Qui suis-je ?

Je m’appelle Léa, j’ai 28 ans et je suis maman de 3 filles: Julia qui a 3 ans, Eva et Lena qui ont 11 mois (Oui bientôt 1 an déjà qu’elles ont chamboulé nos vies !).

Depuis quelques mois, je partage un bout de mon quotidien sur Instagram (@leaatwins), et j’ai décidé de me lancer dans un blog, pour continuer à partager ma petite expérience de la maternité et de la parentalité, de mon quotidien de famille nombreuse, mais aussi pour partager des conseils et des activités (que ce soit des activités manuelles, des promenades ou autres..), le tout dans un esprit d’échange et de bienveillance !

J’imagine ce blog comme un carnet de bord ou j’y raconterai mon expérience et mes astuces, mon organisation et mes humeurs.

He saw Renan every day. Normally, the other child was tucked away from the rest of the camp working on something alone. He was told to ignore him the first time he was caught looking at the other. “He has succeeded where you have failed and if you give him a chance he’ll walk right over you,” Elgar’nan had said. But still, Athim found himself looking for the other sometimes. Just wanting to know where he was, to know anything about him.

So he was hardly surprised when he finds himself walking over to and sitting next to Renan as he works on something in his hands. Athim stays silent as he watches Renan’s fingers move and work magic into the object in his hands. The silence isn’t awkward like he was expecting, instead it’s comfortable. Almost familiar in an odd way.

He’s almost mesmerized by Renan working at the puzzle box in his hands, the movements of his small hands and the subtle manipulations of the Fade were impressive. Athim didn’t know someone their age could be this skilled, but, instead of envy, he felt pride. The pride grows the longer he watches, the closer Renan gets to solving the box and it’s a foreign feeling- no one had ever felt pride for him including himself- but it feels right here, in this moment, with just the two of them. He feels compelled to stay, to watch, to give this other child the pride he, himself, has been so denied, despite knowing Renan is not half so staved of it.

There’s a click and the box opens and, before he knows it, Athim’s cheering and clapping. Only then does he look into the other child’s face, gold eyes peering out from his dark complexion and the realization that maybe Renan doesn’t want him here. Everyone else hated him, Elgar’nan had all but forbidden anyone from caring for him. What if Renan wasn’t immune? What if sitting and watching had been annoying to him?

The panic’s mounting in his chest and he doesn’t think before blurting “Can I watch you do another?” Can I stay here with you where I’m not lonely? Can I stay in this space that feels safe? Panic still swells in him, too many chances for Renan to turn him away, too many chances for more rejection than he already gets. Too many chances for even watching this other child from afar to be turned bitter and leave him feeling empty. 

But, instead of retreating, he offers one more blow, failing to hide his cringe: “I’m Athim. You can call me whatever, though.”

He holds his breath and waits. He has never seen this other boy talk, never seen him interact at length with anyone else. Maybe he would simply stand and walk away. Maybe he would take everything Athim’s just handed him and throw it right back at him.

The moment extends, and with every second Athim feels his body tensing, nervously scratching at blistering burns on the back of his hand, holding his breath and hoping. What would Renan call him other than his name? He doesn’t know, he has no options, no opinions. He assumes, if anything, he will be called his name but maybe, maybe, since being here feels so right, maybe coming from Renan it wouldn’t sting.

The moment’s passing and Athim feels his shoulders start drooping. Maybe he won’t get another other than the stare he’s being offered now and a punishment for breaking the rules later. Maybe he’ll have to be okay with this, accept this. He’s seen worse looks than this blank one. But this possibility hurts more. Why? Why did the thought of being turned away by him hurt so much?

When the answer comes, it’s soft but so surprising Athim almost jumps. Brother. Said so simply, Athim’s not sure he’s ever heard a word more beautiful than in that moment. So caught up in it he almost misses Renan offering him the small trinket from inside the box, the reward for the puzzle. Some small toy that paled in comparison to the moment.

Athim pockets the toy and offers a smile.

📷 @chantellechamps - possibly my favourite photo of the twins ❤️ they look so angelic, but the truth is, they had both been screaming uncontrollable for ages, they had horrendous colic, reflux 😩 and then they would go to sleep like this and all the stress and anxiety would literally melt away lol!! Heute ist einfach kein guter Tag.

Die dritte Nacht mit nur seeeeehr wenig Schlaf. Ich bin so gereizt. Und dann warst du wieder da: Ein Regenbogen "E". Ich weiß, dass du da warst und mir Kraft geben wolltest den Tag zu überstehen.

Ich bin aber so müde heute. So kraftlos. Deine Schwestern sind heute so anstrengend. Das liegt wohl am Zahnen. Hoffentlich wird es morgen besser.

Aber heute vermisse ich dich unglaublich sehr..

Regrann from @stylishsheba - I call this move the “double baby” which won’t be happening for too much longer as they are each more than four kilos now. On another note according to my hairdresser, apparently I hadn’t had my hair done for 4 months. Newborns do not leave much time for maintenance. Luckily as shown here they are both partial to pulling out fistfuls of my hair anyway so I probably won’t have much left soon enough. Récit de grossesse

Je n’ai que très peu de photo de ma 2eme grossesse. Elle n’a pas été comme je l’avais imaginé..

J’ai eu ma première échographie environ 3 mois après avoir fait mon test de grossesse, et là, surprise ! Il n’y avait pas 1 mais 2 bébés qui s’étaient nichés au creux de moi. Le type de grossesse a été défini à ce moment là ainsi que le type de suivi. Monochoriale biamniotique (autrement dit 1 placenta, 2 poches). Echographie tous les 15 jours, avec des médecins. 

Je suis restée abasourdie par cette nouvelle. Et par le chamboulement que cela allait amener, mais j’étais bien loin de la réalité !

J’ai donc commencé mon suivi régulier. Au bout de quelques semaines, un problème est détecté au niveau d’un cordon ombilical, les échanges se font mal, j’aurais donc des échographies toutes les semaine (jusqu’à la fin pratiquement). A ce moment, je continuais à aller travailler, mais cela ne s’arrangeant pas, décision est prise de me mettre en arrêt de travail à 4 mois et demi de grossesse avec un maximum de repos. Avec Julia qui venait d’avoir 2 ans, le repos était loin d’être total !

Puis à un énième contrôle, le médecin m’annonce que les échanges dans le cordon se font correctement. Je sens un immense soulagement ! Puis il vérifie que mon col n’a pas bougé, et là, c’est la chute libre. Mon col s’est beaucoup trop raccourci par rapport au dernier contrôle, je me retrouve donc en MAP (menace d’accouchement prématuré). Je rentre malgré tout chez moi (après négociations) avec des monitorings à faire à domicile 2 fois par semaine.

15 jours plus tard, nouveau rebondissement, je ne suis plus en MAP, mais une de mes filles manque de liquide amniotique et souffre d’un retard de croissance intra-utérin (RCIU). Cette fois, je n’échappe pas à l’hospitalisation, et ce jusqu’à la fin de ma grossesse. Nous devons donc nous organiser en urgence pour la garde de Julia car chéri continue de travailler..

Je suis donc transférée dans l’unité SIG (surveillance intensive de grossesse) en semi-urgence, je suis alors à 31 SA de grossesse. On m’explique que j’aurais des monitorings 3 fois par jour, avant chaque repas pour me laisser à jeun, au cas ou il faudrait pratiquer la césarienne. Les monitorings montrent que je contracte régulièrement, mais je ne ressens pas les contractions.

Mon mari et ma famille amènent Julia tous les jours pour que l’on puisse se voir, et chaque séparation est un déchirement. Nous qui n’avons jamais été séparées, ça a été très difficile à vivre pour nous deux.

A une échographie de contrôle, une de mes filles n’a plus du tout de liquide dans sa poche, et la 2eme commence également à en perdre. Quelques jours après, on m’annonce que la césarienne sera pratiquée dans la journée. C’est un lundi, je suis à 33+5 SA. J’appelle chéri, qui me rejoint aussitôt.

Je me prépare pour le bloc, et commence l’attente dans la chambre.
