A/N: Broly's past may not be fully correct here, but this is an AU so… it’s whatever I guess! Also, screw Paragus, he's a douche and I'm glad Frieza killed him. Sorry Paragus fans. Anyways, enjoy!

P.S: The Reader is a fictional species I made called 'the Eraton', who are pretty much a Saiyan just with the ability to become a salamander instead of an ape. They also look kinda like Frieza's race because of their tail and whatnot.

Female-Alien! Reader ; Raising Broly Until Paragus Arrived

🗡️ As the last remaining member of your species, the Eratons, you had an extreme amount of survival instincts, which did help your survived the numerous amount of beats that lived on this planet, such as the Vampa Beetles

🗡️ Because of the lack of speakers, you were shocked to hear someone talking

🗡️ It sounded like a young boy, but you had no children, due to there being no one to procreate with. He must either be traveling with his family, so he'd possibly be a Namekian, or he was just lost, how sad

🗡️ You could hear small sniffs and coughs, and you just sighed and jumped up from your front door of your home, which was dug into the side of one of the larger craters on this planet. Afterwards, you wrapped your thick cape behind you, which protected your skin from the chemicals to your tail's skin that littered around your home to protect you

🗡️ You caught sight of smoke, probably from a crashed pod, and began heading towards it

🗡️ Thankfully, your kind had amazing hearing, smell, and sight through this damned air

" H-hello? "

🗡️ Stepping out of the fog, you noticed that the boy was carrying something, so you sent your long tail and grabbed it, before checking it and just handing it back to the confused-yet-stoic looking boy

🗡️ You looked over him and saw that he had a ape's tail. So he was a Saiyan, interesting. You hadn't seen any for years

" Saiyan-boy, what is your name? " " Broly… I think… " " Well then, Broly. Where is your father or mother? " " I'm not sure. "

🗡️ Sighing in annoyance, the sound of water moving slightly and pointy claw-like feet hitting the ground made your eyes widen and caused you to lunge at the boy, grabbing him and sending a large attack towards the Vampa Beetle, causing it to burst and die

🗡️ Looking down at the young Saiyan, you saw that he looked slightly beat-up, how saddening

" How did you get those injuries, Broly? " " I looked at that moon, and then I remembered darkness before seeing a beaten land. "

🗡️ Humming as you thought of the risks of keeping a Saiyan within your home, you looked around and into the sky, seeing that the moon had faded away. So, once you saw that he was nervous himself, you offered your hand

🗡️ Broly looked at you in shock. You were willing to take him in?

" C'mon, I don’t have all day. Who knows if those damned beetles wanna get revenge for the death of their comrade. "

🗡️ Nodding and holding his hands up to you in a grabby-pose, you groaned and leaned down to grip underneath his arms, before lifting him up and sitting him on your forearm while your other wrapped up his back with your hand laying behind his head

" Hold on, kiddo. "

🗡️ After a few days of him staying with you on Planet Vampa, Broly showed signs of extreme power, which proved useful with living on this horrible planet

🗡️ Hunting those beetles became easier with his help. And since he proved a good amount of bravery, you decided to have him come by and meet one of your only allies on this planet

🗡️ Broly smiled and laughed as he sat on your shoulders, the only sounds being his giggles, your footsteps, the light wind, and slight water movement

🗡️ You had mentioned the day before that you had a surprise for him, and he was beyond amped up to find out what his mother was hiding from him. Maybe it was a new kind of food!

" Alright Broly, we’re here. "

🗡️ His giggles subsided as you picked him up and allowed him to hold onto your arm before dropping to the ground with amazing form

" Stay here while I go grab their attention, okay? " " Okay, Mom! "

🗡️ You stepped away and got closer to the water before clearing your throat and yelling the beast's name at full-throttle

" Ba! Come out! I have someone you should meet! "

🗡️ The waters moved suddenly as Broly ran up to you and hugged your legs for dear life in an attempt to protect you

🗡️ A large green and fluffy beast erupted from the water-hole around you, before roaring and looking down at you with a large smile plastered on it's rounded-out face

🗡️ You smiled gently and  motioned for Broly to step out from behind you, and seeing that the beast posed no threat to you or himself, the young Saiyan looked up at the large worm-like monster and he raised his hand as a sign of him not willing to harm him

" Broly, this is Ba. Ba, this is Broly. "

🗡️ Ba leaned his head down and Broly caught the scent of Vampa Beetles on his breath, making him smile and motion for you to pick him up, which you did and laid him on your shoulders so he could pet Ba

🗡️ This was definitely the start of something beautiful in your book

" Mom! I found this guy outside! He said he was my Father! Isn't that cool? Dad's here! " " Your father? Let me see. "

🗡️ Broly smiled and dragged you outside with him, which is when you came across another crashed pod, this one just a mile or so away from Broly's, and the way this guy looked made your suspicions raise

🗡️ He looked kind but you could see that in his eyes he was hiding something big

" Dad! This is the lady I was talking about! She raised me and taught me how to hunt and everything! " " Is that right…? How… lovely. "

🗡️ You narrowed your eyes as you caught a shine behind this man's back

" My name is Paragus of the Saiyan Race. It is quite a pleasure to meet you…? " " Y/N L/N of the now deceased Eraton Race. "

🗡️ Paragus nodded and shook your hand, before looking down at Broly and patting his head. He then looked at you and saw how your amphibian-tail stayed still, occasionally whipping behind you whenever he laid a hand near or on his son

🗡️ This guy was far from pure good news

🗡️ He had seen where Ba lived, and he was seemingly annoyed with the fact that his son had two sparring partners. As a Saiyan, they're known for being prideful and fairly arrogant, so why were you shocked?

🗡️ Well, seeing him hold up a beetle's sharp end of their leg to your back said enough on why you were shocked

" I don't understand how you could make my son so damn soft while living on this wasteland! " " He's a young boy, Paragus! Being carefree and young is what a child does best! " " Shut up! My son doesn't need someone like you raising him. He needs his father, not some soft-spoken, Frieza-like buffoon. " " Dad? What are you doing? " " What's best for you. "

🗡️ Lifting the sharp ligament, Paragus thrashed it downwards as you yelled for Broly to look away, he had already cut off Ba's one ear and now he was going to kill you… the boy didn't need that kind of grief

" Your Father killed her? But why…? " " He deemed her far too weak to raise me into a fitting warrior. " " How absurd. " " How disgusting! "

🗡️ The Saiyan looked at the green-skinned and orange-skinned warriors and sighed, his chest moving up and down with his breath

" I have only one thing left of her now. " " That being? " " This. "

🗡️ Moving his large black mass of hair back behind his ear, a small cling of glass hitting metal came through the air and into the ears of his friends

🗡️ There hanging from his ear was an earring. It was rectangular with a liquid-like-dust inside of it, which made the two awe while it shimmered in the light that came from the passing stars

" An earring? "

🗡️ He nodded and began saying how much it was worn, it would never come off until the day that he watched the familiar yellow blood hit the ground and cover his father's boots

" Wait! Isn't that earring yellow? " " It is. " " Woah! Is it like her ashes or something? " " You're right. My father burned her body and put it in a container that she had. There she stayed until I found a way to put the ashes in this. She's been here for years now. "

Cheelai wants to find the seven Dragon Balls to make a wish: to make Broly a child again for a week. But how nice it would be to have a baby Broly 😩💚💚💚💖 already Cheelai imagines the little Saiyan of the legend calling her "mom" but in reality she wants to teach him everything he couldn't learn from his father. Lemo is disappointed believing that the girl only wanted to use the desire to practice how to raise a child in case she and Broly want one🤭

“sweetheart, i have to work today. its only for a couple hours.” you reassure, scratching his head. he grabs you by your wrist, eyes frowning but soft.

“you come back?” he asks, fear lacing his face and heart. it shatters your own, but you smile and kiss his forehead.

Every time I talk to a DB fan who doesn't know or doesn't agree that the whole franchise is an adventure comedy first and an action series second I feel insane but then I find an old Toriyama interview,

You made some comedic scenes where you have minor villains Pilaf & co. appear; how did you come up with a balance between laughs and fierce battles? Do you pay attention to the difference between comedy and battle in making a work “entertaining”?

I believe that, when you combine comedy and serious battles, both of them might come alive even more. As for me personally, though, I much prefer drawing dumb jokes to battle scenes.

as a bonus, every time I'm like 'idk I didn't really like most of the DBZ movies prior to Yo Son Goku and Friends Return and BotG,' and get the 'whAAaaT they're so gOOD' (from my brother, tbh askdjs) but they all seemed really Action-Drama and About the Fight Scenes and I'm like 'meh kinda boring tbh' I get to gaze upon,

In the latest movie, Toriyama-san, you participated in the production from the scriptwriting stage for the first time. What is the reason for that? Was there anything you noticed in coming face-to-face with the work after so long?

I was told about a project for Dragon Ball in its first animated film in a long while, and I read the story outline; while the beings “Beerus, God of Destruction” and “Super Saiyan God” (which goes above Super Saiyan) were interesting, the themes were heavy, and I felt that the world was a bit different from Dragon Ball. Rather than telling them about this or that problematic spot, I thought it would be faster if I just wrote it out concretely, and while I had intended just to give them a model―”for example”―my hand wouldn’t stop, and ultimately, I ended up writing almost everything, including the dialogue. I am reflecting on the fact that I did something terribly rude to the scriptwriter.

When ranking a Dragon Ball movie, I use the four Cs method

Listed in order of importance:

Characters (how much I like everybody in the movie + their dynamics. This includes heros and villains)

Coolness (how're the fight scenes? How hyped am I? Am I going to be quoting it until the day I die?)

Concept (Is something new and fun introduced? Or are they just gonna reveal some new space dickhead/Frieza is back and the solution is 'Punch Harder')

Coherency (does it make sense? Does previous DB lore back it up?)

So for instance, a movie that is very cool and fun to see (subjective) with characters I like to watch do stuff but that makes no sense literally at all will rank higher than a movie with a well-put together plot but with characters I've seen do shit all the time

It's why I have a fondness for Bio-Broly even though it sucks. I like when background characters get to fuck around and I think the idea of a fucked up Broly clone rules.

Concept basically measures 'is this just a worse version of a canon arc?' eg Cooler, Android 13, Tree of Might, that one DB movie I can't remember but also ends in the panty wish; else it measures how many times has dragon ball done this before, like 'there is a guy from space and he is strong' like Broly's Return

broly having sensory issues so he doesnt wear necklaces because of his past, and also not wearing certain shirts because it makes him itchy.

so he usually walks around the house with no shirt on because he freaks when he feels a certain fabric on him. :(

or even he also has a hard time understanding things still, like he knows how to operate a shower. but, he doesnt know how to work a washer or tub. he also doesnt know how certain things can work (technological advances)

he also doesnt understand why eating with utensils, he finds it better to eat with his hands :(.

you give him all your grace because he grew up on such a planet and his father basically fucked him up, so he doesnt have to (at least, you dont force him) know everything.

he also doesn’t speak very much, only getting verbal when he needs to tell you something.

“i would like for you to keep this.” he mumbles, a palm out with a rock in his palm. “ i found it approximately two days ago and it looked pretty like you.” he doesn’t understand the words of pretty in relationship terms, but pretty is pretty.

you feel your heart drop, squeeze, clench, and shatter.

“d’aw– broly has a crush!” kakarot exclaims, eyes widened when he looks at the rock. “i knew it!”

and poor broly is just confused, because he doesn’t understand what the hell a crush is.
