Everything seemed to be going well… until the storm hit and damaged the monitor screen. Unfortunately, water and dust can affect the functionality of the touchscreen. If you’ve ever dropped your smartphone in water and noticed that the colors were a little off or were slow to respond to touch, you know what we’re talking about.

There are many environments and applications where you need IP65 touchscreen monitors that are water and dust resistant. These include touchscreens used in industrial and commercial environments. In these commercial environments, customers may see touchscreen displays at points of sale, kiosks in entertainment venues, restaurants, and more.

What is the IP rating?

IP Rating, short for Ingress Protection Rating, evaluates the effectiveness of the sealing performance of electrical enclosures against the ingress of foreign objects (dirt, tools, etc.) and the ingress of moisture. IP ratings have two different numbers. Each means something different.

The first number, which ranges from 0 to 6, represents athe level of protection against solid objects. This is according to the size of each object. The higher the number, the better the item is better protected against these objects.

The second number, ranging from 0 to 9, relates to the level of resistance to liquid entry. This type of intrusion includes dripping, spraying, and immersion. The amount of liquid and its direction towards the enclosed item determines the level of protection against liquids. The test also specifies the delivery pressure, the distance between the housing and the nozzle, the size of the nozzle used to define the water spray or spray, and the test time.

What IP rating is required for an industrial touchscreen display?

Depending on your space, you will need a low or high IP rating. The low IP rating is mainly used in indoor environments where water jets are never a problem. Temperature-controlled areas such as office buildings do not require high IP ratings.

The low IP rating is also suitable for protected use in aluminum extrusions, in sealed signage, and in sealed products.

On the other hand, touchscreen monitors with high IP ratings are used in outdoor locations exposed to large amounts of liquids and dust. These are typically high-traffic, wet, and high-touch areas. High-touch areas are areas where many people touch touchscreen displays. These include areas such as transportation facilities and dirty warehouses.

The most common IP ratings are IP65, IP66 and IP67. When you have an IP65  touch monitor, it’s waterproof. While it has an IP66 rating, it has water resistance specifically for powerful jetting. When the degree of protection is IP67, the touch screen can resist complete immersion for a certain period of time. An IP68 rating is also sometimes used, which means the touchscreen can resist full immersion for longer, even down to 3 meters.

Good afternoon, New York. I’m Shaun Cleary here with the evening news.

Tensions have arisen around New York--particularly in Manhattan once more, in response to the upcoming election. Much of the protesting and returned rioting continues to stem from the controversial Proposition One-A, or ‘Prop One’. If passed, this referendum would require all powered New York citizens to register themselves as such with the government. 

The proposition is said to have resulted from years of deadly threats, attacks and casualties traced back to those with genetic or enhanced abilities. Supporters of the proposition say that knowledge of other’s powers will better assist the government in apprehending criminals. It is also believed that if it is put into law, the proposition is designed to help hold powered people--be it individuals or teams--be held accountable regardless of their intent to act in situations that arise around the state. 

Those in opposition of Prop One claim that the passing of this bill will only increase prejudices and fears, especially for those with abilities who have not acted with criminal intent, heroics or otherwise. Many with mutations or enhanced abilities have already experienced discrimination, ridicule and or hateful attitudes in the work place, in academic settings, and in some cases, in their homes. Some have also put forth the argument that the proposition infringes on individual privacy rights. The counter argument to this has been that the registration would change nothing for those who have not, or do not use their powers to inflict harm--be it bodily, mental or financial--onto others.

A few New York citizens are casting early votes by mail, while others will be casting their votes for this and other propositions and elected positions on the ballot, November eighth. Whatever side of the issues you may fall on, we here at the Bugle encourage everyone to vote. 

Elsewhere in the country, a series of unusual bank burglaries have taken place. A pattern has not yet been determined, outside of various banks being targeted after hours. Several banks are increasing security and asking for more surveillance from law enforcement in the evening hours. Local authorities of the burgled banks have no definitive leads at this time but are asking citizens to report any suspicious activity they may witness. 

In lighter news, the second annual Hell’s Kitchen Block Party has been pushed back from its initial September date, to November twelfth. An official statement from Stark Industries CEO Tony Stark cites a preference not to run into conflict with other early Fall functions as it did last year. Similar to last year, however, the Hell’s Kitchen Block Party will include food and other merchandise vendors, music, games and other entertainment for adults and families. Tickets can be purchased in advanced on hkny.com. Groupon deals can also be found online.

Michael finally relents with a laugh, arms wrapping around you to hug you to his chest as he rolls on his side. “I can’t help it! I have two of the cutest little brothers in the world, and I have to be sure they know it!” He coos at you playfully. He doesn’t notice your wet pullup until you squirm a little bit. “Did you wet yourself again? I might need to get you something a bit thicker until you learn to use the potty like a big boy.”

“I am a big boy!” I say with a pout, staring up at him with narrow eyes. Axnew’s words come back to me and I sigh internally while looking down. “Maybe.....maybe not that big though.”

Axnew grumbles softly, but dozes off as well. You awaken on Michael’s chest, his breathing making you rise and fall. Nick sleeps by your side, clutching your hand as he sleeps. The room is quiet and morning light seeps through the windows, painting the room in golds, oranges, and pinks.

I reach up to gentky poke Michael’s cheek with my free hand, a small smile gracing my face as he grumbles and pouts. “Mikey? Miiiiiikkkkkeeeyyy?” I whisper shout, the name feeling foreign on my tongue.

Axnew sighs, then lays down on the floor beside and rests his head on your knee as he looks up at you. “I am with you until the end, and even a bit after that. I’ll walk with you until you reach another world, then I must stop there.” He says with a twinkle in his eyes. “But love exists everywhere, which is why it must be cherished and protected.” He then groans as you scratch behind his ears. “You brothers may fail you. Or they could surprise you. But isn’t change better than where you were?”

I nod, that answer not even requiring a second to think. “It is.” I say and then lay down, pushing my face into his fur and closing my eyes, taking a deep breathe. “I’m ready to wake up now.”

“For a start, let your brothers in. They survived your father too, even though their scars aren’t as physical as yours.” He says softly. “Let others take care of you a bit. Not completely, but enough to let them earn your trust.” Axnew stops and plops down on his haunches. “You weren’t given a good start like others, but you don’t have to let that define the rest of your life, either.” He glances at the bud, and it unfolds into a lovely golden flower casting light to chase away the darkness.

I sigh and tilt my head back, thinking of Nick and what he would want me to do. “And what if this fails? What if after accepting them and being accepted, after experiencing more light, you fail? And I stay convinced the world is awful? Will you still be here to keep guiding me?” I ask and cross cross my legs.

“People can be selfish. I don’t disagree.” Axnew says, watching the three little flowers. “But people can also change. Nothing grows on its own.” He says, delicately touching the flowers. The petals become fuller, and ivy flows around them to protect against thorns and darkness. “And sometimes, we need to let ourselves grow to become better. Before we can help others.” He says, giving you a pointed look before tapping on the branch close to the other flowers. A single golden bud glows.

“So, you’re in my head. What do you think would be a good thing for me?” I ask, plastering on a fake smile to seem more polite. “Since you know so much more about this world then I do.”
