Spencer enters the lab before her coworkers, clicking on lights and machines as she makes her way to her desk. The single-cup coffee maker chirps a happy tune from the corner of her workspace, telling her the timer started and finished brewing her cup at the perfect time. She takes a long indulgent sip before finding it a coaster and going to check her emails.

Regarding the Wolf Tick - from the xeno-anthropologists draws a little groan. Howard sent that information over, she told him three times to specify that the tick only attaches to large live-stock like animals. She'll have to reply to that eventually.

Scalpels - from the medical team. Order your own. She says it every time they ask. If they'd allocate their resources with more intention, they wouldn't have this problem.

Eastern developments - expansion team. Now that catches her attention. She uses the mouse out of habit, ignoring how Alicia would've playfully chastised her for not touching the display had she bothered to be here.

How quickly can you get samples from these? The message reads.

The three pictures take forever to load, only coming in once Spencer had rested her head in her hand. The images make her choke on a sip of black coffee.

They're Na'vi. Sure. Not unusual. But they're grey. And small. Very unusual. She leans in closer for a better look, noting their stubby tails and strange demeanor. They seem to be watching from a distance, but make no effort to hide themselves. The tallest of the group stands with his shoulder back, eyeing the camera with a focused expression. Spencer clicks to another, seeing the group of five step closer. Their leader stays at the front of the pack, the bottom half his face covered by a thin fabric tied to a bone going through his nose. He has a bow slung across his back, bigger than the others and more decorated with more feathers and claws. The final image has him raising his bow in a menacing way. She stares at the final image for longer than she needs to, flabbergasted by the contents.

Of course there are other Na'vi better suited for their specific environment. The Tulkun hunting parties have seen plenty of Reef Na'vi, learning early on to keep their distance from the shore. But these were different. They'd look sickly if their warm points weren't a slightly pink hue. Spencer is so entranced by the images that she doesn't realize Brianne entering the lab until the soft clicking of heels approaches.

"Miss Landry-" the greeting comes from surprise as she rushes to close the tab on her computer. She's so distracted that she didn't realize her computer was still connected to the projector, displaying the final image of the grey Na'vi onto the back wall of the lab.

"We need to let Stringer know about this in full."

Spencer frowns. Stringer will want them out of his way. He'll want devastation brought unto their community until they leave their home. Anything to get whatever he's after out east. They didn't even attack the expansion drone. She can justify the war with the Omatikaya, there's a history there that can't be ignored or worked around. But these people haven't done anything. She wonders if there's a way to ignore them. Find another site for their expedition. Her consideration keeps her silent for a long while, trying to pick her next words carefully.

"...Are you sure...?"

Skorakstxey's transition to life among the Omatikaya brought him into the fold of a new family, one bound by shared struggles and a fierce determination to protect their way of life. Skora's first encounters with Jake Sully were marked by a mix of curiosity and caution. Initially, there might have been some tension as Jake, an outsider, entered their midst. However, over time, as they worked together to address the needs of the Omatikaya and faced common adversaries, a bond of mutual respect began to form between Skora and Jake. Despite their differences, they recognized the value each brought to their shared cause, ultimately cementing a friendship rooted in shared purpose and respect for Pandora's delicate balance.

As Skorakstxey journeyed alongside Neytiri and Jake, their bond deepened into a familial connection, extending beyond mere friendship. In their new life together, Skora assumed the role of a wise and nurturing figure, akin to an uncle, to Neytiri and Jake's children: Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuktirey.

With his gentle demeanor and vast knowledge of Pandora's ways, Skora became a guiding presence in the children's lives, offering wisdom gleaned from his own experiences and the teachings of their people. He shared stories of resilience, courage, and the interconnectedness of all living beings, instilling in them a deep reverence for their world and its inhabitants.

Skora's bond with the children was forged through shared adventures in the wilds of Pandora, where they explored the lush forests and delved into the mysteries of the ocean depths. Through these experiences, he imparted not only practical skills but also a profound sense of wonder and respect for the natural world.

Kiri's family has kept close watch on her since her first seizure. She can understand why. It was terrifying to be trapped in her own jolting body, unable to speak or move. To be told she could no longer connect with Eywa. She was able to do it to save her family without any problems, but now they all watch her with sharp eyes, ensuring she keeps her queue to herself. Her family means well, she knows it was just as scary for them as it was for her. She told them she'd refrain from forming the bond. She promised.

She can't stop, though. Not really. Even when she's just sitting by the shore, the waves breathe with her. The sand dances to her heartbeat, the animals swim up close to greet her. These smaller connections bring her peace. Wonderful, quiet peace. But without connecting her queue, it's dull. Distant. Like there's a layer of air over her skin.

The disconnect got frustrating. It kept her awake at night. Maybe that's why she started sneaking out. She wasn't sleeping anyway, who cares if she steals a moment for herself? She wasn't going to form tsaheylu, she just wanted a moment alone without being watched like an Ikran. One thing led to another and now Kiri isn't sleeping at all. She waits for everyone to fall asleep, then sneaks back into the pile before they wake up. It's a great system! Until someone spots her tiredness.

A big yawn cracks the young Na'vi's jaw wide open, putting her sharp canines on display. She clears her throat and grins nervously. "Yes! Very good. No problems." She explains frantically, forcing a smile with her hands folded in front of her. San'tos doesn't need to know what she does in the dark. Especially not if he's going to tell her parents. Kiri's eyes scan for anything to change the subject, landing on a basket.

"San'tos- have you seen my mother? She said she needed help ma-" Another sudden yawn cuts her off. She turns away from him and tries to cover it with a cough. "She asked me to help her make baskets." Her hands return to their spot in front of her, wringing in a fraught manor.
