Soy uno de los primeros partidarios en que no se debe comprar un whiskey (o cualquier otro destilado) simplemente por la botella, aunque en este caso lo hice. En efecto, lo hice dos veces con la misma botella, pero compré esta y el Rye Whiskey también. La verdad es que lo volvería a hacer, pues este @hudsonwhiskey me ha demostrado bastante por lo singular que es. . Por un lado porque es hecho en el estado de Nueva York, que no suele ser el lugar más típico para la creación de un whiskey. Adicionalmente, está el hecho que es doble destilado y añejado durante 90 días en barricas de 12 litros, cuando lo normal son barricas de unos 200 litros. Esto le da un carácter ya diferente de por sí porque hay un mayor contacto entre el líquido y la barrica y le da un perfil de sabores fuerte de madera. . En nariz se sienten fuertes notas de maíz, vainilla y madera apenas lo sirvo, pero al cabo de unos minutos lo más destacado es maíz y la madera que juega un papel importante en el whiskey, pero también hay notas sobresalientes de pimienta y vainilla. . En boca se siente una nota alcohólica algo agresiva, y a 46% de alcohol no es para menos, sobre todo con esta juventud, pero se desprenden sabores a maíz, roble, vainilla, notas de jengibre fresco y bastante dulce. En el retrogusto se sienten todas esas notas dulces y sus derivados, como caramelo y vainilla, seguidos de un aftertaste de maíz dulce. . Muchas veces es fácil dejarse llevar por la puntuación final que le pueda dar a un tabaco, a veces sin mirar el precio, por ejemplo. Este @kristoff_cigars Kristania es un magnífico ejemplo de un cigarro con una puntuación relativamente baja pero que funciona muy bien para acompañar un destilado como este @hudsonwhiskey Baby Bourbon y no resultar opacado. Como cigarro se consumo regular está muy bien y si es para acompañar un destilados, mejor. . More often than not people will look for the final score of a cigar without looking at other information, such as price. This Kristoff Kristania is a great example of a cigar with a relatively low score but one that works great when paired with Hudson Baby Bourbon and not be smothered by it.
