Another quality day on the road

More of a chill day today but apparently my last full day in TX!

Yesterday was a quintessential Kelly day. I drove to the original Texas Chainsaw house in Kingsland and nerded out and had a burger. It's a restaurant called Hooper's now, which is cute. Then I went to the Texas Chainsaw graveyard (from the first scene in the movie). THEN I met @churlishopossum at a famous bbq place in Austin.

Crappy weather and crazy cramps couldn't stop me from going to a cool-ass bookstore and eating one of the top 3 pastas of my entire life. I didn't do as much today as I wanted to, but the drive to find fresh-made pasta was beautiful and fun and made me ache for overgrown Florida summers.

I went for a walk, had some food and booze, and made conversation with some older locals. I'm feeling SO much better than I did when I got up this morning. There's not a ton to do in this little suburb. It's really similar to the beach town I grew up in/currently inhabit, where there's a corner mainstreet strip for tourists. I'm also staying almost exactly as far from that strip as I live from the analogous strip at home, so there's something about it that feels very homey and comfy to me.

every time you make a post about going to austin i misread it as autism. every time. and every time i'm like why only a trip move in we're happy to have you. anyway have a great time in austin
