Today, we'll be talking about (drumroll please)
Asparagus.
Not the popular western kind, mind you, though those are probably good for you too- this is its Eastern cousin which looks a bit shorter and shrubbier. Obligatory drawing below-
Tumblr media
(I actually got the leaf pattern wrong here, because my reference image was inaccurate. Note to self and to the readers- check your sources, always.)
This plant is called Shatavari in India, and the roots are touted as a cureall for any female hormone-related problem. Hair falling out? Take a spoonful of Shatavari powder. Irregular periods? Shatavari again. Infertility issues? You guessed it, Shatavari. (This might be due to phytoestrogens present in the plant, though research is still ongoing.)
I found a full list of things it can help to cure or ease the symptoms of online- menopause, dysentery, chronic fever, hematemesis, rheimatism, kidney issues, herpes, stiff joints and neck, low lactation, also cancer and AIDS. If the above list sounded suspicious to you, then you're not alone lmao. These medicines are usually used along with allopathy, after clearing them with your doctor for any contraindications. Never, and I repeat never, rely on Ayurveda alone, and always trust your allopathic doctor more than any Ayurvedic one. (Not to say that I haven't taken any Shatavari powder while being completely healthy just for the good hair benefits. But if you're on meds, always be extremely cautious.)
Rather than relying on Ayurvedic powders and tonics, it's safer to consume the actual plant. So if you're suffering from bad periods or hair loss, maybe try adding some asparagus in your diet and see if it helps.
Anyways, that's all for today! I'll post plants for this entire week, and see if I can't get back onto a daily schedule.

AYUSH MEDICINES: Magic or Logic (2024)
Magic is the use of supernatural forces to create effects that defy natural laws and evoke a sense of wonder.
Magic is an effective use of laws of physics to create illusion and virtual reality to make people believe things that they can't imagine under normal circumstances with common sense.
Tumblr media
Many a times due to scientific shortcuts and lack of wisdom or vested intentions, traditional practices are termed Magics.
AYUSH medicines, which include Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, are sometimes colloquially referred to as "magic remedies" because of their holistic approach to health, centuries-old practices, and the perceived "miraculous" benefits they offer in managing various ailments by the abusers and consortium of evidence based practitioners. This label is often rooted due to popular perception rather than clinical evidence, reflecting how traditional healing systems are seen to work gently and naturally, sometimes achieving results where conventional treatments may fall short. And surprise at most times evoke doubts.
Hence, the term "magic remedies" can be misleading, as AYUSH therapies are grounded in specific philosophical and medicinal principles, and not in supernatural effects. The label sometimes diminishes the scientific foundations and the extensive yet unfortunately undocumented traditional knowledge that backs these systems. The Indian government, through the Ministry of AYUSH, has been promoting scientific research and clinical validation to establish the efficacy of AYUSH therapies more formally.
The term "magic remedies" has not been historically attributed to Ayurvedic medicines by any specific person. However, the phrase gained legal significance in India through the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, which regulates advertisements claiming miraculous cures in Allopathic, Ayurvedic, and other traditional medicines to prevent misleading claims. The act used "magic remedies" broadly to address exaggerated claims rather than any official or scientific designation of Ayurvedic or traditional medicines as magical.
Few examples of companies that faced action for violating the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act in India:
(2016): Company XX was scrutinized for promoting certain products with exaggerated health claims, including remedies for diabetes, blood pressure, and joint pain. The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) flagged multiple ads for making unsubstantiated claims, leading to corrective actions.
YY Ayurveda (2021): YY faced legal issues when its advertisements claimed their products could effectively "cure" serious conditions like diabetes and hypertension. The claims were deemed misleading as they lacked scientific validation.
ZZZZ: Known for producing traditional Ayurvedic products, ZZZZ received warnings for advertisements that overstated the effects of some formulations, including claims to cure serious illnesses, violating the Magic Remedies Act.
These cases emphasize the importance of responsible advertising and adherence to regulations in the AYUSH sector.
Let's understand what specific issues that require tightening of administration.
(2020): AAAA promoted Proxozeen as a COVID-19 "cure" without sufficient scientific evidence. The claim received widespread criticism, leading to government intervention. Authorities required AAAA to revise its labeling and advertise Proxozeen as an immunity booster instead of a cure for COVID-19.
YY Ayurveda Diabetes Cure Claim: YY Ayurveda advertised certain products as a permanent cure for diabetes, without clinical support for the claim. This led the ASCI to issue a warning, highlighting that such ads could mislead patients into abandoning conventional treatment for diabetes management.
ZZZZ's Anti-Asthma and Cancer Treatment Claims: ZZZZ faced scrutiny for ads claiming that certain products could treat asthma and even cancer effectively. These advertisements lacked clinical evidence and were flagged for making unverified promises about serious health conditions.
These examples underscore the importance of evidence-based products and communication with adherence to introductory regulatory standards in licensing AYUSH products responsibly.
To avoid being tagged as "magic remedies," companies manufacturing AYUSH products should:
Follow Scientific Validation: Invest in clinical trials and scientific research to validate claims with evidence-based outcomes at product introduction.
Tumblr media
Comply with Regulations: Adhere to guidelines set by regulatory authorities like the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 and the Ministry of AYUSH, avoiding exaggerated or misleading health claims.
Use Transparent Marketing: Focus on educational marketing that clearly explains the benefits based on evidence based traditional knowledge and scientific support rather than promising "miraculous" cures.
Label Responsibly: Ensure product labels and advertisements are accurate, emphasizing well-supported benefits and safe usage without overstated promises.
Engage in Certification: Obtain quality certifications (like WHO standard GMP or ISO) to build credibility and consumer trust, emphasizing safety and efficacy.
By maintaining these standards, both AYUSH and its companies can promote products responsibly and enhance public trust in traditional medicine.
There's no shortcuts to success. Ayurvedic companies should not be excused for proper documentation and compliance at product introduction in local markets under Ministry of AYUSH. The companies continue to struggle with the followings even in 2024:
Traditional Knowledge vs. Modern Documentation: Many Ayurvedic formulations are based on traditional recipes without modern validation processes, which may not align with the rigorous documentation standards required for modern healthcare. This results in gaps when substantiating claims with scientific evidence, as traditional practices focus more on holistic benefits than specific, measurable outcomes.
Cost and Complexity of Research: Conducting clinical trials, maintaining strict quality control, and complying with documentation standards require significant investment. Many smaller companies lack the resources to conduct such trials, leading them to bypass extensive documentation to reduce costs. Govt. should come up with a policy to support if the innovation is unique as per committee validation.
Tumblr media
Limited Regulatory Oversight: Although the Ministry of AYUSH has set regulatory guidelines (scope for improvement remains and that's an ongoing process), the enforcement of these standards is inconsistent across states. Inspections and audits are often irregular, and smaller companies can sometimes operate without comprehensive scrutiny. This lack of strict oversight allows some companies to launch products with minimal compliance (this needs a strict stoppage).
Lack of Penalties and Follow-Through: The penalties for non-compliance are often not substantial enough to deter companies from cutting corners. The Ministry of AYUSH and local regulators sometimes lack the resources or coordination to impose effective penalties, especially in cases of misleading advertisements or low-quality production practices.
To strengthen the system, the Ministry of AYUSH will come up with stricter compliance checks and enforcements, increase penalties for violations, and improve collaboration with state-level authorities for more consistent oversight. Additionally, providing grand subsidies or incentives for scientific research on AYUSH formulations could encourage companies to invest in proper documentation and clinical validation.
Global Red Flags is a regular phenomenon by multiple countries across developed world makes manufacturers decategorize products to expand global presence and that's mostly because the complex regulation of traditional medicines across different countries. That is largely due to multiple factors, with no single party solely to blame.
Historical and Cultural Variability: Each country has its own historical and cultural ties to traditional medicine, such as Ayurveda in India, Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, and Native American herbal practices in the U.S. These unique roots have led countries to develop independent regulatory standards based on local needs and beliefs rather than a unified global standard.
Lack of Global Regulatory Authority: The World Health Organization (WHO) provides guidance but lacks the power to enforce regulations globally. As a result, countries are free to adapt WHO recommendations to suit their own regulatory frameworks and health policies, leading to varied levels of regulation.
Scientific and Evidence Gaps: The limited availability of scientific research and clinical validation for many traditional medicines makes it difficult to develop global standards. Since evidence-based criteria differ across countries, regulators often rely on local practices and existing cultural acceptance when setting standards, which contributes to inconsistency.
Tumblr media
Political and Economic Interests: National interests often shape health regulations. Countries with strong traditional medicine markets may have looser regulatory frameworks to encourage domestic industry growth, while others impose stricter standards to protect their markets or healthcare systems. This variation reflects different political and economic agendas regarding traditional medicine.
Lack of Collaborative Mechanisms: Despite some efforts to promote international collaboration on traditional medicine, limited cross-border regulatory cooperation makes it challenging to achieve harmonized standards. Diverse legal and health priorities make consensus difficult, especially without formal frameworks for international regulatory alignment.
The varied regulation of traditional medicine is a result of historical, cultural, scientific, political, and organizational factors. Greater collaboration between countries, increased funding for scientific research, and a stronger role for organizations like WHO could help address these inconsistencies.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has made strides in acknowledging and integrating traditional medicine through initiatives like its Traditional Medicine Strategy (2014-2023) and the establishment of the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. However, WHO still faces challenges in effectively evaluating and standardizing traditional medicine globally:
Lack of Standardized Frameworks: Traditional medicine systems vary widely across cultures, with unique methodologies, terminologies, and diagnostic approaches. WHO lacks a unified framework to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and quality of these diverse practices, making it challenging to apply consistent global standards.
Limited Clinical Research and Evidence: Many traditional practices lack large-scale clinical trials or high-quality scientific evidence due to resource constraints or reliance on oral traditions. WHO's focus on evidence-based approaches makes it difficult to assess practices with minimal or culturally distinct documentation.
Tumblr media
Funding and Resources: The WHO’s resources are often prioritized for urgent global health issues, leaving limited funding for establishing an independent, robust wing dedicated solely to traditional medicine. This financial limitation affects the organization’s ability to research, standardize, and provide guidance on traditional medicines globally.
Regulatory Diversity and Legal Constraints: Different countries have varied regulatory requirements for traditional medicine. This diversity, combined with WHO's non-regulatory role, limits its ability to enforce guidelines, as WHO can only provide recommendations that countries may or may not adopt.
Balancing Cultural Sensitivity with Scientific Rigor: WHO must respect cultural practices while promoting scientifically validated health practices. Striking this balance is complex and can slow down efforts to create a dedicated wing with rigorous evaluation standards.
To address these gaps, WHO could benefit from increased funding, partnerships with research institutions, and collaboration with regulatory bodies worldwide. This would enhance its capacity to create a comprehensive framework for evaluating traditional medicine systems and foster global acceptance through evidence-based validation.
The Magic Remedy needs to be taken care of with Evidence based Documented approach at origin to ensure all innovations in the field of healthcare doesn't face Tragic Localised Fate.

How Ayurveda Addresses Thyroiditis: Lifestyle and Herbs
Tumblr media
Thyroiditis is an inflammation of the thyroid gland, which can lead to various thyroid disorders, including hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. This condition can affect anyone, but it's often seen in women and can lead to symptoms like fatigue, weight gain or loss, and mood swings. The Ayurvedic approach, as practiced at the Ayurvedic treatment center in Prayagraj, views thyroiditis as an imbalance in the body’s energies, offering natural remedies to restore harmony.
What Is Thyroid?
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck, just below Adam's apple. It plays a crucial role in the endocrine system by producing hormones that regulate metabolism, energy levels, growth, and development. The primary hormones produced by the thyroid are thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), which influence nearly every cell in the body. Proper thyroid function is essential for maintaining a healthy weight, mood, and overall well-being. Disorders of the thyroid, such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, can lead to various health issues, affecting both physical and mental health.
Is thyroid treatment possible with Ayurveda?
Yes, Ayurveda offers potential treatment options for thyroid conditions by focusing on dietary changes, herbal remedies, and lifestyle modifications. Ayurvedic hospital in Prayagraj aims to restore balance among the body’s doshas and reduce inflammation, promoting overall thyroid health. However, it should complement, not replace, conventional medical treatments.
Ayurveda and the Thyroid
Ayurveda, an ancient healing system, views thyroid disorders as imbalances in the body's doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Thyroiditis can cause hypothyroidism (low thyroid) or hyperthyroidism (high thyroid), affecting metabolism, energy, and mood.
How Can Ayurveda Help to Cure Thyroid?
Ayurveda supports thyroid health through lifestyle changes, herbs, and diet. Ashwagandha, Guggulu, and Kanchanar Guggulu are used to balance thyroid hormones. A balanced, warm diet, stress management (yoga, meditation), and sufficient sleep help restore hormonal balance. Panchkarma in Prayagraj provides a holistic, natural approach to managing thyroid issues alongside conventional treatment.
Thyroid Disorders
The thyroid is a small gland in the neck that regulates metabolism, growth, and energy production. When it malfunctions, it leads to thyroid disorders that affect various bodily functions.
Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid produces too little hormone. Common symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, and depression. It can be caused by Hashimoto's thyroiditis, iodine deficiency, or certain medications.
Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism results from an overactive thyroid. Symptoms include rapid weight loss, anxiety, irritability, and a racing heart. Graves' disease is the most common cause, where the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid.
Thyroiditis
Thyroiditis refers to inflammation of the thyroid, which can cause temporary hyperthyroidism followed by hypothyroidism. It can result from viral infections, autoimmune diseases, or pregnancy-related changes (postpartum thyroiditis).
Goiter
Goiter is an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. It may develop due to iodine deficiency, hormonal imbalances, or thyroid nodules. A goiter can affect breathing or swallowing if it becomes large.
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid cancer is relatively rare but increasing in incidence. It often presents as a painless lump in the neck. Treatment typically involves surgery, radiation therapy, and hormone replacement therapy.
Cause And Treatment for Thyroid Disorder
Thyroid disorders, which include conditions like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism, arise from various causes that disrupt normal thyroid function. The thyroid gland, located in the neck, plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and overall hormonal balance.
Causes
Autoimmune Diseases: The most common cause is autoimmune conditions, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis (leading to hypothyroidism) and Graves' disease (leading to hyperthyroidism). In these cases, the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid.
Iodine Deficiency: Iodine is essential for thyroid hormone production. A deficiency can lead to an underactive thyroid and the development of goiter (enlargement of the thyroid).
Medications: Certain medications, such as lithium and amiodarone, can affect thyroid function, leading to disorders.
Radiation Exposure: Treatments for cancers or exposure to environmental radiation can damage the thyroid gland.
Genetic Factors: A family history of thyroid disease can increase the likelihood of developing a thyroid disorder.
Treatment
Treatment for thyroid disorders focuses on restoring balance to the body’s doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) through personalized therapies. The approach includes a combination of herbal remedies, Panchakarma therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
Herbal Remedies: Ayurvedic doctors prescribe herbs like Ashwagandha, Kanchanar Guggulu, and Guggulu to support thyroid function, reduce inflammation, and balance hormones.
Panchakarma: This detoxification therapy includes treatments like Abhyanga (oil massage) and Shirodhara (oil poured on the forehead) to cleanse the body, reduce stress, and restore metabolic balance.
Diet and Lifestyle: Patients are guided to follow a specific diet rich in whole, easily digestible foods and to avoid processed foods. Stress-reducing practices like yoga and meditation are emphasized to support hormonal balance.
Consultation with Naturopathy in Prayagraj is essential for effectively managing thyroid disorders, ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate treatment tailored to their specific needs.
Conclusion
Ayurveda offers valuable insights and effective strategies for managing thyroiditis through lifestyle changes and herbal remedies. By addressing the root causes of the condition and focusing on a holistic approach, individuals can work towards restoring balance in their bodies and enhancing their overall well-being. Embracing Ayurvedic principles can empower those affected by thyroiditis to take charge of their health, leading to a more vibrant and balanced life. As always, it is important to consult with an Ayurvedic doctor in Prayagraj when managing any health condition, ensuring a safe and effective treatment plan tailored to individual needs.

The Divine Benefits of Desi Cows: A Comprehensive Guide
In the rich tapestry of Indian culture, the cow holds a place of reverence and spiritual significance. Particularly, the Desi cow, native to India, is celebrated not just for its divine status but also for the multitude of benefits it offers to humans, animals, and the environment. This article delves into the profound advantages of Desi cows, contrasting them with exotic foreign breeds, and emphasizes why these gentle beings are integral to a healthy and prosperous life.
The Distinctive Features of Desi Cows
Outer Appearance and Sound Desi cows are easily recognizable by the distinctive hump on their backs, a trait absent in exotic foreign breeds. This hump is not just a physical feature but is believed to be a conduit of divine energy. Additionally, Desi cows possess a feathery, hanging neck and produce a sound that resonates with the sacred vibrations of “OM” and “Amba,” which are names of the divine. In stark contrast, foreign cows lack these features and are said to produce a harsh, unholy sound.
The Health Benefits of Desi Cow Products
A2 Milk: A Source of Vitality One of the most celebrated attributes of Desi cows is their A2 category milk, known for its superior health benefits. Unlike the A1 milk produced by foreign breeds, which has been linked to various health issues including cancer, Desi cow milk is a powerhouse of nutrition. It boosts immunity, sharpens the brain, and is a key ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. Products derived from this milk, such as curd, buttermilk, and ghee, are revered for their medicinal and nutritional values, aiding in the fight against diabetes and other chronic ailments.
The Magic of Gobar (Cow Dung) and Gaumutra (Cow Urine) Desi cow dung and urine are not merely byproducts but are considered sacred substances with exceptional medicinal properties. Cow dung is rich in minerals and is used to create organic fertilizers that enhance soil fertility and productivity. It is also known to cure liver damage and other ailments. Gaumutra, on the other hand, is hailed as a super medicine with anti-cancerous properties, playing a crucial role in organic farming as a natural pesticide and fertilizer.
Emotional and Spiritual Significance
The Emotional Bond of Desi Cows Desi cows are known for their deep emotional connections, especially with their calves. If a calf dies, a Desi cow may stop producing milk and refuse to eat or drink, showcasing its profound sensitivity. This emotional depth is believed to be transferred to those who consume its milk, fostering loyalty, respect, and duty towards elders and teachers. In contrast, foreign cows, which continue to produce milk even after the loss of a calf, are considered emotionally detached, and their milk is thought to impart similar traits to its consumers.
Spiritual Benefits and Eternal Bliss One of the many names of Lord Krishna is Gopal, meaning “one who cares for cows.” This connection highlights the spiritual importance of serving Gaumata (Mother Cow). Serving and caring for Desi cows is believed to bring health, wealth, prosperity, and eternal bliss. The sacred products of Desi cows, especially the Panchagavya (a blend of milk, curd, ghee, gobar, and gaumutra), are used in religious rituals and Yagyas (sacrificial rituals), believed to appease the 33 crore deities residing within the cow.
Environmental and Agricultural Benefits
Sustaining the Environment Desi cows play a pivotal role in maintaining environmental balance. Unlike other animals, they are said to inhale and exhale oxygen, purifying the air around them. Their dung and urine further contribute to environmental health by enriching the soil and promoting organic farming, which is crucial in an age dominated by chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
A Pillar of Organic Farming Desi cows are the backbone of sustainable agriculture. The organic fertilizers made from their dung and urine not only improve soil health but also ensure that the food produced is free from harmful chemicals. This approach is essential for building a strong, healthy nation.
The Healing Power of Cow Cuddling
Therapeutic Benefits In addition to their physical and spiritual offerings, Desi cows also provide emotional and psychological healing. Practices such as cow cuddling, which involves touching, hugging, and breathing alongside a cow, have been found to alleviate respiratory diseases, lower blood pressure, relieve spinal pain, and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. This ancient practice, once embraced by Lord Krishna himself, offers a natural remedy for the stresses of modern life.
Conclusion
Desi cows are not just animals; they are divine beings that contribute to the well-being of all creation. From their nourishing A2 milk to their emotionally rich nature, from their role in organic farming to their ability to heal and purify, Desi cows are an indispensable part of our lives. By recognizing and embracing the myriad benefits they offer, we can lead healthier, more prosperous lives and achieve a deeper connection with the divine.
Let us honor and protect these sacred creatures, as their well-being directly influences the well-being of humanity and the planet.

The Indian Fruit Phyllanthus Emblica (Amala) is an Immunity Enhancer and Anti-Obesity Agent: Prefect Fruit for Corona Era
Tumblr media
The Indian society has been reverent to nature since ancient times. We bow before mother nature like a God. We worship the sun which lights us up and illuminates the world and drives away all the darkness. We wake up in the morning, touch the earth because we get so much from it, necessary to support life. We worship Tulsi and Peepal because these give us oxygen for 24 hours and are also used in several Ayurvedic medicines. Phyllanthus embilica or Embelica officinalis, commonly known as Indian gooseberry or Amla has a superior therapeutic value in indigenous medicinal system, Ayurveda (Figure 1). The extracts from various parts of Embelica officinalis, especially fruit, contain various phytoconstituents like polyphenols (gallic acid, ellagic acid), different tannins, minerals, vitamins amino acids, fixed oils and flavonoids like rutin and quercetin. The extract or the powder of the fruit has curative effect against a variety of ailments like inflammation, cancer, osteoporosis, neurological disorders, hypertension and many others. These actions are attributed to either regulation of various molecular pathways involved in several pathophysiology or antioxidant property which prevents the damage of cellular compartments from oxidative stress. Amla keeps digestive system on right track and induces appetite. It strengthens the digestive system by converting calories in food stuffs into energy which has a direct bearing on obesity. The ingredients of Amla fight symptoms of fatty liver and high cholesterol and help reduce unwanted fat. Since ancient times, Amla (which is known as nectar fruit in India), is worshiped in India and it is said that 90% of the diseases of the body are cured by eating Amla in any of the forms viz. Morabba, Amla Candy, Chutney, Pickle etc. It is the main constituent of the general Ayurvedic tonic, Chyavanprash, a valued product of several Ayurvedic pharmacies.

How Ayurveda Can Combat Chronic Illnesses
Tumblr media
Ayurveda is a science that originated in India and has been practiced for thousands of years. It’s an ancient form of medicine that focuses on the wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. Many people turn to Ayurveda when they are looking for holistic healing from chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, COPD or chronic kidney disease because it offers natural remedies without side effects. In this blog post we will discuss how Ayurveda can be used to combat these diseases while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
What are chronic illnesses?
Chronic illnesses are long-term health problems that can last for months or years. Chronic diseases and conditions can include heart disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease (CKD), cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and more.
Most of the time, chronic illnesses are caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. They affect a variety of demographics and are treated in different ways. Some conditions are not able to be completely cured, but they can be managed to lower the impact of symptoms on your life.
There are many treatment options for chronic illnesses, some treatments include medication management and therapy while others involve surgery or other medical procedures. The good news is Ayurveda medicine has several ways of combating these issues at their core!
Ayurvedic view on chronic illnesses
According to Ayurvedic philosophy, chronic conditions are thought to be caused by long-term imbalances in the body. In Ayurveda medicine, one’s health is determined by three different doshas: vata (air), pitta (fire), and kapha (water). Balancing these doshas helps prevent illness from taking hold of the body.
In general, chronic diseases are often characterized by a lack of energy and exhaustion from the patient’s side. This is called Ama in Ayurveda medicine.
Ama occurs when toxins build up throughout the body because it cannot eliminate them as quickly as they’re building up due to certain lifestyle habits like a poor diet or lack of exercise.
There are several different types of toxins that build up in the body, and these correspond with particular doshas or mind-body types as per Ayurvedic medicine. For example, Kapha dosha is characterized by excess mucus buildup throughout the body.
Kapha generally feels sluggish and heavy, which can be a result of excess mucus in the body that slows down energy flow and movement throughout various organs like the heart, lungs, and kidneys. This is why Ayurveda medicine recommends practices such as yoga to help stimulate certain organ systems with more energy while also helping clear out excess mucus from the body.
Another example is Pitta dosha, which is associated with excess heat and irritation in the body that can lead to inflammation throughout certain organs. The lungs are particularly affected by this excess heat or fire energy, so Ayurvedic practices may recommend cooling foods like cucumbers and watermelon while avoiding spicy ones.
Some ways that Ayurveda can help with chronic conditions include:
Using foods to create balance in the body and maintain health, especially by balancing vata dosha, which is associated with all movement within the body such as breathing, heart rate, etc. Vata types need a lot of protein and fat or they could get anxious, depressed, or get memory loss.
Using oils in the body to build tissues and lubricate joints, which is beneficial for all types of conditions but especially arthritis.
Relaxing mind and body activities including yoga.
This holistic approach prioritizes natural remedies for restoring balance within the body, mind, and spirit. This includes herbal supplements as well as dietary changes that combat the symptoms and progression of chronic illnesses.
How Ayurveda combats chronic illnesses
In tandem with conventional medicine and treatments (dialysis helps patients with CKD function with kidney failure, for instance), Ayurveda focuses on treating the root cause of a disease, rather than suppressing symptoms.
Ayurvedic treatments have been shown to effectively treat cardiovascular diseases by including cardiac drugs in treatment plans that help lower cholesterol levels, increase HDL (or “good”) cholesterol, and lower triglycerides. Ayurveda also helps patients suffering from diabetes by focusing on dietetic changes, counseling patients to avoid alcohol consumption and maintain a healthy BMI (body mass index).
Ayurvedic medicine has been used for centuries in India, where it originated. It is now gaining traction around the world. While it may not be able to cure chronic conditions that have progressed into later stages, this practice of medicine can prevent early-stage chronic conditions from progressing. Ayurvedic practices may also be able to lower the need for medication in those who have been prescribed it. Ayurveda can help prevent chronic conditions from worsening, helping patients live a better life despite their condition.
The history of Ayurveda and chronic conditions
According to research, Ayurveda medicine has been used for over two thousand years, with its earliest mentions in the Vedas. Ayurveda medicine is based on three main principles: the three doshas, the five elements that comprise everything in existence, and a multi-step process of cleansing.
This practice is based on the idea that our bodies are composed of these six elements: ether, air, fire, water, earth, and space. These complexes make up every part of us from physical to mental states.
Ayurvedic practices can help treat chronic conditions by reducing symptoms and preventing further progression of the disease. The practice focuses on prevention rather than treatment-based care because it can lead to better long-term results.
Historically, patients with chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, and COPD would only receive palliative care. Palliation involves managing the patient’s symptoms without actually curing them of their condition. Patients with these types of conditions can be prescribed Ayurvedic supplements to help manage their diet and lifestyle changes that go along with their chronic illness.
The success of Ayurvedic medicine can be seen in the numbers. Over the last four decades, there has been a significant decrease in heart disease and diabetes mortality rates. In India, it is estimated that over half of all individuals with chronic illness can be treated through Ayurvedic medicine alone.

Reduces early signs of ageing:
One of the most important benefits of neem is its anti-ageing characteristics. It is known for reducing wrinkles, fine lines and also maintaining moisture levels.
Neem guards the skin against harmful UV radiation, pollution and other environmental causes because of its antioxidant capabilities. Vitamins and fatty acids present in neem help to retain skin suppleness and diminish wrinkles and fine lines. (Use pure neem oil and use neem based shampoo, cream and soap and take neem capsules or power internally)
Treats acne:
The antimicrobial qualities present in the neem help to reduce acne. It clears up outbreaks and also calms itchy skin. It can be trusted to treat acne because it includes ingredients that fight acne-causing germs.
The best part is that neem accomplishes all of this without causing your skin to become dry. One of the most effective remedies for acne scars is neem treatment. The anti-inflammatory properties of neem assist with hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.(use Native neem Acne pack for treating your acne)
Treats Head lice:
Neem oil has been shown to rid the body of head lice in three very important and distinct ways. First, Neem contains hormone mimics that interfere with the life cycle of parasites. Secondly, Neem inhibits the parasite’s ability to feed, giving rise to the term antifeedant. (use native neem head lice pack to treat head lice)
Prevents skin infections:
(use with pure neem oil and neem based product externally and take neem  leaf powder or capsules internally)
Purifies the blood:
(take neem capsules or Neem leaf powder regularly)
Neem for dry skin:
Neem products are often recommended with skincare and beautification routines to address dry skin and wrinkles. The antioxidants reduce the formation of melanin in your skin, which helps to cure your skin tone. It also helps to minimise your dark spots, dry skin and redness on the skin.
Neem for glowing skin:
Glowing skin is usually healthy and moisturised skin. Neem oil is useful for treating and preventing indications of ageing such as wrinkles and skin thinning.
Neem for clearing skin infections: Neem oil is the most used natural oil that is used to cure a variety of skin disorders including infections and acne. Apply a tiny amount of diluted neem oil to the affected skin as a spot therapy to get rid of skin infections.
Allow the oil to sink into the skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Through this neem medication, you can cure various skin infections like septic sores and infected burns. Boils, ulcers and eczema can also be treated with the help of neem oil and neem soap.
Neem for Eczema and dermatitis:
Neem oil is derived from the fruits and seeds of the neem plant, and it can potentially help with eczema symptoms. Research has shown that it may destroy free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, both of which drive the inflammatory process in conditions like eczema. (Use native neem Eczema pack and use neem based products)

Hi , the moon dominant post is amazing coming from a cancer stellium person😅( I'm a Saturn-ketu dominant) . The manipulation, alternative medicine, faking things etc to get attention is so true but when we see the root cause of these types of behaviours is mostly neglect in childhood or by partners . I did many of these things for example , like I didn't take medicine for any illness I used to only rely on ayurvedic medicine but if it's too serious only then I'd take em. Nowadays , I always remind myself that' ayurveda is for prevention not for cure '
I didn't try manipulation not at a very detrimental level but for petty things and also I used to see right through when someone is trying to manipulate me . Yes , I did fake certain things in my life to fit in . I used love attention , used to make every other conversation about me . Later , after a long emotional dysfunctional period of my life I started to see the root causes of all patterns and started working towards a more positive outlook of things . I still am hyperaware from all the past behavioural patterns and I try not to do those things .
I'm now more of a chill type , engaging other people to talk about themselves , not being afraid of confrontations ( in the past I used to escape these by manipulating or by twisting the narrative about what I said ), being open to different opinions on different topics and also taking care of my grandma also helped me on some level to think about things in a different perspective , etc
All of the behaviour patterns/ tendencies you've mentioned I guess are of underdeveloped moon dominants . I have moon dominant friends I see all the things that you've mentioned on a daily basis 😅 . Haha.
Also , the Saturn dom post so accurate we know what we are doing but try to test our chances and at the end there will ALWAYS be a major setback ( different forms of punishment ) . SO TRUE .
I love all your posts , I regularly check your blog for new posts and the anons stories regarding different manifestations of nakshatras . Lots of love and keep on posting girl🥰😍
I'm glad you've been able to take on a different perspective 🥺 we all suffer when we're unaware of ourselves and blind to our faults 😮‍💨
I'm happy to hear that you're doing well 🫶🏼
Awww 🥺tysm for your kind words🥰 I have some more interesting 👀posts coming out soon hehe
