Aymeric LaPorta speaking about Sadui Arabia, Spain and his journey
MY REPLY to the article
I saw the AS article referred to LINK [ https://as.com/futbol/aymeric-laporte-hay-muchos-jugadores-descontentos-en-arabia-n/ ] ROUGH TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH [ https://as-com.translate.goog/futbol/aymeric-laporte-hay-muchos-jugadores-descontentos-en-arabia-n/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp ]
I quote the player in bold and reply in italic
It's a big change compared to Europe, but in the end it's all adaptation. They haven't made it easy for us. In fact, there are many players who are dissatisfied, but hey; We are working on it every day, negotiating so to speak, and seeing if it improves a little because this is something new for them too, having European players who already have a long career. Maybe they are not used to this and have to adapt to a little more seriousness.
This is a very vague statement. Does he want backrubs? If anything this proves that Saudi Arabia need to stay away from UEFA players. Stick to CAF + CnMeBol those two regions players are used to hard environments from their youth.
In every sense, but also in everyday life. Life for them… they take everything lightly. The ultimatum you can give them doesn't matter to them. I mean, they're really going about their business. You negotiate something and then they don't accept it after you have signed it. They fight you… It's a bit of a bummer that in Europe I don't know… Of course, the same thing that they take away from you in that they give you in other aspects.
More vagueness. He says the same they take from you they give in other ways, that is confusing.
I speak from my own experience and I don't know what others' experience is like. For my part, what I have seen is that they try to bring you in, but then there is the day to day life and that is different.
Well this is a muslim country, and a desert country, which is surrounded by wars and battles in all earnest. Israel and Yemen are exchanging blows, Saudi arabia is between them.
Yes, they take care of us, but not enough for my taste. That is to say, in Europe they pay you a good salary, but they take care of you much more.
Finally, we are getting somewhere, it isn't the money it is the backrubs. well ok, that to me isn't an argument. Most regions in the soccer world don't offer backrubs: most places in conmebol/Concacaf/afc/caf and the eastern side of UEFA tend to not offer backrubs either.
To be honest, many of us have also come here not only for football. Many of us are happy with that, but I am also looking for something beyond that is not the economic part and such. In terms of quality of life, I expected something different because in the end here you spend three hours a day in the car. Riyadh is a waste of traffic, of time wasted in the car.
He first said many are dissatisfied then he said many are happy:) But he is finally honest. He is looking for a little spain in Saudi Arabia, I could had helped, that ain't happenin:) The Saudi's are in no way interested in some little china's, little india's little Germanys' little Nigeria or whatever. Did he travel to Saudi arabia before he signed, that would had been smart?
It has very good points and many other bad ones. The shopping centers are truly spectacular. They take good care of the details, they have many things for the kids, everything is clean. But I already told you. If you have to go somewhere and you have to spend an hour and a half in the car, you don't even want to go there. Traffic is a negative point.
He is complaining about the traffic and maybe that they are not helping him past the traffic?:) players these days. HAve them deliver my friend.
Yes, I also live in a compound. The thing is that we are almost never here, because we play games every three days and it is exhausting. I would say it's more exhausting than boring. There are many games played and very close together, and that doesn't allow you to rest too much. Between that and then you go to the National Team and they don't give you days off and such, mentally and physically it is complicated, even if the pace is different or somewhat lower. It's something hard. We play the Cup, the Saudi League, the Asian Champions…
So now he is complaining of playing games every three days which happens in brazil. So his three big complaints is 1) living in a compound which is clean has all amenities 2) bad traffic which I will give him, Riyadh is growing and like NYC needs to widen but can't and so… 3) playing matches every three days which happens in brasil but maybe that is why he was so fit for the euros
I am giving a good level in Arabia, pushing myself to the maximum to reach the National Team in the best conditions to compete and show that I still have my position and that I hope it will be for many years.
So why couldn't others do that, the traffic?:)
Well, I'm going to leave it without comments.
That was his answer when speaking about Guardiola personally:) that is telling
I have a three-year contract here. There are details that I don't like here, as I said, and at a certain point it could be raised. At the moment, everything is very recent. It certainly won't be in the winter market.
Yes the details isn't the money or his home but, he wants no traffic, the ability to roam easily throughout Saudi arabia which is never gonna happen for a foreigner, and lastly not play every three days which I personally oppose, I like the brasilian way. IF you can't play, say I can't and another player will play .
IN CONCLUSION
His three arguments are for me not a big deal. One of his arguments is that he plays every three days but again, that happens in Brasil. Some FA's are serious, and I argue some UEFA players, thought with their senior years, they could put their feet up or have backrubs… they were wrong. As Neymar said [
ARTICLE
Aymeric Laporte reveals challenges of Saudi Pro League move: 'There are many players who are dissatisfied' From commute times to contracts going un-honored, Laporte didn't hold back on the challenges of his new soccer home By Chuck Booth Jan 20, 2024 at 12:49 pm ET Aymeric Laporte became the latest player to voice displeasure with his experience after moving to the Saudi Pro League on Friday in an interview with AS. LINK TRANSLATED Laporte joined Suadi Pro Leauge side Al-Nassr during the summer from Manchester City and has made 14 league appearances, registering two goals and one assist, but as the defender opened up on his experience of playing in Saudi Arabia, it shows that some of the promise of the Saudi Pro League isn't match the reality of players' day-to-day experiences.
From the demands of playing matches every three days to promises not being kept and spending three hours per day in the car, Laporte stopped short of saying that he'd like to exit Al-Nassr but did leave the option open if things don't change in the future.
"Let's see, you're fine… It's a big change compared to Europe, but in the end it's all adaptation. They haven't made it easy for us," Laporte said on how he's adjusting to life in Saudi Arabia. "In fact, there are many players who are dissatisfied, but hey; We are working on it every day, negotiating so to speak, and seeing if it improves a little because this is something new for them too, having European players who already have a long career. Maybe they are not used to this and have to adapt to a little more seriousness."
Coming on the heels of Jordan Henderson's exit to Ajax and Karim Benzema not reporting to camp with Al-Ittihad, two other players who arrived last summer as part of the league's unprecedented spending spree in Europe, it's clear that playing soccer in Saudi Arabia isn't what some players expected it to be. Laporte, however, is one of the first to go in-depth on some of the direct struggles that he faces in the country, even down to negotiations. which was an issue that Henderson faced as most of his salary was deferred. Even when it comes to contract provisions, Laporte said, "You negotiate something and then they don't accept it after you have signed it."
It's a reminder that Saudi Arabian soccer falls outside the auspices of UEFA in Europe and has more freedom to-self govern which can lead to contract are enforcement issues (not that players going unpaid is unheard of in Europe, of course). With clubs like Al-Nassr being owned by that Saudi Public Investment Fund, that only adds more intricacies to contracts. Despite currently playing his soccer with one of the biggest public supporters of the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo, Laporte acknowledged that in Europe athletes are better taken care of.
Does that means he's ready to follow Henderson's example and do an about face and leave the country six months after arriving. "No. Let's see. At the moment, I haven't thought about it, but if I'm disappointed in such a short time, you wonder what to do," Laporte said when asked if this would lead to his exit from Al-Nassr. "That moment has not yet arrived, but in the future, it could be if this dynamic continues."
When it comes to life in the city of Riyadh, Laporte went on that while the shopping and cleanliness of the city are exceptional, traffic makes it almost impossible to enjoy, due to needing to spend at least an hour and a half in the car. He had different expectations, but looking beyond the economic aspects, there is room for improvement for the Spanish international.
"The thing is that we are almost never [home], because we play games every three days and it is exhausting. I would say it's more exhausting than boring," Laporte said. "There are many games played and very close together, and that doesn't allow you to rest too much. Between that and then you go to the National Team and they don't give you days off and such, mentally and physically it is complicated, even if the pace is different or somewhat lower. It's something hard."
While playing multiple matches per week is something that is done around the world, the rest days in between are critical for recovery. Following the interview, Laporte did apologize for his statements during a live stream and said that he is happy in Saudi Arabia. Still. three makes a trend. And on the heels of Hnderson and Benzema, it's clear the Pro League is struggling to meet the promise of its spending.
Something will have to give as with more coming out about the experience in Saudi Arabia, recruitment of top athletes will become harder, but it feels like we're coming to a crossroads in the Saudi project to grow the league to become one of the best in the world. The league is still in competition with places like Major League Soccer, and while the American organization might have challenges of its own (and players coming from Europe frequently are in for a rude awakening when it comes to travel), it certainly has stable contract provisions for the same players and some of the amenities in larger cities they're used to. And of course the Pro League doesn't want to simply compete with the American destination. It's lofty goals including becoming one of the best leagues in the world. Things will need to improve for Saudi Arabia to continue its rapid pace attracting top athletes.

The sightseeing log states that Hidden Tear was a shrine for honoring the dead and having funeral ceremonies. Years ago I rejected that lore and declared it a shrine included in a traditional lovers' pilgrimage as well as the site of many historical weddings.
#rejecting & rewriting obscure lore is self-care sometimes#especially in gyr abania where 99% of things are about death#gods forbid there be a happy monument somewhere#anyway: i'm feeling soft today#emmer screens#alyx and aymeric#wolmeric#wol/aymeric#ayemric/wol#gyr abania#the peaks#also: re the lovers pilgrimage#i have so much of this lore#these two definitely did it as like a honeymoon trip#or something

Full Party Rumble
One does wonder if this is the side of effect of Alphi being gifted his Nouliths
Of course this mean there will be charges for protection.
Full party!!! Lets rumble!
You call this unarmed?! This is what Alphi works with. You know that I would be telling your kids that you're sufficiently badass enough to fight alongside me and the very badass alliance leaders yeah? We're only short of Varshahn and Lyse.
-----------------
My boss~~~~ <3
My bro.
Major!!!! Admiral!!
Two badasses and Aymeric going from one cold place to another. at least he gets to check in with Lucia. Don't mind me. I'm just standing here gawking at the rest of you like a fangirl. Trying not to get Grand melee Tizona PTSD flashback.
This thing looks familiar
Hey Alphi! Your dad be badass enough to keep up with Estinien and Arenvald
---------------- Nero is probably WAR or something. I took it as Raubahn and Ayemric being tanks, Kan-E Senna and Foruchenault were healers and the rest are physical and ranged DPS.
Of course Hylnyan went in as default BRD. I need to check targetting control, It tend to autoselect NPCs first and I have click through to enemies. Hazard of playing on gamepad? Dungeons are fine but instanced battle be like that.
Yeah essentially these folks are technically vetrens. The WoL herself, Hylnyan's been on the scene for like what three years?

do NOT look under here if you haven’t finished 6.1 or you haven’t done the new raid with the twelve!!
So i’m only JUST where we’re getting to see Nidhana about making an Atomos while learning about the Twelve and I have a few thoughts but FIRST OFF: the idea that Emet would know exactly what the Twelve are and what their identities are makes me think a lot about where this story is going. He said, specifically, that they have true identities. Doesn’t that mean they’re people? Or they used to be people? Were they Ancients that took the forms of gods? Like what Hermes did here??
you know????
I don’t know, i’m not done with it yet but geez i have so many questions
can i reunite the dragon siblings?? will i have a more solid theory on the Twelve??? how did Emet come to know their ‘ Identities ’????
and also i havent ever done a raid brand new so i didnt know you could only get 1 piece of gear a week..... couldnt get my healing top...................got a ayemric minion and boots tho!!!

Prim-AU - Thoughts
I am enjoying writing this AU. This has two parts. I’ll post the second part on it’s own as it is more smut filled and will stand alone.
Starts out sweet but the last half is what I write best. This one has some mild spots but nothing compared to what I am writing in continuation.
Kiya was getting stir crazy being on bedrest. She would thrash her tail when she was alone, and in Aymeric’s presence. The knight only gave her a weary smile before he had to go back to his office. Assuring her he would return throughout the day.
The fire in her had returned fierce, and Whitecape saw it as a good sign. She would be able to go home with Aymeric at the end of the day. She knows he is ecstatic to be able to have his beloved in their bed again. Kiya had put on the right amount of weight to be able to leave.
Kiya itched to adventure, but she will keep her promise to Aymeric, not to adventure for three years. Probably to rediscover their relationship more intimately. Aymeric holds onto her black mage soul crystal till he knows she can handle the responsibility again. At her request. Aymeric keeps it in his desk.
The aftermath of her return. There were many scared of her, but familiar faces and those that knew her, knew well that Kiya was no threat. Though now she is stepping down from her role as warrior of light with Divinity around.
Perhaps she should look at it as a blessing, given rest from everyones responsibilities. Till she can take on those roles again.
Kiya’s attention is drawn out at the sound of the doors to the infirmary opening. In walks Divinity, dressed more casual. The healer staff leaned up against the wall close to the door.
Kiya finally gets a better look at the woman. An elezen, stark white hair with almost a blue tint to it. Soft blue almost white eyes. A gentle face almost as gentle as Aymeric’s when she smiles at her.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” Divinity takes a seat next to the black mage. Kiya gives a simpered smile and looks at her hands. Aymeric had her dressed in soft clothes.
“Going mad. I can see why Estinien ran off..” She murmurs under her breath. She couldn’t leave anyway, let alone cast a spell.
“Estinien. Seems to do his own thing.” Divinity had only seen the dragoon scarce, she had bumped into him on the way here.
“Anyway, what brings you here?” Kiya changes subject. Estinien along with Aymeric gave her such a scolding, Kiya can still feel her ears against her head.
“Checking in, figuring you might want to see a friend, since the only company seems to be medical and your husband. A refreshing face in a woman.” Divinity earns a smile.
“Appreciated.” Kiya’s expression changes.
“Why did you save me though?” Kiya knows the honor bound code of the Scions.
“Because you did not summon the primal. That entity did. You were a catalyst. I couldn’t bring myself to kill you in a manner that was unnecessary. I could not stand to see your beloved so heartbroken either.” Divinity explains, Kiya lowers her gaze to her lap. Hearing how Aymeric was beside himself drew pangs of guilt into her heart.
“Thank you...” Kiya trails off, she feels that overwhelming kindness, when she looks at Divinity, the elezen woman is gentle in her presence.
“You remind me of my leader.” Divinity muses aloud.
“What?” Kiya locks eyes.
“Oh, my leader. I’ll tell you some stories. To ease your mind. You see. I am not from this world initially. I came here from another realm entirely. My home was anything but kind.” Divinity sees the shock from Kiya, and continues.
“My life only knew relentless persecution. Many people were burned at a stake for practicing medicine. I eventually was dragged and tied to the pyre. But I had made a friend, and she stayed with me to the end.” Divnity smiles wistfully.
“I had spent my years in the afterlife blind, and as a healer then. Healing lost souls brought to me by her. My leader, was the opposite of you. She her lover was used as a catalyst for a spell. Only he had died... I did not want to see the same thing happen here. You being eternally lost to the one who loves you unconditionally.” Divinity sees Kiya smile warm. She also gets an idea.
“Can you stand and walk around?” Divinity asks. Kiya nods, she has been able to walk and sort.
“Come with me! There is something you need to see.” Divinity promptly drags the miqo’te out of her bed confinement. Kiya adjusts the robes around her, and under Divinity’s help, they make for the door that Kiya is all too familiar in with Aymeric’s office. It was left wide open. He keeps the doors open in case there is updates or news of his wife. Divinity has Kiya peer quietly around the corner of the door.
Aymeric has his head resting against his hand as he signed papers, or wrote them. He had on his desk Kiya’s soul crystal, and his eyes would drift to it from time to time.
Kiya sees how soft Aymeric’s gaze is on a piece of her. She also notes how worn out he looked. Even wondering if he has slept at home at all.
“He only goes home from what I gathered, to bathe and change clothes. He spends his waking hours here. He will sometimes smile to himself, or he will sit there and pray for you.” Divinity’s voice is quiet as she speaks to Kiya, not raising her voice enough to be detected by him.
Kiya feels a sense of love in her heart, seeing the way her beloved has truly stayed by her side. She knows he doesn’t go home at night, he spends them with her.
Divinity sees the way Kiya stares at Aymeric, and slips back as Kiya crosses the path of the door. Aymeric looks up from his papers seeing his beloved in the doorway.
“Kiya? What are you doing up, My love?” Aymeric gets up and goes to her, his arms wrapping around her. Kiya presses her face into his torso.
“I wanted to see you.” Kiya feels his fingers thread through her hair. Kiya nuzzles her face into his abdomen where she reaches.
“You should be in bed still, but if you wanted to see me. I could have come to you.” He then remembers Saulette was taking the day from the Congregation watch. He tilts Kiya’s head back to look her in the eyes. Thumbing away a stray tear.
Kiya looks up more into his eyes, and sees how he is looking at her. That prideful full love stare he always holds for her. Endearing, and soft at the edges of his eyes. The full blue, dark hair that frames his face, the odd tufts. The soft smile that curls at the edges of his lips.
Kiya reaches her arms up, and Aymeric lowers himself down so she can wrap her arms at his neck. He stands with her, arms winding around her waist to hold her up. He feels her strength returned much to his liking. Kiya without hesitation or prompting, kisses him full. She doesn’t miss the surprise in his eyes, nor does he miss the soft in her green eyes.
Aymeric returns her kiss, full and deep. Wondering what came over his love to seek his affection first. Kiya pulls back from the kiss, and looks him in his eyes. Aymeric sees how her emerald green hues smolder at him, a look he is all too familiar with.
“Love me? Here?” Kiya requests, and Aymeric’s hands on her tighten a bit more. He sets her down seating her on his desk and goes to close the doors of his office. Locking them before he returns to her. She is a much relieved distraction from his reports.
Divinity had seen more than enough, and quietly walks off, she sees Whitecape wondering where Kiya went and informs him that Kiya is with Aymeric. The man sighs relief and knows his patient is in good hands.
Divinity retrieves her staff from the room, and makes to go on her adventure. She takes a look at one of the mirrors and can see a different face in it. One smiling at her and nodding.
“I had a feeling you were behind sparing her.” Divinity sees Kivera for the first time since she began her adventures in Eorzea.
“All I did was pardon her name. You did the real work. You learned from me, how a disaster doesn’t need to end in death. At least for you, it worked in your favor.” Kivera smiles solemnly.
Divinity knows all too well.
“Can you continue to watch over them? Make sure she is protected?” Divinity requests.
“Only because you ask me.”
“I’ll send you more of those Ishgardian tarts you like.”
“Deal.”
In Ayemrics office, Kiya feels nothing but absolute bliss with how he loves her on top of his desk. Papers scattered off, and Aymeric being tender with her. Kiya is wrapped well in his embrace, and Aymeric takes hold of her till she is a mess of emotions.
Aymeric had placed Kiya’s ring back onto her hand, and felt complete with his beloved under him again. Each adoration spilled from his lips. Their hands locked together and all Kiya can focus on, is how much she needed him. Aymeric must have felt her need with how hard she is clinging to him. Her limbs tangled with his to get closer.
Kiya in the middle of everything she does, reaches into Aymeric’s perfect hair and fully messes it up. Aymeric eyes her and even slows his movements seeing her do something entirely different. He only smiles, and does the same to her. His hands threading and ruffling her hair till it matches with how full blown messed she makes his hair.
Aymeric looks down at her through the messy bangs, and sees a look of triumph on Kiya’s face. He leans down and kisses her while tugging her more to him. Kiya feels more frustration in how perfect he looks, messed hair, lovely smoldering blue eyes mirroring her own heat as they’re connected intimately.
They look at each other, and Kiya starts laughing at how he looks with his hair sticking in different directions. Aymeric wonders how much she messed him up, he shakes his head and resumes his movements with her.
When they both have had enough and felt each other peak. Kiya is sitting in Aymeric’s lap, legs strewn against his sides while he had them both on his chair. His hands petting her head and back. Kiya’s face pressed to his chest, and panting from the high she was brought to.
“Feeling better?” He asks, tugging Kiya back to look him in the eyes.
“Much better. I feel complete almost.” Kiya sighs a little heavier. Aymeric lifts her hips enough to pull from her. Adjusting himself more comfortably with her on his lap, Kiya had stripped him of his clothes and they both bask in the afterglow.
“We should get dressed. As much as I want you naked every second of the day. We’re still in my office.” Aymeric coaxes her to put her robe back on, she just shrugs it off of herself earning him staring at her.
Kiya looks at him, and frowns a little at being made to wear clothes.
“A little longer like this? Please?” Kiya pleads, she was enjoying the skin to skin contact.
“Hmm... just a little longer.” He was easily persuaded. His hands roam her skin feeling how soft she has been getting again. She feels right in his arms.
“I should put more of that oil on your skin later.” He comments idly, Kiya pulls back a little to sit on his lap better. Aymeric glances down her front, and steels himself from wanting to take her again. He leans down to where her robe was tossed and starts to tug it around his beloved.
“Aymeric?” She draws his attention to her. He starts to tug on his own robes, the blue cloth shirt underneath till the collar fit against his neck just right. Aymeric places Kiya on his desk, while he dresses himself. Kiya fits the robe on her properly. Her thighs felt a little sore, from him. When Kiya got down from the desk, her legs almost give out on her.
Aymeric sees this and catches her, collecting her into his arms.
“I think you are having a little bit of a hard time standing.” He is amused.
“I think someone is responsible for that.” Kiya catches on, and earns him grinning at how much trouble she seems to be having staying upright.
“We should get you back to bed. I think by now Whitecape should be looking for you. We would not want for your stay in the infirmary extended because you wanted me.” Aymeric sees the fear on her face at the possibility of staying another night.
“I want to go home!” Kiya is met with a kiss a teasing one. He does it on purpose to remind her what awaits her at the end of the day. Aymeric lifts her and brings her back to the infirmary.
Whitecape was waiting for his patient to be returned to him. He shakes his head at the dishelved appearances of the two.
“I see she felt adventurous. Why not take her home earlier?” He grants permission, looking over Kiya once more till he was satisfied.
“I’d love to take her home.” Kiya is tugged back into Aymeric’s arms.
“Then get her home, but make sure she eats enough. She’s still a bit thin. I do think she aught to be able to get further care from you at home.” Whitecape explains, and Aymeric nods.
Kiya is carried to the bed and rested down. She looks over to Aymeric.
“Pray, allow me to clear the rest of my afternoon?” She nods and lets Aymeric go take care of things. Kiya waits, feeling relieved in how she feels. She doesn’t wait long for him, and Aymeric collects her into his arms and with her he takes her back home.
Kiya thinks to herself how lucky and blessed she truly is. While staring up at him as he walks with her in his arms out of the Congregation.

FFXIV Write Day 25: Shield
Day 25 of @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast‘s FFXIVWrite2019! Because there are so many ways I could have taken it but of COURSE I had to pick an awful one. Also never let me do one of those 5+1 style fics within a 24 hour deadline ever again.
Prompt 25: Trust
[1]
They were too foolish, too naive.
X’ondarya grimaced, fumbling with her grimoire as she searched for her spell. With her attention split between the disappearance of the other Scions and, she had to admit, the affability of their host in Camp Dragonhead, the possibility of a setup in the trial, such as it was, of Lord Francel had completely escaped her mind. She should have known better, but instead, they were completely unprepared for the ambush.
Finally finding the page, she closed her eyes, focusing on the structure of the aether around her, felt it begin to coalesce into that familiar pool that was her eldest carbuncle. Vaguely, someone—Thyra, maybe?—shouted her name, a warning, but she had to focus, had to finish the summoning before she could move—
A resounding clang of metal against metal, and then there was a presence at her back, steady, shielding. With an angry chirp, Sapphire materialized, leaping into the fray, leaving her free to turn around.
Her would-be attacker had been engaged by the knight at her back, silver hair gleaming as he thrust and parried. She focused, sending a blast of Ruin that connected squarely, the man dropping to the ground, unmoving.
Lord Haurchefant caught her eye, grinned at her. “Let us finish this!”
She nodded, turning back around and, with his solid presence at her back, rejoined the skirmish.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2]
As she let Alphinaud and Ser Aymeric discuss the details of the latter’s investigation into the heretics’ attacks, X’ondarya relaxed. Ordinarily, it was a conversation that she might have found most interesting, but since the battle against Shiva, they had had little time to unwind, driven by the need to ensure no time was lost on the various ongoing investigations, and a mental break was more than welcome.
Instead, she glanced over her friends, all of whom looked as tired as she felt. Though, true to form, that did not stop Thyra from apparently attempting to drill a hole into Alphinaud’s skull with the force of a most displeased glare alone.
Still, her smile as they were most cordially dismissed was polite at best, and she suppressed a sigh as she made her way out of the intercessory. There was still so much left to do, and the nets were weaving ever closer…
Belatedly, she realized that Lord Haurchefant had fallen in step beside her and, given the sympathy in his eyes, had heard her prolonged exhale. “A long day?”
“Day? Week? Something like that.” When he said nothing, she shook her head. “Forgive me. I shouldn’t complain. This is important and I am glad to be able to help as much as I can.”
“But it is still a lot to ask of one group of four, even as capable as you all are.” He paused and when she turned to face him, his expression was serious. “I hope you know that I will always help you as much as I can, and so will Ser Aymeric, at least outside of formal capabilities.”
She raised an eyebrow. “Is this your way of saying that we should have kept faith in Ser Aymeric from the start?”
“Perhaps in a manner of speaking. I did tell you as much from the beginning.”
At that, a genuine smile, her first in what felt like too long already, tugged at the corners of her lips. “That you did. Thank you.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3]
“Where to?”
She glanced over her friends. Eos and Thyra stood together, the former silently weeping while the latter only stared, motionless save for the hand gently rubbing Eos’ back. Shasha, meanwhile, was kept more than a little preoccupied by Alphinaud, who didn’t even seem to react to the question. Certainly none of them were in any state to answer, which meant…
“X’ondarya?”
Clearing her throat, she turned to face Cid. His eyes were sympathetic, but he knew just as well as she did that they couldn’t afford to deliberate or rest. That being discovered would put Marshal Tarupin’s own reputation at risk, as well as the safety of everyone else who had assisted them.
She bit her lip, and he gave her a small, encouraging smile. “Somewhere out of reach from the city-states, at least for the time being. Preferably where the Crystal Braves and the Syndicate have no jurisdiction.”
“You’re right.”
“Of course I am.”
She offered him a grin, though she suspected it looked no more real than it felt. Instead, she turned her mind towards the past weeks and their—her—camaraderie with one, ever-agreeable knight…
“Coerthas.” She nodded towards the airship. “Take us to Camp Dragonhead.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chaos had erupted in the Foundation.
She grit her teeth, forcing herself to put out of mind the buildings and civilians that were put at risk by the battle, and dodged another Flare. They could had time later to deal with the ramifications, but first…
First they had to stop Ser Charibert and his men.
Beside her, Hilda and Alphinaud fought beside Thyra, Shasha, and Eos, but they too were flagging against what felt like never-ending waves of soldiers. Then again, considering they were apparently going against the Holy See itself, she supposed she should have been expecting that.
A wave of semi-hysterical laughter threatened to bubble out of her chest. Chased out of the city-states of the Eorzean alliance only to find themselves going up against another governmental power. If things continued as they were, there would be nowhere the remaining Scions could safely stay. And this time, their actions had ramifications for the entirety of House Fortemps as well…
As if summoned by her thoughts, a shout caught her attention and she shook her hair out of her face to watch as two more soldiers appeared. Two very familiar soldiers…
She watched as Lucia plunged into the fighting without pause, slowly but surely gaining ground to stand beside Eos. Haurchefant, meanwhile, disappeared into the throng, and she turned her attention back to Ser Charibert himself, loosening another blast of Fester and watching as he turned his attention toward her.
Before she could move, a tall figure leapt in front of her, shield up to block the blow as he shook his silver hair out of his eyes and grinned at her. “This is beginning to seem all too familiar now, X’ondarya. Let me be your shield.”
In spite of the nerves still singing, she smiled back and prepared for another round. “Gladly.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[5]
“This is it.”
She turned to find that Haurchefant had maneuvered his way to her side, alongside Estinien, Ayemric, and the rest of their rescue party as they stared at the edge of the platform, where an airship waited for the Archbishop. Behind them, the doors to the Holy Vault lay open, forced through by their fighters, and battles forged down in the streets and along the sidewalks, spilling into the Foundations, but this far removed, it was quiet save for the sounds of Aymeric limped forward, pleading with Thordan, his father.
All to no avail.
She turned, catching his gaze with her own and nodding, once. It was all they needed. He knew, just as she knew, that it was pointless, that there was only one way to stop the madness before it got too far.
Pressing her lips together, she grabbed her grimoire and raced forward towards the Archbishop, Haurchefant, as ever, at her side.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She felt him stop first, attention torn from the Archbishop. A heartbeat later, she, too, stalled, instinct screaming a warning, driving her to turn, but it was already too late. He was sprinting, catching up with each step and slid to a stop before her, frantically twisting with his shield up and in position to intercept the spear headed straight towards her.
In the distance, her friends ran forward, but they were all too far away to stop its trajectory, aimed directly at her. Or, at least, it would have been if not for…
The moment it struck the shield, she knew it wouldn’t be enough. Helpless, she watched as he braced himself, holding it back through sheer force of will. And still the spear pulsed, brimming with energy, and she could feel it cutting through the metal, slowly but inexorably forcing its way through toward its destination, towards her.
Except not.
As the spear found its victim, she screamed.

CITY MOVE THROUGH TO FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL STAGE WITH PETERBOROUGH WIN
Manchester City’s bid to win three major trophies continues unabated thanks to a 2-0 win over Peterborough in the FA Cup.
City quality told in the end, says Guardiola
MEN'S TEAM
In a hard-fought fifth-round tie at London Road, the Championship side kept City at bay in the first half, with our play often disjointed and lacking rhythm.
But Riyad Mahrez produced a moment of quality to fire past Steven Benda and break the deadlock with an hour gone, before Phil Foden’s outrageous long-range pass set up Jack Grealish to score a second seven minutes later.
Joao Cancelo, Foden and Grealish all had chances to extend our lead but Peterborough stood firm, before Ayemric Laporte miscued from close range in added time.
With City top of the Premier League table and still in the UEFA Champions League, we retain an interest in three competitions with three months of the season remaining.
A fascinating end to the campaign beckons.

002 Artoirel for the ask meme!
omg yes !
Artoirel de Fortemp ~
How I feel about this character:I adore him. I thought he was just gonna be a boring side character but I am soooo happy that he got some major attention. One of my favortie parts of the game was gonig into the vault with him and a whole army of npcs
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Is there anyone to ship him with ? I guess you could do WoL x Artoirel if you wanted, but its more of a big brother thing for me . hmmm I think him and Aymeric would make a lovely pair
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Artoirel x Ayemric , Wol x Artoirel ( Lunetta sees him as another brother, even more so than the blood brother she actually had)
My unpopular opinion about this character: I wish he would have more involvement in taking over the family. We havent really gotten to see any of it but unlike Emmanilain he seems to have a lack of things to do when it comes to all the c hange that happening in his home.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:I would more Borther sister timez ! That and I think if the issue of marriage cameup for him , it would be a fun ride. and if his dad showed up in the Hildibrand quests, why cant he ???? D :
my OTP: Lunetta ( my WoL ) and Him . Best brother sister combo
a headcanon fact:After he says “ Haurchefant considered you a sister. Can you be a sister to me as well “ Lunetta calls him an idiot and tells him that he was always her brother. ( that counts right? Its the only scene with those two that I have ev er really planned out )

F.A... Sighted with the Azure Elephant recently
Just who is this cheery Lutebow Toad? Would there ever be an Azure Axololt? Considering Shinobi Kappa exist.
And thus Hylnyan goes on the End of Sub break as Aymeric's aide. Tis only fair for keeping him at Camp Dragonhead for over half a year.
Mostly updating Ayemric on stuff about Estinien if Varshahn had missed out anything. The trio keeps tabs on Estinien's reintroduction into civilian life. Thavnier's warm weather and less uptight than Ishgardian atmosphere had done Estinien well.
Or essentially restocking inventory before DT.

Artie!!!!
"Why are you dressed like a Gealicat?"
"FREE AYEMRIC!!!!!"
I don't think now would be a good time to tell you guys about Halone....
------------
Excuse me while I let Hylnyan hang around these two guys for a while. Give me Lyse as well.
Not waiting for SMN. WHM and RDM are doing this back to back. MNK is is entering ShB while BRD and GNB have finished their jobs during 6.0
Okay granted Hylnyan is 4 years younger than Emmanellain. Emma runs around MSQ and side quests more often and is in Camp Dragonhead. And by post Endwalker she has a better relationship with the younger brother than the older one.
Headcannonwise Emmanellain is one of the people her decoys checks in with.
I remember seeing Artorial hang around Ishgard (area near Fortemps manor) before disappearing from map for a long while. If doing the quests releases him back on map even better.
Would doing this also release Aymeric to map as well? I only see the guy during dungeon runs. Does doing Scholasticate affect anything?
Oh and I found yet another wig that's closer to Hylnyan's Azem / OC
I miss the medium height men
