absolutely ravishing - maiko week ’24 day 3/4
prompts - jealousy / parents
inspired by this tweet by kvohru 'maiko headcanon zuko puts baby izumi's hair into mai's buns anytime he pisses mai as a way of silly apology/getting her to soften up & talk to him WALK WITΗ ΜΕ' in which maiko go to a party and mai feels left out. baby izumi is the cutest. zuko is a good father. amongst other things lol.
It was a lovely, sunny morning, and Mai was pissed off.
Normally, this wouldn’t have been anything out of the ordinary—after all, she was famously ‘angry at the world’, but this was different. Today, Mai was pissed at the Firelord.
Also known as her husband.
He was, admittedly, unsure as to what he’d done to warrant her annoyance today, but he didn’t want to risk upsetting her further by asking. God, no. He’d rather pluck every hair off his body than have Mai think he was an inattentive, dismissive, careless husband who didn’t care about his gorgeous, beautiful wife! He was better than that, thank you very much. So he did the next best thing and tried to rack his brain, thinking over his actions over these past few hours.
Okay, he thought, pulling out a teapot from the cupboard. This mood started at, like, 8 pm last night? He put on some water to boil, falling into that familiar rhythm of making tea.
Because he was the Firelord, he rarely had the chance to do things for himself, and while that was an insane privilege he frankly enjoyed, it was nice to take a break from everything and just be with his family, away from the hubbub of the palace.
Hence this vacation at Ember Island.
The moment he realised he had a few off-days in his calendar, he decided to plan for him and his wife to go on vacation.
He let the teapot boil and started on breakfast. Rice for the rice porridge, what remained of the dumplings and steamed buns they’d bought, and whatever else he could find. Oh, and eggs and chopped fruit for baby Izumi.
He smiled at the thought of their pudgy little 9 month old. She was just starting to speak, though that mostly came in the form of incoherent babbling with the occasional Mama. Yeah, she called them both Mama.
And yes, Zuko was a teensy bit sulky about that, but I digress.
Just as he was about to put his hair up and start on breakfast, he heard that distinct baby voice he was just thinking about. He glanced at the clock— yup, 7.30 a.m., on the dot. Izumi was awake.
Right now, it was usually a race with time. He had a very short window of time before Izumi’s good-tempered giggles would turn into wailing screams, and he was determined not to wake Mai up any earlier than she needed to be.
She was on vacation and she deserved to rest.
Also, she was mad at him. So. He really didn't need to make it worse for himself.
“I’m coming, darling,” he called out in a whisper when he was close enough, crossing the distance in long strides. At the sight of that little girl in her crib, all chubby limbs and big golden eyes, he smiled and reached to grab her. “Hi, baby,” he whispered, nuzzling into that space between her cheek and shoulder and kissing her. “D’you sleep well?”
She made an incoherent baby noise and happily grabbed a strand of his long hair, which was, positively, one of her favourite pastimes, it seemed. He winced, regretting not putting it up earlier. “Let’s get you changed,” he said, trying to untangle her fingers from his hair— that is, trying to undo that vice-like grip babies seemed to have. I mean, at least that meant her fine-motor skills were good? Pincer grip, and all, right?
She didn’t let go. He sighed.
“Sweetheart, you need to let go so I can get you out of this nasty diaper.”
She didn’t budge.
“Don’t you wanna change so we can surprise Mama with breakfast? We won’t have time if you keep this up.” Just as he had begun to suspect that reasoning with a nine month old was a lost cause, she actually let go.
“Mama!”
“Oh, of course that’s what gets you to let go!” He clicked his tongue.
She giggled again, and, instead of grabbing his hair, she valiantly took to doing her other favourite pastime. Which was just, like, smacking him on the face repeatedly.
Think like, someone clapping their hands, but instead it’s just his face between her hands.
Since he was almost always on morning duty, this was more or less how every morning went.
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
Finally, after much trials and tribulations (i.e. Zuko violently getting his hair pulled and cheeks pinched), Izumi was changed into an adorable onesie and strapped into her high chair in the kitchen.
Oh, also, the water had completely evaporated in the time it took them to do all that, so he needed to refill the teapot. “What would Uncle think if he sees this,” he grumbled, opening the window to let the steam out.
Now that that was all over with, he was again plagued with the fact that Mai was mad at him, and he didn't know why! So, being the mature Firelord he was, he decided to take that issue to council.
“Your mom is mad at me,” he said to Izumi, quickly tying his long hair back and away from his face, in a loose bun at the bottom of his head, and rolling up his sleeves.
Izumi babbled excitedly and kicked her feet at the reference of her mother. “Mama!”
“Yup, that’s the one,” Zuko agreed, chuckling. He pulled out a bamboo steamer and started preparing the dumplings and steamed buns, planning on letting them steam while he washed and cooked the rice. “Anyway, as I was saying, Mama is mad at me, but I don’t know why. I tried asking her last night, of course, but she said she was ‘fine’, which is, obviously, a blatant lie.”
He cut up some fruit on a plate for Izumi to hold her off while everything else was ready. He had approximately twenty minutes until Mai got up, which he figured would be enough.
“I can’t really recall doing anything to upset her last night, and I don’t even know when she got upset, you know? She was fine and then she suddenly wasn’t!” He finished washing the rice and transferred it over to a pot to cook. Drying his hands, he continued, “But” —he turned to Izumi seriously, crouching down to her eye level— “of course, me not remembering or knowing why Mai is upset does not mean that I am not at fault!” He cupped Izumi’s cheeks, interrupting her mid-chew. She grinned happily at him with her whopping six (!) teeth. (New development, by the way). He continued, determined to set a good example for his daughter, “Even if I don’t understand why Mama’s upset — even if she has told me, and I still don't get it — she still deserves an apology, because at the end of the day, I upset her, and that’s all that matters. Understood, Firelord Izumi?” He playfully pinched her little nose (which was identical to her mother’s), and she giggled, reaching for him with fruit-sticky hands.
“Anyway…” and so he continued, thinking out loud with his daughter and trying to puzzle out the reason for his darling wife’s anger at him, all while making breakfast for their family of three.

“Mai, come on, we'll be late!” Zuko called out, fastening his red robes around his waist.
“Well I don't know what to wear!” she called back from her place in the closet, frustrated.
“It doesn't matter! You look—”
“—And I love you, but you telling me that ‘I look beautiful in everything’ does not help!”
Zuko sighed. He'd dressed himself and Izumi in the time it took for his darling wife to… affectionately, make a mess of their closet and complain about having nothing to wear.
Placing Izumi in her little chair, he said with an affectionate roll of the eyes, “Yeah, yeah, I'm coming.”
“Is this good?” Mai asked, bashfully, when Zuko rapped his knuckles on the closet door and walked in, leaning against the doorframe.
He breathed out. She looked beautiful.
She was wearing a long, pretty, dark red dress that hugged her curves and flared out at the bottom. It had a row of buttons that sloped from the neckline down to her side, and dainty golden embroidery that matched her eyes and the gold and red fan earrings she wore. Her hair was in the usual hairstyle she'd adopted in her adult years— half of it in an elegant bun at the back of her head towards her nape, and the rest in two strands over her shoulders and down over her chest.
He noticed she put two beautiful gold pins through the bun.
“Do you like it?” she asked again, and he had an inclination her rosy cheeks weren't just due to an excess of powder blush. She adjusted it over her hips. “Is it too tight? It doesn't fit the same since” —she bit the inside of her cheek, averting her eyes and smoothing the fabric over her stomach— “Izumi.”
Zuko moved closer, slipping an arm around her waist and pulling her against him. Her hands went to his chest automatically, a familiar affection built over years of being together. “You look,” he rasped, hoisting her up by her waist and wrapping his arms around her middle, “absolutely ravishing.”
He craned his neck and caught her bottom lip between his teeth, kissing and gently tugging back. She wrapped her legs tighter around her and grinned despite herself, cupping his cheeks and looking down at him. One thing she enjoyed about being carried was the limited height she gained over Zuko.
She leaned down and kissed him again, their lips interlocking in an easy embrace. “Are you sure? You're not just saying that to get me to hurry up?” He could still hear a hint of unsurety in her low, raspy voice.
“Positive,” he responded in kind, slanting his lips over hers, “but if you don't want to go…” his hand slipped down her back to her ass.
She rolled her eyes without any heat, picking up on his very obvious implication. “Alright, horndog. Hands off.” She hopped down and adjusted her dress before looking up at him through her lashes and, teasingly, parroting back, “We'll be late.”
⁎⁺˳ ✧༚ ˎˊ˗ ♡ ˗ˏˋയ ✩
The sight Mai was met with when she walked downstairs was, she thought, a sight she could never get bored of. It was such a quintessential picture of domesticity she, at one point in her life, could've never imagined would've been hers.
Her husband in the kitchen making breakfast while their daughter sat beside him, babbling incoherently the way babies did.
“Really?! And what after that?” he asked animatedly, humouring said daughter while still focused on the plate he was assembling. Mai exhaled softly, leaning against the doorframe and just watching.
Watching her husband’s overly focused face as he diligently placed the fresh steamed buns onto a plate using chopsticks, a furrow in his dark brows and his hair tied back, all the while nodding along with Izumi’s story (which was, of course, all adorable gibberish).
And Izumi, who was sitting in a high chair and shoving eggs into her mouth using her entire fist, no doubt making a mess around her. What struck her though was Izumi’s hair, which was in two little buns at the sides of her head, and the front was smoothed over her head in a silly imitation of a fringe.
Mai bit back a smile.
This was obviously Zuko’s attempt at recreating Mai’s infamous hairstyle on their daughter. Which was a regular occurrence.
“Mai!” Zuko had finally noticed her.
Even after all these years of being together, and a whole child together, he still had a way of lighting up so genuinely every time he saw her. And no, this is not a firebending pun.
The way his eyes widened in an almost child-like excitement and his immediate awestruck kind of smile that made him resemble his sixteen year old self were almost enough for her to forget the fact that she was upset with him. Almost.
He set down the food, which was all ready now, and wiped his hands before walking up to her. “Sleep well?” he asked gently, tilting her chin up to kiss her. His touch was feather-light, so she could tell he was hesitant. Clearly, he hadn’t nor was he pretending to have forgotten about her mood, so. One point for him.
She let him kiss her, and she kissed back, because over their years of being together, one of the things she realised was that dealing with conflict did not mean that they had to rescind their love from each other— and especially for them two, whose primary language was physical touch.
“I slept pretty well,” she replied, her raspy voice full of that polite disinterest most people were used to hearing from her. To someone else, maybe, this wouldn't have been any cause for concern or anything out of the ordinary, but Zuko was immediately alarmed.
He could always tell.
So she's still upset. That was fine. He hadn't really expected otherwise. In fact, this was good for him, because there was no chance she could dismiss his questions about it now and say that ‘Oh, it's nothing, don't worry about it’.
They sat down to eat, and after a moment of awkward silence that made him feel like a seventeen year old in an argument with his girlfriend (also Mai) again, he broke.
“What did I do?” he blurted out. It wasn't an accusatory or patronising or deliberately obtuse question in any way. He sounded painfully earnest. “I know I did something to upset you, but I just… don't know what it is. I'm sorry. I tried to think, but I still don't know. I love you. Please tell me.”
If any of his friends could see him right now, the high and mighty Firelord, practically (unintentionally) giving his wife puppy eyes, they'd probably say he was pathetically in love.
And they'd be right.
Mai sighed and put her chopsticks down.
Another thing she'd realised over the years was that, as corny as it sounded, communication really was key. There was no use going in circles and beating around the bush and waiting for the other person to figure it out. Sometimes—most times—you just needed to have the conversation and move on.
Butttttt that doesn't mean that she didn't enjoy making him sweat sometimes. Most times.
“Last night,” she supplied. “At the party.”
“Yeah, I figured,” he responded without missing a beat, spooning a bit of dumpling into Izumi's mouth. “Good, huh?” He grinned when she got all excited and signed more. He directed his attention back at Mai, “Sorry. Keep going, baby.”
She feigned frustration, turning her face away from him while stroking Izumi’s hair, playing with the tiny buns. The feeling of the soft sprouts of hair between her fingers almost made her crack a smile. She knew it was Zuko's way of softening her up, but she didn't crack, wanting to make him sweat a little longer.
She shrugged nonchalantly, saying, “Your little… girlfriend was there last night. You didn't tell me she'd be there.”
He blinked. “Jin?!”
Mai scoffed. “Still on a first name basis, huh?” She shook her head in bewilderment, muttering, “You'd think the Firelord would have some respect for his wif—”
“Darling,” he breathed, interrupting her, in so much theatrical disbelief she almost laughed. He was so dramatic. He left his chair and immediately went to kneel in front of her, taking her hand in his.
Out of everything he could've guessed, it never would've been this. Mai was never jealous—not of his old girlfriends (just the one), that is. And of course, he wasn't faulting her for that or anything, but it was just… unexpected.
They'd met Jin the previous night unexpectedly at the party, and having already been well acquainted years ago (and having gone to Jin's wedding and having invited her to theirs, and having had Jin visit them on numerous occasions, the most recent being Izumi's birth), he'd safely assumed that speaking to Jin was fine. Right?
I mean, come on, Jin and Mai were closer than Jin and Zuko ever had been! They'd gone on one date, for God's sake!
But he wouldn't dare discredit Mai's feelings, no matter what.
“Did I say something specific that upset you? Or was it just the fact that I was having a conversation with her to begin with?” he asked, stroking her cold knuckles with his thumb, the contrast between their body temperature making him want to just scoop her up and take her to their bed to warm her up. In any means necessary.
Again, his question was nothing more than earnest.
“I… don't know,” Mai answered honestly, because even though she thought she didn't really care, she realised that she really was a little hurt, still. She had, of course, had time to think about it the previous night in the shower, and she'd come to the conclusion that while, yes, she was a little hurt at him barely paying any attention to her the whole night, busy both with Jin and everyone else who kept flanking him for a chance to speak with the Firelord, it was mostly the hormones speaking and after taking a little time to cool down, she understood that her feeling left out didn't mean that he was intentionally leaving her out. “I guess I just felt a bit jealous. And left out.”
“Mai…”
She squirmed. Even after all these years, she still felt that vague discomfort in the pit of her stomach when vocalising her feelings.
She rushed to say, “I know it's nothing and that you love me and that you're the Firelord and it's your duty to—”
“I am your husband before I am the Firelord,” he fiercely interrupted and pulled her down to join him on the floor. The gentleness of his touch contrasted the tone of his voice, both determined and desperate. “I am yours before I am anyone else's. My duty is to you, first and foremost, and I was wrong to neglect you in a party I brought you to. We came here to relax— to enjoy time away from all that Firelord bullshit, but I still found away to sink back into that role.”
“Zuko,” she said quietly with a hint of a smile, leaning into him and looping her arms around his neck, “it really isn't that big of a deal.” She kissed him sweetly once, his arms instantly going around her and pulling her closer against him. “I was just hormonal.” Then with an adorably teasing smirk that Zuko wanted to kiss off her face, she jested, “You can stop with the melodrama now.”
He huffed a laugh and spoke sincerely against her lips, “Still. I don't care if it was ‘the hormones’. I still upset you, and I'm sorry.”
“It wasn't a big deal,” she insisted, but deep down, she was really glad he cared so sincerely for her feelings.
“Don't care. I'm still sorry.”
She rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the smile and the rumble of laughter in her chest. “Fine, you drama queen.” She leaned forward and brushed her lips against his. “I forgive you.”
He ran his tongue across her bottom lip, one side of his lips tugging up in a smirk. “So soon?” he murmured against her, slipping his fingers in her long silky hair. “I was ready to make it up to you.”
Before the kiss could escalate any further—their daughter was right there, hello?—Mai pushed Zuko away, laughing. “Are you in heat?” she asked, giggling.
He gave her a lopsided grin. “For you? Always.”
She shook her head with laughter and pulled him up to stand. They made a good couple.

Tumblr media
It seems like an entire lifetime has passed since I last posted. I was back in my hometown. And here are some updates.
1. The only one who was still there, had time and was interested in hanging out with me is mostly just my dad. (You shouldn’t be so surprised to find out you are not so popular in real life if you have been blorbo posting to an audience of ten people on tumblr dot com). I spent most of the time at home listening to him talking about everything and eating with him. That’s something he can’t expect from my little sister and brother. They would rather go out to eat foreign food and don’t like to listen to him “moralising”.
I was born in a different time. When I was a baby, dad made chicken broth for me out of chicken feet because he couldn’t afford any meat. When he needed pork for my porridge he would buy bones but sweet talk the butcher lady so she left some more meat on the bones. Then he would take me out drinking with him after kindergarten (don’t worry it’s not what you think). I was the only kid among a bunch of drunken men so I was treated like a princess by the waitresses. They would bring me the best food they could find every time my dad brought me in. That’s how I got to eat chicken drumsticks for free.
Even if I had all the money in the world, no waitress would treat me better than when I was just a poor man’s daughter.
2. They have put an automatic door at the gate of the Temple of Literature. You have to scan the ticket to get through it. Buy some dried plums at the shop and you scan their QR code to pay with your phone. Ask a 15-year-old where they hang out with their friends in their free time and the first answer is “shopping mall”.
I asked my stepmom about a new piece of wall decor at home and she said it’s some Japanese secondhand stuff. “Importing thrown-away stuffs from Japan is a business now. We are like their dumpster”, she said. My cousin’s daughter speaks better English than me, she is four year old.
They recently built a big museum for military history. It’s not completed yet and the entry is still free. When I was there with my friend on a Thursday morning, it was packed with people. Everyone was taking selfie or having photo taken as if they didn’t just see thousands years of wars, after which their country is becoming more and more like its enemies.
3. My little sister used to say she would go to the fine arts museum with me when I’m home. But ever since she got into the most famous “elite” high school in Vietnam, she has been “working” day and night for the six clubs that she is in. Every time I asked what she was doing she was “working on her deadlines”. She has meetings, interviews, reviews, feedbacks. She knows 600 fellow club members. She has to write posts, design posters, organise events. Her ambition is to get promoted to a “higher position”. I only got to see her at dinner. And she just got into high school a few months ago.
She showed me the instagram page of the robotics club at her school. They have photoshoots for their members as if they were actors. And my blorbo looked in most studio photos like he just came back from a parent-teacher meeting.
4. My little brother is still not showing much interest in studying. But he still wants “an easy job with a high salary” and doesn’t show any interest in “hard work” either. My dad has tried a lot of things and still can’t get his son to turn over a new leaf. “The family method” wouldn’t work on my brother, he said. He means the way his uncle “fixed” him back in his youth.
Back then, dad didn’t learn anything at school. One day after he failed the university entrance exam, his uncle came to his house. He was drunk and he told my dad: “Look at your parents! They gave you everything and you are a good-for-nothing! How can people as talented as your parents have such a useless son as you?! You don’t deserve to bear our last name!” Then he vomited everything he has just eaten and made my dad eat that.
My dad, as proud as he was, had to eat the vomit and started studying after that.
The education system has ruined this new generation, he said. They learn to get good grades and they give out good grades when it fits them. All the politicians telling them to learn hard today will be arrested for corruption the next day. There are as many university graduates as puppies, just as clueless and just as helpless. If your parents are not rich, are not high-ranking officials or don’t have any “connections” then you are on your own.
“Whoever has land to sell nowadays is rich”, he said. And the famine drove my great grandparents out of their hometown in 1945 so we don’t have any land, he also said.
5. My aunt called me a rice ball because I have gained weight. Too much blorbo posting, I guess. Everyone tells me I need to exercise more. My exercise is now my new hiatus and I hope they don’t mean the same thing.

A Practical 6-Month Baby Food Chart for Winter
Introducing solid foods to your baby is an exciting step in their developmental journey. With winter approaching, creating a seasonal nutrition plan is essential to ensure your little one receives the right nutrients to stay healthy and thrive. At six months, babies require additional nourishment beyond milk, making it the perfect time to design a baby food chart tailored to their needs in colder months.
Why Opt for a Winter-Specific Diet?
Winter can pose unique challenges for babies, such as a higher risk of colds and infections due to a developing immune system. Including warm, nutrient-rich, and immunity-boosting foods in their diet helps keep them cozy and well-protected. Seasonal fruits, vegetables, and grains available in winter are loaded with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making them ideal for your baby’s health during this time.
Important Tips Before Starting Solids
Consult Your Pediatrician: Confirm with your doctor that your baby is ready for solid foods.
Follow the 3-Day Rule: Introduce one new food at a time and monitor for any signs of allergies or sensitivities over three days.
Prioritize Hygiene: Wash all produce and utensils thoroughly to maintain cleanliness and prevent infections.
Adjust Food Textures: Start with smooth purees and gradually move to mashed or thicker textures as your baby adapts.
Key Nutrients to Focus On
Vitamin C: Enhances immunity and protects against infections.
Iron: Supports brain development and healthy growth.
Healthy Fats: Provides energy and warmth in winter.
Fiber: Aids digestion and prevents constipation.
Winter-Specific 6-Month Baby Food Chart

How: Steam, mash, and serve warm.

Introduce Mild Spices: Add gentle spices like cinnamon or turmeric for flavor and warmth.
Hydrate with Care: Breast milk or formula remains the primary source of hydration, complemented by water-rich foods.
Foods to Avoid
Honey: Risk of botulism for babies under one year.
Salt and Sugar: Avoid as they are unnecessary for infants.
Cow’s Milk: Hard for young stomachs to digest.
Citrus Fruits: Too acidic for babies at this stage.
Whole Nuts and Seeds: Choking hazards unless finely ground.
Monitoring Your Baby’s Progress
Observe for Allergies: Look for rashes, vomiting, or diarrhea after introducing a new food.
Track Growth Regularly: Regular pediatric visits help ensure your baby is growing as expected.
Address Digestive Issues: Include Fiber-rich foods like pears or prunes if constipation occurs.
Final Thoughts
A well-planned, winter-specific baby food chart ensures your baby receives the necessary nutrients to stay healthy and warm during the colder months. Winter Diet Guide for 6-Month-Old Babies
As winter arrives, parents often struggle with deciding what foods are best for their 6-month-old babies. At this stage, babies transition from breastfeeding or formula to solid foods, which is a crucial time for their development. A nutritious winter diet will not only support their growth but also help strengthen their immune system against the cold weather. In this blog post, we’ll provide a detailed food plan for 6-month-old babies during the winter months to ensure they stay healthy and happy.
The Significance of a Proper Diet
At 6 months old, a baby’s digestive system is still maturing, so introducing solids gradually is important. With the added challenge of winter illnesses, a well-planned diet is necessary for:
Proper nutrition to promote growth and development.
Strengthened immunity to combat common winter ailments.
A smooth transition to new food textures and flavors.
Learn more about creating the perfect baby food diet for your baby.
The Role of Breastfeeding or Formula Feeding
Even though you’re introducing solid foods, breastfeeding or formula feeding should remain the primary source of nutrition. Breast milk and formula are packed with vital nutrients, antibodies, and warmth, which protect your baby during the cold weather.
Best Foods for 6-Month-Old Babies During Winter
When planning a baby food diet, focus on foods that are easy to digest, full of nutrients, and provide warmth. Here are some great choices:
1. Warm Porridges
Rice Cereal: Mashed rice cereal is gentle on your baby’s stomach and provides essential carbohydrates.
Ragi (Finger Millet) Porridge: Ragi is high in calcium and iron, making it ideal for keeping your baby warm during winter. You can cook it with water or breast milk for extra nutrition.
2. Vegetable Purees
Start with purees of carrots, sweet potatoes, or pumpkin. These vegetables are full of vitamins and antioxidants that help boost immunity.
Ensure that the vegetables are steamed or boiled, then pureed into a smooth consistency for easy digestion.
3. Winter Fruits
Apples and pears are perfect for winter. Steaming and mashing them into a puree makes them easier for your baby to digest.
Bananas, although available all year, are also a great source of energy. Serve them at room temperature.
4. Lentil Soup
Strained lentil soup is protein-rich, warming, and easy on the stomach. Avoid adding salt or spices during this stage.
5. Ghee
A few drops of ghee can be added to porridges or purees. Ghee is a good source of healthy fats and helps keep your baby warm.
6. Herbs and Spices
A small pinch of nutmeg or cardamom can be added to meals for warmth and flavor. These spices are known for aiding digestion and boosting immunity.
Tips for Preparing Winter Meals
Fresh Ingredients: Always use fresh, seasonal produce.
Cleanliness: Ensure all utensils and ingredients are clean to prevent infections.
Serve Warm: Serve food at a lukewarm temperature to keep your baby comfortable.
Introduce Foods Slowly: Introduce one new food at a time to monitor for allergies.
Sample Winter Meal Plan for a 6-Month-Old Baby
Here’s a sample meal plan to follow:
Morning: Breast milk or formula feeding.
Mid-Morning: Apple or pear puree.
Lunch: Rice cereal or ragi porridge.
Afternoon: Breast milk or formula feeding.
Evening: Vegetable puree (carrot or sweet potato).
Night: Breast milk or formula feeding.
Foods to Avoid in Winter
When planning a baby food diet, be mindful of the following foods:
Citrus Fruits: Acidic fruits like oranges may upset your baby’s stomach.
Honey: Honey can cause botulism in babies under one year.
Raw Foods: Always cook and mash foods for easy digestion.
Cold Foods: Avoid giving food directly from the fridge.
How to Know When Your Baby is Ready for Solids
Before you start solids, make sure your baby shows these signs:
Can sit up with minimal support.
Shows interest in food during mealtime.
Has lost the tongue-thrust reflex (spitting out food).
Monitoring Your Baby’s Health
Watch for any changes in your baby’s response to new foods, such as:
Digestive issues like constipation or diarrhea.
Skin rashes or allergic reactions.
Changes in appetite.
If any of these occur, stop the new food and consult your pediatrician.

Updates for 2023... so far
Well 2023 was not supposed to be a good year for me and I can attest to it. I have so much anxiety at the moment, I cant even sleep at night even though Hanna has finally STTN. So mentally and physically I am at a 5, sometimes dropping to a 4. Why am I so anxious? There's a thousand and one things running in my head these days. My job/career (or lack of) is like hovering in the air. I thought I was gonna get retrenched but dodged the bullet in Jan but there's another round now, and other job opportunities are drying up in this market. We sold our place (yay!) but this means a mad scramble for another home (which I am praying will not have bad FS direction) and also a ton of other things to plan like reno, childcare etc. H still haven't mention anything about the period where we will be homeless but I am guessing he is banking on staying with his parents (hurray to my mental health).
Happy to say that both kiddos are growing up well. Hyder is already 5 and somehow during this period he has lost all his baby fats and baby voice. Now he sounds like a mini teenager and acts like one. I had such a hard time during this phase that I signed up for parenting classes but I am too tired to listen to it regularly now. Sigh, I like to think it is at least a step in the right direction and it will make me be able to cope with Hanna when she is at that stage.
Hanna is just more of everything compared to Hyder. Her temper, her voice, but also her sweetness. She can be shrieking one moment but later when she cries mama for me, my heart just melts. She blabbers a lot more words at 18 months and is already running, climbing and kicking ass (no just balls :P) I broke so many of my own rules when it comes to her. With Hyder I was adamant about him sleeping in his own cot but guess who is sleeping in between us now. Hyder was on home cooked porridge and food till he was almost 3 but I have already started giving Hanna outside meals with diluted soup. Motherhood is really a learning journey. As time goes I realised they are all growing up and the phases dont last. There will be a last time for everything and I just want to cherish the times with both of them now.

Food s pyramid.
Reading special books, listening advices about a how to enter feeding up for baby, but again diathesis attacks him, please share a how to care baby on 1- st   years old against this.
Babies within ten years are stayed other, thus and enter in menu new products till one y.old needing very care ,than our grandmother done for our   older children's. As enough and not enough entering food s substances leading to destroying in physical development, destroying in forming, and developing in CNS, and diseases displaying as hypovitaminosis,  deficit  anaemia, caries, osteoporosis, high or low weight, meal s allergy, diathesis and other digestion organs diseases. Feeding up are all products, not a mum s milk, and baby s formulas, adding for ration with meal s substances are needing for your baby development.
Diathesis of adding feeding up  displaying, when children s organism is a not ready to digest new product. Pancreas gland is stressing, trying manufacturing a needing ferments, that leasing to small inflammation , on ultrasound she is increased. Immune system have to react on any inflammation and cure his, thus in baby are not ALL   systems formed, thus reaction immune system  displaying with diathesis on a skin.
Dates for feeding up for children's which are feeding with mum s milk, and on artificial feeding, individually and needing accounting peculiarities for developing  and cns ,thus he must ready perception for new meal. For healthy children need to feeding up on 4-5 months, products of feeding up are importance for the forming taste habits and meet his with a new taste feels, which depending on from genetical factors, peculiarities from mum s meal and breastfeeding, family traditions. After birth, children transfer on  lactotrophic meal type as ability to digest just mother s milk, and other products for him are poisoning. And for receiving new product are needing 10-15 attempts, and feeding up needing beginning with one product , if he negatively reacted on this, you can to know a which product. And load on organism with one product is less ,than a few, and baby easy adapting. Negative reaction are diathesis, hard stool, diarrhoea, other stool changes as with mucus, smell, green. Thus cancel product, rest for week, and care give next product , and feeding up beginning again adding and in 1–2 months. Different products for feeding up forming a right meal s behaviour. On appetite affecting a right appearance, taste, meal consistence, smell, and you not try to rate a taste for baby s meal, that manufacturing feeding up are not adding salt, sugar, which are not adding in cooking.
If mum s milk enough till 1 y.old and better till 1.5 y.old thus feed him , this is white blood and non-baby s formula, feeding up are having these structures.
And in adding feeding up, keep these rules:
Entering new product begin with small quantity ,slowly within are  5–7  days rising till size, recommending on this age, and checking for enduring.
New product is dish, give on a first half day for a cancel possible reaction on entering.
Porridges, vegetable, fruit purées entering beginning with a monocompetent products.
Feeding up giving with spoon till a feeding by breast or baby s milk formula.
New products are not entering on an acute infection diseases, to and after preventing vaccinations, within 3-5 days.
On 9-12 months, homogenizing and puree forming products slowly change on chopped.
Keep breastfeeding, for a keeping lactation is on a entering products time, a feeding up apply baby to the breast.
Products for feeding up ,then a breast milk and adapting formulas containing 30 percents for water, thus for baby eating feeding up give water special bottle from, or boiled on small portions between feeding as on 150-200 ml/day.
About a juice, purée, thus buy are ready in special markets for baby s food, they are manufactured better, and selected by age, without artificial substances, and having vitamins, minerals, pre and probiotics, omega 3, and not a buy food by firms which you are seen a first time.
Fruit juices traditionally looked as a first feeding up product, and theirs non-significant meal value, theirs better enter after base kinds for feeding up. Juices entering between meal time is  risk for caries, and abundant theirs drinking leading to obesity. And a one from a wrong feeding up entering is disbacteriosis. An overloaded, stressed pancreas gland , mechanically rough food changing bowel s motor, improving conditions for reproduction for bad microbes and worsening for useful bacteria for organism. Bad microbes quantities leading to diathesis. Disbacteriosis bowel on the first years old life and elder age leading to dyskinesia gall ways, bowel, chronic gastroduodentitis, colitis, atopic dermatitis, neurodermitis, bronchial asthma, and of weak immunity a child with disbacteriosis bowel often and long sick. And for disbacteriosis cure using complex immune globulin preparation/CIP/, bacteriophages, bifidumbacterine, acilact, bificol, lactobacterias, primadofilus, linex. If in children is skin displays,as atopic dermatitis, urticaria, pyoderma, thus with a common cure are ferments, stabilizations for membranes obese cells and disbacteriosis correction are prescribing local cure.
In a right feeding and care is lowering risk for disbacteriosis a bowel displaying and chronic diseases displaying on his background. Thus try a longer keeping breastfeeding, if you cannot by reasons, thus transfer on the artificial adapted milk formulas are having to be slow and by your pediatrist agree.

Note: Thank you to everyone who liked and reblogged my last fic!! I’m really happy, ily you all <33 This idea has been floating in my mind for months now, and I finally had the will to write it UwU
Tumblr media
1:17 pm and you’re tired and hungry from all the waiting you’ve been doing for gojo to come down. he was already awake when you called for him to eat lunch because the both of you will be going out in a while, considering it's a sunday, but it had been 29 minutes since. you decide to give him one more minute, being the considerate spouse that you are, knowing he’s probably tired from all the stuff he had to deal with within the week starting from gakuganji, itadori, as well as training of the first years and second years.
1:18 pm and you walk inside the room, seeing a six-foot smurf visibly shivering despite being wrapped in a cocoon of blankets (definitely not how he looked like 30 minutes ago). you hurriedly search for the air conditioner’s remote, turning it off. you tiptoe on your way to his side, extremely careful not to wake him up, but fail to see one of the pillows on the floor so you trip on it and fall flat on your face, earning a hoarse snicker from the man in the bed above you. you glare at him, he grins and blows you a kiss.
1:42 pm and you’re sitting on the edge of gojo’s side of the bed, waiting for the beep of the thermometer. you've already spoon-fed him a freshly made okayu—courtesy of him insisting he won’t eat anything and would die with a heart full of grief if you did not feed him—and made him take paracetamol. you’ve also made him wear a surgical mask, i'm not risking getting your virus, you firmly said while putting his mask on him, and he responded with an exaggerated gasp accompanied by a real cough as he dramatically clutched his chest, so mean, honey, do you not want to share my germs anymore?
2:03 pm and you’re back in the room after washing the dishes, only to see gojo in the middle of slowly putting a pair of jeans on. what are you doing? you ask, swiftly moving to stand in front of him and touch his forehead, you’re still hot. though you can’t see his lower face, you know he’s smirking when he responds with a croaky voice, i know i'm hot, babe, it's why you can’t keep your hands off me. he grabs your hand on his forehead, and i'm getting dressed for our date. we’ll be leaving in a while, right? he then leans in, kissing your cheek behind his mask. you firmly shake your head, pushing him back on the bed and tucking him under the sheets. your health is far more important than that, just rest for now. he whines—unsurprisingly—before pouting and dejectedly muttering about how a little flu won’t kill me, you know and that maybe you’re just using his sickness as an excuse to not spend more time with him. you scoff and stick your tongue out at him, finding his sulky nature adorable.
4:33 pm and you feel a warm hand snake around your waist and an equally warm face nuzzle into the crook of your neck. you’re currently standing in the kitchen, preparing your husband’s zosui. the leftover rice porridge you made earlier now sits forgotten on your dinner table because gojo thinks it’s not sweet enough, baby. to which you answered, it’s not supposed to be sweet at all, you manchild. you turn to scold said manchild, but was met with a white blanket floating into the air, no signs of the sorcerer left in the kitchen. you walk around trying to find the sick menace, suddenly feeling a tinge of cursed energy. satoru! you call, entering the living room and seeing your husband snickering while standing behind the couch. you're about to catch him, but he disappears yet again, a playful catch mee~ reverberating throughout the room.
5:05 pm and you’ve already searched through every nook and cranny of the four-walled penthouse you live in. it’s been half an hour since your menace of a husband decided to play hide and seek sorcerer edition with you and frankly speaking, you're getting annoyed (and worried) that he still has this much energy despite having an illness that kills 3,000 people in japan yearly. you've lost count of how many times you've almost caught gojo only for him to teleport, but not without obnoxiously laughing followed by a what's wrong, baby? seems like i'm still a looot stealthier than you~ or a you can't find me with that half-assed will, babe!~ you're barely hanging on your last thread of patience, ready to snap and use your technique to turn his house into shambles.
5:17 pm and you're sitting on the couch in the living room, arms folded and frowning so hard your eyebrows could be mistaken as a unibrow. boo!! you suddenly hear someone say, accompanied by a sudden hand on your shoulders. you jump, but quickly compose yourself so the snow-haired man-child could see that you're not having fun with the little game he's playing. you hear him ask from behind you with a teasing tone why you stopped searching but you don't respond, only huffing and turning your head away. you hear his footsteps, and suddenly he's standing right in front of you with the blanket draped over his shoulders and his forehead glistening with sweat. he's also panting heavily behind his mask, something you didn't hear before, and you can see him slightly shivering despite the air conditioner turned off.
5:19 pm and you quickly stand, panicking, one hand reaching for gojo's forehead to feel his body heat. your worry worsens when you feel him burning up, so you remove the mask off him, finding it funny (and a little heartbreaking) at how he really obeyed your earlier command to never take it off unless you ask him to, even though now he's visibly struggling to breathe. you feel him lean into the touch and close his eyes, releasing a soft exhale upon feeling your skin. you make him lie on the couch, quietly nagging at him while wrapping the sheet on his body. he just looks at you and smiles, gorgeous ocean orbs shooting out love bullets and hands reaching out to stop you from leaving. you tell him you're just gonna get him a new pair of clothes and blankets, as well as some stuff you need to bathe him. he briefly presses his lips to your hand before letting go, closing his eyes to try and even his breathing.
6:48 pm and you're carding your hand through gojo's snowy locks, his head on your lap, chest rising and falling steadily. you've finished wiping his whole body with a lukewarm water and a washcloth, as well as dressing him up with sweatpants and sweater. he's been asleep on the couch for an hour now and you let him, not wanting to have him spend energy on going upstairs to your shared bedroom. his fever still hasn't gone down, so you made sure he's wrapped nicely like a burrito in the new blanket you got (the other has been damp with sweat). your husband is also wearing a mask again, after insisting that he can't have his beloved beloved spouse get sick and suffer like he currently is (you think he's being a tad dramatic, but you'll take it. thinking back that aside from the stress-inducing game he forced you to play earlier, he had been obedient most of the time and took your every word to his heart). the zosui you were cooking earlier just sits on the stove, and as you give your husband a kiss on his forehead, you decide to just heat it up later for dinner.
8:51 pm and you're sitting on your side of the bed while your husband's lying on your lap once again, still wrapped in a blanket and body positioned like a fetus. it's actually really hot with the air conditioner off, and you wonder how gojo caught a flu in the middle of summer. he hasn't woken up since you spoon fed him dinner (again) probably due to the tremendous amount of energy he used to move and teleport himself around the apartment. you're tired too, feeling like you just took care of a flu-laden hyperactive 4-year old. you look at him again, now face free of the mask, and you feel your heart skip a beat on how handsome he still is. you hold his cheek with your right hand, leaning down closer to his face. you were such a big baby today, you himbo, you fondly say, smiling and pecking his nose. but you're my big baby, you giggle softly, pressing a loving kiss on his lips. i love you so much, satoru, you whisper, get well soon, leaning to kiss him once more before lightly biting his bottom lip.

omake
9:06 am and it's already monday. you're in front of your husband's students (the first and second years minus itadori), explaining to them why their teacher can't oversee their training so you're taking his place instead. gojo-sensei has the flu, you say, earning you a confused noise (and some scoff, you think you heard maki’s the loudest). you already had a feeling they won't believe you easily, so you whip your phone up to show them a photo of you holding a peace sign with your husband in the background sleeping with a kool fever slapped on his forehead.
5:26 pm and you’re peppering gojo’s face with kisses, showering him with love after not seeing him for nine hours. your husband just holds a loving smile on his lips, obviously enjoying how you’re spoiling him. he felt and heard your little kisses and get well soon last night when you thought he was asleep, and that had been his fuel all this time to try his best not to die. he's getting worried though, his fever and cold has gone down and he doesn’t feel as fatigued as he was yesterday, but he can see your eyes getting runny and you’ve been kinda sniffing since you got home.
10:34 am the next day and gojo finally tells the first and second years to take a break. they all plop down on the field, and he takes a mental note to strengthen their stamina more. nobara then calls out to him and asks him why you’re not in the campus, a curious look on her face. gojo grins before taking his phone out of his pocket, showing them a selfie he took earlier with his face squished next to yours—who’s sleeping with flushed cheeks and a kool fever on forehead. panda snickers, you guys really can’t keep your hands off each other, huh, earning an ugh from the rest of the students (save for toge who cheerfully says shake!).

Honest
once again, writing about my struggles. this one is really dark, so don’t read it if you can’t. read the tw’s on this one because it is important and can be triggering. if you need to talk to someone, you can always message me x
tw’s: death, grief, ed’s, guilt, angst
Tom had been away filming for 4 months. He didn’t really want to leave when he did, because your brother had died in an accident 2 months beforehand. You felt like you were teetering the edge, but you told him to go anyway. He loved his job. And even though he would say that he loved you more, you didn’t really want to bother him with your grief anymore. But you had found a coping mechanism. A bad one.
‘Okay, if I had porridge for breakfast, I could have salad for lunch?’
You looked down at Tessa, meeting her eyes from on the floor.
‘Lunch or no lunch, Tess?’
She just butted her head against your leg.
‘Okay then, no lunch it is.’
You made your way to the couch you shared with your husband, and you rolled your ankle on the way there. Your eyes slammed shut as you felt your side collide with the cold tiles.
‘Fuck. That hurt.’
You looked down to see your ankle already turning purple and swelling. You quickly got up and grabbed a frozen pack of peas before limping over to the sofa. You put on Fear Street, trying to ignore the hunger in your stomach. You knew that even if you had a quick snack, you wouldn't be able to handle the guilt afterwards.
Your mother had come round a week ago, and as soon as she saw how thin and sunken in you looked, she suggested you get mental help.
‘Darling, you look awful.’
You chuckled.
‘Gee, thanks Mum. I really appreciate the vote of confidence.’
‘No, I only mean that you should see someone about your brother. I I know you two were close, hell, you grew up together. I know this is hard. I know. But you’re letting yourself go and I can’t lose another child.’
You looked into your mothers eyes, and a wave of guilt rushed over you. Tom had been away for months and you had been alone. Had you really gotten this bad?
‘I don’t think I’ve let myself go. I’m okay, Mum. Really. I’m fine.’
Your mother let out a sarcastic laugh.
‘Fine? I’m standing in front of the shell of the girl I raised. I know fine when I see it, and you my dear, are not fine.’
You wanted her to leave. Before you had no legs to stand on and you couldn't defend yourself anymore.
‘I’m fine Mum. Let it go.’
You turned around to face the counter, putting your hands on the marble, closing your eyes, waiting for the blow.
‘Your brother wouldn't want you to live like this.’
You whirled around, and pointed your hand towards the door.
‘That's it. Get out. Get out of my house!’
Your mother quickly shuffled towards the door, leaving with a goodbye and promises to call you later.
But you were better today. Because today Tom was supposed to come home.
But when he slowly unlocked the door, you had fallen asleep. He took in the sight of his wife curled up on the sofa, and softly smiled. Until he noticed there was less of you than when he had left. All those facetime calls had not shown him how slim you had really gotten. And it caught him off guard.
He slowly came towards your sleeping figure on the sofa, careful not to make any of the floorboards squeak. He gently put his hand on your shoulder, rubbing his thumb against your crimson jumper.
Your eyelids fluttered open, to be met face to face with your favourite person in the world. You leap off the sofa, flinging your arms around your husband, a tear laugh slipping out from between your lips.
‘You’re back!’
Tom laughed, and stroked your cheeks, wiping the tears that were threatening to fall.
‘I am. I missed you, baby.’
You tucked your head into his shoulder, inhaling the scent of Tom.
‘You’re real. You’re real.’
Tom's smile dropped. Real? Had he been away for that long? He dragged his right hand up and down your back, while his left ran his fingers through your hair.
‘Of course I’m real honey. Now, what happened? Why does it look like there are less of you than before I left?’
That seemed to send off warning bells in your head. You quickly curled into yourself, taking a step back and wrapping your arms around your figure.
‘Nothing happened, I just…I don’t always have time to cook.’
Tom sensed that you were lying, but he didn't want to push you. He grabbed your hand and kissed the back.
‘Why don’t I make you a nice meal then?’
He guided you away from the black leather sofa, taking in the pack of thawing peas in the corner, making a mental note to ask about them later.
‘Pasta? Soup? What are we feeling?’
Tom let go of your hand, nodding his head towards a chair in the corner of the room, encouraging you to go sit down.
You were racking your brain for excuses. You’ve already eaten today? He wouldn’t fall for that, he’s not dumb.
‘I can do soup.’
Tom started making the base of your favourite soup, Italian wedding soup. You somehow managed to escape, making your way up the stairs of your house. Tessa followed you, sensing that you were on edge. Tom also noticed it, but kept his mouth shut. He didn't really want to deal with confrontation on his first day back. So he let his wife go.
‘Darling! Dinners ready!’
You woke up for the third time today. It wasn't unusual for you to take naps throughout the day, but now all you wanted to do was sleep. You made eye contact with Tessa who was lying on the floor, staring up at you.
‘I don't want to be awake.’ You whispered into the darkness.
You slowly, step by step, made it down the stairs. Tom was smiling, waiting for you at the bottom.
‘I made your favourite. Italian wedding soup!’
You gave him a tight smile and wrapped your arms around his frame. You loved this man so much.
‘Thank you so much, Tommy.’ You whispered in his ear.
You knew that the struggle wasn’t over, but you were glad to have Tom by your side.

clean sheets and daisies
enlightenmonth 2022 (@koushirohikari) // [day 1-4] friends/family welcome to enlightenmonth!! let's see if i can finish them all lmao. i LOVE the dynamic between atlurkabuterimon and angewomon in the original adventure, so i think it will be nice to tell a story from tailmon and tentomon's perspective. also i love maid!tentomon. set on the day hikari and koushiro will return from the hospital after giving birth to their first son, also with a hint of kenyako :) I LOVE CRYING WORMMON
Tumblr media
When she received the basket that would serve as her bed a few years ago, Tailmon immediately claimed the corner just below the torchère as her territory. According to her careful calculation, the spot was perfect because she could watch whoever came and go through the front door. At the same time, she had the view of all the greens and flowers planted on the balcony, just under the windchime that added to the relaxing vibe. With the apartment facing the east side, she would also be blessed to be woken up every morning by the sunlight that filtered through the balcony door.
This morning, however, it was the soft sound of a machine and a familiar buzz that forced her to open her eyes.
The first thing she caught was Tentomon, wearing his infamous maid apron, thudding the Roomba that got stuck in the corner of the TV cabinet. It was always hard to read his expression with his type of face, but Tailmon could figure that he was currently grumpy after living under the same roof for a couple of years already.
That, and because his knocks were getting louder.
Tailmon winced her eyes. “What are you doing?”
“I think this device is broken!” Tentomon chided. “The advertisement said that it ensures ‘100% cleanliness in your home!’ but look at this! It can’t even clean this corner where the dust hangs out the most!”
Tailmon glanced at the said dent—an obvious right angle where a circle-shaped Roomba would never fit. Perhaps he forgot that not every robot could morph like a Mochimon. She sighed, jumping off her basket and lifting the Roomba away from the corner so the robot could return to a straighter lane.
“Now you can clean it with your broom, and the problem will be solved.”
“But Hikari-han won’t allow me!”
“Hikari isn’t home yet. I’m her partner, so we have an equal voice. Just clean it as you want, Tentomon.”
If his eyes could gleam, they would definitely do so.
“Ookinai, Tailmon!”
Tentomon was gone in a blink of an eye, coming back with a mini broom and a dustpan to sweep the corner. He hummed and even proclaimed how much he missed doing chores as if he didn’t do it secretly every time Hikari went out. After all, Hikari was the one who asked Tentomon not to act like a housemaid—including in the past nine months where she was required to lessen her activities, hence the purchase of the robot vacuum.
Tailmon strolled to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of milk from the fridge when she noticed there was a pot with uncooked rice soaked inside, just beside the sink. She once again eyed the happy bug in suspicion.
“Tentomon,” she called, repeating her question. “What are you doing?”
“Oh,” he mumbled after understanding what Tailmon was referring to. “I am making porridge. Hawkmon said babies can only drink milk, but I reckon that is not enough to help the baby grow healthier. He needs more nutrition!”
“...but that’s the point, right? Babies can only drink milk.”
Tentomon paused.
“If that’s the point, then maybe you shouldn’t drink that milk, Tailmon. We need to save it.”
“But the milk can only be—” Tailmon stopped midway, remembering that Hawkmon only told her about where babies get their milk right after Tentomon flew away. Perhaps the concept of breastfeeding would be too strange, even for an intelligent Digimon like him.
“You know what?” she decided. “Let’s just make the porridge. I think Hikari and Koushiro will be hungry too.”
They ended up working side by side to cook the dish, with Tailmon mincing the ingredients and Tentomon mixing them into the pot while controlling the stovetop. The last thing to do was to wait for the porridge to cook, so they utilised the remaining one hour to have one final check on the master bedroom. Even though it had been left empty for three nights already, Tentomon managed to keep it tidy—Tailmon could even catch a faint smell of laundry. However, the spotlight was not the queen mattress on the centre. It was the wooden cot on the corner, decorated with hanging planets above. Inside, a teddy bear was resting comfortably under the blanket; its head looked so tiny even though the pillow where it rested was smaller compared to the ones that adults use.
Soon, its place would be taken by a baby boy.
“Oh, my. I cannot believe it,” Tentomon mumbled, clenching the cot’s fence with his forearms. “It feels just like yesterday when I saw Koushiro-han analysing the Digital World, and suddenly he’s an adult—” a sniff, “—and now he’s having a child.”
His melodramatic wail echoed across the room. Tailmon remembered another thing Hawkmon said about Wormmon having the change of hormone instead of Miyako. Perhaps the same thing happened to Tentomon. He was a delicate-hearted creature, after all.
But she couldn’t blame him. Even Tailmon felt like time flew way too fast. She still remembered how she watched a little girl with a pink scarf from afar, shifting her intention to kill into something more endearing. They had jumped together from one journey into another, beating monsters and meeting new friends. And now, flashing before Tailmon’s eyes, she witnessed the already-mature Hikari stepping into a new adventure called motherhood.
Tailmon exhaled. She decided to channel her melancholy by running outside to the adjacent park. She found a patch of daisies and picked some before dashing back up. Tailmon then tucked three stalks on the doll’s hand so it would look like the doll was carrying a bouquet.
“This should be a nice welcome to the baby,” she smiled before turning to Tentomon, handing the one remaining stalk. “And this is for you, Tentomon.”
“...for me?”
Tailmon nodded. “Thanks for taking care of the house. I hope we can continue to work together to protect Hikari and Koushiro’s little family.”
Tentomon’s eyes started to get watery again. The weeping returned in a split second, and Tailmon could only pat him on the back in hope to make him feel better. That was when her sharp ears caught the faint steps outside with an indistinct chatter—a signal that widened the upward curve on her mouth.
“They’re here,” Tailmon announced. “Come on, let’s greet them!”
A new chapter was officially begun as they opened the door to reveal a new family member.
