Biting cold wind whipped your hair across your face. You begrudgingly removed one of your hands from the pocket of your sweatshirt to tuck the loose strands behind your ear.

“Why are we here again?” you asked, looking over at Kylo.

The beer bottle paused at his lips as he cracked a one-sided smile, and he took a sip before speaking. “Because that’s what friends do. Friends go to each other’s parties.”

You groaned overdramatically. “Hux isn’t my friend, though.”

Kylo rolled his eyes. “No. But I’m his friend, and you’re my friend, so -”

“Oh, please,” you interrupted sarcastically. “You’re just here for the free beer.”

Kylo cracked a full smile now, shrugging his shoulders playfully before finishing his drink. “I like a good bonfire, though. You can’t tell me you’re not enjoying it a little bit.”

You turned to face away from Kylo to stare at the fire burning out in the field, an amorphous orange being in the otherwise pitch-blackness. The setting wasn’t awful. You quite enjoyed Hux’s property, out in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of town. It was quiet. It wouldn’t be half bad if it weren’t for the other party guests you had to endure, loud and raucous and drunk. They didn’t exactly help with the mood.

“It’s alright.”

“I’m sorry for dragging you out here,” Kylo said. “I just didn’t want to come alone.”

You looked over at Kylo trying to examine the expression on his face. He was hard to read with the way the light from the fire was flickering across it, the shadows playing in the deep angles of his features.

“Don’t ever apologize for hanging out with me, okay?” You reached out to out a hand on his arm and patted it. “I’ll enjoy it soon enough. I just need to warm up a bit.”

It was just a small comment, but Kylo perked up. Now was his chance. He kicked himself for not having thought of it earlier.

“I’ll keep you warm,” he said.

You looked over to see Kylo unzipping his jacket and immediately reacted, waving a hand dismissively. “Oh, no. Don’t do that.” You started walking closer to the fire. “We can just get closer. Keep your jacket. You’ll freeze.”

“Who said anything about giving you my jacket?”

Your heart sank. How could you be so presumptuous? You didn’t dare turn around; you were sure you were blushing.

Before you could reprimand yourself any further, a warm presence was against your back and around your shoulders, much heavier than you’d expected his leather jacket to be.

There was a pressure against the side of your head and then breath against your ear. “This okay?”

You looked down. Kylo’s large arms were wrapped around your body along with his jacket, which he was still wearing. You were nestled tightly against his chest and you could feel the warmth coming off him from behind his thin shirt.

You nodded sheepishly and subtly pressed back against him.

He lowered his head and rested his chin on your shoulder. His soft hair tickled your neck. “Still want to leave?” he asked. There was a sly playfulness to his voice as he lowered it.

You hummed. “I think I’ll stay a little longer.”

Holy shit! TWO THOUSAND FOLLOWERS FOR MY LITTLE SLICE OF PARADISE. I am completely in awe of the fact what started as a little blog for me to post about my obsession with Atton Rand and Quicksilver turned into a long-running fanfic site.

So naturally, I feel this occasion demands I thank a whole lot of the people who got me to this point. I’ll definitely forget some of you, but know that all 2k of you (yes, even you spambots) have continued to inspire me in some of my hardest and also happiest times.

To everyone who came out in support of my boys Peter, Peter, Peter and Peter: namely @shoyzz-art, whose art of my Peter fic I still stare at on a near weekly basis with love and affection. Also @samsationalwilson who fangirled like nobody else. Also, one of my closest friends on this site, @ghistwrite, who is a dependable sweetheart and has been here through the ages. There are many, many more of you: and I still think of you fondly and often.

To everyone who I’ve met through my love and vague obsession with Adam Driver: namely @kylokiwi (who has always been adorable and made me laugh), @a-whole-damn-sackler (who never ceases to have something hilarious to say about my fics, @ravenj84 (whose messages I enjoy all too often because she’s brilliant), @oh-adam (who reblogs all the good shit I need to see on my dash), @jezibelleinhell (who I am totally not surprised to see was my number 1 follower for this month and is basically a god among women), @baensolo (that girl got the thirst to no end and that shit’s inspiring), @bellaren18 (who is simply hilarious and lovable to no end), @mrsmookie (for her devotion to always writing tres flattering comments that make me swoon), @kirah34 (who celebrates a good and pure holy trinity and has consistently made me smile), @hplotrfan (you really are fangirling to the max and I looove it), @badbitsh13 (who is fluently pro-Adam and I love entirely), @kjyrose (who is SUCH a sweetheart) and @just-another-starwars-fangirl (who appreciates my gifs when none of you fuckers did!)

To the writers that have constantly inspired me on this journey and have caused me to refine my own skill: namely @rosalynbair, who is honestly one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Similarly, @aclamclriver writes such poetic and beautiful stuff that my heart swells just reading it. @kylo-renne also deserves a mention in this department for her shameless, filthy Clyde Logan headcannons that have kept me awake many a night staring at the woodgrain in my ceiling and wondering: how did I manage to fall in love with a redneck ex-con? And also @dreamboatdriver - jesus christ, those Flip ficks got me hot under the collar. There are definitely a HUGE number more of you - but these are the ones who have skimmed my brain.

And last, but by no means least: my favourite RP blogs. @rustynaillogan, your poetry has captivated me heart and soul. Your tiki lights make my whole body ache. To @askpaterson, who I’ve only vaguely interacted with but has continued to be such a gorgeous man in all he does. To @asksackler: who is a shameless pervert and a huge flirt, but has won my heart  sometimes enthusiastically made me blush. And finally, to both of my boys: @iamsupremeleader and @thisisgeneralhux. Despite the fact you live the majority of the time in my brain, you irk me to no end. But I love you anyway.

We did it. I did it. Someone did it.

And to everyone I haven’t listed here: you are gorgeous, wonderful, powerful, inspiring humans. You have made my art worth writing. This blog would not survive without your love and support, and I am humbled to say my experience here has not once been negative. Bless you all.

Oh boy do I! @themandalorianwolf has some of my favourite metas across all of star wars! Same goes for @lj-writes @jewishcomeradebot and @diversehighfantasy. There’s also @thelastjedicritical, @baensolo @vaderey @reylo-more-like-reyno and @reynobae.

Hey bean ;; could I request some Clyde x medic!reader headcanons? I'm dying for the cinnamonroll ;;

okay so hopefully you don’t mind if this is more on the nursing side, just cause that’s what im studying so im more familiar with it

The first time you met Clyde was under pretty tragic circumstances, he was your patient and he had just lost his left hand. He tended to push other health care professionals away, he didn’t like getting asked so many questions and he didn’t like others seeing him in such a vulnerable state. 

But you reminded him of home, you had the same accent that he did and your voice was as sweet as molasses. Granted, the pain killers kept him pretty subdued at first but he was starting to get weaned off of them. He didn’t want to anyone to see him breaking down, he was supposed to go home a hero - now he was returning home as unlucky as his family before him.

Clyde thinks that you’re an angel at first, probably because of the painkillers. He even asks you “Are you an angel?” though he doesn’t remember it in his delirium. You thought he was sweet, this was difficult work and your job was to make him feel as comfortable as possible in such a fragile state. 

He’ll always remember you, you’re the one who chased the nightmares away. Even now he still dreams of you sometimes. 

He wishes that he could’ve thanked you, but he doesn’t get the chance to before he was shipped home. 

The second time you meet him is in prison, when you’re checking his medical records. He was surprised to see you there, you explained that you missed home and this was the best job you could get. He’s just happy to see you, even if he’s embarrassed of the circumstance. 

Clyde doesn’t go to the doctors very often, so it meant lots of visits with you to update his vaccinations. You didn’t mind, you were worried about him in this place. He seemed too sweet for a place like this. 

You’re the only person he really feels comfortable not having his prosthetic on around, you’ve already seen the worst of it and he trusts you. He knows that you see him as a person before his injury, he can feel it in the way you talk to him

You’re one of the people that receives an anonymous package in the mail, filled with cash. You don’t know who it’s from, but you feel blessed. Clyde feels like its the least he could do for you

Before he gets out of prison he makes sure to visit you, just for a final checkup. He touches your arm before he goes,”I’d really like to see you outside of this place darlin” He knows it’s probably too bold, that it crosses a line. He’s hurt when you reject him, you have to or you’ll get fired.

Still, you know where he works. When Clyde sees you walk into Duck Tape, out of your scrubs and all dressed up his heart races. He walks over to you to greet you, embracing you in the hug that he’s always longed to give. 

Clyde getting confused when you talk about work, using as he calls “fancy doctor words” so you sit him down and explain it to him in simpler terms. 

Playing ‘nurse’ at home when he gets sick, doing everything you can to alleviate his symptoms. It’s when he reaches a fever of 102ª that he confesses, “I love you angel.”
