Muhammad Hashim Premji founded Western Indian Products Ltd. in 1945. It produced soap with the brand name 787 and cooking oil with the name Sunflower Vanaspati. Wipro used to deal in hydrogenated oil, but Azim Premji later expanded the business to include hair care, lighting goods, baby toiletries, baking fats, and toiletries.
