Another chapter complete. This was taken yesterday. These two peas in a pod got to sneak off early and miss their last day of school, so technically this was their last day of 7th and 5th grade. As I saw them walk off towards school I couldn't help but want to capture the moment. Life is a blur. The days seem to run into another and before you know it you no longer have tiny ones in your home. You wonder where has the time gone? And although you may many wonderful memories impregnated in your mind and heart, they never seem enough. My heart and my eyes swelled as I watched them leave me knowing that would be the last time I will see them for a while. They would be traveling to see our extended family in Florida. It was a sorrowful moment for me indeed and not just because I would feel the vacancy they would be leaving in the immediate future but for what I know to be facing very soon with their older sister and what the eminent future will bring as far as they are concerned. It's the sorrow of something lost even though you keep gaining so much more continually. It's the melancholy in me seeing how finite and fragile and short our lives truly are. As much of a mournful mess I was yesterday morning, in my heart I know not to linger on what has been lost, but to live in the present, and remain hopeful of what lies in store because the best is yet to come.
