Had a friend a couple months back awkwardly address my discord profile picture (at the time it was art of my mlp-sona) with "I wasn't gonna mention it..." while heavily implying that for my sake he didn't wanna say anything. As though having it as a pfp was some embarrassing mistake. This morning I was talking to my mom about the Tinker Bell lore and how intricate it all is (me and my best friend are nostalgia-binging the movies right now, and very much enjoying it) and she laughed, and in a similar tone to my friend all those months ago, said "I feel like you two are watching things below your intelligence" as if what we entertain ourselves with is supposed to challenge us in some way. As if we aren't allowed to just have fun.

I can't express to you how happy I was when "cringe culture is dead" started making the rounds on this site, but it still sucks when people in real life do this crap :/
