sometimes in trek: spock, data, julian, odo, seven or t'pol will say something and like, other characters will react in certain ways (annoyance or amusement) and the moments will be presented by the show as like "oh lookit this social blunder haha" and i'll be like

"i see what the show wants me to feel but literally what are they doing wrong here"

#note that im perfectly capable of recognising when these characters are being Bitches #(except for data who is pure and kind and never mean)#autism doesn't shut off the bitch function thank you very much #but im not talking about those moments. im talking about when they're presented as doing an Social Uh Oh #and im like. no actually its everybody else who is making this weird actually #autism is stored in the me. and star trek #i got an example of an especially weird one #pike offers spock coffee. spock says no. spock says he prefers tea #pike gives an amused ''haha what a weirdo'' look. hello???#literally WHAT is weird about that #also enterprise treating vegetarianism as some alien trait jhkfsajh
