Dior Lip Oil Thoughts

Okay, I bought the lip Dior lip glow cherry lip oil in Pink a few weeks ago. I am sometimes (correction: always) easily influenced by beauty trends on tik tok, and I have officially finished the little vial.

Pros: it is very moisturizing! My lips felt smoother and well nourished while using. The doe foot applicator is oversized and well flocked so application felt very smooth. I also felt so fancy whipping this out to use! A little silly, but the psychological gratification is there if you are a person who enjoys luxury brands.

Neutral: it is not a oil, but also not a lip gloss as I hear so often claimed. It feels like a plush gel texture on the lips with an oily slip leftover on the lips after it wore off. On days my lips were cracked and chapped I loved the feel, but days they were more normal, I didn’t like or hate the texture. It is a typical level of shine or juicy appearance on the lips, nothing specials the tint is barely noticeable on bare lips, especially if your lips are more on the pigmented side. Like a whisper of color is what it translates as.

Cons: I hate to say this but OMG THE SMELLL!!!! It was horrendous! Now the lip oil is advertised as having cherry oil in the formulation, and it’s supposed to aid with hydration, conditioning, etc of your lips. I could not smell any actual real cherry scent at any point. When I first bought it I got a light whiff of a synthetic cherry which I didn’t mind as I loved lip smackers as a little girl. But as the days rolled on and I kept applying I noticed like a sickly sweet rotten odor always around me, that honestly made me feel sick to my stomach at times 🤢

I cleaned and zero odor sprayed everything within a couple of feet of me, to no avail! The rotten sweet smell kept taunting me! I could not figure out what the culprit was until my lovely wife leaned in to kiss me a few days in and said “oh you’re wearing that Dior aren’t you?” And I answered yes and asked why and she said “that stuff smells” before opting to kiss my cheek instead. Understandably devastated I grabbed my vial and took a deep whiff sniff test and just smelled the synthetic cherry again, but then lurking underneath was the sickly sweet rotten smell I had been plagued by! So I am assuming after opening the smell broke down after being exposed to air and my lips as I used it. Bad smells are a major deal breaker for me.

Verdict: I would not ever repurchase this. It’s nothing really special anyhow, and the gross smell did me in. Luckily I didn’t not spend all of my own money, on the lip oil, thanks to cashing in my Ulta points. I would have been way more angry had I shelled out $40 out of my own dollars completely.

• not one to mask much and is often very blunt, has been told he's rude way too many times but he doesn't really care tbh, he's just being honest

• has a VERY hard time expressing his emotions, either turns it into anger and lashes out or just goes nonverbal

• doesn't like to be alone with his thoughts so he finds lots of ways to distract himself (though he has bad coping methods and often turns to addictive pastimes like gambling and drinking)

• stims: a lot of hand stims including flapping, rubbing under his nose, that lil mini naruto run he does, putting his hands in his pockets to secretly play with whatever garbage is in there, & fidgeting with his hoodie strings. also randomly dabbing (projecting bc i do this too lmao) and VOCAL STIMS!! echolalia, palilalia, random sounds, etc. he's very vocal when he's happy!!

• special interests: horses, whatever manga/anime he's into atm. he infodumps sometimes even though nobody really wants to listen to him, he just talks at them, also bc he's not into the same manga/anime as choromatsu so there's a lack of common interest

💙KARAMATSU:

• a lot of masking but he's not very good at it tbh

• has a good amount of scripts but fumbles through them or goes nonverbal before even approaching someone and ends up missing out on a potential conversation

• socially anxious but tries desperately to pretend he's not ✨

• wears sunglasses to avoid eye contact and also bc he doesn't want people reading him too deeply, he's sensitive so his emotions are often on full display even when he tries to hide them

• PEOPLE PLEASER, will definitely mold his personality/manner of speech to match the person he's with

• stims: putting on and taking off his sunglasses, he also likes sequined clothing bc he likes to run his fingers and nails along them

• special interests: fashion & making clothes, music

💚CHOROMATSU:

• takes his diagnosis/discovery hard at first, doesn't like having something "wrong" with him

• he feels better about it once he realizes "oh THAT'S why i do that/feel that way" and can learn better ways to cope and accommodate (for both himself and his brothers)

• likes to be prepared and has a LOT of scripts but often stutters through them

• socially anxious and gets stressed easily

• often indulges in escapism as a coping method, with a hyperfocus on idols and anime

• probably has like a repertoire of safe foods bc textures 🤢

• stims: FLAPPY HANDS, a lot of hand fidgets like playing with his zipper/hoodie strings when nervous, dermatillomania, also vocal stims like humming & echolalia, and wiggling/rocking

• special interests: nyaa-chan, idols in general, whatever anime/manga he's into, technology, space

💜ICHIMATSU:

• has hardcore social burnout as well as mask burnout from doing it so damn much in high school

• semi-verbal like 80% of the time, goes nonverbal a lot

• monotone speech (i mean that's not a hc but it's worth noting)

• only really talks a lot when he's infodumping or has either a physically written or mentally planned script he can follow

• another socially anxious brother, doesn't really focus on making scripts bc he's not one to approach people so the conversations he does have are often awkward

• cares a LOT about how other people perceive him even though he doesn't show it

• also another brother who has a hard time expressing emotions, he often bottles things up until he hits a breaking point

• gets overwhelmed very easily by crowds and confrontation or meeting new people

• VERY METICULOUS about cleanliness, rules, and manners

• stims: PRESSURE, holding or petting soft things like cats and plushies, kneading, rocking

💛JYUSHIMATSU:

• probably the first one to find out or be diagnosed tbh

• has trouble with social cues and norms, is very much one to just do and say what he likes without much care for what others think (mostly; he's been shown to be much more aware than he seems)

• prone to meltdowns and often takes a while to calm down and recover

• doesn't use scripts much either, just talks about whatever, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

• used to mask in high school but stopped, his happy face might be a mask too but he seems a lot more comfortable like that so maybe not

• stims: omg SO many happy stims, flappy hands (loves long sleeves bc he likes how they feel when he flaps), waving his baseball bat around, rocking, and VOCAL STIMS!! another very vocal brother, echolalia, palilalia and random sounds just like his big bro :) they get a bit noisy when they're both like this together and are often told by choro, ichi, or totty to go somewhere else

• special interests: BASEBALL, dogs

💗TODOMATSU:

• his tiktok fyp gradually filled up with enough "relatable" #neurodivergent #autism videos that he was like "huh okay maybe i should actually look into this"

• not at first, though: like choro, the discovery is also hard on him and he avoids coming to terms with it for a while before finally giving in and going on an online research binge

• he has a LOT of scripts, both for irl and texting

• his texting often comes off as "dry" bc he's really not good at going off-script and holds himself back from infodumping bc he doesn't want to be overwhelming. he can hold a conversation decently but secretly hates small talk, although he's not very good at furthering a conversation past that if he doesn't know what the other person is interested in

• MASKINGMASKINGMASKING

• he masks SO MUCH OH MY GOD even with his brothers he's gonna burn himself out so bad 💔

• he's also very much another one to mold his personality and speech to match the person he's talking to

• stims: fidgeting with his phone, his phone is a crutch and he feels very anxious when he doesn't have it with him, he likes phone charms bc extra thing to fidget with ❤️, also randomly does peace signs (projecting again with literally all of these but ✨)

last book I enjoyed reading: The Charm Offensive is good! And I loved the audiobook performance.

last book you hated reading: HAHA! THis is I why I requested a tag for this game! A while ago I read 60% (11hrs and 12 mins or so of the audiobook) of a book called All Clear, which is a scifi novel about researchers time travelling to WWII era Britain. Which is theoretically fine but I just hated reading such a sympathetic take on the British empire in a fucking scifi novel! Scifi is not for sympathetic takes on empires even if it's also got nazi-hating in it. Gah! Absolutely not my cup of tea. Throw it in the harbor. (to be fair, there may be more nuance about all that in the second half or the second book of the duology but I was absolutely not going to dedicate like 30 more hours of my time to finding out.)

favorite thing to cook/bake: To cook: breakfast (I get realllllly into it) to bake: pie!

favorite craft to do in your free time: I echo the tragic "what free time?" motif of these tag games... but I do love crafts. I sew when I can, paint occasionally, have been known to do the odd tie-die project as well as a good ole stoner craft party with my college bestie in which we lovingly sew patches to our patch jackets and bedazzle random household items.

most niche dislikes: I don't really like chocolate. Or meat-- the texture of cooked meat is just disgusting to me (I've been almost entirely vegetarian since I was three or four and full veggie since ten)

opinion on circuses: found family of weird people vibe: immaculate. Animal cruelty vibe: 🤢 so it entirely depends on if the circus mistreats animals I guess

do you have a sense of direction and if not what's the worst way you've gotten lost?: I have a very bad instinctual sense of direction but am very good at reading maps, which has made for some strange combos of confidently leading a party in the wrong direction before soon discovering my idiot mistake and losing all trust of the party 😂 No really bad getting-lost stories have been my fault alone though. My family did almost get stranded overnight on a mountain in Mexico when I was twelve. But I was twelve so it was not me getting us lost.

spooky this is an odd question but I'm in dire need of help, basically I'm autistic and my sensory issues are really bad to the point where I'm running out of foods I like, do you have any simple food recommendations?

That's a hard one bc I don't need simple. I just don't like the texture of too "soft". I gag with yogurt. The texture is unbearable ESPECIALLY greek yogurt 🤮🤢 it has to have something crunchy in it to take away that slimy, goopy sensation going to the back of my mouth. I don't even like pudding for the same texture reason. Applesauce too. Peanut butter and stuff like that I'm okay with bc it doesn't 'slide' down my throat the same way pudding or yogurt does. Jello is on thin ice...I'll eat it but it's not my favorite. I'm gonna die if I ever have to eat this stuff bc of age or and injury. I will GLADLY be on a liquid diet first...I don't even like creamy liquor like mudslides bc that thick liquid texture imitates the same yogurt texture too much for me.

I have comfort meals I obsess over for a month or so and then move onto another one.

Tuna salad (Mayo, tuna, sweet relish. That's it.)

Chilli Mac (It's mac n cheese with bbq meat in it basically with more cheese on top.)

Butter noodles (Spaghetti with butter, parsley and parmesan cheese)

French Fries

Peanut butter and whip cream mixed together for a sweet fluffy frosting thing if I don't feel like eating too much in the morning but need the protein with my coffee

Frozen grapes rolled with jello mix (Before freezing them: Rinse them, toss them in jello powder of any flavor and freeze them for an hour.)

Sushi bowl (Sushi rice or just white rice, a spoonful of cream cheese, crushed up seaweed (I opt it out all the time), crab or tuna and I drizzle sweet and sour sauce over it)

Tomato slices baked with balsamic vinegar

Cucumbers with salt and vinegar

Crackers...I'm dead serious butter flavored crackers (Like the golden rounds) are my go to depression meal with sprite to drink..When I'm sick? Crackers. Not feeling up to anything? Crackers. Snack? Crackers. I will pick those over chips.

As for simple as in bland, I love seasoning so I can't help you there. My issue is texture only. And Billy's neurodivergent ass is probably picky too he just won't admit it
