Hello! Um I know it's been a few months since you said people could ask you more questions on your tgaa thoughts, but I was hoping to ask about your baskerzieks and genshinxwife ones. Like how they met, or what their last in person convos went like before each couple separated/died, etc, bc I really adore your Lady B & Mrs. Asougi designs! They deserved first names 😭

Also I'd love to hear your genklint/ville thoughts too if you care to share those!

ALSO I wanted to say you're 100% correct that if Kazuma & Klint ever actually met good ending au Kazuma would think he's the most annoying person alive. It's funny if genklint is platonic or romantic too, it's like Herlock Sholmes is right there and instead Kazuma thinks his dad's bf (best friend OR boyfriend lol) is significantly worse. HI i love to yap and to yap about dgs especially so you're good haha <3 i'm the kind of person who needs to be asked tbh bc i tend to be self conscious/doubt myself so questions are always super appreciated 🥹💗 this post got LONG so i'm going to put it under a break to spare anyone who's just here for art or trying to look at memes during their lunch break

TL;DR: klint and primrose were engaged as kids but it was broken off upon his parents' death, it was renewed when he earned prestige as a prosecutor; their last conversation was when primrose forced him to confess his crimes to her but she'd started having doubts months ago; in my favorite hc, gkv never pursued one another beyond dropping hints here and there but because i am bisexual i also want them to have fun; genshin and yukari met by chance as teens and genshin had to convince his father to let them marry each other after finding out she was pregnant; he could never say his last words to her because writing about the professor's identity could've endangered her and kazuma.

first of all thank you so much, it makes me so happy when people enjoy my designs and characterizations for lady baskerville and mrs asougi!! for clarity, i'll be calling them by the names i gave them in this post, primrose and yukari respectively.

klint and primrose's engagement was decided by their parents and they met as children- i think they were probably feeling awkward around each other for a while since children don't really care about such things (right..?) and primrose actually chose to spend her time reading when her father would take her to visit, and she might've even been more interested in talking/playing with barok because there wouldn't be the daunting idea of an engagement looming on the horizon lol. eventually, she and klint do grow closer and come to consider each other friends thanks to him putting in a lot of effort to make her feel welcome and also have more fun (she finds him boring- i characterize klint as having been a very serious and dutiful child, though he does play with and dote on his brother).

when the van zieks parents die in my hc, losing their life in a fire specifically, primrose's father chooses to cancel their engagement because he doubts klint can suitably provide for his daughter- a cruel but logical decision as klint is just fourteen years old with no backing or achievements. as an aside, the fire is declared to be an unfortunate accident but klint silently believes it was premeditated- this incident contributes to him considering prosecution as a career. out of care for his brother, he never brings up this idea to barok.

still, primrose is a very clever child who's acutely aware that her father's doting is a form of control (such as making her wear beautiful, white clothes to easily find out if she's been sneaking out, which i think i talked about before), and she insists on meeting klint either at his estate or in the city while they both (and occasionally barok) wear disguises/common clothes. the latter option allows them to meet people outside of their social caste, and to develop a sympathy for them from an early age which also contributes to klint's growing bitterness towards other nobles. throughout his struggle to be taken seriously by these men in spite of his age, primrose continuously encourages him and even spies on her father's meetings with other gentlemen to then report to him, and this continues in their adult life with her reporting rumors and "gossip" from other ladies about their own husbands (with perhaps dire consequences in the long run, haha...)

primrose has ambitions of her own, though, many of which are philanthropic in nature and stem from guilt at being born in a wealthy household to a father who does not care about people other than his own. they are difficult to achieve as an unmarried woman (or even as a woman in general), as her father would never greenlight her ideas, and as such she becomes enraged with klint when he allows the engagement to be dispelled due to believing she would ultimately "be happier with someone else" when it would effectively condemn any ounce of freedom she could have. from primrose's perspective, klint is the only candidate for marriage because he actually respects her and understands her as a person.

their engagement was eventually reinstated following klint's multiple achievements, chiefly when he made a name for himself as an extremely prolific prosecutor and primrose's father couldn't really object to it (ha) anymore. when i researched, i learned that men in the victorian era would commonly get married in their thirties once their careers were established, and i especially like that for this couple because it means that genshin could've attended their wedding. (it's also amusing to picture klint pitching him as the best man while primrose is firmly in barok's camp and they have a silly spat about that, haha. but ngl i prefer genshin as their best man because it was tradition that the best man would drive the married couple to their month long honeymoon directly after the ceremony so. he could stay behind a little while if you catch my meaning. teehee)

on the topic of genklintville, my ultimate preference/personal "canon" is that they never outright acted upon their romantic or sexual interests in one another although the tension was clearly there. but like any bisexual on the internet, i like to indulge a little bit, as shown in my previous paragraph hehe. i like to imagine a kind of kinship between genshin and primrose as they are interested in similar literature and share a similar sense of humor as well (chiefly teasing klint- in a deadpan manner for genshin). klint and primrose tend to dote on genshin in a way they think is discreet, because they can sense his loneliness at being apart from his family even though he generally doesn't voice it, but as we all know genshin isn't a fool and it leaves him quite flustered haha. genshin also relates to klint in the way that they are both heirs to something "greater than them" (the asogi clan/the van zieks heritage) and sometimes yearn to break away from it which might contribute to why genshin left for london if the first place. i'd like to add that if i draw genklint without primrose present, it's taking place with her knowledge and consent, though them being pushed to cheating due to increasing stress or suchlike circumstances is an interesting angle- it's just not something i see myself making at present. though now saying that has made me think about the ways it could be fun to explore the way klint's lying and gaslighting keeps piling up, so what's one more lie? so i'd be interested in reading a story that would attest to his guilt from committing the act and his gaslighting towards not only his wife but also to himself, hmm. the best way that i can put it is that if i'm to explore gk without the v, she must be a relevant character because i'm not about to discard a canon female love interest to focus solely on the yaoi lmao.

now for genshin and yukari, or genyu for short as i like to call it in my head (lol)... there's a lot to cover here too 😵‍💫 some of this, particularly the stuff concerning ayame, is still undecided on but i thought the more context the better!

to understand their dynamic, it feels important to state/repeat my headcanons about the asogi clan aka genshin's immediate family beyond her and kazuma, which were mentioned here. but to summarize, they are very patriarchal, strict, and the type to suppress their emotions. genshin is his father's illegitimate child, and his real mother is... hm, well, she won't ever appear in my art because it's suitable for her character, but she's a high ranking courtesan, aka "oiran", and therefore pregnancy/being a mother could bring shame to her and likely ruin her livelihood, because they are meant to project the image of being unattainable both in appearance.. and price. her disappearing for some months to a year wouldn't be all that suspicious as few men can even afford to meet her.

because the oiran brings the House where she works good money, they help her cover up her pregnancy and her son's existence by sending him to live with his father as soon as possible. once, genshin tries to visit his mother, but he is turned away. in short, his first experience was to be abandoned by someone who was supposed to love him. i think this backstory also serves to give reason to his name (written with the kanji 'shadow' and 'truth') because he is a truth meant to be hidden by the government. if you think about his father giving him that name, it becomes quite sad and implies shame for bringing his son into the world. i think it would also justify the personality i like for him, which is more reserved and serious than how i portray the rest of the visiting trio (with a boisterous but ambitious seishiro and a downtrodden but shy and earnest yuujin), and with a greater disposition for being suspicious... which is naturally a good thing for a detective.

genshin's father's wife lost her life to an illness some years prior to genshin integrating into the asogi clan, which is why he sought comfort from the oiran. to avoid unsavory rumors and to preserve both women's reputation, syoma (genshin's father) forbids his son from venturing outside of the house - paralleling primrose's childhood, which they could bond over later in life - until he turns a certain age. he's the dark sheep of the clan, to make it short. it's by sneaking out as a child that he meets seishiro, and then yukari who is accompanying ayame.

as an aside, i want to add that while syoma holds misogynistic beliefs, he still feels a sense of responsibility so he does eventually pay off the oiran's debt in the end- not that she's particularly grateful since he led her on and made her promise not to abort his child without ever planning to marry her. not a great guy, but def a fun character to write. those are things genshin deduces in his teenage years, and he swears to never become like his father.

as for yukari, her family history is also nebulous, and i don't know if i even want to establish her circumstances before meeting ayame and genshin because i like the meta irony of those details remaining unknown to us just as they were unknown to those around her outside of how she is tied to other people. ayame's friend, genshin's wife, kazuma's mother- never her own person. she reaches a breaking point during genshin's absence, but i won't go into detail about that for now because it's part of a long project of mine. what i can say about her is that she does housework for ayame's family in exchange for room and board, but she's not categorized as a servant because ayame cherishes her, a privilege that makes her feel awkward at times.

genshin fell for her due to her frank and joyful approach to life which was so different from the outlook he was raised on, and she piqued his curiosity with her unusual and often "silly", but free, behavior. he has the utmost respect for her, which is why as much as i like gkv and think it could work in a modern au with yukari's inclusion/approval + rapid methods of communication, i think realistically genshin wouldn't have the heart to start anything with someone else when she is waiting for his every letter so far away. he wouldn't be able to read the expression on her face, and she could easily lie about being okay with it.

in this wikipedia article about marriage in japan in the edo period (1600-1868), it reads: "Members of the household were expected to subordinate all their own interests to that of the [household], with respect for an ideal of filial piety and social hierarchy. [...] Marriages were duly arranged by the head of the household, who represented it publicly and was legally responsible for its members, and any preference by either principal in a marital arrangement was considered improper."

you might've guessed where i'm going with this, but genshin's father had already chosen a wife for him, and that person was ayame, who is from a 'good' family. obviously that marriage didn't go through with yukari becoming pregnant at 18 or 19 (!!), and syoma capitulated to genshin's request that he be given permission to marry his girlfriend which only further strained his relationship with his father further. as for ayame, she was fortunate that the man she was interested in was studying medicine, and therefore struggled less for her family to accept yuujin as her husband. but for yukari, although she knows genshin doesn't love ayame, there's always that nagging feeling that she was the "wrong" choice. after all, she has to witness the interactions between genshin and his family every day, and her presence is often the source of tension. her only rock after ayame's death and genshin's departure is her son, who starts rejecting spending time with her as he grows older because, well, he's a teenager (something i want to expand on in that project i mentioned).

in yukari's case, she was never able to read her husband's last words as even writing about the professor's identity could endanger hers and kazuma's lives, but perhaps genshin had promised he would briefly return at the half-way point of his stay overseas and then ended up having to break that promise by choosing to investigate the professor killings before eventually losing his life. yukari's feelings of helplessness were confirmed as the truth in her eyes then.

as for primrose and klint's last conversation, it's been sitting in my wips for a while LOL. i def think she had her suspicions, and when she finally gathered her courage to confront him, he broke down and told her the truth. i've revised this comic and especially its dialogue so many times that i don't even know if i like it anymore, please pray for me 😅

this made me laugh LMAO honestly kazuma would be so petty about it meanwhile i feel like he'd get along super well with the man's own wife 😂 i also think that as an adult kazuma would admire his father less and even be a bit of a tsundere lol, but yeah in a No One Dies/Good Ending AU(tm) he'd probably resent genshin a little for leaving him and his mother, whose struggles he witnessed firsthand for ten years. hell, maybe he does resent him in the current circumstances even if it's not the dominant emotion when it comes to his father, it of course being grief... still. lord van zieks get your paws off my dad!! 🙄💢 also if genshin starts reciprocating the attention kazuma might start killing LOL

trying to sort out how I feel about yujin’s abilities as a father

because I feel like the whole “leaving susato and going to britain” thing is a little more nuanced than people often give it credit for when talking about it. from the way he tells it, jigoku pretty much insisted yujin go with him because he ‘didn’t know what would become of him if he left him behind’ which to me seems to imply that yujin was suicidal after ayame’s death. and there is a point where your mental health is so severe that it impacts your ability to be a good parent, I truly think the best and most responsible thing yujin could do in that situation is allow susato’s grandmother to be her primary caregiver until he was in a place mentally where he could take on the roles and responsibilities of a parent.

sure, there are arguments to be made about whether or not leaving the country itself was a good idea when he could have stayed in japan and still been present in a way that wouldn’t have been as mentally taxing. or even if he was going to britain, whether the sheer length of his stay was appropriate but all in all I feel like whether or not yujin is a good parent should be defined more by his actions after returning to japan and beginning to actually raise susato himself

which honestly why I’m still kinda conflicted. because I mean from their interactions it’s obvious they both love and care for each other a lot, susato has a lot of respect for yujin and yujin is very proud of susato. however there is also this undercurrent of yujin not trusting susato in ways that are stifling and manipulative.

like having a telegram sent to your daughter telling her that you’ve collapsed and are on the verge of death just to get her back to japan when in reality you’re fine is an insane thing to do, no matter the circumstance. and it was all in service of trying to stop susato find out a secret that frankly, would’ve probably been easier to keep if he’d just told her and asked her to keep quiet about it in the first place.

he has this urge to dictate what she knows and how she lives her through a certain level of control life which, though that is quite common in parents, I wouldn’t necessarily call it healthy.

I dunno, this is something I would like more perspectives on because I think it’s interesting so feel free to share

Ayame stumbles into her apartment, the faint smell of rain clinging to her clothes as she tosses her bag onto the couch. Her heels go flying with a dramatic groan as she kicks them off, and she barely registers the sound of popcorn crunching until she looks up and sees them.

Hyunjin, perched on the arm of the couch like some kind of gossipy cat, tilts his head dramatically, his perfectly styled hair falling into his eyes. Minho is sprawled across the couch, a bowl of popcorn resting precariously on his stomach, his socked feet up on the coffee table. And Seungmin is cross-legged on the floor with his phone in hand, looking like he's been waiting all night for a fight to break out.

They all stare at her like she's the main act of their favourite reality show.

"So..." Hyunjin starts, twirling a strand of his hair like the judgmental diva he is. "Did poor Seonghwa figure out that you're not even remotely��interested in him?"

Minho doesn't look up, tossing a piece of popcorn into his mouth. "He definitely didn't. The guy's had a crush on her for years. No way he noticed she just dragged him into her master plan to keep Chan from finding out she lied."

Seungmin snorts, still focused on his phone. "Honestly? He probably thinks tonight went great. Poor bastard."

Ayame glares at them, holding up a hand. "I am not entertaining this conversation." She walks past them toward her room, her hair still clinging to her damp neck.

Minho tilts his head, his eyes narrowing as he calls after her. "Then what's with the dramatic entrance, Maknae?"

"Fuck off," Ayame huffs, closing her bedroom door behind her.

She immediately yanks off her blouse, the damp fabric clinging stubbornly before she tosses it into a corner. Her skirt follows, and she grabs an oversized T-shirt and a pair of soft, worn shorts from a drawer. She flops onto her bed, scrubbing at her damp hair with a towel and letting out a long, frustrated groan.

A light knock on the door makes her freeze. "Pabo, can I come in?" Minho's voice filters through the wood, softer this time.

She groans again but doesn't argue. "Yeah, sure."

The door creaks open, and Minho steps inside, his usual smirk replaced with a curious, almost concerned expression. He leans casually against the doorframe, crossing his arms as he studies her. "Alright, spill. What's got you stomping around like a pissed-off squirrel?"

Ayame glares at the ceiling, refusing to meet his eyes. "It's nothing."

"It's not nothing," Minho says, stepping closer. His tone softens as he sits on the edge of her bed. "You can tell me, Aya. What happened?"

She stays silent for a moment before finally muttering, "I made out with Chan."

Minho freezes, his jaw dropping as his brain visibly tries to catch up. "Wait. What?"

"In the elevator," Ayame mutters, covering her face with her hands. Her voice is muffled but clear enough for Minho to hear. "Before I went to meet Seonghwa."

The silence that follows is deafening. Ayame peeks through her fingers to find Minho sitting completely still, his expression blank. Then, as if a switch flips, he stands abruptly, pointing a finger at her. "Stay right here."

"What-?" Ayame starts, but Minho is already striding out of the room.

He returns moments later with a glass of water in one hand and, inexplicably, a bundle of sage in the other.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Ayame asks, sitting up as he dips his fingers into the water and flicks droplets at her face.

"By the power vested in me," Minho declares dramatically, his face a mask of exaggerated solemnity, "I cleanse you of Bang Chan's cursed energy. Be gone, foul corporate spirit!"

Ayame sputters, swatting at him. "You're insane."

"No, I'm your only hope," Minho counters, lighting the sage and pacing around the room like a priest performing an exorcism. The fragrant smoke curls through the air as he waves it over her bed with all the seriousness of a man banishing actual demons. "By the sanctity of overpriced quarterly reports, by the agony of HR complaint forms, I banish Bang Chan from your soul!"

Ayame bursts into laughter, doubling over as she clutches her stomach. "Minho, stop! You're killing me."

"Good," he says solemnly, pointing the sage at her like a sword. "Because if he kisses you again, I will."

"Release her, you devil in a suit!" Minho cries, circling her bed with theatrical flair. "This is a sacred space, yes, full of bad decisions and late-night regret, but sacred nonetheless!"

Hyunjin pokes his head into the room, his face a mixture of confusion and delight. "Are you doing an exorcism? Can I join?"

"No," Minho snaps, not missing a beat as he flicks more water at Ayame. "This is my mission. You go cleanse yourself of Changbin."

"Fair," Hyunjin mutters, retreating.

Ayame collapses back onto the bed, laughing so hard her sides ache. "You're fucking insane."

Minho grins, setting the sage aside and sitting back on the edge of her bed. He pats her knee lightly. "Feeling better, Maknae?"

"A little," Ayame admits, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.

"Good," Minho says, his tone suddenly serious. "Now, listen to me, no more making out with Miroh trolls. It's bad for your soul. And mine. My soul can't handle your bad decisions."

Ayame nods solemnly, though her lips twitch with amusement. "I'll try to resist."

Minho flops dramatically onto Ayame's bed, sprawling out like he owns the place. His limbs are everywhere, one leg hanging off the edge, an arm thrown over his face like he's fainting, and he tugs her into his arms with zero grace. His fingers absentmindedly stroke her hair, his exaggerated sigh making her roll her eyes.

"By the power vested in me as your oldest, wisest oppa," Minho begins, his voice filled with mock solemnity, "I officially declare that it's completely okay to feel uncontrollable lust for hot people. Like, seriously. The number of times I've thought about fucking Jisung in every position under the sun? Unreal. Astronomical."

Ayame snorts, her body shaking with laughter as she turns her face into his chest. "Oh my god, Minho. Distract me. Tell me more about your tragic thirst for Jisung."

Minho smirks, tilting his head back dramatically. "Alright. So last night? I had this dream, tequila and sage couldn't even touch this one. We were in the break room, mundane, boring, normal break room, but then Jisung bends over, right?"

Ayame raises an eyebrow, intrigued despite herself. "And?"

"And he's wearing fucking assless pants," Minho says, his tone grave, like he's revealing the plot twist of a thriller.

Ayame bursts out laughing, clutching her sides as she wheezes. "Stop. You're lying!"

"I wish I were lying," Minho says, his voice rising in emphasis as he sits up slightly. "But no. There he was, that perky little ass staring me in the face, and next thing I know, I'm railing the absolute shit out of that slutty-waisted bastard right there in the break room."

Ayame collapses back against the bed, her laughter bubbling uncontrollably. "You're a menace. A fucking menace."

"Oh, I'm not done," Minho continues, waving a hand like he's swatting away her disbelief. "There was another dream where he wouldn't shut the fuck up. He was going on about fonts or something so obviously, I stuffed his mouth with my cock."

Ayame gasps, smacking his chest as her laughter doubles. "What the fuck, Minho?!"

"I'm serious," he says, deadpan. "I woke up, took three tequila shots, saged my entire apartment, and still had to deal with that shit."

"Why are you like this?" Ayame manages between fits of laughter, tears streaming down her face.

"It gets worse," Minho says, as though recounting a war story. "There was the time I dreamt about him riding my face. I had to burn my fucking underwear after that one. Couldn't risk the cursed energy spreading."

Ayame sits up, her mouth falling open in disbelief. "You burned your underwear?"

"Burned," Minho repeats solemnly, as if this is the only logical reaction. "Do you know why? Because subconscious Minho decided that Miroh's slutty graphic designer not only has a fuckable face but also an ass that deserves its own national anthem and sleep nutted."

Ayame is wheezing now, clutching her stomach as she tries to breathe. "Minho, stop! I can't- Millions of your little heirs, gone!"

"Gone!" Minho exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. "Millions of Minhos! Dead in my boxers! Sacrificed to the unholy altar of Han Jisung's chubby cheeks and that sinful fucking waist."

Ayame can't breathe, her laughter loud and unrestrained as she collapses back onto the bed. "Oh my god, you're deranged."

"Maybe," Minho says with a shrug, leaning back like he hasn't just delivered a monologue about his wet dreams. "But you know what's more deranged? You making out with Satan's hellhound in the elevator."

Ayame groans, burying her face in his chest. "Don't remind me."

Minho strokes her hair like she's a grieving widow. "Do you need me to sage you again?"

"No more sage!" Ayame says, her voice muffled against his shirt.

"Alright, fine," Minho says, his voice teasing. "Then answer me this. Would you fuck him?"

Ayame freezes, her face buried against him. After a beat, she mutters, "Maybe I just need to get it out of my system."

"Exactly!" Minho exclaims, pointing a finger at her like he's cracked the code to life. "Hate fuck the hot thirty-year-old. Restore the balance. Yin and yang. Equilibrium."

Ayame groans louder, throwing her arm over her face. "Stop making it sound logical!"

"Shut up," Ayame mutters, though her lips twitch with reluctant amusement. "You're the worst."

"And you love me for it," Minho shoots back, flopping dramatically back onto the bed and pulling her into another overly protective cuddle. "Now let me hold you while you mourn your dignity."

Ayame snorts, snuggling closer. "What dignity?"

"Exactly," Minho says, grinning as he strokes her hair. "Rest in peace."

Minho props himself up on one elbow, his grin wide and wicked as Ayame lies sprawled beside him, her head sinking into her pillow. Her eyes are half-closed, exhaustion settling over her, but she hums in mock encouragement. "Alright, Oppa, blow my mind. Let's hear whatever you want to tell me now."

Minho's eyes glint mischievously, and he leans closer like he's about to share the world's most scandalous secret. "Okay, picture this. Jisung gets his arm stuck in the vending machine."

Ayame snorts, rolling her eyes but clearly intrigued. "Classic porn setup. You're already unoriginal."

"Wait for it," Minho says, raising a hand like he's presenting a masterpiece. "So, I walk into the break room, and there he is, bent over, struggling to get his snack out. Dream logic kicks in, and suddenly, I'm railing him against the vending machine, his arm still stuck. No build-up, no context, just straight to porn-grade action."

Ayame blinks, her mouth hanging open slightly as she processes. "What the actual fuck, Minho?"

"I know, right?" Minho sits up, gesturing wildly. "It was so fucking vivid. His ass was perfect, round, firm, like a goddamn peach. And his cheeks were flushed, all red and needy-"

"Stop!" Ayame cries, smacking his chest, but her laughter betrays her horror. "What the hell is wrong with your subconscious?!"

"I don't know," Minho admits dramatically, clutching his chest like he's mourning himself. "I jerked off immediately after waking up. The most shameful nut of my life. Jizzing over a Miroh troll. I stared at myself in the mirror afterwards, asking where it all went wrong."

Ayame groans, laughing despite herself. "You need therapy. And probably an exorcism."

"Probably," Minho agrees, leaning back against the headboard. "But you know what's worse? It's his fucking cheeks. They're so-" He searches for the right word, his hands gesturing wildly. "Inviting. I just need to fill them with my cock once, and then I'll be cured. Cleansed of the curse of Han Jisung."

Ayame stares at him, her brain short-circuiting. "I don't even- How do I respond to this?"

Minho leans closer, his grin spreading. "Exactly. You can't. Because I'm right."

"You're something, alright," Ayame mutters, shaking her head as she adjusts her pillow. "I hope he hears about this somehow and files the HR complaint of the century."

"Bet you're not thinking about Chan anymore, though," Minho says smugly, waggling his eyebrows.

"No," Ayame deadpans, narrowing her eyes at him. "Now I'm horrified, bewildered, and thoroughly disgusted. Thanks for that."

"Mission accomplished," Minho declares, throwing an arm around her shoulders and pulling her into a sideways hug. His tone turns teasingly conspiratorial. "Also, fun fact: I would piss on Jisung if he asked."

Ayame's head whips toward him, her jaw dropping. "What the actual fuck, Minho?"

"Hey, if he asked nicely!" Minho says defensively, his laughter bubbling over. "Don't kink-shame me. Or him."

Ayame pinches the bridge of her nose, her voice muffled by her exasperation. "Sleep, Oppa. Now. Before I call HR myself and make you write a report on yourself."

Minho grins, settling down beside her like an affectionate cat, his head resting on her shoulder. "Fair warning, though, if I poke you in the back with my hard dick while we're sleeping, it's probably because I'm dreaming about him again."

Ayame waves a hand dismissively, her tone dry. "It's happened before. Our friendship has weathered bigger storms than your morning wood."

"True," Minho says, nuzzling closer. "You're my favourite human."

"And you're my worst," Ayame mutters, though her lips curve into a faint smile. "Now shut the fuck up."

Minho presses his face into her shoulder, sighing contentedly. "If you hate fuck Chan, let me know. I'll buy you both a cake that says Congrats on the Hate Fuck in edible glitter."

"Shut up," Ayame groans, but she's laughing now, the sound muffled by her pillow.

The room settles into a comfortable silence, their chaos and teasing replaced by the soft sounds of their breathing. Ayame closes her eyes, her body finally relaxing as Minho shifts slightly, draping an arm around her in the kind of easy, platonic affection that's seen them through years of bullshit. Sleep overtakes them both, the laughter fading into a peaceful quiet.

I know i rant about Sdra2 often but I'm by no means saying that the first game is perfect. I has it's own flaws, the difference is that there's more things i like and feel the game did right there than it is in Sdra2, as such, the negative aspects of it don't go around my brain as often.

Akira Ikeda - He/Him; Pan; Mt. Komorebi

Akira is your not-so-average lad from Mount Komorebi.

He was raised by not one but two mums - Ayame and Samsara - who more than dote on their baby. (Yes, he's very spoiled. Yes, he can be a bit of a twat. But he means well....?)

Thanks to his mum, Akira is interested in all things surrounding engineering and science. He may not look the part, but he can be rather geeky and he'll gladly hold a lecture about the proper way to assemble a servo. (No, he'll not stup until he's done, no matter what you say.)

Devante Zanders - He/Him; Bi; San Myshuno

Devante - Dev to his friends - was raised in San Myshuno and is exactly what you'd call a city boy. He loves the streets of his home town almost as much as he does dogs.

Dev likes sports - any sport, he'll play pickle ball, he'll play football, he'll surf, jog or run the treadmill. It doesn't matter to him as long as the company is good.

And, keyword company: Dev is quite the charmer. Ever since his toddler days, he's had an easy time making friends and gathering hearts wherever he steps with his laid back vibe and disarming smiles. But only those he truly trusts get to see how much of a goofball my guy really is.

Kareena Advani - She/Her; Demi; Tomarang

Born in Tomarang and raised by one dragon of a mother, Kareena doesn't remember the last time she just got to let go and chill. Every single day is spent bowing to her mothers whims and demands - good grades, good performances, good behaviour, good everything. Maybe then she'll finally be worthy of her mothers love.

Deep down, she doesn't want or care about any of these things. Kareena seeks to enjoy her life and go with the flow, until she's old enough to start a family herself. And once she does, she swears she'll do everything to be a much better mother than her own.

Jiajia Ouyang - She/Her; Lesbian; Ravenwood

Let me tell you - this girl may look all sweet and demure, but don't forget that she's made in Ravenwood ™️. So while she does love little, fluffy creatures and all things soft and cozy, she's also absolutely obsessed with ghosts and any other spooky shit. Thanks to that, Jiajia doesn't scare easily and is likely to react with fascination to any urban myth or ghost story.

Be aware: It's not super easy to become her friend. The best approach would probably be to treat her like on would a crow. Yell "Hey, look at the cool rock I found!" and she'll be by your side, longinly staring at whatever trinket you show her now.

Gracie Lou Freebush - She/Her, ???, Del Sol Valley

Grace - try and call her Gracie, and she'll knock out your teeth - grew up in the lower parts of Del Sol Valley to a deadbeat single dad. Thanks to that, she's always been selfsufficient and never relies on anyone else. Her motto? If you want it done, do it yourself and if it's too hard, get tf over it.

She tends to be a loner, despite her loud and confident demeanour, and getting to know her may be quite difficult. You're just as likely to run into walls as you are to find a way around them, so best stand back and listen to her play the guitar until she decides it's time to like you!

And a little bonus duo that likely won't be picked since they're kind of a package deal, but I wanted to share nonetheless:

Floortje van der Bijl - She/Her; Straight, Brindleton Bay

Mats van der Bijl - He/Him; Bi; Brindleton Bay

These blonde cuties are Floortje and Mats, your average twins from Brindleton Bay. The two of them couldn't be more different - at least in character - but they're as close as they come. Having never met their parents, they're the only blood-family they know. I specifically say blood family, because the two of them grew up in a very loving foster home, meaning they've always had good people surrounding them.

Floortje is ambitious and goal oriented. She doesn't quite know where she is headed, but she'll do everything to make sure she has all her options open. In her free time, she loves hanging out with friends or playing the violin - something she's loved ever since she was a child - and, if the mood strikes her, she may even throw down a mat and do some yoga.

Mats, however, is less motivated. All he really wants to do is dance and he knows he doesn't need to get good grades to do that - much to his sisters chargrine. So he usually just practises or chills, whatever he wants more at the time. He's barely hanging on, all things considered, but it could be much much worse. And, luckily, he can always rely on his sister to kick his butt whenever necessary.

I feel like Fruits Basket had a missed opportunity to write a great arc for Yuki instead of him ending up with Machi. And I LOVE Machi and their romance is really cute but I didn't feel satisfied with that ending for Yuki.

When I first watched Fruits Basket I was sure that Yuki was supposed to be queer-coded and his arc about self acceptance and love was him coming out of the closet.

The reason for that is because of the way Yuki is constantly presented and the way he reacts to other people.

Yuki always gets mad at Kyo for calling him "girly boy" or "pretty boy".

He tries to put up at tough persona to try to appear more masculine.

He has a fanclub with both girls AND boys crushing on him.

Whenever he "flirts" with Tohru it would come off as awkward (I know it's because he considers her as his mom figure but still!!! And yet he has some unspoken rizz when it comes to flirting with guys tho)

Even his dislike of Ayame and not wanting to be like him was kinda him not wanting to come out of the closet (Ayame also gets a last minute love interest to make him more hetero. I thought he was definitely not straight)

It just made sense to me this was going to be his arc. Especially since Fruits Basket is sooo good at depicting emotions. I thought Yuki's arc was him overcoming his hatred of that part of himself and essentially coming out of the darkness that Akito had made him live in.

When the Student council members were introduced I thought Kakeru was going to be both a foil AND a love interest for Yuki. They just had that dynamic and chemistry that made it seem like Kakeru would change Yuki and help him understand his true self and feelings. I thought Machi was the quiet/ weird side character that would have a similar role as Kimi (comedic).

Then the whole Machi x Yuki happened and I was proven wrong. I didn't hate it but....Kakeru and Yuki just had so much growth in their friendship, I couldn't help but ship them.

I would have been happy with even a Bi-Panic moment for Yuki with Kakeru and Machi (who are both half-siblings)

Yuki just had the perfect personality and backstory for a good coming out arc but it never came to be.

(Ps: I am NOT hating Machi and Yuki's relationship. It's just that Fruits Basket had many opportunities to have gay characters but didn't commit to it)
