Sobs :((

And if Dark somehow survived Second's lazers, he definitely has some real painful scars rip, bro's gonna have some real bad chronic pain

THEN THEN THEN There's also the hc Dark doesn't have anyone other than Chosen, so like no friends at all, big sad

Also another one including Chosen is that Chosen promises Dark different things sometimes ("we'll destroy the internet together!" Or "I'll never betray you.") And doesn't keep those promises :( therefore Dark has trust issues

ooh ok this is not really something i’ve thought about cos like i am currently taking the “be the change you want to see in the world” approach to fan content akhdh (sorry it doesn’t seem like it, i just haven’t posted anything cos it’s all unfinished akjdhd,, maybe someday tho)

but like,,, i actually really love seeing other people’s posts about theories or even just odd things they noticed in ava/m!! it’s really good brain fuel for me haha

not that we have a shortage of those or anything really but like. just saying,, if any of you guys are holding off on posting your thoughts or theories, go for it!! i would love to see them <33

🎵: what’s a song you imagine a ava/avm animatic too? what’s the animatic? (or just a song you associate with a ava/avm character/ship)

ok so i have a document of about,,, (counts) apparently 60 of these song associations? in varying states of complete explanation but i’ll try and find one of the more complete ones for you

ok so. cooler girl by inabakumori is a very dark song imo. cos like!! to me they’re very emotionally repressed but in a very specific way. they use this whole dramatic “being evil and insane” act as both an outlet for their destructive tendencies towards chosen (because they genuinely don’t want to kill them), and as a facade to hide how they really feel towards them, cos however much they hate it, they still feel the need to conform to their namesake / programming (and also they’re afraid that chosen won’t like them if they show weakness)

so yeah. cooler girl is about how they can never be vulnerable and say exactly what they mean / feel so they constantly hide it all behind like 7 layers of dramatics and destructive impulses and evil plans

(um. it’s really long so lyrics and association explanation under the cut!!)

“since my most important words are all crooked / i’ve got to hone and grind them / until they become sharp, to showcase them / and then i’ll present them to you”

thinking about how they really consider chosen their friend but they hide all their true emotions behind so much theatrical hate (directed at the world at large, and sometimes still, at chosen themself)

like!! they have no idea how to be vulnerable and soft so they just go to the opposite extreme with everything

“i guess i’m feeling relieved / in this web of deception”

they’re more comfortable in the whole “evil and unhinged” image they’ve made of themself than they are with their actual feelings,,,

also haha spider imagery,, like the virabots

MALEVOLENCE AND THEATRICS AS A COPING MECHANISM,,,,

i think they’d be so used to putting up their emotional barriers that they just do it automatically like a knee jerk reaction, even if they’d rather not

like their automatic reaction when they’re not okay and chosen is concerned about them is to push chosen away and try to pretend that everything’s fine

“ah, it’s alright, you can just leave me alone / i don’t exactly need you to like me or not / i’m in no position to ask you to see through me”

their emotions towards chosen as both their only friend and arch nemesis are very complicated

also when you punch someone on a daily basis it’s not really an option to ask for their understanding, is it?

“i wanna cut down, wanna cut down on my emotion usage”

they’d really rather not have emotions at all than have to deal with them,,

“i’ll try to find the feelings i’ve hidden, and show them to you / for it’s quite hard to get anything across with my chapped lips”

they’re so emotionally repressed that even if they want to say something genuine, it often comes out mean on reflex, or they divert to saying something else entirely

their mouth just. doesn’t do what they want hence the “chapped lips”

“i’m a cooler girl who’s forever losing her battle / wouldn’t you like to win against me, every now and again? / i thought so”

haha they're losing the battle to hide their feelings,,

also the “you” in the second part refers to chosen and i think it would slap if we put in some double meaning here

the first way to interpret it is like they’re taunting chosen in an actual fight so it’d be smth like “you can’t possibly beat me but wouldn’t you like to win sometime?”

the second way is that they want to lose the battle to chosen but like. emotionally. so it’s more like “wouldn’t it be nice if i lost to you” and then they break down and spill their feelings towards them

this might be getting very ooc but I WANT THEM TO BE VULNERABLE SO BAD

oh ok for the tumblr crowd, this is a reference to another song association i have for mabel by balloon. the basic premise of that scenario is that chosen and dark’s friendship is built on friendly animosity (sparring on a regular basis, even fighting all out sometimes, joking threats and occasional follow through, insults that they don’t really mean, etc.)

the thing is that dark gets increasingly aggressive about it (perhaps due to their programming getting more insistent / their repressed feelings towards chosen), and they just get meaner and meaner to chosen

this understandably starts to get to them, and chosen starts wondering if dark really does hate them as much as they say

meanwhile in the background, chosen’s morals towards the destruction that they’ve wrought are changing while dark’s become more extreme, hence the “drifting apart”

“it’s so cold, i can’t do a single thing. also, i’m running a fever, i can’t move”

ok consider what if after the showdown dark is really weak for a while cos well. they literally almost died

also about the “it’s so cold” bit, i wonder what it would feel like to experience normal temperature after being blasted by a laser

“with my body, my throat, my head in this condition / i can’t even tell you the truth”

expanding upon the scenario from the previous line, i think it’d be fun if chosen tries taking care of them since they don’t want to fight anymore

and dark hates it cos they’ve probably never been so weak before and also this is a great time for all of their complicated emotions towards chosen to resurface

they’ll try and hide it of course but with chosen literally right there all the time it’s inevitable that they’ll eventually catch dark slipping

and then dark would STILL try to avoid admitting anything

“before i put on that painful, dry makeup”

the makeup as a metaphor for their facade,,,

yknow their “evil and unhinged” image

“for when my tears wash my makeup away / below it all, i’m completely withered”

ok do we take withered as starved for companionship / affection or do we take it as like. inhuman and monstrous

“cooler girl— should just banish all of my embarrassment to the shadow realm”

HAH THEY WISH THEY DIDN’T HAVE FEELINGS

“i don’t exactly need you to like me or not / but i really want / to have you see through me, it’s unbearable”

i bet dark wishes chosen could just understand how they feel without dark having to go through the intensely embarrassing ordeal of explaining their annoyingly complex feelings but like no. unfortunately chosen isn’t psychic

“even when i’ve been warmed up, i still don’t get it”

the thing they don’t get is why chosen is taking care of them like. they literally just tried to kill each other and also they don’t understand why they matter to chosen

like maybe they thought chosen’s friendship with them ended when the flashback (ava shorts ep 3) happened, or perhaps even way before that tipping point

“my heart’s gone completely cold, that’s why i don’t get it / that’s how things are”

because they were made to destroy, and their namesake means they have to be evil, they resign themself to thinking that they’ll never understand chosen’s kindness / care for them

yeah so that’s it!!! hope it was comprehensible haha,,, admittedly there’s some lines missing cos i couldn’t find good ways to make them fit but yeah. dark is so repressed <33

Context

Dark slowly approaches Chosen from behind, taps his shoulder and held up something to him. Chosen looks at the groaning thing that Dark is holding, and with a disgust on his face, he asks-

Uhh- Dark. What is that?

Dark flashes him a smile so wide, both his fangs are showing.

A new friend.

This is not the first time Dark has recreated a random video game abomination to life. He looks at the thing drooling saliva on the floor. Chosen has seen the memes so he has a vague understanding of what a headcrab is. With an exasperated sigh, he says,

No.

Why not?

Look at it. It looks like it's in constant pain.

No it isn't. It's just its idle animation.

Still no. I don't trust it.

Oh come on, I made sure to make it docile enough. See?

Dark proceeds to put the crab on his face. It didn't control him yes, but Chosen could clearly see the thing biting down and slobbering all over Dark's face.

He looks at Dark straight in the eye.

☀ Let's see, what I want to see more of in fandom would be more cool AUs, or maybe just more of people's designs of their favorite sticks, or even just even more love for Dark, but I feel like everyone already puts all that out already so I'm actually pretty happy with whats already in the fandom

🌙 In canon, I think I'd like to see more of Dark and Chosen in calmer situations. Like we already saw the Color Gang in calm environments, what their daily lives are like, what their interests are, etc, along with that cute little snippet of Mango and Purple at the park, but we don't know a whole lot about Chosen and Dark. Like we know Dark has doctors handwriting and is also an artist and inventor, but what else? And what about Chosen? I think I'd like to know more about those two.

Hey there! Name's Night, and welcome to my blog! I'm just a weird little agender creature who was given a pen, some notebooks, a bunch of books, and way too much free time on my hands as a child, and I'm making it everyone's problem.

I'm just a writer with little to my name ever since I abandoned my old Wattpad account back in who knows how long. I'm currently just writing fanfiction, short stories and prompts and I am willing to write works for others like artists or other writers as gifts, however I don't have any plans on attending any major or minor writing events and will probably not for the unforeseeable future as of now. I have too much on my plate to be worrying about that right now, sadly.

I'm in many fandoms, however I'm only planning on writing for a select few, as they are my current interests as of now. The fandoms in question are Transformers, LEGO Monkie Kid, Sonic The Hedgehog, Security Beach, Cult of The Lamb, The Amazing Digital Circus, AvA/AvM, DCxDP, Undertale, and SVSSS. (Note: This list is bound to change more often than you think.)

I'm not exactly sure what my boundaries in writing are as I'm currently stuck in the experimenting phase right now, heh. Technically, I've been stuck in that phase for a while now, but I haven't exactly gone too far yet...

I do have my own set of rules though, which are the basics, really. One, retain basic decency and do not send asks about my personal information nor send me yours or anyone else's personal information. I will not have anyone message me privately, and I will not accept requests with payment attached to write anything for you. Do not harass others or myself, do not send asks frequently about when I might be updating soon, and do not be petty and argue with me about my writing because you did not like a specific ship/headcanon/scene/etc. I will be putting warnings on all my works, so please don't blame me for your decision in reading my works. And no, do not give me any comments about "constructive criticism" when I did not specifically ask for it.

That being said, I do not mind it if you are simply correcting me for a mistake such as an unmentioned tag or warning, because I am prone to those too. Just please be kind about it, and do not cause an unnecessary scene.

Also, I do appreciate fanworks, fanart, or just about anything made for my work, even memes! I just ask that you provide credits to me or links to those specific works so that others can get a chance to read them as well.

I have an ao3 account and a squidgeworld account, because I plan on locking all my works on ao3 to registered users only because they have taken a neutral stance in AI as a whole whereas squidgeworld is purely anti-AI, which is why all the works on there will be unlocked. I go by Mysteries_Of_The_Mind on both of them, so it shouldn't be too confusing. I will have to state that I will not allow anyone to go and repost and/or steal my works on those and in other websites. Podfics and screen readers are fine, though.

I don't have any other socials that directly relate to my writing blog, so if you see anyone parading around as me on other websites like Twitter, that's most definitely an imposter, so kindly just block and report, please.

MORE MAD KING AU FEED ME ALL THE THINGS

Okay actual AU discussion under the "Read More"!

Some key points I'd like to clarify for this AU!

The AU proper takes place at the end of this current AvM King arc. But the actual beginning starts way before Purple even met the Color Gang Sticks.

It starts, with a deal, a promise, between a King and his follower. "Take down the Ender Dragon and bring me its Egg, and I will grant you powers beyond imagination. Together, we will rule."

And it starts with death. The Ender Dragon is no pushover and Purple is not at all prepared to handle that fight. So they die.

But Purple is determined to not let their king down, so they fight the Dragon again, and again, and again. And each time they die. Sometimes to the Dragon attack, sometimes to accidentally looking at the Endermen, and sometimes,

Sometimes, the Dragon's attacks will push them over the edge of the island and they'll fall into the End Void.

And after so many failures and so many deaths, the Void starts to take notice of our purple friend.

"How peculiar? How strange? Who is this little creature that struggles against the Dragon? Why does it come back? It knows it will die, yet it returns? How interesting."

Unbeknownst to Purple, they've become the newest form of entertainment for a cosmic Void being. All Purple knows is that they can feel eyes watching them and they can almost make out distant whispers, every time they step into the End.

But as strange as it is over time the stares and the whispers almost become comforting. The icy chill of the End Void doesn't feel as bad anymore.

So by the time Green and Blue visit in AvM 9-10, Purple doesn't fear the Void in the same way they used to.

And what happens in Avm 10 is ultimately the beginning of the End for Purple. But that, is a story for another time.

My friends father passed a few 2 days ago no one was expecting it what. do I say ?

I dont know what to do one of my bestfriends father passed away and I dont know what to say my parents never taught me how to comfort and interact like this or normal I just sent here a text saying "I'm sorry for your loss" and she said thank you and a little time after that we just sent umbrella academy memes back and forth and I dont know if I'm acting shitty or not I tried to show her pictures of my dogs but I dont know what to do when I was at my old school from 1-5 it was easy I was awkward but it was endearing it's not endearing here its horrifying most of my time out of school I just sat in front of the tv or watching Gravity falls Avms or something I didnt deal with emotions fuck it's not quirky its shit and don't know what to say but I almost cried in class after my math teacher brought it up and I got defensive about it earlier when one of my W5H teammates asked and ALL THE FUCKING TEACHERS DONT SAY HER NAME BUT ITS CLEAR THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT HER AND HER FATHER AND THEY ACT AS IF ITS SOME FUCKING TEACHING MOMENT BUT REALLY THEY JUST MAKING IT SEEM LIKE ITS FUCKING TEA AND EVERYONE IN MY CLASS ROOM WANTS TO KNOW BECAUSE EVERYONE ACTS LIKE THEY NEEDS TO KNOW SHIT

My parents never FUCKING TOLD ME EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND I CANT VENT TO THEM CAUSE THEY WOULD YELL AND I WOULD CRY MORE AND THEY WOULD YELL MORE
