#Marchmeetthemaker day 9 >>> What is the story behind the name? Believe it or not but this is my third business name. August Embers was born from a brainstorming session after the ten week course Start Run Grow Your Business from the Mission Community Services Corporation. Why August Embers? The month of August to me is the perfect time of the year. The warmth of summer is still present but the magic of fall begins to slowly creep in. The days are still long, making for magical nights, but we become aware of how quickly the rest of the year well fly by. This leaves us with a bitter sweet taste. Embers is representative of the sparks of life. Those little kindles that glow and nourish our souls fire. It's reminiscent of milestones met with ecstatic joy! After all it only takes one ember to ignite a fire. The idea of these two words coming together conveyed what I was seeking to do with this business. Create jewelry that celebrates your sparks of life! And embrace all that is magic within you. For we each hold a bit of magic inside. She describes the name as follows, "To me August is the perfect time of the year. It's that middle period where Summer is coming to an end and the magic of Fall starts creeping in. It's a transitional time, similar to what our customers go through, be it getting married, celebrating a decade of marriage, mourning a loved one or coming of age. That's what August represents to me. Embers, well what is an ember but a spark of something new?
