The first thing to keep in mind is that awesome is a newbie- she popped up in January 2020. Everything she knows is from "researching” the ccers favorite gifs and answers Abby and co gave to their nonnies in the last few years. She was trolling through the cc masterposts but most of them are long gone so she basically learned through their favorite gif playlist-if you put all the gifs together and took away the slow-mo feature it was probably a total of 4 minutes or less of Chris and Darren’s lives and all of it was from the Glee set or during promo for the show.

(5) It’s been many years, yes, and with the years comes the ease and the routine, everybody is aware of the situation, teams know what they have to do to keep it going (though sometimes they also slip up, some more than others). With the years the startling suspicion that they might be indeed a couple subsides and nobody cares about it anymore (but us), no one goes out to investigate because why should they? (6)Who cares about D marrying to hide the fact that he’s gay? He’s not the first nor the last to do it. (7) And he’s not that famous that people will want to know at all costs or have tabloids to pay for the scoop. (8) No, it is still his team that needs to pay to get articles out (talking about M mostly). And based on the comments they get on such articles, D’s secret seems to be an open one. Why would anyone tell about them? In HW everyone knows everything about everybody but they seldom tell cause they are all in it together - so who should tell and whom to? (9) Besides - there are plenty of couples in HW and around HW who are pretty secretive about their relationships and have been for years without anyone finding out anything they did not want exposed. Some couples are never seen together anywhere but are known to be married because they have at some point or another confirmed their relationship. (11) It is a long time to maintain this but if the parties involved are fine with the outcome (I doubt D and C are now, but for argument’s sake) nothing will get in the way to disturb the situation.

Do you want me to confirm to you that they actually live together? I cannot. That they have been together all the time? I cannot. (12) But look at them interact at the G/lee reunion and tell me honestly that there isn’t anything going on between them - they have been looking at each other that way for almost 10 years now. Have they at any time looked at their official SO in the same way? They make each other smile and laugh, that counts for very much in a relationship.

2. She mentions the Tweets that were soon deleted- this is one of my favorite arguments because it’s the most pathetic proof and proves just how easy it is to con a tinhat. Faking a Tweet has been easy for many years and anyone with photoshop skills could do it from day one. Tweets that showed up, then quickly disappeared but luckily ONE person managed to get a screencap? Riiigggghhhhttttttt. We also know that a couple of those famous disappearing Tweets were never real but were written about as part of the “news” post that GleekinthePink mistook for real but was later proven to be fanfiction. 

3. The videos where they hear the voice of the other -usually in a laugh- aren’t “proof” of a relationship. First of all, the obvious, we don’t know who it is since they are off-camera and the person on camera never makes a face of surprise like I would expect if the other outed them. It also makes no sense to imagine that Darren married Mia to protect the secrets but they took a risk by having the other in the room during a live or while shooting a video they posted to social media. I can’t imagine taking a chance like that on something as stupid as a promo Livestream or a haircut-maybe to attend a small family event like Chris’s mom’s funeral or his dad’s wedding, but not a haircut. 

4. What clues did they give away exactly? The not-actually-matching shirts? The not-at-all matching duvet covers? The song lyrics? None of these “clues” are evidence of a relationship. They are simply evidence of a fandom obsessed with making everything into confirmation bias and Abby’s talent at bringing everything back to Crisscolfer.   

5. Now she starts to layout her argument that “everyone knows and they are willing to keep it a secret because who cares”? This argument is so weak I would hope that her community should see right through it, but I’m sure they don’t. I’ve learned through my interactions with Trump supporters and ccers that people who are in a group because they want to win and to be special, people who are bonded together through anger, misogyny, and hate require very little fact-based information. They thrive on short sentences-repeated often- and in anger and having a scapegoat to hurl all their shit at. Having someone to hate is like meth- it’s highly addictive, it rots their brains and it keeps them coming back even after it is killing them. I am sure that any ccer who reads awesome’s post will accept it all at face value.  Hollywood isn’t a close community full of people who either love and respect each other enough to protect Darren or are indifferent as long as it doesn’t affect them. The fact is, Hollywood is a small community, yes. If cc were a couple, everyone would know but being a small community and one willing to hide another’s deep dark secrets aren’t the same thing. Nobody has a reason to protect Chris and Darren by lying or actively working to protect their secrets.. People like and respect Darren because he’s genuine, honest, kind, and interesting but ccDarren is none of those things. He’s a liar who is hiding in the closet because he’s can’t give up his fame, he “treats Mia like shit”, he continues to work with the man who put him in the closet using THE Contract. THE Contract alone would be HUGE and go well beyond tabloid fodder. The NYT and WaPo would be all over the story of Ryan Muphy and Fox TV forcing Darren into the closet, forcing a beard and forbidding them to interact for a decade. 

The biggest reason her theory is nothing but a naive fantasy is that Hollywood isn’t a static community.  Over the last decade, many people came and went and there is no way you will ever convince me that in 10 years, not one person let it slip or was willing to sell them out for their own 15 minutes of fame or blackmailed one of the players get something they wanted. Darren is a vary social man and lots of people consider him their friend. He attends a lot of functions where people see him with Mia. Either ccDarren and ccChris never go out in public- for 10 years they have kept their relationship inside at one of their homes and only a couple of friends know the truth or it’s statistically inconceivable that someone hasn’t slipped or outed them. Glee had a huge cast and crew- add the plus ones and we have a crap ton of people who know, but not one person told a friend who let it slip? Nobody told a friend who works at TMZ or knows someone who does or who is on TMZ payroll? Puh-leaze . 

The tabloids would LOVE to get ahold of CrissColfer- not simply because they are gay, but because Darren has presented as straight for over 10 years and he just married a woman! He also said as a straight man he won’t play another gay character. A gay Darren would be tabloid fodder at any level but as Abby loved to point out, he just won every award; he’s one of the Ryan Murphy Players and his career is on fire right now. CDAN has posted multiple blinds about Darren being gay over the years which proves that tabloids would be interested in such a story.  

6. In 2020 it would be big news if a celeb married to hide a gay relationship.  Especially if that man was famous for playing gay characters and who has been in a relationship with the woman he married for 10+ years. Awesome is dreaming if she imagines nobody would care about such a story.  It’s a story about deception and lies but if you add in the shit they believe, THE Contracts and being forced in the closet, a paid beard who abuses Darren and hidden relationship with another man who has presented another man as his long-term boyfriend? Yeah, that would be huge news. 

7. I have no clue why she thinks he isn’t famous enough to have a tabloid pay for information. Has she read TMZ in the last 5 years? It’s full of stories about Farah Abrahman and other reality stars and their shenanigans. You don’t have to be a huge blockbuster movie star to get a tabloid interested. You only need a sordid story about love mixed with deception, sex, money murder or abuse of power. The tabloids feed off stories like the tinhats have written CrissColfer. 

8. I always love the comments about his team forcing articles out -especially Mia. WTF? His team doesn’t force out articles- they get him publicity when he has a project. Darren hasn’t done all that much press I would call fake, certainly, not many that are written by his team or read as if they just pieced together PR pieces written by his team. Maybe ccers are finding nonsense articles that are clearly written for clicks (they were debating about one last month that was clearly written by someone who Googled Darren and cobbled together his story from what they found online without trying very hard. It wasn’t even written well.  It’s super easy to avoid those articles- if they say “sponsored” that’s a good clue. If you have to click through paragraph by paragraph or photo by photo, or you can barely see the article among the flashing ads, you’re probably reading something of poor quality and not worthy of your time. Stick with articles that are more reputable-actual entertainment publications that cover the industry and including interviews or stories written by journalists. BTW, when was Mia in an article last? I mean more than a mention or two? She was quoted in some for TSG’s opening but other than that she isn’t in the pieces.  

9. There are plenty of couples who keep their relationships quiet but Darren Criss is NOT one of them. Neither is Chris Colfer... but especially not Darren Criss. He doesn’t talk about his relationship per se but is mentioned in places where one would normally talk about one’s spouse. Mia is always by his side and clearly enmeshed in his life- they share old friends and live and work together. The people awesome is referring t-those who keep their private lives private- aren’t running around with a fake wife or fake husband to protect their actual relationships- they are just keeping everything quiet-think Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes or early Angelina and Brad. Arguing that because some celeb’s keep their private life private, it is rational to believe that Darren and Chris are simply one of those couples is a fallacy-but it’s almost 3 am and I’m too tired to think about which one it is. 

11. Now she’s arguing that in over a decade in Hollywood, the people in Darren’s and Chris’s lives have been static and therefore there isn’t anyone to rock the boat and out them. An interesting argument in light of Darren’s resume over the last 9 years- Broadway (4 different shows (2 Hedwigs)), TV (Royalties, Hollywood, Glee, AHS, ACS), music (including a few tours, 2 albums, multiple one-off shows, and several music videos), Elsie Fest, two feature movies and all the award shows, charity events, fundraisers, and other random things that Darren does. He also owns two businesses that we know of- TSG and The Motley.  That’s a shitload of people that he’s interacted with just at work in the last decade. Oh and add all the people who worked on the wedding-the vendors and their staffs- it’s unrealistic to believe that not one of them realized something was ccUp. Chris entirely changed careers adding all the people in the publishing world that an author works with. He also has done a couple of shows for TV. I’m not even considering the charities they both work with. Not only is this a LOT of people who are keeping their mouths shut, but it isn’t a static group-Darren filmed Hollywood and Royalties this year and rehearsed Amerian Buffalo bringing in an entirely new set of people to work with. If Chris gets his TLOS movie off the ground that will be hundreds and hundreds of new people with him  The fact is, Hollywood isn’t static- it’s the most unstable business I can think of with new people coming to seek their dreams and others giving up or going off to do something else like music or Broadway. There are alwasy new people coming and others going. If Darren and Chris were in fact in a relationship then lots of people near htier homes would know- grocery store workers, restaurant staff, dry cleaners, etc. Yet nobody with this type of evidence has ever even suggested they are a couple. The legit media has never sniffed around trying to find out if Darren is actually gay or with Chris. That says a lot about the validity of the story. Darren would have been hounded by the media when he started playing Blaine but was telling everyone he was staright and showing up at events with Mia. 

Hollywood isn’t known for being altruistic and kind. It’s a ruthless industry full of people with huge egos and big power and people who are broke and just want to get hired for a part, they want their dreams to come true. Hollywood is a town of desperation for so many with big dreams and a quick buck selling a story to a tabloid or the 10 minutes of fan that it would bring- hell even someone making a deal with TMZ to cover them for a period of time in exchange for info about Chris and Colfer is wayyy more credible rational than believing Hollywood is static and nobody has a reason to out Darren.  

12. Laughter and joy are important in a relationship but smiling at someone during a charity online reunion isn’t proof of anything- it’s just common courtesy to be polite in that scenario. Notice they once again are relying on a photo- a stillshot from a video- 1 single frame is “PROOF they are in love” because Chris is giving heart eyes to Darren.   

If your entire argument is they have overwhelming chemistry then you must know that nobody will take you seriously and you should really get listen to an objective opinion by someone who isn’t desperately searching for confirmation bias that they are a couple. Good chemistry doesn’t make a relationship-lots of people have good chemistry and they aren’t in a relationship and lots of people in relationships have poor chemistry. It isn’t proof of anything except that ccers have no evidence.

Second - it grates on my nerves to this day to see other same sex tv couples whose portrayers are able to interact together and do interviews and just generally act like coworkers instead of ships that never pass in the night. We were deprived of all kinds of C and D goodness for so many years and it makes no sense. That would have been an absolute goldmine of content - think of the hilarious quips and goofiness and just overall delightfulness we could have had. They should have milked that onscreen chemistry and the fervent love we had for Klaine for all it’s worth. But instead we got the opposite - I’m no marketing genius, but tell me how that makes good business sense? To not promote your biggest asset? Who does that? Someone with a different agenda to promote perhaps. And the fact that they are almost always the only glee couple that still shows up on best couple, most iconic couple, etc lists to this day proves it. Tell me the last list Finchel was on. You can’t, because there was nothing special or remarkable about them. Yet they got all the airtime - some of that is probably due to Fox’s blatant homophobia but a lot of it I feel has to do with RM playing favorites. Klaine was groundbreaking and anyone who says otherwise is just deluding themselves.

How exactly would you have them “milk” it for all it’s worth? Lea and Cory were a couple and they didn’t “milk” their relationship either. No matter Kurt and Blaine did- it isn’t enough - that is the cc problem. It isn’t actually a rational argument- it’s confirmation bias and it isn’t even true. In season 2 and 3 there was a fair amount of Chris and Darren interacting on social media but then it got ccugly in their comment section and they quit. None of the ccers were IN the fandom back then, they weren’t around to feel it in real-time. Reading every interaction in one day on a masterpost isn’t the same as reading them in real-time. The trope is just another fake criticism to whine and moan about.  Claiming Fox is homophobic is rich- I’m curious what evidence one is using to make that claim. Finchel was the main couple of the show- ccers need to get over themselves. We all loved Klaine but getting mad at the show for not putting our favorite couple first is really dumb..

What a waste of these 5 years that could have been joyfully exploited to boost both parties’ career. The rumors of everything about them could have been made to change and subside over the years - heck G/eorge C/looney survived his whole life with rumors of him being gay and never experienced a setback. D could have done the same, be bearded more discreetly - instead we get this unnerving circus. Klaine was wonderful - they were the best actors on the show, had the best songs and duets, and in spite of the vile turn of events in their storylines and inconsistencies in their characters they still managed to pull it off with dignity - that’s how good they are. And that fantastic chemistry. You know what my tween daughter asked me after seeing them together in a few episodes? “Mom they’re together in real life, aren’t they?” Well.

It’s not abnormal for a tween to think an on-screen couple is together in real life. The problem is when a middle-age woman can’t tell fantasy from reality; real from make-believe.

It’s always about them. How in the hell does someone feel they have any right to an opinion about the fate of two strangers let alone be happy about a married couple being on opposite sides of the country. It’s so gross. I also want to point out that she believes that she’s paying attention to the details and that means something- I can’t get over the idea that they believe they are so supa dupa clever, paying attention to details that allow them and only them to SEE the truth.  Whatever. Idiots.

Flowers: I’m not sure what internal travel restrictions are happening in the US right now, but it would be foolish of either to travel for the sake of a pic and as D appears in lockdown in nyc I doubt daisy will be out to play and need of a visit from her to make him behave. Maybe they’ll be stuck on opposite coasts for a while and we’ll all get a break. D may be enjoying it himself 😉.

We’ve talked about how reductive the “Daisy” trope is. The fact that a straight woman brought up “Daisy” when talking about a pandemic is all you need to know about the ccers to understand how nasty and clueless the fandom is.

Over here, things are different in most areas of the country. Here in Berlin, they started with the shutdown on Saturday by closing bars, clubs, movie theaters, theaters, museums... Well, every cultural place you can think of. Restaurants and delivery services still work though. On Wednesday, they continued by closing every store that isn’t necessary for the well-being of people, i.e. electronic stores and clothing stores and department stores and the likes had to close. People were asked to please stay at home, except if they had to buy necessary things like groceries, meds etc. or go to work or the doctor. And yet, people are being stupid and went to meet friends at cafes or in parks. They acted as if they were on vacation. Frankly, if the lockdown comes for Berlin - and it definitely will - they will complain the loudest, but they are partly at fault themselves. Schools, kindergartens and universities are all closed, too.

What else? Berlin had the first death due to the virus today. Not surprising and it won’t be the last. If anybody thinks anything like that, they are only fooling themselves. Just like some people actually assume that we can all go back to the way it was before in five weeks. They don’t even consider that this might take months. And no matter what, people on Twitter solely blame the government for everything and that there are so many people infected. The stupidity truly knows no boundaries there with what they are saying.

As for me, I’m on day 14 of my personal self quarantine and things are okay. I’ve done a bit of my jigsaw, watched some shows in the evening, played some games, spent time with my cats, worked a bit here and there etc. All the necessary shopping is being done by my family, so that I don’t have to go anywhere for the time being. I don’t really have issues with not going outside, so it shouldn’t be that big of a problem. I did spent two months last year working at home and only left the house once during that time. So, it’s definitely doable for me. 😊

And since one of my cats decided that the puzzle box is a good place to be in, he had to endure me taking a picture of him then. 😄 He clearly wasn’t amused. Btw, this is the one from my snow post the other day.

What I’ve learned during the past week? People are even more stupid than I thought.

I’ve reached a point today, where nothing - absolutely NOTHING - surprises me anymore.

Protip: It’s all in the details of the article- READ the entire piece before using it as evidence of your fantasy

The “newbie” ccer is taking well to her new position and seems to have read the cc handbook thoroughly. She’s using confirmation bias like a champ, basing her belief on the all-important “something seems off when I look at pictures of Darren and Mia” hence they must be fake and ignoring important details in articles that sound like they prove cc tropes are real but upon actually reading them, they fall far short or even prove their tropes are made up lies. Today she posted a 3-year old piece from Huffpo Canada about an E show called The Arrangement which told the thinly-veiled story of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes marriage. A few years after the Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman divorce, Scientology leader David Miscavige decided Tom needed a wife and “auditioned” several Scientology-approved women before landing on Katie. They had a whirlwind romance that played out across the world and married soon afterward. Tom had a Scientology handler-his sister- with him at all times during this process. Tabloids had long speculated on this and Leah Remini’s Scientology documentary series confirmed it. The wedding was basically arranged and fake on some level but that wasn't because of anyone in Hollywood. It was because David Miscavige is a ruthless leader of the “church”. He runs the organization like a mob boss. If you haven't watched Leah’s show I highly recommend it. It’s hard to believe the shit that goes down but after dozens of people tell very similar stories you begin to realize it’s a very scary cult run by an evil man who doesn’t care who he hurts or tortures as long as he maintains power and brings in millions of dollars. People literally have to escape in the middle of the night and many are caught by teams whose job it is to chase down escapees.

It’s more likely a fauxmance is used to promote a project.  The piece goes on to talk about Kaley Cuoco and Henry Cavilli’s “romance” that lasted 12 days when Henry was promoting Man of Steel. Kaley was quoted as saying “I had no one following me until I met Superman. I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and my whole life, I could go anywhere, do anything. There had not been one paparazzi photo of me until like seven months ago. The recognition has been crazy”.  According to HuffPo: 

The problem with Cuoco’s statement is that while it used to be commonplace for the paparazzi to be out in full force following celebrities around town, hunting for that perfect picture, that happens far less often today unless you occupy the A-list.

The rest of the piece analyzes Hiddleswift- Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s short romance. 

So what did we learn from reading this “great informative article about faux-weddings and faux-mances”? 

1. Faux-mances are used for PR purposes to distract from negative stories (Taylor -Kim K smackdown) or to amp up the interest factor in actors promoting projects (Cuoco and Cavilli). Mia isn’t famous and doesn’t bring anything to the table PR wise.  She doesn’t ramp up the frenzy in Darren’s media coverage. Furthermore, they have been dating for 10 years rather than a few weeks to months.  

2. Faux weddings -David Miscavige and the Church of Scientology controlled Tom Cruise’s marriage to Katie Holmes- Darren isn’t a Scientologist so this isn’t relevant to anything. 

3. Paparazzi pics aren’t nearly as lucrative as they used to be because social media is much easier to push a narrative. 

4. Using faux romances and marriages to hide an actor’s sexual orientation was used when studios contracted with an actor for a long period of time. The studio system died out by the 60′s and Hollywood is more open-minded nowadays.    The media has never speculated that Darren is gay, there are no scandalized photos of him with men, Darren has definitively said he’s straight for 11 years. There is no reason to think he would be hiding in the closet. No studio owns him for the last 10 years. He said he was straight before he was on Glee, he dated Mia from before he was on Glee. 

The article does give credibility to tinhat tropes- in fact, it does the opposite. Once again, someone got excited that an article covered the same ideas and keywords they love to throw around but nobody read it for content....or they did but like everything, they read it as confirmation bias rather than reading it for what it actually says.

You are absolutely correct. Our fandom just wants to be left alone. We don’t send hateful asks to the other side. We don’t have to. They feel they have the right to dox CCers because they don’t like what we say about M, a woman that would light a cigarette from the flames engulfing them and not call 911 to help them. I mean, honestly, it doesn’t get much lower than mocking someone’s death. Plus, as you correctly said, M put herself in the spotlight “dating” D. If she didn’t want that attention, she would have stayed in the background. There are plenty of celebrities married to non famous people and we don’t see them at every event like we do M. (It is BAFFLING to me that they can’t comprhend something as simple and obvious as the reasaon they “see Mia everywhere” is because they fucking stalk her and they hyperanalzye every photo Darren is in looking for her. If they started stalking Ben Feldman they would see his wife just as much as they see Mia).    

Bottom line is what they did to Abby was deplorable, but, just like their kween, they feel justified in doing whatever they want. This isn’t the first time they’ve crossed a line with regards to my friend, but it was the worst.

I do consider this the very intriguing thing about the news. (And it just goes to show that believing everything you’re sold is being utterly and completely ignorant.) Let’s say you’re right because ofc it’s possible. How does R/aymond fit in here? Given the excessive way team shit has pushed that article, a technicality won’t be good enough. There has to be a better plan. This doesn’t match what’s been said in his name.

What I think is this doesn’t necessarily have to mean much. You know very well what you see doesn’t have to be the (full) truth. That doesn’t just apply to the real HW. Especially considering the time period of this show. And let’s not forget the pap pics we got at a gas station. This doesn’t rule out SB as an inspiration. I would advise anyone to read up on him. We don’t know at this point. As we keep saying, the best thing to do is to wait and see. I’m certainly interested in finding out more.

As time goes on, the danger of this situation keeps becoming even clearer to me. D deserves much, much better. He’s incredibly strong, but the most toxic person in his life needs to go and she’s more than welcome to take the jumping jackass with her. That’s definitely the most important thing right now. HW has been a thing before that statement was made, which is indeed very different from the answer D himself gave during the interview. That’s what makes the article seem like sabotage by team shit. And standing in RM’s way is never a good idea. So while I will obviously never like him, I’m reserving judgment on his current role until we know more.

I myself have had my daughters threatened.  This sort of stuff doesn’t happen anywhere in the fandom but here here. If we are a bunch of delusional crazy middle-aged women then this shouldn’t happen. (Who was doxed? Who dissappered? It’s all “liar liar” with everything ccers say. In the last 4 years Abby has been the only leader of the cc fandom. Michelle left between 4 and 5 years ago because her outrageious cc comments threatened her ability to raise money for her little Klaine-fanfic rip-off movie. I vaguely remember someone asking flowers how her daugther’s would feel if they read what she writes- hardly a threat. If there was something more she never posted any proof. As for blogs being deleted- so was D-Criss News.  It happens. The only cc blog that I know of that disappeared was DisneyPrincessModelWorld’s original blog which had was a hot mess of lies and catfishing. She visciously bullied Mia. Hardly someone to mourn their blog being deleted).

This awesome-fanfictionada tinhat wrote a manifesto about how she watched some videos of Darren and Chris and decided they were either manipulative liars who tricked their fans or they were in a closeted relationship. Uh... did she bother to consider that maybe she just doesn’t like them? That, like all of the tinhats, she likes Kurt and Blaine but hates Chris and Darren.

Ya know...I was thinking the same thought about “tween daughter” today but I don’t think it’s Abby. She knows too much which feels really weird but she does seem to be going through the masterposts as she’s reposting all sorts of old posts. She has asked some good questions and noticed some of the issues we notice but she accepts their “FACT” answers and is already turning everything into confirmation bias after having a blog for 6 weeks.  It’s weird becuase Abby rose up right as Michelle left and this is happening again but Abby never had the patience or tolerance for anything but the “Darren is perfect”, “Mia is evil” storyline. In this post, you can see that awesome noticed that Chris keeps making snarky comments about Klaine- Abby was never willing to see the interview as anything but a love letter to Klaine.   (Why in the hell did Chrisdare split A/non?) In the second ask below Awesome puts Chris in a higher pedestal than Darren and Abby NEVER did that.But hey, it’s all weird, what does everything else think?

He’s just as culpable in all of this as D is and he’s tried to show that on more than one occasion. I’m not heartbroken for C and I don’t think he would want us to be. At the end of the day, he has a love most people only dream about. Many people perceive C as being the more fragile of the two, and I think that’s a grave mistake. C’s the glue that holds them together. He’s always had to fend for himself and the world wasn’t always kind to him. D grew up in this seemingly perfect little world where he trusted everyone and thought people were mostly good and that’s part of why he’s in this situation.

Abby’s departer was unexpected and sudden (and I’m still not convinced it’s permanent- but Awesome has clearly swallowed the last of the kool-aid and is repeating their favorite tropes like she’s been around since the begining.  Her responses to this post (X) show how ready she is
