Something I like:

In the FOTR EE’s Concerning Hobbits prologue, every time the door goes, Bilbo shouts on Frodo to get it, eventually grumbling, “Sticklebacks, where is that boy?” While Frodo’s off in the woods, reading his book and waiting for Gandalf.

But in the prologue of AUJ, Frodo actually tells Bilbo where he’s going. So if you take them together, it’s like Bilbo’s got so caught up in his book and his memories, he’s completely forgotten what Frodo told him like, an hour ago. Which... mood.

Ok, so I’m thinking of watching this particular Hobbit Fan Edit because I’ve liked what the editor said of what they kept and what they got rid of AND it’s the only one that includes scenes from the BotFA EE, as far as I can tell (I think the other editors, while good or so I’ve heard, just lost interest in doing edits by the time the BotFA EE came out). 

The one thing I’m most sad about is that they left out the Erebor sequence at the beginning, but it’s not like AUJ doesn’t exist (I actually have almost no issues with AUJ, it’s DoS and BotFA that I think make... questionable... narrative choices.) But honestly even if there are better edits out there I just really want to see one which includes the BotFA EE and this seems to be the best one for that. If they cut too many things I love, I may just switch to watching AUJ as it is then do fan edits for DoS and BotFA because honestly anything that cuts out the cringe moments in those movies is welcome.

Yeahhh. I dont have any of it. I just have brief one hour behind the scenes on AUJ of how they made the dwarves and casting them, and then the 7 minute or so clip of New Zealand, and then DS is like 7 minute clip of NZ again of the cast enjoying it and then 2 trailers and I think it's the same on BOTFA.

That just... I'm a little tweaked how they could do that? Like 5 different copies.

Normal, EE,EE plus background info, Blu-ray EE, and then 3D EE.

Hi! Sorry for the surprise ask, I didn't know how else to reply. They're from the Extended Editions, named "Appendices". AUJ has Appendices 7-8, DOS has 9-10, BOTFA has 11-12 (the numbering is a continuation from the LOTR Appendices). Hope you find them!

thinking of elrond saying "a strain of madness runs deep in that family. his grandfather lost his mind. his father succumbed to the same sickness. can you swear thorin will not also fall?"

i have a movie headcanon now (bc i suspect the book lore behind the dragon sickness is different than the movie lore)......

plot twist: dragon sickness isn't a hereditary mental condition, since thorin's grandfather was simply full of greed, & his father went mad because he was being tortured by the necromancer in gundabad.

& the reason why thorin succumbs to it is actually bc he had so little faith in himself after being doubted by both his allies (gandalf & elrond) & his "enemies" (thranduil & bard)

Watching auj extended edition, and the best part of the movie is the beginning (imo), where Bilbo is speaking of Erebor and it both kills me and fills me with such happiness. The way he speaks of it, you can hear the love and wonder in his tone. There's enough of it there to make thorin majestically smile like a dope for hours.

Both Lobelia and Otho are apparently in The Hobbit AUJ extended walking behind Bilbo You get a good look at her style and the look Otho gives Bilbo lol
