The Italian neo-fascist and coup organisation, founded on 25 April 1960 by Stefano Delle Chiaie, formally dissolved in 1976 by virtue of the Scelba law, is considered to have played a major role in Italy's 'years of lead' (Anni di piombo) of social and political turmoil in the 1970s and 1980s. He was allegedly involved in the case of the 1980 terrorist bombing of the Bologna railway station, in which 85 people were killed, although he was later acquitted.
