, primarily Bagginshield.
Q4. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I try to reply to comments as much as possible - even if it's just an emoji reply to show the commenter I saw it and appreciated what they said! Some may slip beneath the radar, and I do get delayed in how long it takes me, but I do see them!
Q5. have you ever had a fic stolen?
No? I don't think so. At least not that I know of.
Q6. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
I have! Sunnyrose and I co-wrote a fic for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Collaboration event last year!
Q7. what's your all-time favorite ship?
Bagginshield, hands down!
Q8. what are your writing strengths?
I don't really know what I would call my own personal writing strengths, but maybe like...fluffy stuff? Sometimes dialogue? It really just depends. Someone else answer this for me please lol
Q9. what are your writing weaknesses?
Fight scenes? Run-on sentences? Angst? Self-criticism? Reception? There are a lot of things I could put here that may or may not apply to the question lol
Q10. first fandom you wrote for?
For fanfiction, Tolkien! I was a long-term roleplayer before that, but since we're talking about fic, that's the answer you get!

ten questions for writers!
i got tagged by @actuallyitsellie @tiltingheartand and @rdng1230 🤍
how many works do you have on ao3? 10
what’s your total ao3 word count? 99,028
what fandoms do you write for? actually posting on AO3 just 9-1-1, but just for funsies for myself or with my friends throughout the years I've done Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Final Fantasy XV, Teen Wolf, Supernatural, NCIS, DC, Marvel, The Hobbit a little bit of everything it feels like haha
do you respond to comments? why or why not? I try to! People say such nice things so I always try to respond but sometimes I get behind and I miss a few
have you ever had a fic stolen? not that i'm aware of
have you ever cowritten a fic before? i haven't! but i'm working on a couple things with @actuallyitsellie right now!!
what’s your all-time favorite ship? I don't think I have a die hard all time favorite ship? I kind of jump around from thing to thing as the hyper fixations change- right now it's definitely Bucktommy, the fics that have definitely left me questioning my existience the most have been Bagginshield fics
what are your writing strengths? i think i'm good at characterization and getting the character's voices down? I'm also really good at background details because everything i write has pages and pages of notes or world building that goes into it (i LOVE worldbuilding, it's seriously one of my absolute favorite things to do)
what are your writing weaknesses? I am CONSTANTLY rewriting my book, which is why my AO3 fics always have mistakes in them because i'll finish them, read through them and then post them at midnight before the carriage turns back into a pumpkin and the rewriting demon gets me. Sometimes I don't like the pacing and I'm like... did I read that too fast or did it just not work as well as I thought it would
first fandom you wrote for? Ninja Turtles when I was like nine before I even knew what fanfiction was (i didn't discover fanfiction was a thing until I was 12)
i have been totally out of it all week but i don't think i saw @reformedplayerbibuck ? (no pressure! i think i've seen everyone else i would also tag hah)

fic writer tag game
I got tagged by @mirkwood-hr-department for this game several days ago and at long last I have time to sit down and do it, so --
How many works do you have on Ao3?
Sixty as of Halloween night!
What's your total Ao3 word count?
1,958,061. And we're not even halfway through Kairos. Yikes.
What fandoms do you write for?
The Tolkienverse (namely the Hobbit) and My Hero Academia.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
i ain't changed, but i know i ain't the same -- bnha erasermic hanahaki fic
seeking a friend for the end of the world -- barduil zombie apocalypse au
Kairos -- barduil SLOW burn historical haunted house romance set in 1977
Show Me My Silver Lining -- bagginshield band AU (my first grown-up fanfiction)
more than words can wield the matter -- after the Elves return to their forest at the conclusion of the Battle of the Five Armies, a certain elf starts writing Bard some very questionable letters
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I usually don't respond to them in thread, but I thank everyone for them in the author's note of the next chapter, and I respond to specific questions there or on Tumblr!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Undoubtedly i'll follow you into the dark. For now.
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Show Me My Silver Lining. For now.
Do you get hate on fics?
I used to get it, back when I was writing on fanfic.net. I get the odd inexplicable comment these days, but so far I've been lucky on Ao3.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I write smut. I think. Mostly it's the nonexplicit variety, but I recently started using the three Cs when needed, so maybe it's explicit now?
Do you write crossovers?
I do not! The closest I've ever come to a crossover is naming all the non-canon background OCs in my BNHA fics after characters from a certain other manga. Nobody's guessed what it is yet.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No to that as well!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! My collaborators include incredible writers like @lonelyheartsmotel, @dogblessyoutascha, and @corndog-patrol!
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Barduil, no contest. The sheer number of words I've put into that pairing is unreal. The fact that I even have another ship is thanks to the sheer power of @corndog-patrol and e-girl!Mic.
What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I intend to finish them all, and am trying to finish at least two this week. But as for unpublished stuff, probably the barduil 'a quiet place' AU. I didn't make it too far, and I definitely lost motivation.
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty solid at writing plot. Nothing makes me happier than leaving foreshadowing lying around and seeing if readers catch it.
What are your writing weaknesses?
As evidenced by my Ao3 word count, I'm not very concise.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't think I've ever tried it. I usually indicate dialogue that's supposed to be in another language with italics.
First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel. On fanfic.net. Dark times.
Favorite fic you've written?
Mm, I think Kairos is still my crowning achievement. But I have to say that I'm really proud of Love Like Ghosts, the first fic I ever wrote entirely in the Notes app on my phone and the first fic where I avoided ever using the main character's name.
I'll go ahead and tag @dogblessyoutascha @phantombstone @sophsiaaa and @melkors-defense-attorney!
