Summary: Liam has homework to do, Theo loves to pester him about the Christmas tree and Corey is about to have a breakdown.

"Liam?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you want this at the top or bottom?"

"What?"

Theo rolled his eyes and dropped the hand holding up the decoration. "Would you get in here so you can actually see?"

"I'm busy!"

"Not if I have anything to say about it." Theo muttered, slinking silently from the living room into the bedroom where his wolf was frantically trying to complete his English paper before his lesson on Monday. It was testament to how deep in his head he was that Liam didn't hear Theo even when he was right behind him, leaning over his shoulder to see how much more he had left to write.

"Come on sweetheart-" Theo ignored the jolt Liam gave that almost took out a row of his teeth -"the Christmas tree needs your artistic eye."

"Theo I told you, I'm busy. I have to get this paper done by tomorrow or I'll never get it done in time and I can't afford anymore extensions in school, Mrs Martin has already-"

"Done barely enough considering what you've gone through. I'm sure she'd be understanding considering the circumstances."

Liam turned his head back and looked at Theo incredulously. "What circumstances?"

"Spending our first Christmas together!"

"Theo, I can't-"

"You're too stressed, you're not thinking clearly. Come on, come and relax with me wolfie." Ending the conversation Theo plucked Liam from his chair and threw the lithe body over his shoulder, ignoring the shriek of indignation and claws digging into his back.

"Foreplay later Liam, we need to finish the tree first."

Setting the beta down on his feet in the living room Theo spun him round to see the excellent work he had already produced. Liam had to nod begrudgingly. Theo had done a good job with the tree, it was just the ornaments left to go on.

"You start the decorations, I'll get us something to drink." Theo pressed a kiss to Liam's lips and left to the kitchen, crashing around until he found their hot chocolate mix.

After making sure to add additional marshmallows, Theo set them down on the coffee table and wrapped his arms around his boy who had mainly finished the tree and was typing something on his phone.

"What's going on Li?"

"It's Mason, wants to know if he can come round later to see us before him and Corey leave for their holiday."

Theo tucked his head into the scruff of hair at Liam's nape and inhaled deeply, barely suppressing a moan at the unfiltered scent.

"Why not? Tell him to bring Corey too."

Liam nodded and went about replying, quite happy to let Theo do his strange nuzzling as long as he didn't try to bite his neck again. There had been severe consequences for that.

Liam's phone buzzed again. "Mason said they're with Brett and he wants to come round as well."

"If he wants to keep all his limbs attached to his body I think he'd better give it a miss."

"It's probably only for the essay, Brett got set the same one."

"Well that doesn't matter because you're done with the essay for today, aren't you? The tree looks great so why don't you go lay on the sofa while we wait and we'll put a movie on."

"Theo I just have one more paragraph to do and then I'll be done." Liam turned to face the chimera with his best puppy eyes.

For a minute or two Theo just stared at Liam, eyes moving lazily over his face as if cataloguing every minute change, picking up on the shift between begging to frustration to anger to resignation to a sliver of fear.

Theo smiled.

"Of course little wolf, what a good idea." Giving the werewolf a squeeze to his hips Theo let him go and stepped back, tilting his head to the side as he watched Liam's thick brows pinch in confusion when he couldn't get more than a few steps forward. "If you can get there."

Looking at the floor Liam then noticed the almost miniscule line of black powder in a circle in front of him.

"Mountain ash?"

"Told you you were smart. You didn't think I actually believed you when you said it was only a paragraph, did you?"

"When did you even have time to do this?"

"Earlier, before I came to get you. I knew you wouldn't be persuaded to stop for a Christmas tree so I had to take matters into my own hands. Isn't it a good job I did? Trying to leave me on my own."

Liam's eyes flashed as he tried to take a breath and calm down, fists balling and quickly reddening from the claws buried in his skin.

"Sit down Li, I'll find a movie."

It was dangerous for Theo to turn his back on the wolf but with the mountain ash he knew Liam couldn't go anywhere. Mason arrived shortly with Corey in tow who stared in awe at the Christmas tree lighting the corner of the room. Admittedly the growling werewolf sat rigidly on the couch did dim the atmosphere slightly but when they'd all sat and got stuck into Home Alone he perked up considerably.

Theo got up to get some more snacks from the kitchen and turned around to see his chameleon stood sheepishly in the doorway.

"You okay?"

"Yeah I just um, I wanted to run something by you and Mason convinced me to do it before we leave for our trip so I won't be thinking about it the whole time."

Theo turned to face him fully. "What's up?"

Corey let the door shut behind him as he moved fully into the kitchen to stand opposite Theo. "I've been having some issues with controlling my power."

Theo nodded but stayed silent, waiting for Corey to elaborate.

"I can't seem to change on command anymore and other times I don't even think about changing and then Mason's looking for me when I'm stood right behind him."

"And you're coming to me for advice?"

Corey shrugged and looked at the floor bashfully. "I just figured since you, kind of-"

"Made you into this?"

"That you might know what's going on with me."

Blowing out a breath Theo picked up a bag of crisps before turning back to his beta, placing a hand on his shoulder. "If I'm being honest, I'm not sure. The dread doctors didn't exactly give me the full run down of each species they were creating or the side effects. But, I'll do some looking and see what I can find, I'd imagine it has something to do with your anchor."

"But Mason-"

"Can still be the best thing that happened to you and yet your anchor might change anyway." Theo curled his hand around Corey's nape. "We just need to find out what it is."

Eventually Corey nodded in agreement and the two left the kitchen with snacks in hand. Mason immediately opened his arms for Corey to sink into, a weight visibly lifted from his shoulders while Theo pressed into Liam's side dotting kisses across the side of his face.

Liam's phone buzzed with an incoming text.

Brett: Hey man! Don't worry about your paper on Monday, I'll finish it for you since I'm not doing anything.

Liam lolled his head to the side to look at Theo from the corner of his eye. "What did you do?"

Theo shook his head in innocence. "I don't know what you mean, Li. Maybe Brett has started a new chapter in his life where he isn't a total fuckwit."

"You really expect me to believe that?" Liam jerked up when Theo kissed the pout from his lips.

"No, we both know a tiger can't change it's stripes."

"I meant you, idiot. You really think I believe you had nothing to do with this when you trapped me in the living room with mountain ash and made a rose from the tongues of inmates at Eichen House?"

The chimera stared silently before a smile cracked his lips, leaning in so only Liam could hear him whisper, "and there's more where that came from."

The brush of a tongue against his ear sent a current of fear down the wolf's spine.

A tiger can't change it's stripes.

Madhouse - TR + LD

Summary: Eichen House is home to some of the most disturbing people (and creatures) in history. One of these creatures is Theo Raeken, who happens to be completely besotted with the beta of the Alpha he tried to kill that got him here in the first place. Who said romance is dead?

“I got you a present.” Theo thrust his hand through the metal bars to Liam, staring relentlessly at him until the beta took his gift.

“Oh you shouldn’t have,” he said uncertainly, plucking the flower from his long fingers and taking a cautionary step back.

“It’s a rose.” Theo explained when the beta was silent for too long. “Means ‘love at first sight’.”

“Is it made out of tongues?”

“Only the necessary ones.”

“You sure this is a good idea?”

“Absolutely not, but it’s the only one we’ve got.”

Liam, Mason and Corey stalked their way through the corridors of Eichen house, adrenaline streaming through their veins and voices in their heads screaming that this was a bad idea. Horrible, really.

“We could always try and come up with a new one, we need to slow down a bit.” Corey suggested, but Liam kept walking ahead.

“There’s no time!”

“Dunbar!” The other inmates knew him by now. With how much the chimera swooned over him daily it was harder not to.

“Piss off Smiggs.”

“Ooh the human becomes the werewolf, how sweet!”

“What the fuck is he talking about?” Mason whispered.

“Not a clue just keep walking.”

Mason was so worried about keeping his eyes on the nutcase that he walked straight into Liam’s back.

“Oh Raeken! Your new beau is here!” Smiggs singsonged as the trio powerwalked down the corridor a few more steps before reaching his cage.

“One more word and I’ll rip your tongue out.” The voice in the dark promised. Liam knew it was Theo, he only spoke in that tone when he was displeased (which was practically all the time), but never to him in such a way.

Liam looked over cautiously to hear that Smiggs was now silent as the dead, an unnerving realistion washing over him that perhaps Theo’s threat was not an empty one.

“Come closer little wolf, you know you’re safe with me.” The Chimera cooed, now right up against the bars as close as was physically possible. “Come here baby.”

Liam took a step forward but halted at Corey’s hand on his shoulder. With his head turned to look at the chameleon, he missed the immediate darkening of Theo’s expression; brows drawing together from where they were once soft and unblinking yellow eyes daring both Corey and Mason to keep his wolf away from him again.

Even though Theo tolerated the two moreso than any other pack member Liam had with him, it was only because they had a lingering scent of the beta on them where they were together all day. Of course he would rather have the little wolf alone and all to himself, but apparently he’s been deemed ‘a flight risk’ and ‘extremely dangerous, any visitors must proceed with caution’.

“You can’t go past the line.” Corey whispered, gesturing to a red line of tap stuck on the floor that deemed a ‘safe distance’.

“I’ll be fine, Corey.” He turned to face Theo again when Mason stopped him this time.

“Not all the way Liam.”

The wolf nodded at his friend in reassurance and took one step over the line, clenching his hands into fists to try and seem as if he was keeping it together.

“Theo.”

When the afore mentioned smiled and tilted his head, his fangs appeared just a bit too sharp, eyes too focused. It was disconcerting.

“Hi little beta. Lacrosse is treating you well, filling out more and more every time you come for me.” Theo smirked, knowing exactly how he sounded and loving the effect it had on his wolf; the shiver and eyes on everything but him.

“We came here,” Liam ignored Theo’s implication, “to ask you about something we think you have some information about-”

“You came to ask me.”

Liam huffed through his nose and composed himself, shifting around on his feet. “You know about the wild hunt?”

“Mmm, the demise of Beacon Hills. Yet for some reason, they left Smiggs.”

“That’s called karma.” Mason spoke for the first time.

Theo didn’t bat an eye.

“What do you wanna know baby? I’ll tell you anything.”

“We want to know what’s bringing them here. The ghost riders.”

“Come closer and I’ll tell you.”

Liam was about two steps away from the bars that Theo was leant up against. He was so desperate to prove himself to Scott that he could help he almost stepped forward without a second thought. He just needed to-

“No.”

“Huh?” Liam blinked.

“He’s not going any further.”

Corey tried puffing out his chest and standing his ground, arm poised to reach out and snag Liam back by his shirt.

“I don’t think that’s your decision to make, oh beta of mine.” Theo jested. Corey visibly flinched as he recalled that it was in fact Theo who made him what he was.

“Let’s just go, this was a mistake. We can make a different plan and come back tomorrow if we need to Liam.”

“Fine.”

Mason startled a little at Liam’s immediate agreement and raised an eyebrow in suspicion. Usually there would be at least five counter-arguements, two flashes of his eyes and a threat of mauling. But today he simply conceded and started leading them out, back the way they came.

Mason looked over his shoulder as he rounded the final corner that took him out of sight and saw Theo still up against the bars, waving at him with a smile.

On second thought, not coming back tomorrow. Or ever, preferably.

Stupid humans.

Theo shook his head, grinning ear to ear while he perfected the present he was making for Liam. Since, you know, he was coming back later. On his own. All for Theo.

God, the thought alone made him shiver and growl. He was finally getting his beta alone; truly alone since his stupid human companions couldn’t hear the skip in his heartbeat to tell them he was lying and would in fact be returning to him before tomorrow.

That made him think, whoever was training Corey needed to do a better job. He would happily volunteer but in his current situation, it was kind of hard to.

“Theo.”

He breathed in and rolled the scent of Liam’s anticipation around before exhaling. How sweet, he’s nervous.

“Little Alpha.” The Chimera stood from his bed and walked up to the bars again. Liam shivered at the unfortunate nickname Theo had doned him with, apparently almost killing Scott so that Liam could be on top. Or so he says.

“I got you a present.” Theo thrust his hand through the metal bars to Liam, staring relentlessly at him until the beta took his gift.

“Oh you shouldn’t have,” he said uncertainly, plucking the flower from his long fingers and taking a cautionary step back to the line.

“It’s a rose.” Theo explained when the beta was silent for too long. “Means ‘love at first sight’.”

Liam’s breath hitched when he realised how quiet it was, and now he was holding the reason for it.

“You’re thinking about something.” Theo stated.

“D-did you actually rip out Smiggs’ tongue?”

“Of course not. I talked him into it.” He said like it was something to be proud of, puffing out his chest at showing his ability to provide for the little Alpha. “And since you came back so nicely, I’ll tell you anything you want. Ask away!”

Liam swallowed and took a big breath, placing the flower on the window sill behind him and gathering his courage once again.

“You know about the wild hunt. As in, what’s causing it?”

“You do as well. You’ve seen the reason. In fact, you’ve been around it, all day.”

“Mr Douglas?” Liam confirmed.

“Mmhmm.” Theo agreed, preening at the smart little wolf.

“He’s not just a wolf though. You know what he is.”

Theo lifted his head and sweeped his eyes over the beta, finally settling on his eyes again.

“He’s a Löwenmensch. Which is-”

“Part wolf, part lion.”

“The Dread Doctors took him in. Chained him up and put him in the vat of acid. Only he had a slash mark on his back...”

Liam rushed home after his meeting with Theo, eager to share the news and stop Douglas when his phone rang, Sheriff Stilinski on his caller ID.

“Sheriff what’s wrong?” Liam stopped dead in his tracks at his front door in case he needed to leave again if the Sheriff needed him.

“Liam, where are you right now?”

“I’m just about to go into my house.”

“Get inside and lock all the doors and windows, I’m sending a Deputy to you right now.” He said urgently.

“Sheriff, what’s going on?” The young wolf asked once he had done as asked.

“Theo Raeken somehow just broke out of Eichen House, and considering his attatchment to you, we’ve got a pretty good idea of where he’s headed.”

Liam’s blood went cold. It went even colder when he could hear another heartbeat.

“There you are little one, you forgot your rose.”

Turn them away.
