🌊 I would like to know which Jewish names are your favourites?
I really like a lot of Jewish names. It's nice finding out what people's Hebrew names are, or the meaning of their name if it is Hebrew.
♥️= Ultra Favourites
BOYS
Absalom/Avshalom
Meaning: "my father is peace" (Hebrew). A son of King David. He avenged his sister Tamar by arranging the murder of her rapist, their half-brother Amnon.
Ariel
Meaning: "lion of God" (Hebrew). In the Old Testament it is used as another name for the city of Jerusalem.
Aharon/Aron
Meaning: "high mountain" or "exalted" (Hebrew). The older brother of Moses. He acted as a spokesman for his brother when they appealed to the pharaoh to release the Israelites from slavery. Aaron's rod produced miracles and plagues to intimidate the pharaoh. After the departure from Egypt and arrival at Mount Sinai, God installed Aaron as the first high priest of the Israelites and promised that his descendants would form the priesthood.
Amram
Meaning: "exhalted nation" (Hebrew), Amram is the father of Moses.
Avraham (Abraham)
Meaning: "father of many" (Hebrew). The biblical patriarch Abraham was originally named Abram but God changed his name. With his father Terah, he led his wife Sarah, his nephew Lot and their other followers from Ur into Canaan. He is regarded by Jews as being the founder of the Hebrews, through his son Isaac and by Muslims as being the founder of the Arabs through his son Ishmael.
Eli
Meaning: "my God" (Hebrew).
Elior
Meaning: "my God is my light" (Hebrew)
Elisha
Meaning: "my God is salvation" (Hebrew); Elisha was a prophet and miracle worker. He was the attendant of Elijah and succeeded him after his ascension to heaven.
Eliyah/Eliyahu (Elijah) ♥️
Meaning: "my God is Yahweh" Yahweh is one of the names of God and is not to be said out loud (Hebrew); Elijah was a Hebrew prophet and miracle worker.
Ezra
Meaning: "help" (Hebrew); Ezra is a prophet, and the author of the Book of Ezra.
Gidon (Gideon) ♥️
Meaning: "feller, hewer" (Hebrew); Gideon is a hero and judge of the Old Testament who led the vastly outnumbered Israelites against the Midianites, defeated them, and killed their two kings.
Isaac
Meaning: "he will laugh, he will rejoice" (Hebrew); The Old Testament explains this meaning, by recounting that Abraham laughed when God told him that his aged wife Sarah would become pregnant with Isaac, and later Sarah laughed when overhearing the same prophecy. When Isaac was a boy, God tested Abraham's faith by ordering him to sacrifice his son, though an angel prevented the act at the last moment. Isaac went on to become the father of Esau and Jacob with his wife Rebecca.
Lev
Meaning: "heart" (Hebrew)
Levi
Meaning: "joined, attached" (Hebrew); Levi was the third son of Jacob and Leah, and the ancestor of one of the twelve tribes of the Israelites, known as the Levites. This was the tribe that formed the priestly class of the Israelites. This name also occurs in the New Testament, where it is another name for the apostle Matthew.
Lior
Meaning: "light for me" (Hebrew).
Meir
Meaning: "giving light" (Hebrew).
Maor
Meaning: "a light" (Hebrew).
Micah
Meaning: “who is like God?” (Hebrew). Micah is one of the twelve minor prophets of the Old Testament. He authored the Book of Micah, which alternates between prophesies of doom and prophesies of restoration. This is also the name of a separate person in the Book of Judges, the keeper of an idol.
Michael
Meaning: "who is like God?" (Hebrew). This is a rhetorical question, implying no person is like God. Michael is one of the archangels in Hebrew tradition and the only one identified as an archangel in the Bible.
Moshe/Moishe (Moses) ♥️
Meaning: Most likely derived from Egyptian mes meaning "son", but could also possibly mean "deliver" in Hebrew. Moses was drawn out of the Nile by the pharaoh's daughter and adopted into the royal family, at a time when the Israelites were slaves in Egypt.
Natan (Nathan)
Meaning: "he gave" (Hebrew). A prophet during the reign of King David. He chastised David for his adultery with Bathsheba and for the death of Uriah the Hittite. Later he championed Solomon as David's successor. This was also the name of a son of David and Bathsheba.

Meaning: "God has given" (Hebrew). It is borne by several minor characters in the Old Testament, typically spelled Nethanel or Nethaneel.

Meaning: "pleasantness" (Hebrew).
Shelomoh/Solomon
Meaning: Derived from Hebrew shalom, meaning "peace". Solomon was a king of Israel, the son of David and Bathsheba. He was renowned for his wisdom and wealth. The Eth Cepher is a text that restores the names of both people and places that are present in the original Hebrew tongue that have been transliterated into the English language. God of Heaven Almighty (ELOHIYM) gave his name in the book of Exodus (Shemoth) Chapter 3 verse 14 as EHAYAH ASHER EHAYAH (spell it out in Hebrew). The translation of that in basic terms is: I AM that I AM/I will be that I will be. That is whe re the vocalization of YAHUAH is established. As mentioned, (no copyright intended): "The vav is used in its vowel form as an "u" (oo), rather than declaring the vowel as a jot beside the consonant heh. So the yod is pronounced "yah" and the heh is pronounced with the vav as "hu" (hoo). The tetragrammaton concludes with a single heh, which carries the same jot as the yod, that is the mark ah. Therefore, the pronunciation is yah-hoo-ah, or, YAHUAH." The pronunciation Yahweh does a disservice simply because it ignores the ha (the breath of the Father within His own name) in the end. For support of this claim, take a look at: Genesis (Bere'shiyth) 17:5, "Neither shall your eth-name anymore be called Avram, but your name shall be Avraham; for a father of many nations have I made you." In the following verse, the ha is breathed into Avram, with the covenant being expressed as an everlasting one. The breath of life was then poured into Avraham's wife Sarai, who became Sarah, (read Genesis (Bere'shiyth) 17:15). It is for this following reason that other such "pronunciations (such as Yahweh, Yahveh, Yahvoh, Yahvah, etc.) are not widely disparate .... Yahueh instead of Yahuah; Yahveh instead of Yahueh, .... however ... YAHUAH is most accurate. The name of the Messiah is set forth as: YAHUSHA. This name is parallel to the name in Numbers (Bemidbar) describing the son of Nun (Ephrayimiy Husha) .... who was chosen as one of the twelve to spy out the Promised Land (beginning of the Exodus). Numbers (Bemidbar) 13:8, "Of the tribe of Ephrayim, Husha the son of Nun." Numbers (Bemidbar) 13:16, "These are the names of the men which Mosheh sent to spy out eth-the land. And Mosheh called Husha the son of Nun Yahusha." https://www.instagram.com/p/CS1irI0rDEt/?utm_medium=tumblr
