Part 1 of my Acquaintance or Nuisance AU, formerly Axolotl's Messenger AU

updates might be a little slow, but I'm excited that I can properly introduce this au :) not sure if I'll manage to stay consistent with 3 pages per part, but we'll see

Rose’s Mafia AU

Rose (Rose) - The Boss. They run the entire gang and everyone answers to them. Has a final say in all decisions.

@a-fucking-nerd (Sunflower) - The Advisor/Right Hand Man. Their purpose is to act as a step in for the boss when needed, and grant any advice when wished for.

@gummy-axolotl Gummy (Cosmo) - The Thief. Their purpose is to steal items and sell them for illegal auctions.

@oogaboogaspookyman (Orchid) - The Dirty Cop. The man on the inside helping sabotage evidence and keep everyone out of jail.

@laurenashleysparks (Daisy) - The Doctor. Their purpose is quite simple. They patch up the gunshot wounds from fights and tend to the wellbeing of the group.

@sweetlittletangerine (Dahlia) - The Double Agent/Spy. They serve to help gather information on other gangs and targets.

@starryyskies (Aster) - The Sniper/Assassin. They act as the gang’s assassin taking out people of interest from afar.

@bunny-j3st3r (Hyacinth) - The Bodyguard. They stick close to the Boss at all times and protect them.

@frost-can-bite (Crocus) - The Weapons Expert. Their job ranges anything from making weapons to bomb diffusing. Anything that has to do with something going boom, this is your guy.

@sm-babie (Lotus) - The Business Man/Lawyer. They keep the clubs and real estate the mob owns in order and also works to keep the gang out of jail.

@butchwaifu (Oleander) - The Money launder. Their job is to make sure all money from the gang seems 100% legal.

@superchillingman (Borage) - The Scientist. They are important for finding people using technology such as fingerprints and DNA.

@helljuice (Gladiolus) - The Messenger/Ambassador. They are the one who delivers messages around the city to other mobs, representing the gang.

@torchiiko (Magnolia) - The House Keeper. They keep the base clean and tidy, also working as the personal chef. In offering their services for the mob, they receive secure protection.

@cconcerned (Zinnia) - Bartender/Bouncer. They work up in the actual nightclub, and are in charge of the entrance to the underground base. They are in charge of the codes used to identify who is allowed and not allowed downstairs.

A more random assortment again this time, rather than any sort of theme or order.

Xornoth has barn owl wings and keeps barn owls as messenger birds (this was decided before I went onto the wikipedia page for barn owls and found out they apparently are sometimes known as demon owls)

Scott and Xornoth were born in autumn, pretty much exactly halfway between summer and winter

I've decided that Jimmy should be taller for this AU, so he's 7 foot 6 now (still shorter than his sister, but only by three feet rather than almost four)

Maintaining large crop fields can be difficult in mountainous areas, so the mountain elves get a lot of their food supplies through hunting, they place a lot of cultural importance on this, it is taught from a young age, hunting weapons are very valuable and are usually made to commission to be very personalised both in terms of function and decor, gifting someone a hunting weapon is a great and meaningful gesture

All this to say, Xornoth proposed to Joey not with a ring, but an intricately crafted hunting knife

Lizzie taught Jimmy how to dance when they were younger, luckily dancing in the ocean is very different from dancing on land, or it would have been very awkward because at the time she was like twice his height (incidentally, she currently is about twice Joel's height, and he can only dance on land, I'll let you picture that for yourself)

The people of Mezalea, including Joel, are of a humanoid species known as clay folk, who reproduce by sculpting more of their kind, Joel made a lot of them after he first arrived in Mezalea on his own, but they soon started creating more clay folk as well to quickly grow the population

Lizzie and Jimmy are the two remaining children of the Great Leviathan, the primordial god of the Ocean, who used to rule all the waters of the world, before its two heads got into conflict with each other and it split apart and died, leaving its clutch of eggs unattended and undefended to be eaten by predators until one of the last two finally hatched

The Great Leviathan's two skulls can still be found somewhere in the world, artifacts of great power to be gifted to its children, the Axolotl Skull for the Axolotl Empress and the Cod Skull for the Cod Prince (equivalent of Scott's antlers and Xornoth's horns, crossed for Jimmy with the Codfather Head)

this idea came to me in a dream. quite literally. the brain is a wonderful organ (is it bad that i created a whole au because of a dream. Is that something i should be concerned about)

anyways,

meet PISCIS ROSEUS .

which, PLEASE correct me if im wrong, translates to pink fish in latin! as the name of the au suggests, Roseus is basically The Axolotl's messenger. kind of?

the au takes place after weirdmageddon, and instead of Bill being in the theraprism, The Axolotl decides that he should be revived and put back into Gravity Falls. just... under supervision, that is. Roseus is The Axolotl's creation (is NOT the Axolotl themself), and is essentially Bill's guardian. The Axolotl can view through Roseus' third eye and communicate with them through it, seen here

Bill, on the other hand, is very much irritated that he constantly has to be baby-sat by a pink, frilly salamander— let alone their creation that, for some reason, looks like him. The Axolotl thought it was a good idea to make Roseus have a similar appearance to Bill so they could connect with each other more easily. (Bill absolutely DESPISES it)

The Axolotl gives them insight on what to do, maybe some advice or guidance.

what makes it even worse for Bill is that his powers have been revoked, and can only float around... with some limitations.

this is literally. almost exactly roseus' character!! they are definitely fun and tease bill a lot, but they're usually polite and patient with him (or at least try to be). they're kind of like mabel? kinda. not really. just not as crazy as her

AND YES!!!!! YES YES. roseus will absolutely ignore the fact that they were just made to serve the axolotl and help bill. is that really all they're for? they sometimes question their existence and why they couldn't be more, but that would be questioning the axolotl. they're scared to admit that they may possibly be disrespecting the one who quite literally created them and could remove them from existence within a second.

anyway, not sure if this shows anything more about their personality, but they like to talk a lot when they get the chance to and especially to bill! roseus is forbidden to interact with anyone else except for bill and the axolotl, obviously. gravity falls has probably had enough of interdimensional triangles. imagine the townsfolk seeing another one but pink and somehow more stylish

HOWEVERRRR... the pines family eventually find out about roseus (and about bill coming back. in their words, "he's basically a cockroach").

and yes, if you're wondering, bill likes to piss off roseus a LOT. for him, he just finds it hilarious whenever their composure starts to break.

in turn, roseus will occasionally drop the most embarrassing and diabolical things that bill has done so casually while they talk that it haunts him in the back of his head because they do actually know a lot about him and he hates it.

HAHA so glad you like this au :)))

and oops i mightve worded some stuff wrong my bad .. roseus isn't forbidden from interacting with others, more like they encourage themself NOT to. to explain why this is, it's simply because they don't want to accidentally terrorize anyone. especially the pines family. the axolotl actually does not mind if they do talk with others, they need permission first just in case :) BUT, yes, when they eventually meet the pines, bill explains a bit about roseus (he was very mad about it). sorry for not clearing this up;;

for your other question, yes! roseus does have powers. i haven't exactly thought about what roseus themself is made of but it's similar to bill's dna?? probably?? they are very similar (eyemouth, black limbs, both glow when they speak, etc.). the other something something percent is crushed little stars, a pinch of the axolotl's likeness, and lots of whimsy!

I'd say that they don't have bill's powers (most of them, at least). as similar as they are, they're obviously different from each other and that also applies to their abilities. roseus usually does not use them unless necessary since bill is as powerless as he is already since his powers got revoked. the most roseus has to do is either make a leash for him if he tries to escape or snap their fingers to make him shut up (which happens often). bill has gotten used to it at this point and WILL quiet down whenever he feels that he's gotten on their nerves.

i won't say what powers roseus has, half because i have not thought of them yet and half because i am saving that reveal for some comic or something in the near future. I've been wanting to make a comic about this au for a while so I'm sure it won't take very long until you find out.

ALSO. that is a very real interaction between the two. they will never call each other siblings yet they act like this!!!! i love them too I'm happy someone else likes their silly dynamic

these next two questions are digging into future lore stuff atp so I won't give any answers but dipper's reaction to bill's return is very accurate.. like Why is there two. did something happen did bill actually have a sibling???? are they getting revenge?????? poor boy.
