Keith - Autistic Character Headcanon

So Keith Kogane is one of all time favourite autistic headcanons. Unrelated but Pidge is also autistic but on the topic of Keith.

My headcanon comes from different scenes in the show. A key part of Keith is his social behaviour and communication issues which lead to not only his lack of friends but also his struggle to connect with the other paladins. Lance often misreads Keith's behaviour in the series leading to many arguments between them, but Keith is just a blunt autistic. Keith also has emotional regulation issues, he cares about routine, he is easily awkward and has a very blank tone.

Also his story with struggling with his identity and who he is. This connects to a lot of autistic experiences especially those who grew up masking heavily. Keith coming into his own with his "Found Family" in Voltron connects to some of my specific experiences and it's part of the reason why Keith is such an important character to me :)

Looks like I’m wrapping up this month of April with my artwork as Branch, Queen Poppy, Queen Rose, Cooper, Biggie and Mr. Dinkles, Queen Barb, and King Trollex hanging out together. They all have butterfly charms on their accessories, indicating that they have autism. Goodbye April, hello May!

Penny - Autistic Character Headcanon

It’s autism month, so I’m sharing my headcanons and shit because I’m a nerdy loser and I really have nothing better to do.

Penny Polendina from RWBY. Look, RWBY has many issues from a story standpoint, but I watch it because I’m emotionally attached to some of these characters such as Penny. Now moving past that, let’s go onto why I headcanon Penny as autistic.

Penny can tend to go a little overboard in some situations, such as her affection when it comes to Ruby. She bounces and moves quite fast when she’s happy and excited. 

Also, Penny isn’t very well versed in social cues. She knows things very well, which causes her to sound confusing to others. Penny is considered to be a weird person by characters within the story. 

Penny has a unique story line of struggling with her identity as she was originally made as a robot. This connects to many autistic experiences with identity. That I personally can connect to. 

Penny has a powerful sense of justice and experienced a very close and quick attachment to Ruby. She is has set routines and wakes up quite early.

The point is, I really love Penny :)

Tofu is such a game changing autistic food. This whole time I’ve been complaining how there should be a food that’s just all of the nutrients you need and doesn’t taste like anything and you can eat it once and be good to go and tofu literally is that. The macros on it are insane and it’s the perfect amount of bland and texture for a little bit of hot sauce and it fucks.
