Some Halloween headcanons for ARR
Dawn Faction
Koga
Gets invited to Halloween parties
Likes that he can attend them without having to wear a suit
He dresses up and covers his face with a mask so people don't recognize him easily
To his annoyance, Toichiro can still recognize him
Asks his maid to pack some candies for the kids who would swing by his house
Kuya
Lets his wings out on full display since people would just think it's his costume
People stare because it looks so realistic (it is real *wink wink*)
Kids would ask to touch it to which he promptly replies, "No"
Kids have to shout to wake him up since he is usually found sleeping on the veranda instead of handing out the treats at Koga's house
Aoi
Goes all out with his cooking to make sure there are a variety of sweets they can hand out
He tries to make Western sweets since it is a Western holiday - he also puts his art skills to use by designing them
Asks Yura to taste test for him. He is grateful to Yura despite his grumbling when Yura asks for more
Also decorates Raccord to give it the Halloween vibe
"Oji-san, lend me a hand!"
Ginnojo
Also packs candies at his shop
Kuro helps him out with the packing
He displays books with spooky stories since they seem to be popular during this time
"Do I really have to wear this?"
Gets this soft look on his face when he hands out treats
Yura
Volunteers to help with packing candies at Raccord since he's got nothing better to do.
Works as the taste tester when Aoi tries to recreate Western sweets.
"Pray, Sir Aoi, this "cookie" tastes good! Can I have some more?"
Eats more than the candies that he packed.
On Halloween, he takes on his child form, dresses up and lines up with the kids to ask for treats.
Twilight Faction
Toichiro
Also gets invited to Halloween parties
Dresses up like a prince
Likes to annoy Koga since he can easily recognize him
Sticks to Koga since these types of parties do not require them to make their rounds
Still as polite as he can usually be when people approach him
Shizuki
Babysits Kogare since Kogare visits on Halloween
Packs candies with Kogare
"Kogare, hide your ears and tail." To which Kogare replies, "But why is Kuya-san allowed to show his wings?!"
The one who hands out the treats at Toichiro's manor since Kogare also makes his rounds to other houses
Kuro
Helps out at Raccord and Kusanagi Books during candy packing
Also joins in on the fun when Aoi has new sweet samples
Performs in front of Raccord and Kusanagi Books on Halloween
He does it for the promotion of their Halloween show later that night
"If you like what you see, watch the show of Lorenzi Circus Troupe tonight and be whisked away to a night filled with mystery!"
Oji
Always seems to be busy 'entertaining' his customers so he barely helps Aoi with packing candies
He thought he could get away with not wearing a costume so the Raccord gang had to force him to wear something for Halloween
"Aoi-chan, 1 pack of candy for the young lady here"
Gaku
Also helps out at Raccord since Yura is there
Makes tiny trinkets like jack-in-the-box and Chinese finger trap and drops them randomly inside the candy packs
Heaps wasabi on top of the sweets so he can eat the same thing as Yura
Holds back his laughter when he sees the children find themselves trapped in the Chinese finger trap.
"Do you need help with that?"

How I think the ARR boys would react if you throw a cake at them
before we start, i haven't read much about the lore/ i forget most of them now. So some characters might be off character sorry.
reader/mc is gender neutral
Tumblr media
Koga Kitamikado
Uh pretty good 6/10 Definitely would say he enjoys the fun and challenge (?) 100% would laugh at it. -1000000 points if you throw a peach cake at him
Kuya
Ehh… 5/10 This could end in 2 ways Bro definitely fly up if you throw it or he not was enough ( idk if he have a fast reflex) The second outcome and the more likely. Wouldn't even care. He definitely would like the cream of his face then just fall asleep -1 point cuz koga won't like the floor/ bed dirty
Aoi
-10/10 Mad as hell, you might get the silent treatment Definitely made you clean up or help you clean up a bit. +1 if he like you he will try to be kindish more and won't yell at you that much Keyword: try
Ginnojo
4/10 Might be confused about what u doing I say depends on your relationship, if you 2 close he might laugh it off (?) if not uh yeah. Might blushes if you clean up his face ( if you a woman ) i say he would
( Idk how to write him)
Yura
100/10 Would very like it His brother don't so mins 10 points Yura would say something like: " this cake is yummy or thou art a teaseing woman or something" ( I'm not good with old language ) 100% would like the cream. All the cream of his face. Might ask for some more.
Tumblr media
Toichiro Yuri
-1/10 not good. Mad definitely mad. But I think he might smile and laugh at it. Not sure if he think this might be childish but ehhh.. maybe. Gonna be a little shit about it. +5 point if you help him pranks koga with peach. 100% would get revenge on you. Watch your back.
Shizuki
0/10 yeh Might swap the tochiro point and shizuki point together idk.
Toichiro could like bring him booze and lock him and you togethers He either have a good reflex and freeze the cake before it gets to him. Or he fail. Would say he pretty disappointed and will told you that you are imatured (?)
-100000 points if you tell that he fail to kagemaru.
Kuro
10000000/10 I love him Would laugh at it like koga ( love his silly smile ) 100% would lick the cream and taste it. 99% put some creams on your face as revenge. 1% stand for he no wanna hurt your pretty face <3 Enjoy the fun and might make a cake war with everyone ( Good luck ) He could like make a cake theme circus like some of the event and invite you guys in. +100000000000 point cuz he is kuro and I love him part
Oji
7/10
"Young people/ youngster these days… " Or "I'm too old for this" He definitely said something related to that. You can't change my mind, I will take it down with my grave. +1 point if you help clean the mess and his mess. He would rewards you with the Rice Omelet. if not i will say poor Aoi...
he might escape the cake war if he ran out and smoke before it stared.
Gaku
2/10 no. Really don't. More no if you throw one at his brother. Even if yura like it. He doesn't tho. -2 point if the cake is sweet. Unless yura calm him down he will be hella mad. Don't tell toichiro about this.
(idk what else)
Tumblr media
Nachi
8/10 meow I'm not sure if he like cake or not but it's you… Soo I suppose he doesn't mind much? You better apologize with sardines. Many many many many sardines Don't tell anyone tho. Who does not want to be the "butt of everyone's joke" Get it? :3
Kagemaru
Oh dear… You have guts 5/10 I say it's a 50/50 thing. In his profile he does like the strong.. idk if being bold like that is considered strong but.. you do you. Um would ask a fight about it. Idk if geisha allowed to make new ideas in the way to "seduce" customer but would add cake fight for the fun of it. Like tochiro+10 points if you do it to shizuki.
Well he have 2 persona before the event and after so… ( Spoiler)
Aki ( before the event)
6/10 Say something like "a-ah! Oh it's you! Haha.. I never knew.! Don't do it again pls.. I hate being scared (?" Uh yeah idk if he does say something like that I forgot but close to it. Would be shy about it tho
All now for the evi one.
Akiyasu Kurahashi
0/10 yeah I think it kinda self explain. But would ignore it. Or like uh used some onmyoij art to make it miss or something. But imagine if it does hit him. Wouldn't care. Would get annoyed tho.
Tatsuomi Oyama
6/10 if you are like futuba not so bad. But even if you are not. I say he still haddle it well. Not gonna yell or be mad he would be like normal. +1 point if you give him some apologize gift like nachi.
Yakumo Koizumi
8/10 "My doll you are so interesting…" Something like that. Not so sure if he hate cake or sweet or anything like that but yeah. I say he wouldn't mind cuz it's.. you after all. Maybe tiny bit minded that he have to change his clothes ( does he hate being dirty?? Idk) Make him high cuz he like you better then anyone. If it's something else? Oh they be dead.
Tumblr media
Kyonosuke Aizen
?/10 idk tbh but -1 point cuz his name is long as hell and I have a difficult time writing it. I say he have good reflex and dodge it.
might called you childish Yeah. Sorry. Idk tbh. But would say he haddle it calm and collected. (maybe)
Mototaka Saotome
8/10 would only work if you see the reader as futaba or you see him as your father yourself. Cuz he best dad. But would like some father and daughter/son( if you oc is a boy) moment I don't think he would be mad at you. If you look at how he gone to business so much he would think it nice to got some moment like mentioned above.

I have a headcanon that Koga's mother's name was Kohime, and her and Ouga brought the name Koga by mixing their names together :
Ko from Kohime
ga from Ouga
(the second part can be also "uga" since Koga's name in Japanese pronounced actually "Kouga")

Pairing: Kuro x gn!reader | Ayakashi Romance Reborn Rating: General C/Ws: Modern AU, fluff, established relationship. Word count: 2k A/N: Thank you so much to @lost-khione for beta reading this <3 It really helped me transform this idea into a more rounded one-shot!
A rush of cold wind made you shiver, and you gripped the handle of your suitcase tightly. You were starting to feel the tiredness in your body after the trip, and the fact that it was already dark out wasn’t helping. You wanted to lie down already.
“Why is it that the GPS still doesn’t show our current position?” Kuro sighed next to you. “I’m sorry we’ve been walking for so long and I still haven’t figured out where we are on the map. Maybe we should’ve bought one of those portable Wi-Fi devices.”
“It’s okay, Kuro. I’m just glad you did download the maps beforehand. I suck at navigation anyway. I trust you.”
“Yeah, but it shouldn’t be this hard, I’m sure you’re tired and instead of taking us to the hotel quickly—”
You stopped walking, forcing him to stop a step ahead of you and look back.
“Kuro, it’s fine. I’m happy this is our first trip together. And I’m glad I’m here with you, and not strolling alone in a city I don’t know at night.”
Kuro’s shoulders slouched down.
“Yeah. I’m here with you.” He put his phone away for a second, hiding it in the back pocket of his jeans. “We’re having some fun time together exploring the city already. We’re not lost, we simply couldn’t wait until tomorrow!” He took your free hand and intertwined his fingers with yours.
You felt him squeezing not just your hand, but also your heart. There it was, the way he always dropped everything whenever you expressed you needed him.
“Doesn’t this remind you of old times?” He flashed a mischievous smile at you, confusing you. “The trip we took with our friends. We also got lost then, just the two of us.”
Images flashed through your mind. You had just been friends at that time, but perhaps your friends had already plotted to bring you two together. Or perhaps it had been fate.
You two had been tasked with going out to buy food to bring back to the apartment. That time, you hadn’t even been able to check the map once you were outside, and you wandered through the streets until you found a fast-food restaurant. It had felt like an adventure, being in a different country, searching the streets to find what you were looking for.
On the way back, you had to pass by a group of guys on the street, and even if you didn’t understand the language, you knew they were throwing distasteful remarks at you. At the time, Kuro had held your hand and stared them down, which didn’t make them shut up at all, but at least you had felt safe. Now, he held your hand for completely different reasons, but the sense of safety was the same.
You looked at Kuro and felt that even if it was cold and dark out, there was nobody else you’d rather get lost with. Squeezing his hand a bit more tightly, you focused on the sensation of your fingers intertwining with his.
When you finally reached the small apartment you had rented out after some trial and error through adjacent streets, Kuro left you with the luggage and quickly left again to search for a shop that was still open so late at night. You had miscalculated the time you would spend on transport – and on finding your apartment. Just when you had sighed with relief after opening the door, your body decided to roar loudly and make it clear how hungry you were.
“Hehe, I’m hungry too,” Kuro had whispered with a soft smile on his face. It was just the two of you in that small apartment, and hearing his hushed voice made your stomach twist for completely different reasons than your hunger. Or perhaps they weren’t so different after all.
“You sure you don’t want me to go with you?” You asked as he placed a gentle kiss on your forehead before he went back outside.
“It’s fine, you’re tired anyway. And I’d rather you did some research for our schedule for tomorrow.” He flashed you a smile and closed the door.
We should’ve just bought something on our way here, you thought. But truth was, you couldn’t even remember if there had been any restaurants on your way there, focused as you were on finding the names of the streets that would lead you to the apartment.
You looked around the room, doing things like organising your toiletries in the bathroom and hanging some of your clothes in the closet. Then you settled down on the small sofa to check the plans you had spent a week making.
It wasn’t long when you heard the door and Kuro’s cheerful voice followed by a delicious smell.
“I’m back,” he chirped. He almost tripped in the entrance and wanted to laugh. You had gotten his slippers out and placed them close to the door, but he hadn’t been expecting it. It was such a simple thing, but in his eyes, it was proof of how thoughtful you were, and how you were constantly showering him with attention. It made him think of how someday, you wouldn’t rent an apartment abroad together, but you’d do it in the city you lived.
You quickly got to him and took the bag with food from his hands, going to the kitchenette. You took some plates out and put the food in them. The feeling of Kuro embracing you from behind startled you, although you should’ve been used to it by now. In unison, you sighed. You hadn’t hugged since the last time you had gone on a date and stayed over at his place. You were still living apart, and every day proved to be as difficult as the first when your bodies were craving this shared warmth. You relaxed against his chest, and he nuzzled his face in the crook of your neck.
“I love you so much,” he spoke against your skin, tickling you.
“I love you too, Kuro.” You forgot about the food and covered his arms on your stomach with yours. “I missed you.”
“We have been almost all day together! I’ve only been gone for what, 20 minutes?” He giggled.
“I missed hugging you,” you admitted nonchalantly. He raised his head and freed one of his arms from under yours, raising it to your face and gently guiding you towards him. You shared a slow kiss.
When you broke free from it, you felt Kuro’s breath on your face when he spoke. “Do you need to text your family?”
“You’re thinking of my family right after we kissed?” The disbelief was loud and clear in your voice, and his words made you want to break from his embrace.
“Well, I promised them I’d take good care of you.” As if sensing your intentions, he squeezed you tighter between his arms and gave you a heart-melting smile. “How am I doing so far?”
Kuro briefly touched his nose to yours before you broke the contact by looking down.
He was only speaking about this morning, when you had met at the airport and your family had called you to wish you a safe trip. Kuro had asked to speak to them for a second, and had promised them he’d take good care of you. He only meant for this trip, he wanted to reassure them, but somehow it made you imagine that one day, he would be repeating those words to your parents for completely different reasons.
Feeling heat creeping up your cheeks, you decided to hide your thoughts by teasing him.
“Sometimes I think you think of my family more than you think of me,” you muttered under your breath. His fingers on your cheek guided your face back to look at him.
“Hey,” his breath tickled your lips. “That’s not even near being true.” Kuro smiled gently, making all your discomfort and tiredness from the day melt away. Before you knew it, your lips were moving to form a smile that mirrored his. His soft giggle warmed your heart while one of his hands found your cheek and traced your skin with his thumb. He lightly pecked your other cheek, tickling you. “But they seemed kind of anxious this morning when they said goodbye to you over the phone.”
“I should’ve texted them instead.” You sighed, slouching against him. Even you were way past those farewells.
“Well, they just need to get used to you being far away from home. The more we travel together, the more it will become a norm.” He titled your head slightly, exposing your neck. “Although it won’t make it stop being special.” Kuro traced your skin with gentle kisses, from your jaw to the beginning of your clothes. “And one day, home will be wherever we decide.”
“Oh.” You turned in his arms, now facing him with a questioning look. “Is this a proposal?” He smiled at you while slowly running his hands up and down your back.
“It’s just a heads-up.” His hands stopped at your hips, pulling you closer to him.
“I see how it is, huh.” You put some distance between your faces, feigning annoyance.
“Well, the real thing will be much more romantic.” Kuro swayed a little as if dancing to music. You giggled, unable to keep a straight face. He always had a way of turning anything into a playful event full of joy. “Not that take-out for dinner during our trip isn’t romantic.” He looked behind you, where the food lay forgotten and was already starting to get cold.
Letting go of each other, you turned your attention back to getting ready to eat dinner.
“Thank you for getting the food, by the way,” you said while opening the boxes. Kuro looked over at you while getting the glasses.
“It’s nothing,” he replied. But the fond smile on his face was quietly whispering ‘Anything for you, my dear.’
The following days were spent sightseeing, discovering beautiful buildings, vibrant plazas and delicious food. On your final day, Kuro insisted on taking more pictures of you than usual.
“We have been taking plenty of pictures, plus, it’s more fun if both of us are in the picture!” You argued.
“It’s not the same. I don’t want all the pictures to be selfies. And I didn’t take enough pictures of you!” He pouted, making those eyes he knew made it incredibly difficult for you to refuse him.
You hesitated, feeling shy but also flattered.
“Then I’ll also take pictures of you!”
And so the competition to see who got more pictures of the other started. It began with you two just trying to surprise each other and take random shots, but as you had more and more fun, it helped you stop being so camera-shy and you started posing for Kuro, delighting him. And you also got some pictures of him like that.
“It’s not fair, you look like a model! The camera loves you!” You said while looking at the pictures you had taken over the trip during the flight back home. Kuro giggled next to you and planted a quick kiss on your cheek.
“Look, this is my favourite picture of us.” He showed you one of the selfies you had taken, where you both looked smiley and relaxed. It made you think it truly represented the people you were together. “You are so gorgeous.” The compliment made you feel bubbly inside.
“We can print this picture and hang it next to our beds?”
“Oh! I love that idea! I’ll get to see your beautiful face first thing in the morning.” Kuro smiled, taking your hand in his and gently squeezing it.
With that, your first trip as a couple ended, but it was the first of many more. At the time, descending from the plane saddened you and made you want to turn back time. But fortunately, the course of time cannot be stopped, and in time you two returned to that city again, to celebrate your anniversary.

Indulge my Bad Boy thing, please! Ayakashi Romance Reborn, Kagemaru, smut, HC, zodiac, whatever springs to mind. It will all be much appreciated!
Kage headcanons! Excellent! Though since I keep things SFW here, I won’t be very descriptive about it.
Kagemaru headcanons:
Kagemaru acts like a dom, but actually… is a complete bottom and sub. But you need to defeat him and seriously beat his ass first. Also, S&M tendencies – Kage likes both ways though, depending on the mood. Struggle play where Kage gets overpowered? Totally yes.
…though the costs of repairing all the damage to the furniture and the building itself after such sessions, if the roleplay gets, ahem, supernaturally intense, would be horrendous…
Yuzuru is more than just a disguise – an expression of Kagemaru’s gender identity, which is probably either gender-fluid or bigender. Kage of course doesn’t know the modern concepts, but having to limit the gender expression to one would make Kage feel incomplete
the way Kage and Shizuki are behaving, it seems like the two went through a nasty break-up so let’s roll with that. Kage is Shizzy’s ex and no one can convince me otherwise!
not straight. There’s no way in hell this spider can be straight. I bet on pansexual. Or beat-me-in-a-life-and-death-battle-sexual, probably.
Kage’s hair is smooth and silky, but strong as well. Don’t expect the softness of the level of an newborn kitten’s fur, though Kage definitely works hard to keep it perfect.
a huge advantage of Kage’s hair though is that it doesn’t get messy. Even after a big fight it just… falls back into place and that’s it.
also not easy to style, and probably that’s why Kagemaru’s hairstyles aren’t very elaborate. Not like Kage ever needs fancy hairstyles to be stunningly beautiful, right? Right.
has totally chased Akiyasu while holding a cat. At least once.

Imagine Futaba wondering if there’s something wrong with Aizen’s hands because he always wears gloves even on “off hours”.
We know there’s nothing wrong with the hands appearance-wise based on the special event cards and the bedclothes card, but she doesn’t. Unless those are considered non-canon and actually in the main plotline there’s something bad about it...

Hi, sorry, person who wanted Ayakashi when you suck their tiddies fic. I just realized I should've been more specific. Can you do it for the dawn gang, as headcanons? Tyyy
i accidentally deleted the first part of ur ask!!!!! but yes of course i can do some boy titty sucking for those sweet sweet ayakois
(i had too much fun with ginnojo’s bit. does anyone else wanna make him cry????)
Tumblr media
you suck the tiddies of the ayabois — dawn edition (NSFW 18+);
Tumblr media
Koga;
“You want to do what to me?” Koga asks, looking curious yet all too amused. “Do you think it’d even feel good?”
you grin back at him, coiling a dark strand of his hair around your fingers. “Of course, I’m an expert at this.”
he doesn’t need anymore convincing than that. you’re normally right about these sorts of things — besides, nothing ventured nothing gained, right? he rests casually on the bed and motions for you to continue. “Alright, I trust you. Do as you like with me.”
you give him a kiss, then start peppering them on his cheeks, jaw, and neck. your fingers dance over his bare skin, tracing the tattoo on his chest momentarily before undoing his clothes and exposing more of him.
you give a little lick to the nipple closest to you and he jerks in surprise, an anticipatory smile spreading on his face. you prod at his other nipple with your fingers, taking it between them and rolling it gently.
you cover the right one entirely with your mouth and his eyes flutter shut. your actions are languid, relaxed, but skilled, and a quiet moan slips from his lips. he’s surprised at how quickly you’ve managed to turn him on, but he really shouldn’t be. you know his body more than even he does, after all.
you increase the pressure on his left and he leans his back against the headboard. “Haah… you weren’t kidding, [Name], you really are an expert.”
he feels you grinning against him and you gently bite the nipple in your mouth. he leans up into you and groans.
you feel his excitement growing against your thigh, which is snugly entangled between his legs. you pull away from him, still pinching at his left bud and smile. “You’re getting hard from this, aren’t you?”
“Just a bit,” he answers as he slides his fingers through his hair.
you rub his erection through his clothes while your tongue plays with his nipple again. “Hmm. Well I guess I need to take care of it, don’t I?”
Kuya;
Kuya is resting beneath you on your shared bed as you caress his chest with your hands and tongue. he moans quietly, shifting under you every so often and luxuriates in the feeling
he’s almost completely hard and has been for some time. you love to play with his nipples and he loves to let you, sometimes you don’t even go further than this, you just suck his titties like they’re giving you sustenance until you’re satisfied
you feel his hips move as he tries to get some friction going, but he’s not trying very hard. he’s honestly content just with this, but sometimes his urges just get the better of him
you suck and bite at his nipple until it goes red and puffy, and he breathes out your name in a pleased sigh
his eyes softly close as he submits to you, and his breathing steadies. whenever you lick or pinch at his tits just right you’ll hear him whimper or moan
kuya’s tanned skin is marred a deep red, his broad chest littered with hickeys. it excites you to see. it reminds you that he’s yours.
you continue your fondling happily, until a few minutes in you realise his breathing has slowed and his voice has grown quiet.
you lift your head up and narrow your gaze at him. he’s not seriously…
you put your hands on his shoulders and shake him. “Oi, Kuya! You’re asleep!”
he stirs at this and cracks his eyes open. “Huh…? Oh… hi [Name].”
“Was it really that boring?” you chide playfully. “If you wanted me to get nastier, you could’ve told me.”
“No, it’s not that. It just felt really good so I drifted off…”
“That’s not normally how foreplay goes.” you purse your lips, then continue. “But I guess it is you we’re talking about.”
there’s a moment of silence between you, and at first you think he’s gone back to sleep, but then he says, “Could you do it again?”
“So you can go back to sleep?”
he nods simply. he just looks so cute and sweet lying there that you can’t find it in you to deny him. you resume your actions, and it isn’t long until sleep captures him again.
Ginnojo;
“A-ah… Are you sure you want to do this? I mean…” Ginnojo stutters, “It doesn’t seem l-like something a man and woman should do…”
his shirt is already pushed up to his collarbones and your hands are massaging the toned flesh of his pecs. his face is lit up with a bright pink blush and his eyes are looking anywhere but you.
“You should sit back and enjoy it, old man. All the kids these days are doing it,” you tease. you often go back and forth between calling him a senior citizen or saying that he’s ‘not that old’. it all depends on which specific way you feel like toying with him that day — despite being almost 60 he has remarkably little experience. it’s cute.
“I-I’m not sure if that’s the truth…” he almost whines, covering his face with the back of his hand.
you squeeze his chest and he suppresses a yelp, you smirk. “Do you want me to stop, then? I don’t wanna bully my elders…” a blatant lie. you loved to bully him and he knew it.
his words fail him as he tries to say something — anything — but he knew whatever he’d say you’d use as ammo against him.
your mouth finally makes contact with his skin and he squeezes his eyes shut. the feel of your hot breath, your wet tongue leaving a trail of saliva on and around his nipple, your teeth lightly grazing his skin— it was driving him wild already.
it was no shock (but still no less embarrassing) when his half-mast quickly stood at full attention. a heat spreads from his chest down to his stomach, pulsating through his limbs. he had no idea he was even so sensitive like this. many men aren’t, after all, but he almost felt like he could cum just from this and he knew it would only be used against him.
a gargled moan escapes him and he tries desperately to maintain his dignity despite your ruthless teasing. he just knew if he looked at you you’d be staring up at him with that face.
that cocky, nearing totally arrogant face that said “i can do anything i want to you and you’ll love it”. it gets him so hot and bothered and he knows that you know but he’s in too deep to resist you anymore
despite his mind screaming not to look, he risks a peak and sees the all-too-familiar expression he knew you’d have. you catch his nipple between your teeth and tug, earning a shaky gasp that melts into a whine.
he already wants to cum. he’s completely losing his composure — if he had any to begin with — and you pick up on it.
“You’re leaking already…” you coo at him. “Do you want me to fuck you, Ginnojo?”
he’s nodding before he can stop himself, and you stand up to your full height to gaze at him. “I’ll enjoy making you a mess for me, my sweet Ayakashi.”
Aoi;
the sound of Aoi’s sweet moans fills the halls of Raccord as you pin him firmly to the wall and assault his lithe body. your hands busy themselves, one cupping his ass and the other toying with his tits.
you suck eagerly at him and he throws his head back. his hands are resting at your shoulders, like he’s unsure if he wants to push you away or let you continue to ravage him.
“P-please… Oji will be back any minute— aahn!”
you hum against his chest and his fingers dig into you. you lift your mouth enough to say, “Don’t want him seeing how lewd you are?”
he bites his lower lip as he presses himself further into you. “I-I’m not lewd!” he protests. “You’re the lewd one! Doing this to me in public… what if someone comes in?”
your thigh rubs against his erection as you give him a quick smack to the ass. he jolts and lets out a surprised squeak. “Then they get a free show, don’t they?”
he hopelessly grinds himself against you as you continue to grope, suck, and lick at him. despite himself he’s so horny he can’t stand it. he wants you to just throw him down and fuck him already. he wants to cry your name as you ride him so hard his hips are bruised, he wants to be covered in cum (yours and his) sweat, tears, and drool as you drain everything out of him. the thought alone drives him insane.
he can never vocalise these things with you — or anyone. they’re far too embarrassing. you have him pegged (haha) when you call him lewd, he’s probably the horniest person you know.
“Please…” he begs, coming out like a sob. “I can’t go back to work like this… please let me cum.. I need it…”
“How badly?” you ask casually, unconvinced that you should give him any release.
“R-really badly..! My mind’s going blank, I’m so hot everywhere… please, [Name], I need you.” the pleading look on his face is incredibly arousing, you love to see the hornier parts of his personality slip through his tsundere facade.
you think back to the handbag you brought with you. you packed some toys specifically because you intended to come here to tease him.
you lean up to his ear, “How about I take you in the back and fuck you with my fat cock so hard you forget about your shift?”
his eyes widened and, despite the responsible part of his brain saying ‘no’, he easily agreed.
Yura;
Yura was too kind for his own good. he knew, deep inside, that when you asked to meditate with him you had an ulterior motive, but he didn’t want to refuse you. he loves your presence and he didn’t want to miss a chance to spend time with you, however devilish your intentions might be.
but now he was laid neath a tree, his fingers lazily twirling through blades of grass as you straddled him and kissed all over his bare chest.
“Mmm… your kisses are so sweet, [Name], you could kiss me a thousand times and I’d not be satisfied.” he sighs happily, a contented smile on his face and a blush tingeing his cheeks.
the way he talked was simultaneously cute and embarrassing. even when he was asking you to fuck him senseless he’d manage to make it sound poetic, some shit like “please embrace me” or “i yearn for you” or whatever.
it was endearing… and a tad cringe-inducing. serves you right for fucking a 1000 year old ayakashi, you suppose.
as your tongue encircles the pale pink bud, he moans a little. you suck at him, moving from one nipple to the next to ensure they both get equal amounts of attention.
“Feels nice…” Yura says as he exhales. “You’re making me crave more of you…”
“Don’t I always?” you ask, and he responds with lilted laugh. his voice is pleasant and beautiful even as he’s getting shamelessly aroused in broad daylight.
“You do,” he answers simply. earnestly. he raises a hand from the ground to stroke your hair, which only fills you with the urge to make him less composed.
you gyrate your hips against his and he gasps out, his nails lightly digging into your scalp. your attention is once again focused on his chest, your eager hands squeezing, pinching, and exploring every inch of him.
his head rolls back and he moans, pushing his lower half up to meet you better. “Please…” he whispers, his way of asking you for more. you happily comply, and soon your ears are filled with yura’s intoxicating soft cries.
you stop sucking at his chest to take his lips instead. he kisses you back hungrily, only to part when he feels your fingers wrap around his cock. he’s stunned, his eyes widened as he twitches in your hand, though instead of being displeased he smiles softly and tells you, “It seems I shall be doing more than reaching enlightenment today.”
you bark out a laugh and his smile widens. “More than once too, pretty boy.”

WIP list! Or rather active WIP list. Since I'm a very moody creator, and in general a very overworked individual, sometimes even tiny flashfics take months (or years).
Especially when focusing on one piece at time just backfires because I'm too moody not to need constant change of motifs and plots.
There are many semi active projects too, but only the following few actually get new words every week. Or lose words, that happens a lot too. Anyway, they're being worked on.
Fading Marks - Obey Me! - soulmate AU for Lucifer. Generally goes the same as season 1 to spare unnecessary paragraphs, with the addition of the tiny soulmate detail. With Ren, ends with the final Lucifer scenes of season 1 and does not get a particularly happy ending. My favourite theme of missed chances. Maybe would extend to 2 chapters.
The Thirst He Awakened - IkeSen - a giveaway piece, despite the title, this one does not contain any nsfw scenes and is 100% angst. Featuring an alcohol dependent MC. And Mitsuhide's water to booze prank that goes very wrong. Multi-part, at least 3 chapters.
Warmth of the Two - IkeSen - giveaway piece, Mitsunari/Ieyasu/MC. I have been struggling with this one because I got very repulsed for the last 8 months and it's nsfw but it's almost finished. Just one more paragraph to connect two scenes.
AyaKoi headcanons for the other blog but they're very stalled since I'm usually too brain dead after work to brainstorm.
Skies - Queen of Thieves - drabble or double drabble (probably really short) with Raveena. Mostly her thoughts on the Gilded Poppy. Yes, I've been writing those 200 words for months.
Though through the whole June I've been very nope about any kind of creative work. Barely forced myself to draw a few quick drawings, couldn't even bring myself to work on the beta'd versions and corrections. Slowly getting back though.
Also, being buried in work and overtime definitely doesn't help at all. If creating is generally fun, pushing past my limits to draw or write works out, but when it doesn't spark joy... I'd rather rest after work instead.

Kuya’s Bday Headcanon
I had this headcanon idea about Kuya because of his bday motion of diving on a pillow.
Tumblr media
I imagine Kuya’s bday celebration to be held at Koga’s home with the only guests being Futaba, Toichiro and Shizuki -- basically the 4 childhood friends + Futaba
Kuya receives the pillow as a gift so he decides to test it out. Just before he plops down on the pillow, Toichiro pulls it out from under him leaving him to lie flat on the floor with a thud.
Then, Kuya rises from the floor unbothered and pulls Futaba down to sit on the floor and rests his head on her lap instead saying, “Never mind the pillow, I like your lap the best” and he snoozes away.
Toichiro meanwhile rolls his eyes and says, “This is why you’re no fun to tease.”

Painting on skin
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aoi x Futaba | Ayakashi Romance Reborn
Rating: Teen
Event: Be my Valentine hosted by @xxsycamore and @chaosangel767
Prompt: Feb 9th – “Aren’t you tired yet?” “Of you? Never.”
C/W: established relationship, fluff, a tiny bit of angst – a very stressed Aoi
Summary: Aoi had been stressed about his assignments when Futaba proposed a new idea to help him overcome his artistic block.
Word count: 4.2k
A/N: Happy Birthday to our dear Aoi~ It’s still his birthday where I live, and I’m so glad I could finish it in time!
The door opened with a titillating of the bells, making Futaba look up from the table.
“You’re back”.
Aoi was carrying some of his painting materials with him, which made Futaba press down her lips firmly. He didn’t just have a dishevelled aspect, some strands of hair protruding from his braid, some short hairs stuck to his forehead which instead of pale pink was now showing a greenish tone, the same tone that Aoi’s fingers had, among other colours in varying degrees of size. At least his clothes aren’t dirty, Futaba thought, but still, that messy style wasn’t like Aoi.
“You’re alone?” Aoi walked up to her, and under the pale light, she could see clearly the dark circles under his eyes.
“Of course I’m alone, have you looked at the time?”
Aoi did a quick double-take on the clock on the wall, and if he had had any energy to begin with, his shoulders would’ve dropped. But he had felt disheartened since he left the building where he had been painting.
“I’m sorry, Futaba.”
“Don’t be, you know Oji is upstairs and he doesn’t sleep until late.”
Aoi felt a sad smile wanting to spread across his face.
“I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry you had to wait for me for so long, being alone or not.”
Futaba looked at him briefly before standing up. She didn’t have the heart to look at his tired face and complain. It must’ve rubbed off on her, how Aoi tried scolding people to make them take better care of themselves.
“I’ll lock up, will you go on ahead to my room?” The way Aoi’s eyes were pleading made her almost want to touch him then and there, but she just nodded and turned away, going up the stairs to the second floor.
Futaba spread out the futon while Aoi tried to clean himself off the paint quite unsuccessfully. When he returned, the hair around his face was wet, and his sleeves were unbuttoned. Seeing him like that, with the evidence of water and soap across his forehead, but the splatter of paint still on his skin made Futaba sigh. It was as if the paint no longer was a tool, but rather it was coming from him, from deep within him.
“Will you let me untwine your hair?” Futaba asked in a quiet voice. Aoi felt his heart tremble a little in his chest. It had been weeks since she had last touched his hair, and it almost felt like a betrayal, the proof that they hadn’t been spending enough time together, that he had been neglecting her.
Aoi whispered in agreement and sat down next to her on the futon.
“Put your head on my lap.” She scooted a bit closer to the wall and straightened her legs. Aoi lied down looking away from her so that his braid was fully at her disposition. She reached out to untie the simple cord that he always used and tied it momentarily around her wrist. Seeing the little piece in contact with her body always made her feel closer to him. Like this act, this moment was something he only shared with her. Like she was the only one allowed to touch his body.
Futaba often worried that other people were able to touch his heart and mind more deeply than she ever could, for she didn’t have any artistic talents. She could only aspire to be a student to Aoi whenever he took her along for an exhibition. But this right now – his rope on her wrist and her hand on his hair – this was something only she could do.
“You’re quieter than usual”, Futaba started, deftly uncrossing the strands and undoing Aoi’s braid, while her other hand started massaging the top of his head.
“…things aren’t going well with my painting.” Aoi cut to the chase and for once decided to be honest from the beginning. He knew Futaba was tired, and her undoing his braid was a ritual they had together whenever they wanted to be honest with each other and let down their walls.
“The one you’ve been working on nonstop?”
“No, actually… I didn’t tell you, but about a week ago we suddenly got this new assignment.”
Futaba could hear the guilt in Aoi’s voice, but her heart only trembled with relief. So that’s why she had been seeing even less of him, even when he had started his assignments early so that they could spend time together.
“It’s the teacher with the crazy ideas, always trying to get us to do different things, outside of our area of study,” Aoi dragged his fists to cover his chest as if he had to be prepared to fight someone. “This time, he said we had to merge humanity and nature together, and then he refused to further explain anything. And he gave us way less time than any other teacher, too.” If Aoi hadn’t been so tired, he would’ve already been shouting with disgust right now, Futaba was sure of it.
“Humanity and nature?”
“Yeah, you know my specialty is landscapes, that’s what I like!” Futaba felt Aoi stirring despite his exhaustion, and stopped combing through the long strands to start massaging the base of his skull. “So of course, I have no idea what he wants, or what I should do, and I’ve tried it all, adding people to my landscapes, everything, and it always ends up looking so bad, how am I supposed to get good at painting people with so little time?”
Futaba kept on massaging the tense muscles on his neck, behind his ears, and softly pressed on his temple. When she pulled her fingers away from his face, he grabbed her hand and turned slightly to look at her.
“I’m sorry, I really shouldn’t be talking about this before we go to sleep.”
“It’s fine, Aoi, this is what’s on your mind, and I want to hear it. I want to know it all.”
Aoi pulled her hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to her open palm, fully moving to be face up.
“I feel like this assignment is ruining my art instead of pushing me to better stages.”
Futaba hummed, thinking of a way to be of help to Aoi. She didn’t like seeing him this desperate, and even if she knew artists could create their best works in times of stress, it didn’t calm her anxieties about his state.
She went over his words in her head while Aoi looked at her. He didn’t like this either, not being able to spend time with her, and dumping all his problems on her like that. He had to grow up, be more resourceful, be someone who could make her proud instead of worry.
He sat up and reached a hand to cup her cheek and traced her bottom lip with his thumb. Futaba looked at him and he waited for her to close the distance between them. However, that didn’t happen. Aoi looked at her with concern, but before his thoughts could run wild, she spoke.
“I don’t know much about painting but…” Her eyes were wide with uncertainty. Aoi remained silent, and she continued. “If you have tried adding people to your landscape paintings, and it hasn’t worked, maybe you could try adding the landscape paintings to people?”
Aoi’s brain short-circuited and she rushed to explain.
“You could… try to paint nature on people? Like, use people as your canvases maybe? That would combine humanity and nature, right? I know it’s a really stupid idea and you wouldn’t be able to present it like that to your teacher but it may help you wi-”
“No.” Aoi interrupted. “You’re a genius.”
That’s how they ended up in this predicament: Futaba with her kimono sleeves rolled up to her elbows, her hakama rolled up to her knees, in a small clear near Shinobazu pond, at noon.
“Aoi, are you sure no one can see us from here?” Futaba’s voice was only a hiss, worried as she was about being discovered.
“Yes, I made sure. No one comes to this area at this time anyway, but if they came, I would hear them.” He looked up from her ankle. “Are you sure you’re not cold?”
“I think I’m too embarrassed to be cold. And don’t say anything, I know I was the one who suggested this in the first place.” She closed her eyes, wanting to disappear. He placed a hand on the foot he hadn’t worked on yet and relaxed when he confirmed it wasn’t cold.
It was a sunny day, and it warmed them enough to make this possible during winter. However, Aoi was determined to not let her catch a cold. He resumed his work on her skin, the brush tickling her.
Blades of grass soon adorned her feet and climbed up her shins, and Aoi hummed to himself with satisfaction, a small smile hiding under his tousled hair. He propped himself up and pushed his bangs away from his eyes, and Futaba saw exactly how the paint stains appeared on his face. She smiled and looked at the creation on her skin. It was only the first time that he was doing that, but it looked perfect, like her legs were camouflaging with her surroundings.
“Okay, I’ll start with the arms now.” He moved closer to her, and sat down on the same mantelpiece she was sitting. He gently took her left hand and brought the plate with paint to his lap.
Aoi worked tirelessly, and yet, Futaba saw the shadows they projected on the ground slowly move. She wasn’t used to sitting down and barely moving for so long, and her bottom and legs were beginning to hurt. She didn’t know how Aoi couldn’t feel any tension in his body, but when she observed him attentively, he seemed to be in another world, one where only his brush and his ideas existed.
She shifted in her seat, trying to keep her arm as still as possible so as not to ruin the traces Aoi was working on. He fluttered his eyes and looked up at her as if he had come out of a trance.
“Are you okay? You must be getting tired.”
“It’s… my legs hurt from being in this position.” She didn’t want him to stop, but it was starting to take a toll on her.
“What about laying down? Would that help? You can move your legs if you want, I have only painted on the front of your limbs.” Futaba began leaning down, and Aoi supported her back in the process. “How are you feeling now?”
“Much better,” she replied with a smile. The problem was, now the sun couldn’t warm her. Aoi noticed she was completely in the shade and sighed pinching his nose.
“We’ll leave it here today,” he announced and proceeded to tidy up all his utensils.
“What? No, I’m fine Aoi, I can still keep going.” Futaba sat up again, but Aoi was firm in his decision. She gulped down, feeling defeated. She believed she wasn’t doing enough to help him. “Honestly, it’s fine. You don’t have that much time left…”
“Futaba, I am more selfish than you think,” he interrupted, turning to look at her. “You already did enough, I know you weren’t comfortable doing this here, and I’m sorry for it. I won’t allow you to catch a cold.”
“Maybe… we can continue back in Raccord?” She suggested, and Aoi almost clicked his tongue. Why was she humouring him so much? He didn’t reply, instead choosing to start bandaging her feet and legs so her clothes weren’t stained when she pulled down her hakama.
Futaba felt a shiver travelling through her body, causing her to tremble. Aoi looked up and frowned.
“I knew it.” That was the only thing he said, but Futaba could tell he was berating himself mentally. She pressed her lips and breathed.
“I didn’t shiver because I’m cold,” her voice was soft, like the caress of Aoi’s hands on her legs.
“Futaba, you don’t need to lie for my sake. Please, never lie for my sake.” He didn’t look up and focused on tying the knot on her knee.
“I’m not lying. It’s… it’s different.” She couldn’t find the words now that she had begun talking. Maybe it was too much after all. How was she going to be able to describe what he made her feel just by touching her skin? It mortified her, especially because Aoi wasn’t thinking like that. At that moment, she was just… a canvas he had to protect. A work in progress.
He didn’t waste time in bandaging her arm, making sure the white cloth was not too tight around her. When they arrived back in Raccord, the sky was already showing the first touches of orange and pink. Aoi looked at the clouds before closing the door behind him.
“Are you sure… it would be okay to continue?”
Futaba simply nodded and went up the stairs. Oji was too busy serving customers alone for once to notice they had entered, and they took the opportunity to not give any explanations. When they arrived in his room, Futaba started working on her clothes in a dark corner of the room while Aoi prepared the materials once again. He looked outside the window where the colours in the sky were mixing in such beautiful shapes as if daring him to try and copy that grandeur.
That gave him a new idea.
“Futaba, would it be okay to paint on you some more?” He broke the distance between them, making sure they were not seen from the window.
She simply nodded, extending her arm so he could unfold the bandage he had tied on her. He worked swiftly, and Futaba almost gasped when the branches with new buds appeared on her skin. Then, he bent down on one knee to work on the bandages of her legs.
Aoi stepped back when he was done, observing her.
“Would it be okay to paint on your collarbone area?”
She nodded without thinking, and when the words dawned on her, she fluttered her eyelids, embarrassed. Aoi noticed the change in her and smiled. He was glad to not be the only one who still could blush and get embarrassed by things like that.
He reached for her face and cupped her cheeks.
“May I kiss you?” It had been too long since they last shared a kiss, and no matter how much the assignment was weighing on him, there were certain things that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Futaba smiled and closed the space between them. They shared a tender kiss, their bodies relaxing to the touch.
“I… I really wish I could keep kissing you, but if we kiss again I may lose the ability to paint,” Aoi whispered. Futaba laughed.
“Don’t exaggerate, we’ve kissed in the past and you’re still an art genius.”
“Well, yeah, but I’m suffering severely from withdrawal from you, and if you give me anything more, I’ll… nothing will matter but you.”
Futaba felt a little stab at her heart and flicked Aoi’s forehead. He groaned, surprised.
“It’s not fair, you saying these things when I’ve been missing you for weeks.” Her voice sounded amused, but he knew better than to be fooled by that. He muttered an apology. “Now you know why I wanted to help you. I can’t wait for you to be done with your assignments.”
“Just… just for a little bit, okay?” Aoi buried his head on her shoulder, hugging her tightly to him. He had to become someone better for her. He couldn’t keep expecting her to wait for him, he couldn’t hurt her like that.
Futaba petted his hair, taking care not to press her arms against him, for fear the paint on her skin would chip further.
When they separated, Aoi had a newfound resolution in his eyes. He worked quickly on his tools, preparing the necessary materials to adorn her skin. When Futaba was seated by the window, her back to the outside, he observed the branches and buds on her forearms and added a few more, refining the lines. When he had worked on her other arm, he put his brush and little cup aside.
He retrieved one of the portable lamps and closed the curtains. Now in total darkness, he started unfastening the tight ribbon on Futaba’s ribcage. He didn’t dare look at her, for he knew he’d turn into a nervous mess if he saw the expression she had on her face. This simple gesture reminded him of other evenings, other nights, where they had also been alone in the darkness of his room. He couldn’t be thinking about those things.
He soon worked on Futaba’s upper layers, making her collarbone appear.
“Is this okay?” He still didn’t look at her, but focused on making sure her chest was still mostly covered by the clothes. Futaba nodded, and Aoi did the same, taking his brush and palette again.
The sky proved to be more difficult, and Aoi had to close his eyes and look on his mind’s eye for the colours and shapes. However, the skin of Futaba’s collarbone was different, and it made the brush run smoothly. The paint really stood out there, almost as if it was floating.
He stood up and walked away, observing all the different parts, the grass on her legs, the branches on her arms, the sunset sky on her collarbone and shoulders. Suddenly, there weren’t just parts, but everything collided into one, into her, into forming a scene in nature.
It was as if he was looking at Futaba and at his dear scenery at the same time, and something shifted inside of him.
“I… I see.” He muttered, but what he meant was I get it now. He looked at her, thoughts running through his head. “Can we… can you put up with this for a while longer?”
The worry in his voice made her understand it was not going to be a little while. But she could also hear the revelation that was taking place inside of him.
He quickly scrambled for a canvas and took the easel from his place against the wall. Then, everything happened like in a dream, a dream that held both of them in its arms.
Futaba watched Aoi’s movements attentively and found herself totally absorbed in a moment that stretched forever. Aoi worked frantically, not wanting to lose whatever had sparked inside him. He knew a single flame was difficult to keep fanning without extinguishing it. Yet, he didn’t know how, but he managed to protect it and let its light guide him for the entire journey of his painting.
When it finally appeared in its whole completion before him, Aoi felt as if he hadn’t been the one painting it. And yet, he remembered every stroke, every little detail and decision.
“Aren’t you tired yet?” She asked after a while when Aoi was focusing on finer details of the painting. Feeling his gaze so closely, so critically looking at her had instilled doubts in her mind.
“I’m used to painting for hours on end without a real break.”
“I’m not talking about painting per se. I’m talking about… having to stare at me so much, I’m sure my face gets weird the longer you look at it, and not to talk about my body…” Futaba trailed off, wanting to turn around. But she had to stay still, and it almost felt like her body didn’t belong to her anymore. To what, she wasn’t entirely sure. Maybe to that scene.
“No, it doesn’t. If anything, I find new little details to love.” Aoi brushed his bangs away while refocusing on the canvas.
Futaba wanted to hold his hand, but he was too far away, and she was supposed to stay still anyway.
“And what about… having to spend so much time with me all of a sudden? Aren’t you tired of me? I bet artists need solitude.”
“Of you? Never.” Aoi looked back at her with a serious expression. “You are getting tired of this, aren’t you? That’s why you’re asking all these questions.”
“N-no!” Futaba raised her hands to quickly put them down again. “It’s just… you have a lot on your plate with Art school and Raccord and whatnot… and I don’t want to be another burden, I bet you’re already-”
“Futaba.” Aoi put down his brush. He knew it. The painting was done. Anything else was just selfish buffoonery. He got up to get closer to her. “It’s finished, and it was only possible thanks to you.” He took her hands and made her stand up. “You’re worried I’m tired, but you know what? I can’t get enough of you.”
“Oh, come on! You don’t need to keep courting me.” Futaba giggled, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes.
“You don’t believe me? Let me prove it to you.”
His hand found anchor on the back of her head, his other arm shooting to the wall behind them. Aoi pressed his body against her until there was nowhere else to go, and Futaba felt that in that moment, pressed against the wall and against him, she felt freer to move than she had in the entire day.
Her lips found his immediately and a passion they hadn’t let wild until that moment finally soared to the surface. They kissed with the raw intensity of lovers who have missed each other for longer than they could endure. When they lost their breath, Aoi was the first to pull away, in search of other places to kiss. When he saw her collarbone and shoulders covered in paint – his paint – he almost wanted to scream. He wanted to kiss her, lap and suck at her skin, paint it with only his love, nothing else, and imprint his affection deep in her bones. But he couldn’t. He gave up and kissed her along her jaw, going down to her neck, caressing her skin with his lips and nose, savouring her taste, her scent. He wanted to get lost in her essence.
Futaba trembled and felt all the weight of the day pushing down on her. Now that she could finally do what she most desired, her body seemed to rebel against her. Still, she tried to fight the fatigue. Her hands roamed through his chest, his arms, his shoulders and back, taking all of him in through her tactile sense. She wanted to renew the map of him she had inside of her.
When Aoi engulfed one of her earlobes between his lips, Futaba’s legs gave out. He caught her before she could slide to the floor, but it was a wake-up call.
“We should go to sleep.” Aoi smiled softly at her, helping her sit down on the floor. “You stay here.”
He went to fetch a washbasin and an old towel. He poured as little water as necessary and came back next to her.
While rubbing the paint off Futaba’s skin, Aoi came to a realisation. Both nature and humans were temporary. Just like the paint on her skin couldn’t last forever, no human could last forever, no state of nature could last forever. Everything was ephemeral, but even in that transition, he had her love. Her love was his, and his love was hers, and that was the only thing that could transcend time.
He bowed to always remember that and honour the treasure that their love was. He would protect it, he wouldn’t let anyone erase it, but he knew he also had to accept that one day, that love could choose to disappear, to shift on its own. And he had to treasure it while it was still in his hands.
After her skin was fresh and clean, he quickly tidied up the room. Meanwhile, Futaba changed out of her day clothes into the nightgown she kept at his place. It was a secret only she and Aoi knew, and it was usually buried under all his clothes, to ensure no one found out about it. She revelled in their secret, the quiet intimacy that this simple fact proved they shared. She extended the futon and got under the covers.
When he changed out of his clothes, Futaba wondered how it was possible to love someone so much. She wanted to share more ordinary moments with him like this. She longed for a domestic life together, one where they didn’t need to hide or be quiet.
He got under the covers next to her and made sure to tuck them in. He then held her face, kissing her cheeks, forehead, and nose. She was warm and Aoi sighed with relief. She kissed him softly on the lips and reached for his hands, placing them under the covers and intertwining their fingers.
“Goodnight, Aoi.”
“Goodnight, Futaba. Thank you for everything you did today.”
She shook her hand, a small smile gracing her features.
“I love you.”
He repeated the words back and exhaled with peace, closing his eyes. It wasn’t long when he heard Futaba’s soft breathing, signalling she had already fallen asleep. He turned to look at the canvas that was drying against the wall. Futaba’s hands tugged slightly at his, and he looked once more at her relaxed face.
He really was a fortunate ayakashi.

Promises
Pairing: Koga Kitamikado x Futaba Saotome | Ayakashi Romance Reborn
Rating: M
Contents: fluff with minimal angst, childhood friends, spoilers for Koga’s route, friendship between adults that are attracted to each other, teasing, flirting, sexual tension, mentions of sex
Word count: 3.890
Summary: What if Koga and Futaba had met each other when they were kids? What would be their relationship right now?
“Do you want to be my friend? I’m not stupid, I promise.”
.
.
“It’s not funny, take responsibility for the fact that it’s your fault I’m not being courted by other men!”
AU where Futaba lived in the village nearby as a child and human beings know of the existence of Ayakashi – they keep their original forms instead of pretending to be human.
Disclaimer: Contains SPOILERS for Koga’s route.
While reading both Koga and Kuya’s route I thought Teach had a lot of kids under his care but after reading more I realised I was mistaken. In this one shot, Teach cares for more children, almost like he is running a sort of orphanage in the mountains.
A/N: I wanted to write a Koga/Futaba as “siblings” fic because their relationship in Koga’s route screamed best friends to me instead of romance, but turns out my brain is too damn focused on people being attracted to each other. This was also inspired by all the events where we see Futaba’s past self having a twin brother – but we never actually see the twin brother. For a while, I thought the twin brother would be one of the Ayakashi, because his CG was never shown, soooo…. This was born. (Also please Koga and Futaba aren’t real siblings they are just friends so this isn’t weird okay? okay).
Koga runs after the older boys under Teach’s care. They’ve been teasing him, bringing up the carnage and making up stories about why he’s all alone in the mountains and doesn’t have a family. Sometimes they say he lost control of himself and he killed his own family, and sometimes he feels so desperate and heartbroken that the guilt starts morphing into fake memories to blame himself. Today, they simply said no one in their right minds would want to be friends with him, let alone start a family with him. No one wants a ticking bomb, and the carnage is something he cannot keep under control.
Koga is running so aggressively that no one notices the tears streaming down his face. It is then that one of the boys trips over something, that something being Futaba’s stretched legs. The boy quickly picks himself up, just before Koga can think of whether to strike at him or simply yell. Koga heaves next to Futaba, finally wiping away his tears, leaving dirty traces on his face.
“Did you also fall down?” Futaba asks.
Koga looks down at her, eyebrows still furrowed, fists still balled, and wonders how this little girl has the courage to talk to an Oni boy like him as if it’s nothing. Doesn’t she think he’s going to kill her?
“No.”
“Then why were you crying?”
“Because those boys are stupid.”
Futaba nods, not asking further, as if she knows exactly what he’s talking about. And she knows because she also has stupid girls who make her cry.
“Do you want to be my friend? I’m not stupid, I promise.”
Koga looks at Futaba, believing she’s right out of her mind, but also believing she’s the only person that can serve as proof that his future won’t be what those boys are spreading around.
“I’m not stupid either,” Koga replies.
“I could tell.”
“How?”
“I’ve been watching you.”
Futaba doesn’t move one inch, and Koga starts thinking that maybe she is really good at camouflaging with the surroundings, so his instincts haven’t taken notice of her before.
“Why?” Koga finally asks, and he sounds breathless like he hasn’t been standing like a tree next to her.
“I don’t know. I wanted to.” Futaba looks away and shuffles her feet, moving the loose stones under them. “I like looking at you.” She keeps looking in the opposite direction to Koga, as if she’s embarrassed to admit it, but she is simply scared.
“No one likes looking at me. I’m an Oni.”
“So what?”
Koga hesitates, seriously wanting to make her understand, perhaps so that she understands she shouldn’t be speaking to him, not if she wants to survive and be normal, not if she wants to have friends.
“People imagine everything I could do when they look at me.”
Futaba finally looks at Koga, her face as serene as when she called out to him.
“Isn’t that great? You could do millions of different things.”
“You know they only imagine me killing and destroying. Nothing great about that.”
“Can’t you have some fun? Pretend they see the best in you, and it scares them so much, they lie to you about it.”
What?
Koga is so dumb-founded that even if he wanted to laugh, he doesn’t have the strength for it.
“You said you weren’t stupid,” Koga accuses.
“I’m not. Thinking as I do is smarter than crying and running after stupid people.”
Koga grits his teeth and his fits return to their habitual position, but his feet don’t move. Instead of leaving, he suddenly sits down next to her violently. He must be really strong, because my bum would hurt if I sat like that, Futaba thinks.
“Teach me to think the way you do.”
“What?”
“You heard me. If you’re not stupid… I want to know if you are happier than me.” Koga looks at his lap, unsure of how to act around her.
Happier than you…
“I think you can probably figure it out if I spend so much of my time looking at you.” Futaba stares at his profile, wanting to touch his horns.
“How often do you cry?”
Futaba purses her lips. He is coming on strong, straight to the point.
“If you had watched me, you’d know.” Her tone is annoyed now, and she looks away from him.
So you’re not telling.
“What’s your name?”
“Futaba Saotome.”
Koga waits, but nothing else comes.
“Aren’t you gonna ask me my name?” He finally looks at her.
“I already know it.”
“Oh yeah, I bet you only know how others call me, not my real name,” Koga says bitterly.
“You’re Koga Kitamikado.”
His anger diffusing, Koga looks at her without blinking.
“You can learn a lot of things when you are alone in silence.”
“So you are alone a lot?”
Futaba only nods, feeling the words start to get stuck in her throat.
“You’re not one of Teach’s,” Koga says as if implying she’s lying.
“I have my dad, but he’s away a lot. He has to travel for business.” It’s not that he doesn’t love me.
“Oh.” Koga looks away. “Must be nice seeing him when he gets back.”
“It is, we always make sure to eat dinner together as a family.”
Koga only swallows, fighting to keep his breathing steady.
“You could come one day, if you wanted to.” Futaba ads when Koga keeps being silent, in hopes of breaking the barrier, but Koga doesn’t look back at her and doesn’t answer.
“You don’t have to do this.” Koga finally says, as if rejecting what he thinks is pity, when in reality all he wants is to say yes.
“Do what?”
“Be nice to me. I don’t need it. I don’t want your kindness.”
“But I want you to be my friend.”
“Why?” Koga almost shouts, suddenly looking at her as if she had hit him.
Futaba doesn’t have an answer because she finds too many. Because she’s alone. Because he seems strong, and that’s something she admires. Because he is similar to her, and she wants someone that can relate to her. And because she just doesn’t understand what everyone sees in the fact that he’s an Oni.
“You don’t want to be my friend?” Futaba asks.
“It’s been a long time since I’d had a friend.”
“Me too.”
They stay in silence for so long that the final lights of the day recede into darkness.
“I should go home.” Futaba finally speaks but doesn’t move.
“Yeah, me too.” Koga doesn’t move either.
“We can see each other tomorrow,” Futaba says, and it sounds like a question.
“Yeah, if you come out here, I can find you.”
“I could show you my house when my dad is around.”
“I don’t know,” Koga replies. He’s not sure Futaba’s father would be that happy about her daughter interacting with an Oni ogre.
“I know,” Futaba says resolutely and quickly stands up. “It’s a promise. Here tomorrow, same time as today.”
“Okay.”
“I didn’t hear you promise it.”
Koga rolls his eyes but obliges.
“I promise. Now run home or your neighbours will start talking.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow.”
“Yeah, yeah, see you tomorrow.”
Futaba smiles and waves at him from afar. Koga stays put until she disappears behind the furthest house. He can’t remember when it was the last time he made a promise like this with someone. It feels good but it’s scary at the same time. He starts heading home, but Futaba’s presence never really leaves him. Even when he has to deal with others making fun of him while eating dinner, the fact that someone out there is waiting for him comforts Koga.
~
It’s been years now since those two lost kids found each other, and instead of living in the mountains they live in the Capital, but they still see each other as often.
“Can you believe Masanobu’s mother thinks we’re actually a couple?” Futaba brings up one day when they are cooking chestnuts together.
Koga simply laughs but says nothing.
“It’s not funny, take responsibility for the fact that it’s your fault I’m not being courted by other men!”
Koga keeps watching the chestnuts closely, focusing all his attention on the cooking, pretending Futaba’s reprimand has nothing to do with him.
“You know I’m not the only one this situation is bad for.”
“I’m fine the way things are.” Koga’s voice is full of joy, and that irritates Futaba.
“What? Don’t you want to get a girl and start a family someday? Don’t pretend because I know you go to the entertainment quarter.”
“I enjoy drinking more than I enjoy women. Besides, I already have enough with you.”
“You may think it’s sweet, but it is not.”
Koga doesn’t talk back and causally takes one of the chestnuts, putting it aside to cool down.
“You seriously don’t want children?”
“What for? I know I’ll succumb to the carnage one day. I don’t want to risk hurting them, and I don’t want to leave anyone behind.”
“Oh yeah? What about me then? You won’t leave me behind?”
Koga grits his teeth and steels himself, as if he’s waiting for yet another blow.
“You’re not going to say anything?” Futaba pleads, feeling like the room is suddenly freezing even with all the heat coming from the pan.
Koga keeps avoiding her gaze as if regretting having ever said anything. Just like how he wonders if she ever regrets talking to him that day when they were kids.
“I don’t want to leave you either.”
“Then don’t.”
Koga feels the shadow of a bitter smile spreading across his face, but somehow it doesn’t reach the surface.
“I can’t control it.”
“But you can try.”
“You think I’m not trying?” Koga raises his voice and for the first time properly faces her.
“You’re not trying hard enough if you don’t want to risk loving more people.”
“It’s not that easy.”
“It is in my eyes.”
“Oh, yeah? Then how come you’re just as single as I am? And don’t put all the blame on me.”
Futaba hesitates, wondering when Koga started being able to understand her so well.
“We’re just a pair of lone wolfs, aren’t we?” Koga nudges her when he sees she’s not looking up. Having spent so many years together, he can feel her mood changes just as if they were his. “Come on, lift those spirits! Look, the chestnuts are finally done, what do you say?”
Futaba peeks at the pan and nods, quietly bringing the saucer to pour the food in. They set about to peel the chestnuts and eat them quietly in the living room, and even if after that much time they’ve been in all kinds of situations together, Koga still prefers it when Futaba is her usual chatty self.
Koga looks every now and then at Futaba, but she’s completely focused on chestnut after chestnut. He’s never felt that invisible before, except maybe some other time she also used the silent treatment.
“You seriously think I went through all the trouble of staying by your side for more than a decade now, just to leave and feel nothing about it?”
Futaba looks at him without raising her head, as if she’s lost all her strength.
“I’m not going to disappear on you, so you better disappear on me and find a good husband.”
“You think all that matters to me is finding a good husband?” Futaba finally speaks, her voice strained like she’s holding back a bite.
“You sounded quite concerned about it earlier,” Koga teases, knowing it’s going to be worse but enjoying the journey. It isn’t often that Futaba lets her emotions waver so much and shares it with him. One needs some fun every now and then.
“Sometimes… sometimes I get scared that…” Futaba’s voice dies in her throat, and Koga realizes now that she wasn’t hiding anger but tears.
He reaches for the hand that is still holding the half-peeled chestnut and takes it away from her, not without squeezing it lovingly, and then finishes peeling the fruit for her.
“You want me to feed it to you now that there’s no one around yet to get jealous?” Koga smirks seductively at her.
“You know those tricks don’t work with me, right?”
“That’s why I do them.”
Futaba exhales and finally stares straight at Koga.
“What if I never find someone I can feel as comfortable with as you?”
Koga ends up eating the chestnut he just peeled and begins to peel another one before replying.
“You know, a lot of people find it thrilling to be nervous around their partners. Wanting to impress and all that jazz.”
“What if I never find someone I can admire as much as I admire you?”
Koga looks up and chuckles.
“Don’t admire me. You know I do things you don’t like.”
Futaba keeps silent.
“Besides, a husband doesn’t have to be everything in your life. Some people just marry for comfort – a house, a lifestyle – other people only care about having a physical relationship, and that’s-“
“What would you marry for?” Futaba interrupts.
“I told you I don’t want to get married.”
“What if you weren’t a chicken and had the guts to marry, what would you marry for?” Futaba snarls.
Koga peels another chestnut while thinking.
“There are two answers, one you’re not gonna like.” Koga waits for Futaba’s answer, but it doesn’t come. “Okay, I’d marry for sex, and I’d marry for company.”
“So you do have reasons to marry.”
“You know I go to the entertainment quarter, and I already have plenty of company with you.”
“But don’t you want everything from the same person?” Futaba stares at him, trying to understand his point of view.
“One person doesn’t have to give it all to you, and there’s no way anyone could fulfil all your needs. Marriage was an economic matter, not a matter of love, before all this romantic nonsense came along.”
“I don’t think loving someone is nonsensical.”
“It is crazy.” Koga stands up.
“I think it’s fun.” Futaba’s voice sounds small.
“Yeah? You think that because you’re crazy.”
He leaves the room and comes back with a bottle of sake and a little cup to drink from.
“I never thought you’d be so scared of loving someone.” Futaba casually brings back the topic while Koga is sipping his sake.
“You should be scared of loving me. Anyone in their right mind would be scared of loving an Oni ogre.”
“Why would I?”
Koga doesn’t set down his drink but he looks coldly at her.
“I think anyone would die or at least be severely injured if you stabbed them on the chest, but try that with me and the one who’s dead is you. Isn’t that scary?”
“It just means you’re strong.”
“It means I’m a monster.” Koga drinks again, focusing on the burn in his throat to avoid feeling a different kind of bitterness.
“Weapons don’t have to be used for war. You have the power to protect those you love.”
“And I also lack the control to not kill them in the process. We’ve had this conversation plenty of times, enough already.”
Koga continues to sip with sake, and the silence that ensues gives him the false sense that Futaba has dropped the subject for good.
“Why didn’t you push me away?”
“Believe me, I also wonder that myself.” Koga sighs.
“Stop joking, I’m asking seriously.”
He puts the vase away and looks at Futaba.
“I honestly don’t know. Maybe because I was so scared of being completely alone for the rest of my life, that the prospect of someone wanting to be my friend comforted me. Maybe because I was more hopeful than I am now, and I thought a different future could await me if only I believed in it.”
“You don’t know when the carnage is going to take hold of you completely.”
“But I know what’s going to happen after that.”
“You could live a hundred years completely alone.”
“So be it.”
“You could marry and your wife would still die before the carnage took the best of you.”
“I don’t want a married life with the promise of a threat always looming around.”
“What if I promised I’d protect her against you if it came to that?”
“And how would you do that exactly?”
“I don’t know. I could learn.”
“And spend your time being my wife’s bodyguard? You know the carnage could be triggered at any point, you should have your own life.”
“You should have your own life too, not just wait around until the carnage decides it’s time.”
“Do I look like I’m just waiting around to you?”
“Honestly? Yes.”
Koga smiles but his eyes show his feelings have been hurt. Futaba doesn’t recede, though she is not amused by that sight.
“Tell me one thing you are looking forward, one thing you are working on, one thing that excites you about the near future, about life right now.” Futaba places her hands on the table, leaning forward.
Koga stays silent for a bit, before picking up one of the half-peeled chestnuts.
“These are good. I’m enjoying them.”
“I’m talking bigger than that. Something that…” Futaba struggles to put her feelings into words. “Something that can carry you. Something that weighs down the scale towards happiness.”
Koga looks at her, knowing his answer before he can be sure if he wants to say it out loud.
“Then that would be you.”
Futaba starts and leans back, sitting down a bit straighter. She didn’t see that coming.
“Don’t act so surprised, you know everything about me, did you think I had some special person that I kept hidden from you?” Koga chuckles, but he can also feel his hands starting to damp.
“I… I don’t know.”
“Come on, now’s the time when you say I also bring you happiness. Don’t go breaking my heart, Futaba.”
She knows Koga is just teasing her, and she wants to feign being angry, or be able to tease back, but all she can do is keep being dumb-founded and feel a hotness she had long forgotten begin crawling over her cheeks. If Koga notices it, he does nothing to give it away. His words had brought back memories of their youth, back when Koga wasn’t that stubborn and she thought they could have a chance. A chance at love.
“You hurt me, you know you only have to say it if my presence is not welcome in this house,” Koga continues the teasing.
“You know it’s funny,” Futaba starts. If they’re going to be close friends for their entire lives, they need to be comfortable with anything. That includes their past feelings. “You were the one who actually broke my heart back in the day.”
Koga’s smile fades instantly.
“What do you mean?”
“Exactly what you think I mean.”
Koga keeps looking at her, almost asking why she’s bringing up this now.
“It just reminded me of it, the way you teased me about not saying you’re my source of happiness.”
Koga nods, as if that’s all he needs for an explanation.
“But don’t worry, it’s not like that anymore. That’s why I’m mad you’re like a barrier that prevents other men from approaching me, you know? Although my dad is forever indebted to you for that, as always.” Futaba laughs lightly.
Koga doesn’t laugh along like he usually would have. He’s also not looking at her in the eye anymore.
“I also felt the same way about you, back then.” His mouth feels dry.
Futaba blinks in confusion.
“No, you didn’t.”
“Oh, yes I did, Miss Futaba.”
She can’t believe what she’s hearing.
“What? When? I didn’t… but you…” Futaba frowns and interrupts herself, her thoughts a hurried mess.
“It’s in the past so I don’t think it’s worth uncovering it further.”
“Why did you just tell me then?”
Koga sighs, feeling completely overpowered by her.
“I don’t want to say it.”
“Oh, no, you can’t do this to me. You know me. I’ll stay up at night thinking about this.”
“Then I’ll give you one more thing to think about.”
Koga can almost hear Futaba complaining and whining, as much as the promise of an answer has silenced her.
“I promise you that if you find yourself without a husband when you’re long past your prime, I’ll stay with you forever.”
“Is this a marriage proposal?”
“I hope you find yourself a good husband.”
“So you’re not scared of the carnage with me?”
Koga smiles, feeling even more defeated, like pouty in her hands.
“I’m more scared of giving you up because of it.”
Futaba blinks in confusion, not allowing herself to feel happy just yet.
“But you don’t want to marry me now.”
“Exactly. And I think you feel the same way about me.” Koga nods.
“But you would marry me in the future?”
“Only if you’re not married already.”
“But you said you wanted sex besides company.”
Koga rolls his eyes.
“You never forget anything I say, don’t you?” Koga looks away, breathing in and steeling himself. “I’ll be honest, I have imagined having sex with you.”
Futaba can’t believe her ears.
“And you’d be fine with me?” She almost shouts in disbelief.
“You sometimes feel too much like a sister for that, but even now, I feel sometimes you’d be just perfect.”
Futaba is too surprised to feel ashamed or embarrassed, but Koga is already feeling the effects of laying himself bare in front of her.
“But I’m not like those girls that entertain you.” I’m as inexperienced as I could be, she wants to add.
“I know. Experience can bring technique, but feeling, intensity… that’s something entirely different. You never act around me. You don’t have to please me. Sometimes I imagine how that would translate in bed.”
Futaba’s mouth dries when she hears his use of the present tense.
“You really need to meet other people.” She finally croaks.
Koga laughs.
“Don’t worry, I promise I don’t imagine it when you’re around, only when I’m alone-“ Koga is interrupted by a couple of chestnuts beating against his chest. “Okay, okay, I’ll quit joking around.” He laughs it off and picks up the chestnuts from where they have landed on the floor.
“The offer still stands if you want it, though. I was serious about marrying you if you don’t find anyone else. Unless you’d rather be single than marry me.”
Futaba hesitates for a second, then decides to be honest both with herself and with Koga.
“We already have the companionship, it wouldn’t be that bad seeing how the rest would be with you,” she admits wanting to sound cool but failing, feeling too weak to not keep her gaze past Koga.
“Sounds great to me. Now, open wide,” Koga winks as he presses a peeled chestnut against Futaba’s lips. As she feels the light trace of his finger against her lower lip when he pulls back, she wonders if perhaps having him as a shield against other men isn’t so bad.
She quickly rejects that thought. She is still young and healthy and likes the idea of creating a family while she can. Koga can stay as the uncle to her children.
A/N: I was unsure if there’s too much dialogue and not enough mentions of who is speaking and when, and descriptions of the action. Please let me know if anything is unclear!

If the ayakashi were reborn as CATS 🐈
Koga: the playful house cat 🧶 - he needs his daily playtime. Very energetic and loves to chase that cat toy you bought for him but never too energetic that he might break things and the like. He is very careful when walking and wouldn't step on your things carelessly.
Kuya: the sleepyhead 😴 - sleeps all the time and the perfect cuddle buddy. Sometimes you feel annoyed because he sleeps in front of your computer without a care.
Ginnojo: the adorable library cat 📖 - he is usually found on some table with a book open in front of him and looks deep in thought. His soft paw would poke at your hand when you try to turn the page. He loves head pats and usually seen on instagram as the beloved library cat.
Aoi: the stray cat 🐾 - he would one day come knocking on your door for some food but WOULD NEVER LET YOU PET HIM. LIKE NEVER. Well maybe only when he's all asleep in front of your house and can't resist or wouldn't mind you petting him but you can never pet him while he's awake. He would also sleep in the box you gave him by your door -- but not always
Yura: the sweets-loving cat 🍦 - for some reason, this cat prefers sweet things. He's the cat in the park and would definitely meow loudly whenever he sees people having a picnic and eating cake or some other sweets. He would be definitely the cat that would lick a child's fallen ice cream off the pavement.
Toichiro: the mischievous cat 😼 - the cat that is very mischievous and will most definitely be up at 2 am to pull on your bathroom tissue and just knock things over. He may have broken a few houseplants in their cute little pots and even broke the plants themselves after playing with them and the leaves and stems just broke. As a cat with instincts, he also hunts and leaves dead animals on your front door... And he is the cat who would definitely sit on you as you sleep...But at the end of it all, he’s just so cute when he’s asleep and you love him anyway.
Shizuki: the snow-loving cat ❄ - cats hate the cold weather and usually just stay indoors to keep warm because they are sensitive to the cold, but for some reason, this cat is a curious one because he keeps staring outside through the window during winter. You will find his eyes fixated on the falling snow and his head bobs up and down as he watches the snow. If you go outside, he will look at you with that pleading eyes so you'll take him out as well and you'll find that he's a cute playmate as you make a snowman with him watching you and leaving paw prints on the snow. He looks so cute with the scarf you tied on his neck and the cat sweater you made him wear to keep him warm so he doesn't get sick.
Kuro: the playful neighborhood cat 🥰 - everybody's playmate and everyone in the neighborhood knows him. Most usually hangs out at the playground where kids will pet and play with him. Visits different houses for his meals and always welcomed dearly.
Oji: the cat that seems to see something you don’t 👁 - he would hiss while looking at the corner of your house like he can see something there. He does this at a specific time everyday which is really weird. At first, you try to soothe him by petting him but it doesn’t work because he would just shake your hand off and continue hissing.
Gaku: the contemplative cat 🤔 - the cat that just stares into space, like he’s thinking about something important -- which he actually is because I’m pretty sure he’s still thinking of Futaba ~ (he did promise he’ll look for her again even in their next lives so...) A lot of people like to take pictures of him because he sits still and just looks cute. Aside from that he’s also the cat who will take the sweets he received to the cat in the park aka Yura the cat. He still doesn’t like sweets despite being reborn.
Nachi: the market cat 🐟 - always at the market where he gets leftover fish or where he gets the fish innards when the fishmonger cleans the fishes... (which is typical Nachi)
Akiyasu: the antisocial cat 🙀 - well he hates cats so... I’m guessing he wouldn’t want to be in front of the mirror and jumps whenever he sees his reflection. He doesn’t want to interact with other cats. And he’s black and white.
Kagemaru: the beautiful cat that people will mistake as a girl because of the pink ribbon tied to its neck 🎀 - He’s the cat of a rich bratty girl who likes to dress up her cat in cute dresses and pink.
Tatsuomi: the cat model 😎 - so maybe Tatsu may be bad with clothing choices but as a cat he landed an owner that loves to dress up cats so they always get him to do the catwalk while trying out different outfits. OR he can be the loyal cat of a soldier who never returned and currently stays at their barracks
Yakumo: the clingy cat 😽 - the cat that would follow you wherever you go inside the house (yes, that includes the bathroom) and would definitely look at you with pleading eyes whenever you leave the house. He's the cat that would constantly ask for your attention and even likes to take baths with you.

YURA IS A DISNEY PRINCESS CONFIRMED
Look at how those animals offer him stuff to hear his music. If that isn't proof enough, idk what is.
Would've been better if he's in his adult form so he has long hair like a princess

Yura headcanon
Gaku always eats sweets with a ton of wasabi just so he can join Yura and his sweet tooth. One day, Yura decides that he’s going to join Gaku in eating spicy foods and he would pour a ton of syrup on it 🍯
And as usual everyone else looks on curiously at how weird they eat together.
