Summary: You meet Vince’s daughter for the first time

“Are you sure we should be doing this?” You asked Vince weary. You’ve never dated someone who had a kid before, therefore, have never met your boyfriends kid.

“It’s going to be okay, I promise. Now come on, Sharise is expecting me to come pick her up.” He responded. He was so sure of this. However you couldn’t shake the feeling in your stomach. You knew that have his daughter didn’t like you then it’d be over for you two.

Once you arrived at his ex wife’s house, you stayed in the car while he walked to the front door to get his little girl. Your heart melted as you watched him carry her. She was so cute and the way that he, this big tough rockstar was handling her was the cutest.

He put her in her car seat. You turned around to smile back at her. She just kind of gave you a look. One of being unsure.

Vince happily got in the front seat and started the car again, “Okay, how does ice cream sound?”

“Yayy!” Skylar cheered.

You smiled, “That’d be great, babe.”

Once the three of you arrived at the ice cream shop, you immediately went to the front counter to order. Once you got your ice cream, you all sat down by the window.

“So, Sky, this is Y/n. My girlfriend.” He explained slowly so that she’d understand.

“Girlfriend?” She asked.

Vince hummed in response.

She didn’t respond after that. You let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding as you mindlessly messed with your ice cream with the spoon.

After a rather less than eventful day out, Vince took her home with you guys. Mainly because he needed to ask what was wrong, since she’d been so quiet.

“Skylar, honey, can you tell me what’s wrong?” He asked gently, sitting on the couch next to her. You distanced yourself, not wanting to intrude.

“Y/n.” She said and you understood, because the poor girl must be heartbroken to see her parents split and then her dad to be with another woman? Yeah, that’d make you sad too.

“What about Y/n?” He asked.

“I already have a mom! I don’t need another one!” She cried. Your heart sank.

The blonde hugged her in his arms, gently soothing her.

Later that night you couldn’t sleep, and heard noise from Skylars room. You got up and walked to the door, and pressed your ear against it. You heard cries. And motherly instincts you didn’t even know you had kicked in. You opened the door to see the girl in her little bed, crying. You immediately sat down and pulled her onto your lap.

“Hey, what’s wrong, babygirl?” You asked softly.

“T-the monster! It was gonna eat me!” She cried.

“Oh honey, did you have a bad dream? It’s okay, it’s just a dream, it’s not real. And it’s over now right?” You cooed, stroking her hair. She buried her face into the crook of your neck and you held her tightly.

After she calmed down, you tucked her back in and absentmindedly placed a kiss on her head. As soon as you started to leave she said, “Y/n…stay?” Two little words had you rushing to her side in an instant.

“Of course honey.” You crawled into bed with her, however much the little toddler sized bed would let you, and hugged her to your chest.

Vince woke up to use the bathroom and came back realizing you were gone. He furrowed his brows, his heart rate picking up. Had you left because you didn’t feel welcome anymore? However it was you’re guys’ shared home and he knew you wouldn’t up and leave without warning. He walked down the hall and saw that his daughters door was open, he walked in to see you cuddling with Skylar.

His heart melted. He turned around, went back to his room and grabbed a pillow and some blankets before walking back and setting himself up on the floor. You hand was hanging from the bed, so he gently grabbed it. He sighed soundly and slowly closed his eyes. Having his two favorite girls right there with him.
