Hi! Have you any tips/tutorial for texturing ? I’m learning blender but I feel like I’m a dumbass at texturing 💀
Hello!! I'm sorry for the late reply. Regarding making textures and models, don't be hard on yourself ✿ I also had difficulties when I first started. I'm still in the learning phase too, trying to improve myself every day. These are things that can definitely improve with time and practice.
There is no single method or program for making textures. It really depends on what kind of model you want to make. You have to find the way that works best for you. Some like to use ready-made and realistic textures. Some do everything handpainted. Some do it more cartoonishly and unrealistic. There are a lot of tools for texturing. Substance Painter, ZBrush, Blender, GIMP, SelfCad, 3D-Coat, etc.
After many trials, I found the most optimal method for myself. I bake ambient occlusion in Blender and transfer this to image editing software. Later I add all the details(colors, handpainted shapes, patterns...), make all the adjustments, and use this texture on the model as a material. Since I make maxis-match items, I try to use shadows and highlights suitable for that style. I draw facial expressions and some shapes myself by looking at the references. I think it's the little details that really make the difference. It seems like nothing changes while doing details at first, but gets much better as it progresses. Trust the process!!🌟and just like in drawing, the more you practice, the more your hand gets used to it and the faster you get.
I apologize if my post is long. There is a lot to talk about when it comes to 3D modeling and its branches. I hope I was able to help a little bit. Thank you so much for the ask!!☆ I wish you a creative and fantastic journey in texturing✨
