The Rise of Vehicle Recycling Industry: Benefits and Players Involved
The Importance of Recycling Vehicles
In today's world, where everything is fast-paced and rapidly evolving, keeping up with the latest trends and technologies is essential. One such trend that is gaining momentum in the automobile industry is recycling vehicles. This has also led to the rise of the recycling vehicles industry. Scrap car buyers, in Delhi and car scrap dealers in Delhi are all playing their part in the recycling process of vehicles. This article will throw light on how the recycling of vehicles is not only good for the environment but also a profitable business for those involved in it.
The Role of Scrap Car Buyers
Scrap car buyers are individuals or companies that specialize in buying scrap vehicles. These vehicles may be old, damaged, or no longer in use, but they still contain valuable parts and materials that can be recycled. These scrap car buyers play a crucial role in recycling by purchasing and dismantling these vehicles, extracting valuable parts and materials, and sending them for recycling. With the increasing industry requirements, their role is gaining significance steadily.
These dealers have the expertise and knowledge to identify which scrap vehicle parts can be reused or sold and which parts need to be recycled. By doing so, they not only help reduce the amount of waste generated by old and damaged cars but also contribute to the recycling of vehicles.
Car scrap dealers in Delhi are another essential part of the vehicle recycling process. They specialize in buying scrap vehicles from individuals or companies and then either dismantle them for parts or sell them to scrap yards. These dealers help reduce the amount of waste generated by old and damaged cars and contribute to the recycling of vehicles.
The Recycling Process
The process of recycling vehicles involves several steps. The first step is to collect the scrap vehicles from their owners. The scrap car buyers, and car scrap dealers in Delhi all play their part in this step. Once the vehicles are collected, they are transported to a recycling facility.
The scrap vehicles are dismantled at the recycling facility, and the valuable parts and materials are extracted. These parts and materials are then sent for recycling, where they are used to make new products. The parts that cannot be reused or recycled are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. It is a relatively new concept, but considering the environment's needs, it is gaining prominence too.
Benefits of Recycling Vehicles
Recycling vehicles have many benefits. Firstly, it reduces the amount of waste generated by old and damaged cars. This waste can harm the environment, as it may contain hazardous materials such as oil, coolant, and batteries. Recycling vehicles helps in reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfills and also helps in reducing the need for new raw materials.
Secondly, recycling vehicles helps in conserving natural resources. Many materials used in vehicles, such as steel, aluminum, and rubber, are non-renewable resources. By recycling these materials, we reduce the need for new raw materials, which helps conserve natural resources.
Other than these factors, recycling vehicles can be a profitable business for those involved in it. Scrap car buyers in Delhi, and car scrap dealers in Delhi can profit by buying and selling scrap vehicles. The valuable parts and materials extracted from these vehicles can be sold for a profit, and the remaining parts can be sold to scrap yards for recycling.
Conclusion
Recycling vehicles is a trend that is gaining momentum in the automobile industry. Scrap car buyers, and car scrap dealers in Delhi all play their part in the recycling process of vehicles.
The process of recycling vehicles involves collecting the scrap vehicles, dismantling them, extracting the valuable parts and materials, and sending them for recycling. Recycling vehicles has many benefits, including reducing the waste generated by old and damaged cars, conserving natural resources, and being a profitable business for those involved.

Environmental pollution
The problem of environmental pollution has become very serious in recent years all over the world. Today, the air that we inhale is polluted. Our future generations will suffer from the harmful effect of pollution if we do not tackle the problem now. There are different forms of environmental pollution like water pollution, food pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, land pollution etc. No doubt, our progress and development is the result of industrial growth and technological advancement. But, this progress has a negative influence on the environment. Pollution makes the environment unfit for living. It becomes a health hazard. The unbalanced industrial growth is the main cause of air and water pollution. In India, waste from refineries and atomic plants are dumped into the rivers or seas which pose a serious threat to the health of the people living in its surrounding areas or far away. Consequently, freshwater resources are depleting very fast and water-borne diseases are on the rise. Agricultural runoffs in rivers are another major water pollutant as they contain fertilisers and pesticides. Today, we cut down trees and plants on a large scale. Air purification and generation of oxygen by trees and plants goes down due to the rampant erosion of the green cover. When forests are cut down, we face the problem of soil erosion too. Air pollution is one of the major ecological problems man is facing today. Air pollution is prominent in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata etc. where the smoke is emitted from the chimneys of mills and factories, burning agriculture stubble and noxious fumes from automobiles. Thus, air becomes polluted and we are bound to inhale such polluted air. Inhalation of the polluted air gives rise to numerous diseases especially in children and the elderly. Besides, water and air pollution, we also face the problem of noise pollution today. The problem with noise is not only that it is unwanted, but also that it negatively affects human health and well-being. Problems related to noise include tension, hearing loss, sleep loss, high blood pressure, distraction and loss of productivity, loss of concentration etc. which lead to a general reduction in the quality of life. Land pollution is caused due to dumping and disposal of wastes and application of agrochemicals in the soil. Deforestation also leads to land pollution. Cutting of trees means uneven and lesser rain pattern. Overexploitation of soil, overgrazing and cutting of trees lead to soil erosion. Hence, it is necessary to start tree plantation as a social service and national programme. Deforestation should be totally stopped. Pollution of any type is the greatest threat to our life because it causes many fatal diseases like cholera, tuberculosis, asthma and even cancer. So, pollution control measures must be used. We must take immediate and effective steps to fight pollution. We must reduce vehicular and factory smoke. To trap smoke particles, smoke chambers should be made. Gases should be discharged through exhaust pipes higher in the air. Chemical industries should not be allowed to be set up on the riverbanks. We must stop the dumping of chemical wastes into our rivers, lakes and seas. Plastic and other hazardous waste materials should be subjected to recycling. Noise pollution must be made a punishable offence. We must grow more trees and protect our forests. Pollution is harmful for all and therefore concerted efforts should be made to eliminate all kinds of pollution. The sooner effective steps are taken, the better will be the tomorrow for mankind.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG Earth Day 1970 gave a voice to an emerging public consciousness about the state of our planet — In the decades leading up to the first Earth Day, Americans were consuming vast amounts of leaded gas through massive and inefficient automobiles. Industry belched out smoke and sludge with little fear of the consequences from either the law or bad press. Air pollution was commonly accepted as the smell of prosperity. Until this point, mainstream America remained largely oblivious to environmental concerns and how a polluted environment threatens human health. However, the stage was set for change with the publication of Rachel Carson’s New York Times bestseller Silent Spring in 1962. The book represented a watershed moment, selling more than 500,000 copies in 24 countries as it raised public awareness and concern for living organisms, the environment and the inextricable links between pollution and public health. E Waste Social
A B2B auction platform for waste management ensuring ease of waste recycling and refurbishing at your fingertips.
Industry condition/ Unique start of the entrepreneur
Often, recycling and repurposing are viewed by companies as tedious, time-consuming, and pointless efforts, and therefore are not prioritized. In the minds of most people, this entire process is unimportant, since most middlemen deal in waste.
Many of us do not realize that recycling is a powerful tool for optimizing resources and getting the most from waste.. These resources would go unused if they were not recycled, causing harm to the environment as well.
Many recyclers and PROs operate throughout the country, but waste is still dismantled by underage children and women in the informal sector.
Our platform, E Waste Social, makes recycling and refurbishing online as simple as buying products online.
Through innovations such as auction platforms, it is now possible to recycle and refurbish responsibly. However, E Waste Social realized that one innovation is not sufficient, which is why they are developing E optimal, a cloud-based platform for helping corporations decide whether to keep, refurbish, or recycle. By developing best practices and finding new solutions for efficient waste management, their R&D lab constantly strives to stay ahead of the curve. E Waste Social Network is built on trust, which fosters a culture of inclusion and effective communication, resulting in a robust e-waste management ecosystem.
Existing positioning/ services of the company
They have built an ecosystem to connect waste to the nearest recycler through a marketplace and auction platform. They provide recyclers with R&D insights into the most recent industry trends. They are also increasing capacity to ensure that recycling facilities are available to handle waste generated at various locations.
While raising recycling awareness and sensitizing the public, they are helping OEMs meet their EPR and sustainable development goals. Their ultimate goal is to ensure resource optimization and a circular economy by recycling waste with the nearest recycler / refurbisher. Their customer base consists of corporate businesses, institutions, hospitals, and industries.
Initial journey
As a lifelong environmentalist, Iram has spent many weekends organizing recycling drives and public awareness campaigns with LCI, RTI, and FICCI Flo. However, as the Head of Operations for an Educational Institution, he was responsible for the bulk purchase and disposal of computers and laptops. During a trip to Delhi, she witnessed underage children dismantling e-waste with their bare hands. where he discovered numerous loopholes in the E waste recycling industry. That’s when she decided to take the plunge and create something truly beneficial to the recycling industry.
In November 2019, he launched E Waste Social in response to it. It is a B2B technology platform offering waste aggregation, recycling, carbon footprint reduction, and CSR, along the entire value chain.
Aditya was already working on an idea for optimizing electronic assets, which aids in the efficient refurbishing and recycling of e waste. Iram collaborated with him to achieve the common goal because there were synergies. They decided to take the plunge and build the platform full-time as there was an urgent need for the recycling eco system.
Future prospects/ outlook
E Waste Social platform and recycler eco systems can address the pain points of e waste, metal scrap, automobile waste, and textile waste generated while manufacturing garments in the fashion and lifestyle industry.
The cutting stage of garment manufacturing is responsible for the majority of pre-consumer fabric waste. Fabric selvedges and leftover fabric scraps are examples of pre-consumer waste generated on factory floors during cutting and the manufacturing process of apparel making. E Waste Social will connect them to the nearest recyclers, ensuring recycling as well as circularity and resource optimisation.
E Waste Social has successfully managed electronic waste and is now expanding into textile / garment waste to ensure that waste is used efficiently during the manufacturing process and is not dumped in landfills.
E Waste Social hopes to establish a platform for exchanging and recycling used clothing while purchasing new clothing. The global textile market is expected to reach USD 1,041.8 billion in 2021, up from USD 1000.3 billion in 2020. This will ensure that used clothing is recycled efficiently and does not end up in landfills.
The consumer will receive nominal benefits / incentives for recycling as a result of the exchange. It would assist retailers and manufacturers in meeting their extended producer responsibility by ensuring that the material could be recycled and reused and used back in manufacturing .

IESA to launch India Battery Supply Chain Council; aims to develop complete supply chain ecosystem for batteries
With the view to developing a holistic ecosystem for the supply chain of batteries, the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) India’s leading industry alliance on energy storage, e-mobility and microgrids have announced that it will launch the India Battery Supply Chain Council (IBSCC) on Thursday, December 9 in Delhi.
IBSCC will serve as a common platform for all relevant stakeholders to work on the complete development of the battery supply chain needed to support upcoming gigafactories in India.
“Apart from setting up 4-5 gigafactories under the ACC PLI,” explained Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President, IESA. “We need to develop a complete supply chain for availing raw materials needed for these gigafactories so that we are not replacing one co-dependency with other.”
IESA organized IBSCC’s first stakeholder’s meet on Thursday, December 2, outlining its goals, vision, and plan of action for the months ahead.
“What we hope to do through IBSCC is to identify issues, faced by member companies or industry collectively [related to raw materials, material supply or R&D], establish a consortium, so we have a better chance of not just meeting requirements of the Indian gigafactories, but can also become a supplier for global giga factories being set up in Europe and Americas in the coming decade,” said Dr. Walawalkar.
The Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme envisages setting up a cumulative manufacturing capacity of 50 GWh for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) and an additional cumulative capacity of 5 GWh for niche ACC technologies. Beyond the ACC PLI target of 50 GWh of cell manufacturing capacity and supporting the chemical processing industry to get developed by 2027, IESA expects 100+ GWh manufacturing capacity to be built in India by 2030 and 500+ GWh of manufacturing capacity by 2035.
At the first stakeholder's meet, it was announced that V.K. Soni, Head of Projects, Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd will Chair the newly formed IBSCC, and Vikram Handa, MD, Epsilon Carbon Ltd will serve as its co-chair.
Production Linked Incentives (PLI) schemes for automobile, auto components, and advanced chemistry cell battery storage manufacturing will provide impetus to the domestic manufacturing ecosystem involved in manufacturing EVs and lithium-ion batteries (LiB), noted V. K. Soni, IBSCC Chair.
However, he cautioned, that faster implementation along with the creation of indigenous capacities of key components [required in making LiBs] were important factors for the success of the schemes.
IBSCC currently includes 10+ core companies, namely, BASF, Epsilon Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd, Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd., Atotech Group, Applied Materials, MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, Lucas TVS, 24M Technologies, Fortum Recycling & Waste, Neogen Chemicals Limited, Bry-Air (Asia) Private Limited, Bry-Air Inc., Ador Digatron Pvt. Cars are the necessities of modern life. According to sources, there are 1 billion cars in active use all over the world. About 165,000 cars are produced every day. This means 60 million cars per year. And there are cities where the total number of cars exceeds the total number of people.
Car or automobile accessories are complementary to your dearest car. A car without its accessory is just like a mobile phone without a network. Here are a few facts about car accessories that you probably don’t know.
Put your seat belts on, here we go!
Surprising Facts About Car Exterior Accessories:
The total number of parts: In an average car, there are 30,000 auto parts. That is a huge number to put together as a whole part, isn’t it? This number includes all nuts, bolts, screws, and washers. About 80% Cr is recyclable. That is good for the environment.
Car Theft: according to reports, more than 100 vehicles are reported stolen every day in Delhi. There is a continuous rise in this crime while the recovery rate is hopelessly low. It is better to install necessary safety accessories to prevent your car from stealing.
Side-view mirrors: A side-view mirror was a luxury until the late 1980s.
Tire: An average tire tread will last until 3-5 years and can run about 25,000 miles to 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced.
Headlights: Keeping your headlights on during the daytime reduces the chances of a collision while driving.
Car Bumper: A standard Car Bumper is designed to withstand an impact of 5 miles per hour.
Facts about Car interiors:
Approximately, 5 months of an average person’s life is spent waiting in a car at red lights. This gives a reason to accessorize your car internally. Let these 5 months be comfortable with the best car interiors accessories.

NCERT Class 12 Solutions for Biology Chapter 16 Environmental Issues
QUESTIONS FROM TEXTBOOK SOLVED
1. What are the various constituents of domestic sewage? Discuss the effects of sewage discharge on a river.Ans: Domestic sewage contains four kind of impurities:(i) Suspended solids: They are soil particles such as sand and silt.(ii) Colloidal particles: They are inorganic and organic materials such as faecal matter, bacteria, paper and cloth.(iii) Dissolved solids : They are nitrates, phosphates, ammonia, sodium, calcium and other nutrients.(iv) Pathogens : Domestic sewage has pathogens of various diseases such as typhoid, cholera, dysentery, diarrhoea, etc. Effect of sewage discharge on river are:(i) Eutrophication.(ii) Growth of pathogenic bacteria.(iii) Ageing of river where slit and decaying matters start accumulating and filling river.(iv) Increase in BOD.(v) Destruction of flora and fauna of that river.
2. List all the wastes that you generate, at home, school or during your trips to other places. Could you very easily reduce the generation of these wastes? Which would be difficult or rather impossible to reduce?Ans: Plastic containers, paper, electronic goods, left over food, food package, disposable glasses, cup plates, polythenes, excreta, soap and detergent waste are the wastes that one can generate at home, school or during trips to other places. Yes, we can easily reduce waste through judicious use of material by changing our habits & life styles.Out of these, polythene and plastic material are hard to dispose off as they are non- biodegradable and they can be recycled back.
3. Discuss the causes and effects of global warming. What measures need to be taken to control global warming?Ans: Increase in atmospheric concentration of green house gases has resulted in rise of atmospheric temperature by 0.6°C (global wanning) in die 20th century. This has been confirmed by intergovernmental panel on climatic change (IPCC) in its reports of 1991 and 1992. This predictable change in near future may affect climate, sea level, range of species distribution, food production as well as fisheries resources in the oceans.Causes of global warming:(i) Increase in concentration of greenhouse gases.(ii) Increase of automobile and use of fossil fuel.(iii) Deforestation and change in land use.(iv) CFC and aerosol emission from refrigerator and aeroplane.(v) Increased particulate matter in lower atmosphere.Effects of global warming:(i) CO2 fertilisation effect.(ii) Many species of plants, being sensitive to temperature will die with sudden rise in temperature and their place will be taken over by scrub vegetation.(iii) Loss of biodiversity.(iv) Rise in sea level.(v) Possibilities of drought and floods.(vi) Erruption of plant disease and pests.(vii) Change in rainfall pattern. Methods that can reduce the atmospheric concentration of greenhouses gases are(i) Reducing the greenhouse gas emission by limiting the use of fossil fuels, and by developing alternative renewable sources of energy (wind energy, solar energy etc.)(ii) Increasing the vegetation cover, mainly the forests, for photosynthetic utilization of CO2.(iii) Minimizing the use of nitrogen fertilizers in agriculture for reducing N2O emissions.(iv) Developing substitutes for chlorofluorocar- bons.
4. Match the items given in column A and B:Ans: (a)-(iii),(b)-(iv),(c)-(i),(d)-(ii)
5. Write critical notes on the following:(a) Eutrophication(b) Biological magnification(c) Groundwater depletion and ways for its replenishmentAns: (a)Eutrophication : It is excessive growth of algae, plants and animals in water bodies due to the nutrient enrichment particularly with nitrogen and phosphorus. It is both natural and accelerated. It leads to loss of bio-diversity and cuases chemical accumulation in food chain and ageing of water body.(b) Biological magnification : Increase in concentration of persistent chemical at successive trophic levels is called eutrophication. This happens because a toxic substance accumulated by an organism can not be metabolized or excreted, and is thus passed onto next trophic level, e.g., DDT.(c) Ground water depletion and replacement: Ground water depletion, a term often defined as long term water level declines caused by sustained ground water pumping, is a key issue associated with ground water use. Many areas of India experiencing ground water depletion. The most servere consequence of excessive ground water pumping is that the water table, below which the ground is saturated – with water, can be lowered. If ground water level declines too far, then the well owner might have to deepen the well, drill a new well, or at least attempt to lower the pump.
6. Why does ozone hole forms over Antarctica? How will enhanced ultraviolet radiation affect us?Ans: A large amount of ODS (Ozone Depleting Sub-stances) like CFCs, N2O, halons, SO2, CH4, Cl-are released by advanced countries like USA, Japan, European countries. These are released in stratosphere, drift towards poles and reach there before the coming of winter. During winter (temp. 85°C) ice clouds are formed over Antarctica and no sunrise is received in polar areas. It catalyses release of Cl from CFCs. With the coming of spring season, Cl reacts with ozone in the presence of sunlight and converts 03 into 02 causing ozone depletion/thining of ozone shield in stratosphere called ozone hole. This hole disappears in summer due to free mixing of air ofAntarctica with therestofthe global air. Effect of Enhanced UV Radiation, (i) Snow blindness or inflammation of cornea (ii) Damage of skin cells and development of skin cancer, (iii) Damage to nucleic acids and proteins, (iv) Reduced immunity (v) Higher number of cataracts in humans.
7. Discuss the role of women and communities in protection and conservation of forests.Ans: Amrita Bishnoi Wildlife protection project The Bishnoi community is known for its peaceful coexistence with nature. It was in 1730 AD. Amrita Devi protested against king’s men’s attemptto cut trees as it was prohibited in Bishnoi religion. It was a party of Maharaja Abhay Singhji, Rular of Marwar (Jodhpur) state who wanted to fell green khejdali trees. Amrita Devi fy her three daughter & more than 360 of other Bishnois lost their lives in saving trees & became martyers. Later ‘Chipko’ movement’ was started by Sunderlal Bahuguna and others to prevent cutting of trees. The people showed enormous bravery in protecting trees from the axe of contractors by hugging them.
8. What measures, as an individual, would you take to reduce environmental pollution?Ans: To reduce environmental pollution we should take following measures:(i) Reducing use of CFC.(ii) Disposing off waste safely.(iii) Reducing use of polythene.(iv) Not disposing off waste in water bodies.(v) Making automobiles pollution free.(iv) Prevention of noise pollution by using fire crackers/TV/musical instruments at permissible limits.(vii) Tree plantation in school, around residence.
9. Discuss briefly the following:(a) Radioactive wastes(b) Defunct ships and e-wastes(c) Municipal solid wastesAns: (a) Radioactive waste : Radioactive waste include materials that are radioactive & for which there is no further practical use. These are generated by nuclear reactor, nuclear fallout, man made (refining and mining of platinum and thorium), natural radioactive waste and release of radiation in radiation therapy.Increased risk of cancer, birth defects & infertility are few harmful effects caused by nuclear waste. So, nuclear waste is an extremely potent pollutant.(b) Defunct ships & e-wastes – The dismantling of defunct ship is a technically complex process, which is potentially harmful to the environment & human health. Defunct i ships contain toxicants like asbestos, mercury, etc. The workers breaking the ships are not suitably protected and are exposed to toxic chemicals. The coastal areas in the vicinity of the ship-breaking yard also becomes polluted. At the international level, it is accepted that there is uncertainty about the relevant controls for the dismantling of such vessels & there is an urgent need to establish a specific enforceable control framework.Electronic waste comprised of irrepairable computer and other electronic goods, generated by developed countries. It is valuable source of secondary raw materials, if treated properly, however if not treated properly it is the major source of toxins. Eventually recycling is the only solution for the treatment of e-wastes provided it is carried out in an environment friendly manner.(c) Municipal solid wastes : These are commonly known as trash or garbage. It consists of everyday items such as product packaging, furniture, clothing, bottles, food scraps, newspapers.appliances, paints, batteries etc. Source reduction, recycling and compositing are several municipal social waste management practices. Source reduction involves altering the design, manufacture or use of products & materials to reduce die amount and toxicity of what gets thrown away. Recycling diverts items such as paper, glass, plastic & metals into anew products. Composting decomposes organic waste such as food scraps & yard trimmings with micro-organisms, producing a humus-like substance.
10. What initiatives were taken for reducing vehicular air pollution in Delhi? Has air quality improved in Delhi?Ans: The initiatives were taken for reducing vehicular air pollution in Delhi are :-(i) Introduction of CNG(ii) Enforcement of pollution control law(iii) Introduction of green zones(iv) Use of unleaded fuels(v) Replacement of old vehicle with new one. The result is that the air quality of Delhi has improved considerably with a substantial fall in pollutant gases.(vi) Use of catalytic converters in vehicles.(vii) Application of Euro II norms for vehicle.
11. Discuss briefly the following:(a) Greenhouse gases(b) Catalytic converter(c) Ultraviolet BAns: (a) Greenhouse gases: Gases that trap the heat of the sun in the earth’s atmosphere increasing atmospheric temperature effect are called greenhouses gases. CO2, CH4, N2O and CFC, cause greenhouse. In the absence of greenhouse gases, the temperature of earth would go down to -18°C. The net effect of higher GHGs will be disastrous, (i) Melting of polar ice caps and mountain snow caps resulting in rising of sea level threatening submergence of many islands and coastal areas. Odd climate changes like El Nino. Increased floods and drought.(b) Catalytic converter : Catalytic converter ‘are used to reduce emission of poisonous gases like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide & un reacted hydrocarbon in automotive emission. It is made of platinum, palladium and rhodium and is used as catalyst. It converts unbumt hydrocarbons into CO2. The only precaution required is not to use gasoline having lead as lead inactivates the catalysts of the converter.(c) Ultraviolet B : Ultraviolet B is one of the three types of invisible light rays given off by the sun. Ultraviolet B penetrates the ozone layer in attenuated form & reaches earths. This is more over equator than poles due to thinning of ozone shield over equator. It causes skin cancer, reduce rate of photosynthesis in phytoplanktons, reduces diversity of aquatic ecosystem.
