What is your absolute favorite Hualian fic? Or fics if you can't choose. (Mine are yours!)

You’re very sweet to me.

My all time favorite is: Hold the Quiet of my Heart by moonsteps. It made me cry a ton. It made me feel warm and safe. It’s very Hualian with their fast-slow burn and their easy domesticity and their support through their issues. Genuinely did a lot for me emotionally and I think of it a lot.

I honestly like all of moonsteps stuff. Other fic authors I pretty much read everything they post are: astrocosmos, b_ofdale, and Linisen (though I think I still haven’t read all her older stuff to be honest, I mostly keep up on her multichapters)

“Glimpses of you” by Naamah_Beherit - I have enjoyed pretty much everything I have read from this author, every time I search through a fandom tag and find their name I’m like!!! Naamah_Beherit is at it again!! I should really look through their list of works, but I keep forgetting. This is on the angsty side, with a dash of determination and hope from past Hua Cheng.

Comments: I read this fic a few days ago, and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since! I was a bit scared by the angst of the premise, but there’s actually not much to be afraid of. The writing is like a dream, with a beautiful, satisfying ending. it’s got a bit of everything: emotions, light angst, comedy, a comforting vibe. I got teary-eyes more than once, in a good way! It kind of feels like a Ghibli movie? (There’s also a non-binary background original character, who was a delightful addition.) I can’t recommend it enough!

Summary:  Wei Wuxian died twice.

Hundreds of years later, Wei Ying, a young artist in search of escape and inspiration comes to Gusu. There, he meets a mysterious recluse—a mysterious recluse who, unbeknownst to Wei Ying, has been waiting for him for a long, long time.

My comments:  A sweet, soft story in which Wei Ying (an artist and photographer) wanders into Gusu to hunker down for a while and comes across the local mysterious recluse.

It doesn't take wwx too long to pick up on the fact that he's probably (or at least they THINK he is) the reincarnated Wei Wuxian of olden times. But he doesn't remember that, and comes to Lan Wangji on his own terms.
