Generation 1 of my FMA OCs, featuring @cybzilla‘s Augustus Fischer! ♡
Augustus Fischer (61) - Military Captain (CV: Shinshū Fuji)
Married to Francine and father of William and Mitzie. He is Cassie's paternal grandfather.
He lost his eye in the military and has a glass eye, but wears an eyepatch instead because Mitzie told him it would look cooler.
He's a simple man of simple tastes, unlike his wife and daughter.
He does Illegal Things, but Francine does ILLEGAL THINGS™ so he doesn't get to see her often.
He dies to save Dodger, Mitzie's bodyguard (and future husband), from being shot.
William never meets his father but attends his funeral. While there, Mitzie tells him that she can see their resemblance.
He's the reason William, Lucy, and Cassie tend to blush easily.
Francine Falcone (64) - Mafia Boss (CV: Kujira)
Married to Augustus and mother of William and Mitzie. She is Cassie's paternal grandmother.
She is an Aerugoian immigrant.
She met Gus while he was on military business in Aerugo; they quickly fell in love and she returned with him to Amestris.
She is a part of the infamous Falcone family, which is a major player of the mafia circle. She is Carmine Falcone’s sister.
To keep William safe, she changed his last name and Mitzie kept Gus’ last name.
She raised William at a distance until he was old enough to be on his own while Mitzie was raised by Gus; after this, she disappeared so her family wouldn't be targeted. Despite having good intentions, Francine is the reason why William makes sure to be involved in his daughters' lives so much since he never got an involved parent as a child.
When Augustus died, she came to his funeral despite the risks involved. After this, he never saw her again.
She has expensive taste and loves anything luxurious, much like her daughter.
She has fantastic aging genes, which she passes down to her children and grandchildren (they keep their brown hair 'til their sixties).
Irene Marlowe (43) - Tailor (CV: Kikuko Inoue)
She is Linda's mother, making her Cassie's maternal grandmother.
She taught William how to sew when she found out Linda was pregnant so he could make clothes for his children.
Her brooch was a gift from Linda's father before he left; she likes to hold it when she thinks of him.
Irene claims Linda gets her restlessness from her father since they both love to travel.
Irene dies at 43 due to tuberculosis. She was living with William, Linda, and Lucy at the time and was happy being around her family.
She spoiled Lucy as a child; if she lived to meet Cassie, she would have spoiled her, too.
When Irene dies, Linda leaves to find her father. When she does find him, he's already had a child with another woman. Furious, Linda kicks him in the groin to make sure he won't be able to have any more kids.
While she's angry with her father, Linda feels no ill-will towards the other woman nor her half-sister, Cassandra. They bond while she's "visiting" and she eventually decides to name her unborn daughter after her.
Na Lai (28) - Bomb Maker (CV: Satsuki Yukino)
She is Jin's mother.
When she was 18, she was chosen as the Xingese emperor's first concubine despite secretly being a lesbian.
While she didn't love the emperor, she loved Jin dearly and tried to protect him from the world as best she could.
She trained Jin to fight from a young age by lacing their home with traps and bombs. Jin learned how to navigate them, and while Na didn't want to teach her son how to fight so young she knew it would keep him out of harm's way.
Jin was born biologically female but identifies as male. Na could tell he felt this way since he rejected his assigned gender since he was little, and dressed him in boy's clothes. Her support was integral to him feeling comfortable with his identity.
Because of Jin being the emperor's first child and therefore first in line for the Xingese throne, he was targeted by assassins from other clans all his life. Na wanted a better life for him, so she smuggled him out of Xing when he was young. However, she was killed by assassins while doing so.
Jin eventually took up Na's craft and vowed to help reform the system, be it through violence or otherwise.
#fma#fullmetal alchemist#fma oc#augustus fischer#francine falcone#irene marlowe#na lai#gus and franny are THE power couple.....i love them#the whole falcone thing is for the dc verse mainly since that's like THE mafia family in that universe#she's carmine's sister#thank u cyb for the helpful mafia diagram i still have it#SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT HHHH

Gus couldn’t remember exactly why he’d agree to come to his dad’s for a summer vacation. In fact when his dad had suggested he visit in the summer, Gus had pointed out that he was well above the age when people were on summer vacation. But in the end he’d decided to go for at least a little while. It would at least give him a chance to see his kid stepsister who apparently was also coming to visit. With that in mind, he’d set off for a vacation. He’d come in late at night and has snuck in with the hopes that he didn’t wake anyone. After throwing his bag in what was now a guest room, he shuffled through the house to the large kitchen for a midnight dinner. God bless his stepmom for actually knowing how to cook. He honestly was too busy messing around in the kitchen that he didn’t hear the other until he nearly ran into her. “What the fuck!” he said quickly when he finally saw her. “Did no one tell you not to sneak up on old men. Heart attacks are a real thing, you know.” He’s not that old, but compared to her. It’s only when he catches his breath that he notices Amelia is not a kid any more and wonders when she had the audacity to become such a gorgeous woman. “How’ve you been? When did you get in?”

Women and Oregon breweries, a post-1984 list.
When I heard there was no list of women who owned or co-owned breweries in Oregon I knew I had to make it right.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/005f7fe7ab2abcaff8c28c443b750bd8/e3c3982c14cc6d52-e9/s540x810/9093b946515122e4bd5c8332ae6a3894d2152e6c.jpg)
I pulled together a list of women listed as owners (and a handful of brewers) using the information in Oregon Brew Tour (2011), Oregon Breweries (2014), on Jeff Alworth’s blog, the breweries identified on the Oregon Brewers Guild site, and a Google Maps search combined with the info in the Oregon State Business Registry Database.
Note: Some of the women included in this post include women who are listed as owners / co-owners in the forms filed and uploaded to the State Business Registry Database. I’m not sure how involved they are in day-to-day operations.
I'll be filling in gaps as I do more research, but email me at [email protected] to add names and make my job easier!
Note: people leave jobs and businesses close, and I have not noted that here. This is more a tally of “all time” rather than a current list.
June 10, 2021: I had what felt like a brilliant, though tedious, idea to search the State Business Registry Database for “brew*” (wildcard at the end of that search word because librarians roll like that), but after spending way too much time opening a lot of business records looking for female owner / co-owners I scrolled to the bottom to see how large my task was, only to find that the site would only display the first 1000 names. It stopped at Heater Allen. 🙄I’ve added what I found here, but note that some may have been registered and never opened.
I’ve done many, many, many interviews with women related to brewing in Oregon (many brewers who could be added to this list). You can find those on the guide to OHBA collections.

OCTOBER 15, 2021 UPDATE:
I got a question that asked: “Do you have a sense of what overall percentage that reflects?” The short version of the long answer is that it’s really hard to find out.
Learn more about how to research the industry on the Beer Research Guide.
What’s below still gives some data edges.
TOTALS: According to the Brewers Association:
In 2020, there were 312 breweries in Oregon
In 2019, there were 311 breweries
In 2017, there were 266 breweries
In 2015, there were 215 breweries
In 2013, there were 181 breweries
In 2011, there were 124 breweries
According to portlandbeer.org (a now defunct new blog), in 2007, there were 64 brewing companies operating 90 brewing facilities (so lots of McMenamins and other breweries with multiple locations).
CLOSURES
In 2020, 21 breweries / taprooms closed (New School Beer)
In 2019, 18 closed (New School Beer)
In 2017, 24 opened (Portland Business Journal) and 10 closed (New School Beer)
And it seems there was an average of 7-ish closing each year before that (Register Guard)
Another list that includes numbers on closures (ratebeer.com).
I have found state guidebooks (which are immediately out of date, so immediately “historical” useful in this search. They are listed on the Oregon Hops and Brewing Archives guide.

Vet: Well, he’s not throwing up, which is a good sign. So, I’m gonna take him in back, put him on fluids and give him something to absorb the toxins.

Generation 2 of my FMA OCs, featuring the newest addition to the family, @cybzilla‘s Mitzie! (*'∇'*)
Jin Lai (46) - Hermit (CV: Akira Ishida)
Guillermo’s childhood friend and eventual romantic partner.
He is the first of the Xingese emperor's children and was smuggled out of Xing with the help of Fu as a small child.
He is transgender! Na was the one who gave him his new name as a child. Because his record in Xing lists him as female with a female name, he's been able to remain hidden from Xingese authorities and rival clans.
Jin doesn't want to be the emperor because the system mandates that he have female concubines and he is not attracted to women. He only wants to live in peace with Guillermo.
He's lived in solitude for many decades. It was only until Ling, Lan Fan, and Fu searched for him that he reluctantly joined them. He wants Ling to ascend the throne so he doesn't have to.
At first he only supports Ling because he doesn't want to be emperor, but he eventually develops a soft spot for his energetic little half-brother. This is evident by the fact that he stays with Ling even after Fu dies.
In the other universes, he’s married to Guillermo and is a librarian.
Linda Marlowe (46) - Traveler (CV: Junko Takeuchi)
Lucy and Cassie's surrogate mother. Is currently traveling the country, specific whereabouts unknown.
Guillermo has no consistent way of contacting her, so he made her promise to call and write letters from wherever she's from so he knows she's okay.
She occassionally visits Guillermo and the girls, but has a rocky relationship with Cassie because she was more present when Lucy was growing up. This gets better as she gets older.
She has no interest in being in a relationship; what she did for Guillermo was a personal favor for a friend. The only thing she's married to is beer.
She has a high tolerance for alcohol and claims Guillermo and Jin are no fun to drink with since they get drunk easily. Cassie has a similarly high alcohol tolerance when she's older while Lucy gets her dad's. This has led to some unfortunate crying sessions at bars for Lucy over how she'll never get a boyfriend or girlfriend.
In the other universes, she’s an archaeologist who is usually gone on trips.
Guillermo Fernández (46) - Teacher (CV: Kishō Taniyama)
Father of Lucy and Cassie and is in a romantic relationship with Jin.
He teaches at the town's school that Mitzie and Lucy went to. He homeschooled Cassie since she was too sickly to go to school.
Even though he taught Mitzie in school, he had no idea they were related until recently. He tries to look after her like a father would when he can, given her "exciting" lifestyle.
He’s BFFs with Dodger since they're so similar. Lucy and Cassie were what made him (and Mitzie) want children of their own.
He's an outgoing, kind, and gentle person. People don't know how Cassie and Lucy are related to him sometimes.
He calls people that usually go by nicknames their full names, like Cassie, Dodger, and Mitzie. When he calls them by their first and middle names, they know they're in trouble.
His name was changed from Falcone because of its mafia ties. Francine chose his surname to be her mother's maiden name.
His middle name is Augustus.
He has many scars on his arms and chest from getting into fights as a teenager.
He is quite skilled in martial arts and eventually teaches his children self-defense, but he always makes sure to teach his daughters how to defend themselves the best.
In the other universes, he’s married to Jin and is still a teacher.
Miriam "Mitzie" Fischer (33) - Singer
Married to Dodger and is Guillermo’s younger sister, making her Cassie and Lucy's paternal aunt.
Loves anything and anything sparkly, sequined, hot pink, or all of the above.
She sings at Madame Christmas' bar. She sometimes runs into Lucy while she's there and embarrasses her. When she found out about Lucy's pretty girlfriend, Arabelle, Mitzie went out of her way to sing love songs to them in public to embarrass Lucy.
When she found out her favorite childhood teacher was actually her brother, she was overjoyed. She often sings for him and her nieces when they watch her performances.
She is a good aunt to her nieces, even if she has a questionable moral compass at times. Uncle Dodger usually takes the girls out for ice cream, but Mitzie's the kind of aunt to go out with Cassie and steal stop signs.
She's not necessarily the best influence, but there's no denying that she loves her family dearly.
In the other universes, she gets even more nieces and nephews because the AlCassie kids are Cassie's siblings instead.
#fma#fullmetal alchemist#fma oc#miriam adelaide fischer#jin lai#linda marlowe#mitzie was definitely the most fun to draw...i love her...#im not on time for her birthday but it's still taurus season right??#guillermo fernández

He thought this looked familiar - this apartment and the occupant. He’d been here before fixing something, although he couldn’t quite remember what, but he’d managed some time alone and had helped to break or at least undo some of the other fixtures as a way to ensure he’d need to be called back. Nothing that would be outrageous, just things of inconvenience. And he had been called back to fix a few of them. “Alright,” he said putting his final touches on a light fixture, “I think you’re good for now.” He looked at the younger male, “that’ll be $250.” Although he had other ways the man could pay he only need ask. And honestly, the things he would do to him and with him had him sort of hoping the other wouldn’t have the money anyway. @boysofcharm
#boysofcharm#( augustus fischer | interacts )#this came to my mind#but we can change it up or do something slightly different if you prefer
