Tyrell Badd Story Idea:

Ok one thing I'm thinking about exploring with Badd Because I'm a trashy human being with a thirst for angst of any kind is that he always falls for noble people who then unexpectedly die, as most noble spirits do.

First it was Greg because at that time Byrne was busy making Kay with Cyerra (Kay mom OC) .

I imagine they had the same, if a bit quicker, arc as Miles and Lang.

Badd, thanks to his work with Manfred, probably viewed Defense Attorneys as either a cowardly bunch that got easily intimidated by Von Karma's commanding presence, or a sneaky buch of snakes that aren't afraid to fabricate evidence to get the result they want. Perhaps a mix of both.

Then he finally meets Greg who is neither of those things, and believes in finding the truth regardless of what it may be.

So through the year (or years I'm nor sure anymore) they work together Badd falls, and he falls hard, attracted by Greg's indomitable spirit and great courage.

Eventually they manage to get a penalty on the great Manfred Von Karma, an occasion so monumental they decide to celebrate it in a restaurant where Tyrell is finally gonna confess his feelings.

But then the lights went out, and Greg is found dead.

It isn't until years later he finds himself falling for his best friend.

After the death/abandonment/coma (choose one) of Kay's mother they basically raise the girl themselves. During that time they've helped each other through many hard situations, experienced Kay's most important moments together, and essentially became a little family.

It's when Kay calls him "papa" instead of "uncle", when he decides that yes, he wants this. Wants to be part of this family as something else than an "uncle".

But he was scared, you see?

Scared that it's gonna happen again.

So he waits.

Waits until Kay is ten years old and they're about to solve another case to try and confess his feelings.

But then there's a bang, and Byrne is found dead just like Gregory.

He's so out of it he can't see what's right in front of him. All the evidence flies right over his head, and worse yet, Manfred makes him watch over his two brats.

He doesn't acknowledge Miles as an Edgeworth because it's easier that way, less painful.

He worries about Kay, about the case, about the rookie detective Byrne was just yelling at him how is he dead?

He looks calm but deep down everything is falling apart.

Manfred's brat solves the case and for a second he sees Gregory.

He calls him "Mr. Edgeworth" and the ghost smiles and disappears.

The next time Yew shows up in his life is when he got to see his two best friends together again.

They took her down, demasked her once more, this time for good.

A weight is lifted from his chest and he can breathe again.

Then they smile at him, using their children's faces, and he feels at peace for the first time in decades.
