Detroit becomes a destination for android tourism. Androids from across the country come to see where it all happened. A National Android History Museum opens some five years on from the revolution and tries to serve as both a repository for stories from the revolution and a center for android advocacy. Memorials and monuments pop up in places like Capitol Park and Hart Plaza, honoring victims and describing the significance of the locations. November 11 is a day to lay wreaths at Hart Plaza, and androids join hands there for a group interface to grieve as a whole.
There’s massive economic and social upheaval. Every time the demographics of the labor force change, there’s massive, rapid shifts in society. WWII happened, and we went from “married women are homemakers” to “Rosie the Riveter” and the idea of the dual-income household popped up in its wake. Unemployment spikes as all the androids now count as laborers, but just as quickly fall as androids set out to run their own businesses as well as humans having to hire. Escaped Tracis set up on 2038's OnlyFans-equivalents, just to fund their waystation for escapees. All this continues post-revolution, with some big influencer accounts eventually outing themselves and using their fanbase to share android voices. Gossip rags have headlines like “She Was an Android All Along!” and “Love in the Wake of Revolution”

Slow but progress is progress during a power outage
It's still super windy so I can't go use spray paint outside, so I got about 3 coats on by hand before stopping for the night (don't worry the paint brush that fell was clean and I picked it after)

I made big progress today, although you can't see it. it's finally 1.5" thick, and sanded down to 220 grit. I made some wood filler for the imperfections - which'll get sanded down tomorrow.
I was initially planning to make the distortion cavity 1.25" deep, as you can see, but it struck me... what's stopping me from going straight through? the front will be covered by the pickguard, and I can make a cover for the back like I will for the other cavity. it should work, but I have two concerns:
1. it may weaken the already damaged area around the neck, which must take a lot of tension.
2. the lighter the body gets, the greater the chance of neck dive. neck dive is the main reason I didn't buy an SG in the first place (strain on my poor left hand 😵‍💫).
however the additional space and ease of access could be crucial. it would allow me to put the power supply in the upper cavity if I wanted to. for now, i don't know which effects I'm using, and how big the circuitry is, so it's a problem for future me to solve.
I've also been flirting with the idea of spray automotive paint, and I honestly want to do it. But the grain on this walnut is gorgeous, and I especially love how it looks on the edge, how the grain wraps around the contour... wow.
anyways besides the filler, it's smooth as a baby's ass and so comfortable. I'm really proud of myself. it's honestly more ergonomic than my Corvette.
I have lots of chips left over. I'm thinking... I might glue the prettiest grains together, make a super thin sheet, and attach it to the headstock I'm refinishing. Just in the event I do a natural finish.
