More Ian's dad Patrick (the undiagnosed autistic) lore
Took Ian fishing. Ian got a hook stuck in his neck. "Oh that's fine, it'll come out on its own." It did not. Ian's mum Abertha took it out.
Somehow taught Ian to drive the family's 1949 Morris Minor considering his way of teaching him to ride a bike was to take him to the top of a steep hill and push.
Had a long-standing feud with the local fox population. Was on the side of the local bird population. Could not understand Ian's deep fear of birds post-rooster ass-kicking.
Refused to talk about Charles. Ian learned everything from mum.
Saw Jeremy as another son, which is why he took the chemist's shop over.
Hated Protestants - except Jeremy's family.
Hated the royal family. Threw darts at a portrait of the Queen.
Had a lot of trouble articulating just how proud he was of Ian.
Like Ian, terrified of planes, even though he worked for Avro during the war. Never got to the US to visit Ian post-college. Though it's very likely it would have been hard for him to see Ian age past the point of life Charles had been at. (Despite Charles not actually being dead, but he didn't know.)
He would have loved to see Ian have a family.

Send me ✦ and I'll introduce you to an alternate universe version of my character
Back is turned to the man, as weapon is lightly spun round and round. The cold winds gusted harshly over the tundra plains, and he stands out as splashed ink to the snow. Black hair, tied high, black wings flared out in full.
Tumblr media
Something else however, also stands against the snow, crimson jewels flung and scattered across the heavy blanket of frost. The crunch of snow under heel catches his attention, and silver gaze cuts swiftly to the man approaching. Branwen. No emotion flits across his face, instead pointing Showstopper to the man, it’s curved, glittering blade a silent warning.
“Stand down, or greet death.” His orders had been clear, and he had no intention of failing. Either them, or him. The Queen had been very clear, and certainly, she would have little issue taking his eyes before silencing his voice.
Tumblr media
Fox offers a coy smile to the man, he knows him. Has heard of him. It may be easier than he thought to get under his skin, though, Gris knew when he was at a stand still. Mirror images give their flashing smiles, fangs bared in something like a warped smile.
“I’m only here to help, a living weapon if you will. Of course, I and my mother will want something in return. Supplies, medicine, food. Whatever else have you- I want it.”
Kusarigama twist in some hands, and hand limply in others, though, the real one twirls his. A mocking gesture. “After all, an eye for an eye? Though I can assure you, mine is far more valuable, what, destroying the coming Grimm in an instant and all.”
Tongue clicks in his mouth, head tilting sharply to the left. “So, do we have a deal?”
Tumblr media
Marigold twists the fabric in their hands, attention thoroughly grabbed by the arrival of the Huntsman. They never really got to see them anymore, not since the failed attempt to don her chosen name, to flee under the guise of Arian, and train. Do some good-
No, they... she had failed there. Right, she. Not they. A lump forms in her throat, and amber hues seem to glow under the too harsh lighting. Smile is thin, and watery at best. Trembling and caving way at worse. It likely was.
“th... Thank you for offering your help.”

#Interbrand150 — The 150 Iconic Brands Chosen By Canadians
July 1 marks a momentous day in Canada, the high point of a momentous year as the nation celebrates the 150th anniversary of the confederation of Canada. This occurred when the British colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into one Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867.
As Interbrand Canada Managing Director Carolyn Ray noted about the nation’s sesquicentennial, “2017 has been filled with #Canada150 activities designed to celebrate our diversity and encourage inclusion; establish a spirit of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples; and discover Canada’s natural beauty and strengthen our environmental awareness. On our birthday on Saturday, July 1, it’s fair to say that Canadians will be celebrating from coast to coast!”

What better way for Interbrand to mark the occasion than to pay tribute to Canada’s iconic brands, as selected by its own Canadian branding experts in partnership with the public. Interbrand Canada has been collecting nominations for Canada’s 150 most iconic brands for the past few months to come up with a list that was announced today by The Globe and Mail, Canada’s oldest national newspaper and its biggest business media brand.

“Brands become iconic when they build an emotional connection with people’s values and beliefs,” Ray commented. “When we asked Canadians about the brands that have shaped and defined their lives, we heard wonderful stories that convey their deep personal connections with these brands, and reinforce their pride in being Canadian.”

The resulting list contains a few surprises. “Some of these pre-date our country’s 1867 confederation, like the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) and Molson. Others may not exist anymore, like the Montreal Expos,” Ray pointed out. “And while many of you know the origins of Tim Hortons or Canada Goose, you may not know that IMAX, Arc’teryx, or the Ski-doo are in fact Canadian brands. Surprise!”
