Father’s Love

Cinema Rehiyon is a workshop that'll help amateur film directors to show off their work and established their names in the film industry. Our last day of February was filled with genre of short films from various film directors that excert their fullest efforts to tell a story through film. A film which depicts the culture of Filipinos from any areas of our country.

As a digital arts student, the very first film shown on that day got my attention. During that time I was expecting for an animation film created by Filipino Artists, whom will give us some tips to know more about digital animation.

This animation entitled "Unos" was directed by Aurthur Mercader, a story about the relationship between Father and his son. Their journey in the middle of the sea while facing a typhoon and giant monster-like fish, test how much he loves his son. Director told us during discussion that being a father and how you act as a father will make a big influence to your child.

The film reflects to Filipino culture when it comes to Father's love. As shown in the short film, a father sacrificed his own life to save his son from the deep sea creature. A scene that relates to many Fililinos, especially for Fathers out there. Taking care of his Family from any unsafe scenarios even if it will risk his own life.

"Unos" was applauded by many students inside the theater aside of its story. Their efforts when it comes to animating  characters and scenes is very captivating. Just like what these directors said, wishing them to achieved their goals in Cinema Industry. This film worth a singles penny if it will given a chance to show on different cinemas nationwide.
