New 'I'm in Love with the Villainess' Trailer Announces October 2 Premier, New Cast and Theme Revealed

On August 10, a second promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of isekai Yuri series I'm in Love with the Villainess (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou) was released. The trailer unveiled the series' October 2 premiere date and previewed the opening theme song, "Raise Y/Our Hands!!."

Main cast members Yuu Serizawa (Rae) and Karin Nanami (Claire) perform the opening theme, as well as the ending theme "O.C. Optimum Combination."

The trailer also announced new cast member joining Serizawa and Nanami, as follows:

I'm in Love with the Villainess is based on the series of the same name by Inori. Originally released as a webnovel on Shousetsuka ni Naro in 2018, the series was picked up by BL Bunko for digital publishing. It ran for five volumes, concluding in 2021. Hanagata illustrates the light novels.

A manga adaptation of I'm in Love with the Villainess began serialization in Comic Yuri Hime! in June of 2020. Aonoshimo illustrates the manga adaptation. Seven Seas licenses the manga, light novels, and the spin-off series She's So Cheeky for a Commoner in English.

I'm in Love with the Villainess is a popular series, especially with overseas consumers. It has been praised for its world building, characters, and emphasis on explicitly discussing LGBTQ+ identity and life.

The anime is set to premiere on October 2, 2023 and stream in internationally on Crunchyroll.

I was typing this up during that whole other thing people may have seen. I don't know what this list can tell anyone about me. It is funny to go over for me personally because a lot of the characterization stuff I like from Milgram can be found in most of these series. Which is proably why I have trouble actually picking favorites in regards to Milgram since all of the characters have traits I enjoy.

But yeah that's a little bit about me I guess. I do enjoy a lot of the characterization I see in Milgram. This is much more casual and generally being written up to give some idea of my likes. Though most of these are good watches, reads, or plays. Most are pretty well known but I would recommend Spiral since it's not that talked about in general.

I'M IN LOVE WITH THE VILLAINESS: LA ROMCOM YURI ISEKAI DIVENTERÀ UNA SERIE ANIMATA

Il nuovo anime targato Platinum Vision sbarcherà sulle tv giapponesi nel 2023.

Secondo annuncio della giornata! Anche qui si parla di romance, yuri fra l'altro e coinvolge lo sciogliere il cuoricino di una villain. Ottimo direi.

La casa editrice GL Bunko ha, infatti, svelato che "I'M IN LOVE WITH THE VILLAINESS" (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijo) ispirerà una serie animata programmata per il 2023, attualmente in lavorazione presso lo studio PLATINUM VISION (Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life, Love of Kill).

Le due protagoniste della commedia romantica, sono Rae Taylor e Claire Francois. Ad interpretarle nell'anime troviamo rispettivamente Karin Nanami (Meiya Mitsurugi in Muv-Luv Alternative) e Yu Serizawa (Shera L. Greenwood in How Not to Summon a Demon Lord).

A dirigere questa nuova parodia dei dating sim c'è Hideaki Oba (Love of Kill), mentre alla sceneggiatura troviamo Ayumu Hisao (Love of Kill, Devils' Line).

Il character design è quello di Youko Satou (7SEEDS, Saiyuki Reload Blast) e le musiche sono composte da Noriyuki Asakura, assieme a Usagi to Uma.

Si è solo appisolata davanti alla tv, ma non si sa come, l'impiegata Rei si risveglia magicamente nel corpo della protagonista del suo gioco otome preferito, Revolution. Con sua grande gioia, la prima persona ad accoglierla è anche il suo personaggio preferito, Claire Francois, l'antagonista principale della storia! Ora, Rei è decisa a sposare Claire invece dei protagonisti maschili del gioco. Come reagirà, però, la sua amata di fonte a questo corteggiamento totalmente fuori dagli schemi?

Anche in questo caso si parla di un'opera conclusa. La light novel scritta da Inori e illustrata da Hanagata, è stata infatti pubblicata in 5 volumi fra il 2018 e il 2021. Nello stesso anno è uscito anche uno spinoff in volume unico.

Dal 2020, invece, ne viene portata avanti una versione manga curata da Aono Shimo, giunta al 5° volumetto.

💖 - Are there any romantic relationships in your system?

There are! Several, even, thinking on it.

For the sake of this I should point out that for some reason, our system affects everyone's gender into being woman, as well as making everyone most comfortable with She/Her pronouns, just in case anyone else reading gets confused.

We have Benjamin Kirby Tennyson at age 16, and she's in a romantic relationship with the Fusionfall canon Blossom Utonium, also 16. I'm kind of surprised those two got together considering how different those two can be.

Our Mao Asakura is in a relationship with our Erza Maria, and the one person to be able to accurately translate all of Erza's sign and intentions to us, even if Erza isn't using sign.

Our Matsuzaka Satou is in a relationship in-system, but she's asked me not to divulge with who online, and I'll respect her request by not doing so.

And our Fujimori Ayumu is in a relationship with a girl called Mina. If I were to list everyone that has a relationship with someone in-system I could go on for hours and hours, so I'll leave it at Ayumu and Mina being sweet together. Ayumu will look up wasp pictures to save in folders for Mina to find later due to our shared memory not being great. It's adorable.

Personality

Ray is serious, diligent, and very organized. While still being reserved as it’s common for Ignihyde students to be, he stands out between them for the fact that he isn’t afraid to speak up and take control of situations, being very dedicated to his work of keeping the dorm functional. He usually comes off as very stoic and slightly morbid, which makes him a bit difficult to approach.

Speech Pattern

Generally not very formal, but still impersonal. "Boku" to refer to himself almost exclusively, last name with no honorifics for others. The Exceptions are Vil (“Vil-san”), and Idia and Rook (First name only). Talks differently to teachers, using "watashi" only to refer to himself and "-sensei" to them.

Background

Ray is the only child to an infamous lawyer in the Isle of Lamentation and a businessman she refuses to name. Due to having a bad relationship with Ray's father, Ray's mother has barred him from being too sociable from a young age, and pushed him to make work a priority. As a child, he was very quiet and shy, usually going along easily with whatever adults told him to do.

Because of having always been pushed to work hard, he discovered his Unique Magic rather early. String of Fate’s nature interested his mother, who would take him to work sometimes to test his abilities, but from witnessing a lot of terrible happenings as just a child because of it, Ray attempted to blind himself with scissors, causing the injury that makes him wear an eyepatch to this day.

Said injury made him spend quite some time in the hospital, followed up by a general health decline. His mother was disappointed and decided to no longer involve him in her work, though making it clear that he had until his high school graduation to make something out of himself, or he would no longer have her support.

Once he went back into regular school after healing from his injuries, Ray continued to maintain a solitary but diligent lifestyle, always staying on the top of his classes, which led to him getting accepted to study in Night Raven College. Knowing Idia Shroud would be in the same year as her son, his mother pushed him to make a connection, hoping that some sort of professional future would be secured for him, which motivated to put himself into his assistant-like role even before Idia became dorm leader.

Unique Magic

Ray's unique magic is called "String of Fate". It allows him to get flashes of images from the future, generally up to several hours ahead of him.

* Ray's favorite food comes from it being the first dish that was served to him at an Unbirthday Party, which had also been the first friendly gathering he'd ever been to.

* He's made most of his own clothes, including the eyepatches, which he owns multiples of. He also tailors his own uniforms to fit him better.

* Because of the partial blindness, he ends up being considerably clumsy and bumping onto things a lot.

* He has remarkably cold hands, and they’re never shaky unless he’s extremely nervous.

* He has a handful of admirers in school despite being generally considered too intimidating to approach, and is mostly oblivious to them.

* He can operate electrical circuits, which he learned with the intention of becoming useful within Ignihyde’s system.

* When he’s standing up, he’s always leaning slightly towards one side more than the other, so his legs are rarely straight.

Based on "The Doctor Is In" that appeared in the late Anime Addventure. Throughout the universe, there is ONE planet that is feared above all others, so feared that many civilized races are afraid to speak of this world's name, much less its remarkable inhabitants. The Oni have great reason to fear "They Who Must Never Be Named"; 270 years before the Tag Race with Earth, the Oni were nearly annihilated by the Children of the Forge after an invasion attempt that went awry. The greatest fear Redet Lum has is actually confronting a native of Yiziba, most of all the Trickster of the Show, Tuyuki, the face of the "Mother of All Fight Scenes" who was the darkest moment in Oni history. Little does she realize her "Darling" is in fact the newest incarnation of the Trickster of the Show...and is executing a plan started ten years before to seal off Earth from alien encroachment. The Oni and their allies soon realize that despite the power the people of Yiziba weld, their interest in Earth may actually be the best thing one could ever ask for. Especially when Lum remembers how Tariko Katabarbe (born Moroboshi Ataru) once saved her LIFE...!
